My sister and mom went for a few days and the resort was lovely. The condo was set up very well- and stayed cool with the ac up in the loft.
The portable fan in the loft we broken but survived without it.
Having 1 bathroom for the 3 of us was doable but occasionally a 2nd shower would have been nice.
Sitting on the Lanai in the morning and evening was beautiful and the pool time or hanging out on the chairs by the sea wall was great

We enjoyed our time at Papakea. The unit was nice and as described. The property’s two pools were very nice—my kids spent a lot of time there. We found a few good restaurants in walking distance that we could drop in on without reservations, and there’s a food truck park within a 2 minute walk.

This condo was so convenient to everything! We had enough beds for everyone which was a plus. We were amazed by how well stocked everything was and everything was very clean! We didn’t take advantage of all the amenities and things to do but there were lots of things on site to keep you busy which gave this a very resort feel!

Our 7 day stay in this West Maui condo was perfect for our family of four. The layout worked great, with spacious loft for kids above and private bedroom for us parents. The condo was clean and well stocked and we appreciated the beach gear provided. The 4th floor location and vaulted ceilings made it feel so spacious and gave us a great view of the pool and oceanfront lawn area. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained and we enjoyed the many birds, although they are a vocal bunch early in the morning. The staff were helpful and met all our expectations. We all loved the pool, hot tub and other property amenities. I would definitely rebook and recommend this place to friends. Mahalo!

This property was everything the description stated. Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) had an amazing time. The view from the lanai was amazing, we saw whales most mornings even at the end of whale season. The beach accessories were perfect as well and we used almost everyday.
Lynette was amazing to communicate with and answered any questions we had. We would book here again in a heart beat.

Condo was just as described. We holidayed with other extended family members that had other condos at Papakea. The resort was perfect, so well maintained. This particular unit was so nice, we chose it for the 3 loft beds as our kids will not share a bed. Could have used a second bathroom, but we knew that going in and for the price, this was great value. The birds woke us up pretty early, but we got used to it after a few days.

The resort is very well maintained with friendly staff, and the location is perfect for exploring West Maui. Papakea and G404 are amazing properties. The resort is very relaxed and allowed us to enjoy the Maui culture without the hussle of tons of tourists. The condo was great with an upstairs which was perfect for our teenage kids. Plenty to do and enjoy with fantastic views. The room also had everything you need from beach chairs, water socks, boggy boards, beach towels, washer and dryer, full kitchen supplies, and much more!

We just spent 10 days in Maui. Overall it was a great stay with just a little hiccup over check out times (Vrbo app said 11 and property manager said 10). Outside of the conversation with the property manager everything was delightful. The condo has a fabulous view, was accurately described and very clean and quiet. Reservation process was easy, responded to quickly, communication was pleasant with Lynettte, check in and out (minus the confusion) was good.

Condo is exactly as advertised. The property is clean and right next to the ocean. The swimming pool is fantastic and the views are incredible. The only negative was the sliding door on the balcony somehow locked when we were out out there and had us stuck for 30 minutes. Luckily the neighbor was home and was kind enough to let us in but was definitely not ideal. Aside from that I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Maui and wants a more cost effective solution than the resorts. Having a kitchen on a Maui vacation can definitely help curb the costs of a trip. Would recommend this rental.

This is a great unit in a great complex. The views from the balcony are even more amazing than the photos reveal. Our family throughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave. There was plenty to do at the complex when we were not out having fun in Maui. After a busy day, we enjoyed having a dip in the pool and hot tub. The kitchen is well stocked- one of our daughters made an excellent pineapple upside down cake for us while we were there. We highly recommend this rental.

The condo had a beautiful view from the lanai, was just as described and had everything we needed. Pools and hot tubs were great and we loved taking long morning strolls along the beach. The amenities were super nice - shuffle board, a huge putting green, pool and jacuzzi, and lounge chairs right by the water! The condo itself was very clean and comfortable, with an AC unit in each room (I've been in another condo in this complex that didn't have one in the main bedroom!). Couldn't have asked for more.

My family spent 5 nights in this location, and it was great. We enjoyed getting up in the morning and watching whales from the balcony. There is no beach front for Papakea, but multiple beaches are within a short walk. It was also convenient to have an ABC Store and grocery store so close. The unit was clean and had plenty of space for us (4 adults).

We had a wonderful week long stay at this condo. Papakea is a very chill resort with beautiful grounds. The grounds provide for room for outdoor activities. Tennis, Pickle ball, mini golf just to name a few. Kayaks and water sport supplies are also available. We really enjoyed the nice grills that are available for guest use that are located around each pool.
The condo itself was very welcoming. Other than our own food we did not need to add anything to the kitchen. There was a closet full of beach supplies that we put to good use.
We enjoyed the location of the condo. Easy walking to the Times Market which is very reasonably priced for food. ABC store, Snorkel Bobs and the food trucks are nearby to name a few. Good location to jump in the car and head either up or down the coast.
We brought our two daughters and they enjoyed the privacy and comfort of the upstairs area.
The Lanai has beautiful ocean views. We sat out their morning and evening. Quite comfortable.
The condo owner was very helpful with questions I had. She was always quick to respond. I had to cancel previous related to COVID travel and she was very helpful with that process. I would highly recommend.

If I can give the Bennett’s resort more than 5 stars I definitely would rate them top tier! We had no issue with this place what so ever, everything was provided (kitchen supplies, beach towel, beach umbrella, beach chairs, and golf equipments.) all ac, lights and ceiling fans was working through out our stay, not once did I have to give maintenance a call. The noise from the main bedroom wasn’t anything to what others had said it to be, it was one of my concern but honestly it wasn’t anything that bothered us or made our stay miserable or cause us lack of sleep and I’m a very light sleeper. The view from sun up to sun down from the balcony was stunning! Papakea staff minds their business but if you greet them they greet you back, we haven’t ran in to a single rude or unhappy staff. Covid is still going on and staff are constantly out keeping the place clean and extra sanitize so with them just passing by without a greeting is understandable, smile at them and they’ll smile back. Plenty of stores and food trucks just walking distance away, our favorite store and gas run would be the ABC Store that was a 2 minutes walk from the resort. The beaches along the front of the resort was beautiful! A plus during calm low tides, it made it easier to walk along the sand, we spotted a few turtles and did some snorkeling, it was nice that we didn’t have to drive to these places cause it was just a walking distance from our resort. We didn’t have any toddlers or infant but this place is family and kids friendly, parents just keep an eye of your kids because it’s a 2 story open floor other than that beautiful, clean and spacious place! I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends and it’ll be my booking spot ever time we return to Maui!

Papakea resort is absolutely beautiful! The condo had enough room for my family of 6. Was especially thankful for the washer and dryer. Had one problem with a kitchen drawer but it wasn’t even enough of a bother for us to contact the property manager. Kids loved the pool. Overall, excellent experience.

The location was amazing, everything close by, restaurants, food trucks, cafe, grocery within walking distance. The area felt very safe and the resort was well kept. The owner was great at responding and we felt like she truly cared about our experience. The condo was spacious and had everything you would need for a vacation, cooler with ice packs, dishes, beach towels, beach gear etc. We had some cleanliness issues and the owner responded quickly. The view was amazing and we loved listening to the birds.

We had a great time in this condo. Just as described. Chairs, boogie boards, towels and toys were great to have. Only item I searched for was a cheese grader. I was disappointed that half the pillows didn’t have cases on them. I reached out to Earnie and he told me he’d come tomorrow. I informed him that wasn’t sanitary to sleep on a pillow with out a case so I went a bought cases. That was our biggest disappointment was him. And he never checked back the next day. Other than that the condo was everything we needed.

We spent just over a week at this lovely condo in the perfect location for us. It was not in a super busy area, but also walkable to a grocery store, food truck park, beach, and awesome coffee shop. We loved being a short drive to some of our favorite beaches and was a great home away from home for us as we explored Maui. We really appreciated all the space this condo gave us as a family of 5. The AC worked great, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the included beach gear was a life saver (boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and cooler). The owner was responsive when we had an issue, and would definitively recommend this unit and would stay again.

I was so excited about this place, it seemed perfect for our family. However, the master bedroom is on the same sides as the walkway to get to other Condo's. The window in this room needs to be replaced as you can hear every person that goes by. We were woken up every morning at 5 am by birds, kids screaming, etc. This window is so bad that the curtains move when the wind blows. To top this off this mattress is awful. You can feel every spring in it. My husband and I ended up sleeping on the couch and the queen bed with one of our children. This place was great for everything else. Location, layout and facilities were wonderful. Super bummed to be saying this, but save your money if you intend on sleeping in the master bedroom.

We had a nice time at Papakea. It wasn't our first time, so we could compare the units and location of the units. We will probably never go again during March/Spring break. The pool was overrun by kids and babies in blow up toys. Too much splashing and screaming.Pool time was not very relaxing. We had 3 to 5 days of cloudy cool weather which was disappointing. Had to cancel our helicopter ride. Although we did have a spectactular day for a Whale Watch tour. The highlight of the trip for sure!
The upstairs loft was nice for the few days our two local grandgirls visited, unfortunately the television only got 3 channels, which didn't include the disney channel, ugh!
The kitchen and it's 'Dollar Store' utensils could use improvements. The shower head was funky too.
The constant slamming of our neighbor's front door, so disturbing, that I had to call security at 11:30pm!
The resort itself is well manicured and a great location. We will most likely go back to Papakea, but not to this unit or building. We prefer the other side of Papakea. It seems to have a more calm feel to it.

Our family of 4 has been to Maui many times before and we always end up at the big resorts in a hotel room. This trip, we were attending a family wedding and my parents were going to be traveling with us. We decided to stay in a condo to accommodate the entire family. This property seemed a good fit as it provided my parents a confortable queen sized bed and the 2 kids(6 and 10) individual twin beds. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprosed! Being on the top floor it was great to see the beautiful ocean views, the resort grounds, tiki torches at night and sunsets. The top floor has tall beamed ceilings in the living area, loft and master bedrooms. With the cool temperatures, we did not use the A/C and left the shutters open. The condo gave us plenty of room for our group and often the wedding party ended up in our place because we had the most space (and the biggest TV)! We saw whales daily from our lanai and the resort grounds. The kids loved the two pools but favored the heated one in our courtyard. We received beach towels which we used daily as well as all the beach coolers and chairs. We used the putters and balls to have putting tournaments and played oceanfront shuffleboard. There are tennis courts but we did not have a chance to check them out. The staff was very friendly and helpful and working with the owner was great. She returned my e-mails quickly and sent the rental agreement and confirmations in a timely manner. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for next year. For our family, being able to prepare our food , grill and eat by the pool or in the ocean side cabana is the way to go! Our experience was great, the wedding beautiful and Maui magical. If y ou are looking for price/value, a beautiful, uncrowded, oceanfront resort and a comfortable place to stay with all the amenities -then you can not go wrong with this property. Thank you, we will return.

We had a late arrival, and were greeted with a mess in the kitchen that required being swept up (a major pile of crumbs by the garbage.) In the morning we woke up to little black beetles all over the kitchen floor. After our return from the market and a quick trip to the pool, we came back and the beetles were on the counter, as well as inside our unopened bag of buns from Safeway. When we complained, they said that we had brought the beetles with us, probably from the grocery store. Kind of a ridiculous explanation. After that we kept EVERYTHING in the fridge; cereal, crackers, bread, etc. And still I swept up beetles every night and every morning, filling the dust pan with close to 50 bugs each time. They were in our drawers and clothes, in the bathroom and in our towels.
This unit claims to be updated, which is what drew me to this particular rental. It has been painted and has current furnishings, but beyond that it's in pretty poor shape. The tile is so old and dirty that even with our continual scrubbing, it still had a layer of gunk on it. The bathtub was small and really stained. The screen door needed repair daily (the screen part would come out of the track when you opened and closed it).
The majority of the condo is carpeted. But there is NO VACUUM!! Gross.
The 2nd bedroom is actually an open loft; which meant we weren't able to put the kids to bed and visit or watch tv. The ceiling fan in the loft was out of balance or something so made a loud noise as it spun. The beds were incredibly hard. My daughter whined every night about them saying they hurt her back, and frankly I had to agree and ended up letting her sleep in the main bedroom. The main bedroom is the nicest part of the condo: comfy bed.

One last thing; we were offered a slightly reduced rate (which was still more than a lot of other units were charging), but for what we got, we probably should have been paying even less. Dealing with the owner was really unpleasant. Really condescending, and seemed to make any issues or complaints I had personal...not professional.
Our last stay in Maui was at a beautiful resort near Black Rock, so of course this was about as opposite as you could possibly get...lesson learned: you get what you pay for!! (or in this case much, much less)

We had a wonderful time at Papakea. The resort is very clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful and quick to respond if you have any problem. We love staying in this area of Maui, it's quiet and not as busy as some other areas and it's only a five minute drive to Lahaina for shopping and excursions. The unit we stayed in was clean and well stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils you need for cooking. We also utilized the grills by the pool for cooking. We drove to the beach most days and the unit we stayed in had chairs, mats, towels, coolers, umbrellas, everything we needed! I would recommend this property to couples and families. I would put the smaller kids in the loft as the matresses up there are not the most comfortable for an adult. The king size bed was very nice though. If you come during whale season you will see whales from the balcony and it never gets old! Come to Maui, you won't regret it! Aloha!

Wonderful condo, extreamly clean and well outfitted with everything you will need for your stay including beach chairs, toys, snorkling equipment and coolers. The kitchen had everything you needed and the icemaker in the freezer came in VERY handy.
My only complaint is that there is no airconditioning in the master bedroom so you have to situate the fans at the door of the bedroom to draw in the cool air from the living room and the only other thing is that there is no beach directly infront of the condo, you have to treck down to the next hotel to hang out at the beach.
All in all it was a wonderful condo and the Bennetts make sure that you are comfortable and well looked after during your stay, I would definatly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Kaanapali for thier Maui vacation.

Really enjoyed our 10 days staying here. The facilities were excellent. Condo was clean and perfect size for our family. With the boys sleeping upstairs, it gave us some privacy on the ground floor. We used the BBQ most evenings.
There were some boogey boards tucked away under the master bed - so check this out, before renting any.
I did email the owners to let them know there were a few minor maintenance things they should be aware of. The next day, these were all fixed - amazing service.

We couldn't be happier with our selection of your unit for our trip to Maui. The suggestions you gave for beaches, eateries and activities were right on and saved us valuable "beach time". The Papakea Resort folks were very helpful and the resort facilities: pools, shuffleboard, putting greens, grills etc. were well maintained and greatly appreciated. We look forward to a return visit soon and our only problem will be selecting the grandkids to join us next time. You can't believe how good they behave when they know there is a trip to Maui on the line. I don't think you were responsible but the weather was perfect as well.
