The resort is its own oasis, from playing in the sand to swimming in the pool. The room had everything we needed, you know when you say, I wonder if they gave this or that...the answer was yes. The resort has activities each day, a Mai Tai hour. We had all the ammenities we needed. We arrived late so lots closed but we were prepared. You dont get a lot of noise from neighbors, the staff are super nice and helpful. 10 out of 10 stay!

The unit is as advertised, right at the water. Nicely updated and comfortable for 2 people. The community is low key and feels more populated by return guests and/or owners; lots of people knew each other. No hotel vibe, so no food or drink service available. You hear surf 24/7, often loud! Saw whales while sipping morning coffee every single day. Would happily return.

First, we have stayed at this property 3 times in the last 2 years. Property is fantastic and well maintained. This unit, K202 is not clean, not well maintained, and very much outdated - pictures are deceiving. First, was called 2 weeks prior to arrival to be notified that the AC was out and would not be fixed until after our departure date. Agreed via a waiver to have a window AC unit, that never happened. No window unit! We had fans going non stop. Then the unit was not ready at 4pm on our check-in date. Even though I called as directed before we left tHe airport area, had to leave a message as no one answers the number given. Then once on property, maintenance came to fix guest room closet, came to fix the dishwasher, the toaster had to be replaced and I paid for the ultimate beach package, only to get alot of new beach items with no where to store them. The unit needs a heavy deep clean, as the sofa is gross, the air vents are covered in lent, the dryer exhaust forces hot air in the unit. Lent goes everywhere, which is dangerous, as the lent is all over the water heater causing a fire hazard.Long and short, I would highly discourage anyone from staying in this unit until they put some work into the unit repairs, clean it throughly, and please do not advertise AC, when clearly, that is not an option.Pictures of the unit are old, does not reflect what your actually renting in this unit.

Property was perfect to host 3 generations. Granddaughters in the loft with their OWN bathroom, I was in second bedroom and my daughter and husband in main suite. View from their bedroom looked like a photo, it was so beautiful. We will be back!

On our first day, a property owner walked by us and said "don't tell anyone about this place, it's a secret." I get it now. You will love Papakea, and Carol is an excellent, communicative host. We had the best time as a family staying at this condo, and the views really are as shown in photos. We spent a week at this property as a family of 5. There was plenty of room. The condo is organized and easy to make our home for 7 days. It has a pool, hot tub, putting green, tennis and pickle ball court available for guests to enjoy. Another thing we enjoyed was the large Cabana, BBQ and view. The perfect place to enjoy supper after a day at the beach. Lisa is an amazing host who is quick to respond and eager to answer questions. Within a 5 minute walk is a grocery store, strip mall and a cute bakery. It is within a 5 minute drive of Black Rock Beach and Airport beach which are highly rated and for good reason! I would recommend this rental and or facility (Papakea) to anyone looking to visit Maui.

I am so happy with our rental experience. We slept 10 in this unit, 4 adults and 6 children. The location is perfect, the resort had daily activities, our kids lived in the pool. We ate suppers as a group with 21 people in the cabana which provided tables and BBQs. The beach is not accessible off the resort, which was not a problem for us, but there is a sea wall with a 10ft drop down to the waves so if you have small kids you'll want to make sure they do not get close. Christine's unit had a closet full of supplies that were so valuable to us as out of towners, we did not arrive with our own lawn chairs, the closet had lawn chairs, a cooler, boogie boards, snorkel gear, water shoes, umbrellas. It exceeded my expectations. In suite laundry. Plenty of seating on the balcony. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Thank you Christine for everything, I appreciated that we were able to message you, our group cannot wait to come back.

This is a wonderful condo right at the water overlooking the ocean with Lanai on the left and Moloka'i on the right side and humpback whales jumping in near and far distance between the islands. It's a spacious place. The kitchen could be a little better equipped, e.g. not all of the cutlery was x 8 and some of the coated pots and pans were damaged. Overall, it's the perfect location for being at the water and watching the humpback whale migration in January and if you like the sound of the waves. It's also very close to walk to beautiful Kaanapali beach. We enjoyed out time very much and can highly recommend this place.

We loved everything about this property. The location and views of whales from the porch EVERY DAY was surreal. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the porch every morning and wish we never had to leave. All the cooking supplies and beach supplies were great. We really enjoyed the free mai tais by the pool on Thursday evening as well. The little strip across the street from the property had the grocery store with everything we needed. And the restaurants there were great as well. The pizza we got from Pizza Paradiso was delicious and the food truck court right there was just an added bonus.

The online listing and pictures were very accurate but watching whales and their young from your private lanai is not easy to put into words or pictures. The condo exceeded all of our expectations; well stocked, quiet and walkable to several excellent restaurants. One night we had a storm which caused one of the nearby resorts to lose all their power for several hours. We received an email the morning after from Dee just checking in. Our time spent in Maui was indeed magical. Many thanks to Jay for providing such a warm and welcoming place. My favorite activity was sitting on the balcony and scanning the ocean for whales. We saw tails waving at us and flippers splashing the water on a regular basis. The condo had everything you might need for your stay including boogie boards, snorkel equipment and a beach cart. We highly recommend this property for anyone who wants a beautifully appointed place to stay in a wonderful location! This listing is AS ADVERTISED! We found everything we could ever need for our vacation. Including beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella and cooler.The grounds were very well maintained and lovely. Restaurants and markets were all within walking distance or just a short drive away. We also were able to find lovely beaches and coves to snorkel in 15-20 minutes away. Whaler's Villiage is 10 minutes away with all the upscale shopping and restaurants you could ask for. Mahalo for a lovely time Epic Reality!

We have stayed at the Papakea many times and overall, found this to be a good unit for families. The layout is spacious and carpets have been replaced with hard surface flooring so it is easy to clean. The ocean and garden views are nice and it is also north facing so does not get very overheated by direct sun. The unit is well equipped with boogie board and beach items. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped (even has some sharp knives which is almost unheard of). Owners were prompt in responding to questions. Mattresses need replacing but overall this is a pretty good rental.
