My family and i just returned from the best vacation we have ever had! If you are looking for an ocean front fully stocked condo, with great owners this is it! The place had everything we needed for a great base camp while we explored the wonders of Maui.We enjoyed morning coffee by the ocean and evenings watching sunsets on the balcony. The resort has many amenities: including 2 pools, activities, putting green, shuffle board. The resort is located within walking distance of several restaurants, food truck park, a grocery store and ABC store. Most of all, Lou was fantastic communicating before and during the rental. This was my best experience using VRBO! Thank you for sharing your wonderful place!

We loves the location & resort amenities. More than both of those, workin with Jay was fantastic!! Quick, honest & accurate responses.J302 is clean and prepared for you to have a great stay beyond expectation…all the little things (extra pillows, throw blankets, etc) along with a very well stocked kitchen & family closet. Chairs, boards, books, games, food storage, spices, dish pods……just all the things to feel like home and make mom’s job easier. Jay goes the extra mile!!! Can’t wait to visit again.

The cleanliness of the condo and all the information left for a visitor was absolutely amazing for a first time visitor of Maui! My wife and I also appreciated the attentiveness to the grounds crew always attending to making sure things were clean and running properly. AC was misleading, none in the second bedroom at all and a governor controlled it. The unit on the lanai caused the area to get so hot in the afternoon and evening we could not sit out nor eat there. We could use it in the mornings when the outdoor temp was the coolest. No hot water in the master bath shower. Three of us used it at different times during the day and all had warm showers only. No oven except the microwave/oven combo above the cook top stove. it took double the time to bake puff pastry, so we had to completely replan our meals. No recycle bin in condo, tiny kitchen trash can for a condo to accommodate a larger family or group.Broom was appreciated to sweep any sand tracked it, but no dust pan makes to tough to use.The master bash shower had built up dirt on the outside of the shower doors which were completely covered in mineral deposits.The master bedroom had an issue where something had left residue on the tile, perhaps a piece of furniture. The lanai was way too small for the size of table on it.I do have pics of the shower and floor.The resort is a well maintained beautiful property that we may try one more time, the staff was very helpful and engaging.

Spacious and well appointed condo with amazing views, just like the pictures. The loft was perfect our 2 teenage boys and the private bedroom downstairs was appreciated. The kitchen space was great for cooking in. There is a beach close by, about a 5 min walk, that has nice sand and small waves. The resort was quiet and clean, no need to claim chairs by the pool or by the beach wall for sunset. Loved the views and unit, would highly recommend.

Penthouse H403 was perfect for us. The loft worked great for 2 teenage boys. There was enough room up there for two more. All the beds were very comfortable. The 3 split level air, it took us awhile for the three units to cool down the place. But after that first day they held the temperature. Everything you need Kitchen was great! Down the road is a small store where we bought some needs. Paper goods, some coffee and breakfast groceries. Perfect! Papakea Resort was so friendly. The pool area with grills and a pavilion was used everyday for our 13 family members staying at the resort. Yes, no beach! It did not stop some of our family to snorkel the area. (Be a strong swimmer) There were beaches near by. Thank you for sharing your place with us.As some may know, you can encounter small birds sneaking in the condo through open screens. Hahaha! Thank you for the closet full of beach goodies, chairs, umbrella, toys, snorkel gear and cooler. Some things didn’t work but most just needed a good cleaning and was usable. All was great !!! I do have two suggestions though : It is time to replace the couch !!! My second is, the bar stools are VERY uncomfortable !! They appear to be new, but, whatever you paid for them, the seller got the best part of that deal. They are o.k. to hang some clothes on, but, that's about it. Over all, The condo is very nice and we would stay there again.

We stayed eight nights in this unit. Could not be any happier! Beautiful condo in a beautiful resort. Dee and Randy really do go all out to make your stay wonderful. Centrally located on the upper west side of Maui, so anything you need is close by. Unit was very well appointed with absolutely everything you might need on your stay. The shower was as close to a spa shower as anything i've been in! Will not hesitate on coming back! Thanks Dee and Randy

Excellent kitchen. Very well supplied with extras - spices, sunscreen, laundry detergent, beach towels, etc. Usually owners don't do that and it saved us a lot of money. Loved the melamine dishes. Beautiful view. Some small negatives - The A/C in the master bedroom smelled. The sink drain in the hall bath smelled when you turned on the water. After looking at details for ten days I became aware some things needed updating, the hall bath (the one that I used) everywhere around floor. Would prefer more plastic cups. But I'd stay there again. Good value.

The unit was clean and had a beautiful view. The unit was very hot. The central air did not cool like we are used to. The only way to keep the condo tolerable was to close all the blinds during the day, which defeats the purpose of the great view. We enjoyed the condo at night once it cooled off, but there’s not enough comfortable seating. It sleeps 8, but only 4 fit on the couch. We had 5 adults which left one person sitting on a hard kitchen chair or backless barstool if we all wanted to hang out together. We also paid extra for late check out, but was locked out of our room. We ended up spending time on our last day at the front desk and on the phone trying to get this fixed. The cleaning person also entered the room when we weren’t there. We asked for a partial credit for this inconvenience and did not receive one,

The unit was fine. It wasn't as good as other units I rented in this complex. The biggest problem was the property manager. The A/C wasn't working when we checked in. It was set at 72 but it was just hot air blowing from the outside. I called the management company 2 days into the trip. They got a/c working but it couldn't be adjusted. Four days later, I received a call from a repair tech telling me he'll fix it the day that we left. Don't expect much from chasing rainbow. Not even an apology !!

Location and quality of the property was good overall, with patio access and beautiful view of the ocean. Only issue was that we found towels in the tub which had not been washed and put away prior to our arrival. This called into question whether anything had been washed at all, so we had to wash our pillowcases and sheets before we could sleep in them. But at least it was in-unit and we could wash our clothes before we left, so that kind of made up for it. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

This was our first visit to Maui and we are so happy we went with this condo. This property is in a great location; within walking distance of many food options including a food truck lot, restaurants, grocery store, and ABC store. The property is family friendly with a pool, hot tub, yard shuffle board, and short walkway to beach access.The property felt very safe and secure. Having a washer and dryer to do a few loads of laundry during our trip was so convenient. Property also has bbqs.

This place is truly amazing. Our family just completed a week stay. The condo was perfect for our family of 5. It’s fully equipped and the ac works great. Has amenities that a person who is staying there can use such as the pools, shuffle board and putting areas. We used the grills on 2 different occasions with no waiting since there are many on the property. The view every day was breathtaking. Loved waking up each morning and hearing the sound of the ocean and sitting w cup of coffee taking in the beauty of Maui. The condo has beach chairs and a cooler you can use to picnic at the different beaches. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely return.

The Papakea resort grounds and staff were fantastic. Beautiful setting away from the craziness of the larger more touristy resorts. The unit itself was okay. We had plenty of room for our family and everything was clean. Minor updates in the bathrooms, and maintenance to the sliding doors and shutter style windows would improve the overall experience. The AC in the guest room did not work the entire week we were there, and given the number of fans stuffed into the various closets, it probably hasn’t worked for quite some time. Communication with property management was not great. Most of my emails to them went unanswered. It took two days of back and forth communications about the ac to finally send someone over to look it, who ultimately could not fix it but offered to bring us more fans. We would definitely consider staying at Papakea resorts again, but not in a unit under this management company.

Loved this place! Everything exactly as shown in the pictures. Great location with beautiful views and easy access to everything. The grounds are kept immaculately, pool was never crowded, put-put course was great, and ABC store through side gate was super convenient. The unit has the most comfortable King size bed and kitchen has everything you need. They give you a starter pack of garbage bags, dishwasher soap, laundry pods w dryer sheets, coffee filters, etc. I brought extra but didn’t need to because what they provided was enough for us for 10-days. They have a closet with books and games, along with coolers and beach chairs. Great newly remodeled bathroom with strong water pressure and beautiful glass turtle sink. Can’t wait to return and I would rent this unit again.

The room was nice but could use a little TLC! Screen doorwas almost impossible to close - someone will break it trying so hard! We fixed the toilet and the ceiling fan in living room did not work at all. Still was comfortable though. The other thing was the construction right across from us was incredibly loud! Takes away from a relaxing day at the pool! Still giving it a "good"!

We had a wonderful vacation and loved the location of Papakea. There's a great surf shop for rentals, a grocery store, and a coffee and pastry cafe, all within a 5-minute walk. The beach is just to the left, we walked it nightly and stopped off at different resorts to eat. The place has a beautiful view of the ocean and space for the family. This place is definitely a top pick for a unit if you want to have a direct view of the ocean. Our family was planning on breaking our stay up between the north, south, and East areas. We stayed down south for a couple of nights, but ended up extending our time here because everyone preferred it to other locations.

Beautiful property, our family enjoyed the tennis courts and pool on sight. Location was excellent, close proximity to food, shopping and beaches. Unable to access ocean directly from property as it has a sea wall and rocky shoreline but many beautiful beaches to swim close by. Great for our adult children, group of 7 able to spread out in own beds after long days. As others have said, tight space for dining as a group but not a huge deal for us.

It was my second time stay at this beautiful ocean front condo and absolutely loved it! I was there in 2023 with my sister and niece before the Lahiana fire. Even though the landscape has changed, it is still beautiful and the people are so kind. It was my husband's first visit and he said it was so relaxing and peaceful. We look forward to our next visit and hope to see more progress in the rebuild. Maui strong!

The views were breathtaking and we loved to location. The reasons why this place does not get a 5 star starts with the check in process. Before our stay, I received an email from our host. He told me check in was at 3pm. Upon arrival to the resorts, frobt desk told us that check in was at 4pm. Ok, fine we'll just wait another hour, no big deal. At 4pm we headed to our room, only to find that the place has not been cleaned properly. One of the bedrooms bed was covered with wet towels, the dryer was full with beach towels, the kitchen had grease stains and the bathroom's baseboards were very dusty. The other issues that we had was the duplex stairs. They are super steep amd some of the boards were wiggly. I guess if it was just adults I wouldn't care, but with kids around we had to be extra careful. topproperly.
