This is our 4th year staying in J307, needless to say we love it there!!! Everything is pretty much perfect… the condo, the furnishings, the view, and the location. The owners are so easy to communicate with if you should have any questions or needs. Looking forward to returning next year!!!!

We stayed at the Papakea resort for a week in February. Check in was so simple and fast the room was clean and well stocked with essentials we needed. Even several beach items to use while we stayed and checked out other local beaches. The view from the deck was the best part. We ate all our meals outside and watched as whales jumped and played right there. The property is well maintained and clean our kids loved the pool. So nice to have private beach access with a shower to rinse off with as well. Our family will definitely be back again, wish we could've stayed longer. -Vorhees Family

So glad we stayed here! This is a great unit in a great complex offered by a great host. The condo is located on the west side of Maui right next to Kaanapali beach. As in the description, the kitchen and bathroom have been nicely updated. We are a family of four and the condo provided plenty of space for us all. Communication with the host was great in answering all our questions and accommodating us by converting the twin beds into a king. We so enjoyed listening to the ocean and watching the whales in the morning with our coffee. This place will be recommended to any of our family and friends going to Hawaii.

My husband and I have stayed at Papakea a few times and absolutely love every experience.This condo was immaculate. Clean, well taken care of and well stocked. They had a pack n play, a booster seat, swim towels, extra sunscreen, pool/beach items. We had a slight hiccup with the A/C, but the hosts were incredibly responsive and kept us updated every step of the way. I would absolutely rent from them again!

My overall opinion is stay here if you get a good rate. It was clean, comfortable and has a good whale watching balcony. My main criticism is that the listing says “many updates”. I stayed in 2 other units on the property that both had many more. This place had weird fluorescent lighting panels in the kitchen, what seemed like some sort of old vinyl flooring, and super janky carpet in the bedroom. The bathroom shower seemed new.

We had a great time at a super resort, in an oceanfront condo with an amazing unobstructed view. The unit met the VRBO description. The condo is somewhat dated (kitchen cabinets, bathroom, and the carpet in the living area and bedroom). Enjoyed our stay in the condo and it is a great location. Coffee on the lanai watching the whales was a highlight each morning. The owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. Will definitely consider staying here again on our next Maui visit.

We had a wonderful time at this property! The location was great, with plenty of dining options and a grocery store within walking distance. The condo was fully stocked with essentials (including toilet paper), and the beach supplies were a huge hit with our kids. We used the snorkel gear and bodyboards every day. The nearby beaches were beautiful, and we loved walking on the beach to watch the sunrise each morning. Our kids especially enjoyed the pool and the putting green, and we appreciated having golf balls and putters provided. A fantastic stay—we’d definitely return

From the beautiful lanai you can look out in the distance and see whales spouting, and from time to time leaping out of the water. (next time I'll make sure I bring my binoculars for even better viewing).Loved the closeness to other resort areas to the south by using the boardwalk starting at the Papakea property. Yes, a bit of a dodge around two properties that don't connect, but once we learned the route it was easy-peasy. Could walk to Duke's restaurant at Honu Kai in just 12 minutes, and then continue on all the way to near Black Rock Point for a nice 5 mile round trip walk.Plenty of close by places to eat, Times Market just a 5 minute walk, plus other shops. An ABC market is even closer through a back-gate on the property which is great.Papi's cinnamon rolls is a real gem.... but you better be in line 20 minutes before they open at 7am, or you may have a long hour wait to enjoy them. Will be looking forward to our next visit even more now that we've scoped out the area and how to get around.Mahalo nui loa

Wonderful place, great location for watching whale’s or just listening to the ocean right off the lanai. Everything we needed was at the place, beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, umbrella, kitchen was well stocked, all appliances are newer and work well. Having a washer/dryer is a huge bonus. This was our second stay at Papakea resort and would go again in a heartbeat!

The property was very nice and enjoyable during our stay. We would stay again if they cleaned it a little better. The host brought us a new broom to help us clean up. I would find a way to have the garbage can under the sink instead of open in the kitchen. The bed was nice, however either needs a new mattress or protective cover.

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the spectacular oceanfront view—watching the sunset from our lanai was breathtaking, and the whale watching was simply unforgettable.The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach and within minutes of some of the best snorkeling spots in Maui, including Black Rock and the stunning northern bays of Napili and Kapalua. The property itself was immaculately maintained, and the condo was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay.We also loved how conveniently located Papakea is—just a short walk to a grocery store, great restaurants, and shopping at Whalers Village. Comfortable and nicely decorated 1 BR unit with partial ocean view. Necessities provided. Clean. Good bed linens. Nice to walk out on ground level to ocean or pool…and sit on lanai enjoying view. Beautiful landscaping and pool area. Long ocean front lawn with lots of seating where guests sit to look at the ocean and waves, watch whales and visit with each other. Front desk area is attractive with a welcoming and efficient staff. Close to shopping and dining. Dawn was very responsive to questions and taking care of needs.

One of the best equipped rentals we’ve ever stayed in, there was literally nothing we thought of that we didn’t have. Ground floor was great too- easy access to the pool and all the other resort amenities. There’s no beach at Papakea is the only downside, but there are loungers at the sea wall to watch the ocean. We were a group of 5 and this unit had plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. The unit itself is perfectly located within the complex with fantastic ocean and courtyard / pool views. Waking up every day to the views and setting was wonderful. And the lanai had lots of space to relax and enjoy the setting. We sat outside every night and listened tot he waves crashing. The kitchen had every supply you could need. The A/C is on a timer so it turns off 6 hours after you go to bed. This wasn't a big deal in January, but it might be in warmer months. The resort / complex was beautiful and surprisingly quiet despite loads of activity in the pool and beach area. The pool is terrific but isn't as fancy as a resort pool is. This didn't matter to us, as we loved it, but heads up if this is a factor for you. Free parking is right out front which is great.. The only knock on the complex is the fact they don't have a sandy beach right out front for swimming. There are beaches immediately to the north and south (2 minute walk either way).
