We had an awesome stay in E309. Owner communication was so fast, complete and wonderful. Condo has wonderful shaded BP ocean view 24 hours a day, with a nice air flow without running the air conditioning. We will be back!

We were very pleased with the unit because of the condition of the property and location. It was a great base for our trip to Maui that took us all over the island. It is 10 minutes from Ka’anapali, 10 from Kapalua, 45 from Wailea, 45 from the airport, 90 from the summit of Haleakala and 50 to the beginning of the Road To Hana.
The condo itself is a well furnished unit with everything you need for a week-plus in the kitchen and around the island. There were more than enough cooking utensils, storage containers, dishes, mugs, glasses, pots and pans.
The beach gear was worn but also in ample supply (don’t count on using the umbrella in any amount of wind).
The queen bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, and the sofa bed was above average for that type of furniture.
The lanai had a terrific view of the ocean and a view of sunsets (depending on angle of the sun).
Everything was very clean. The washer and dryer were nice (new looking) GE stackable front-load units that were great for semi-daily loads.
Our only negative was the air conditioning. The unit has a four-hour timer that has to be turned on in order to use the AC. It is a wall-mounted (ductless) unit in the living room, and it doesn’t provide much cooling to the bedroom, although there is a ceiling fan there. When the timer expired in the middle of the night, it became quite warm. Would have been good to know this prior to renting. Still is a good unit, but be aware of that.

It was perfect for what we needed. We had a great view from the balcony, plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids and also laundry which was amazing. Would definitely return or recommend.

We truly enjoyed Sonia’s condo. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Snorkel and beach gear were ready for us, even a little folding cooler. The food truck park was a short walk away and had many delicious options. In addition, there was a gate between the condo complex that was a shortcut to the ABC store. We will totally stay here again.

Our stay here was wonderful. The resort in which it is located is really nice. It is located close to a lot of places you’d want to visit when on this side of the island. Apartment could have been a little cleaner. But overall not bad at all. Would stay again.

Great property with fantastic views. Liked the fact that the gated pool area was cleaned each day and that they kept the gate closed/locked. Aerobics classes looked great but we didn't participate. The price/value for the property is outstanding. We wouldn't hesitate to come again. One thing - we searched a long time up and down the road for the property - need to make sure you have guests look for "Papakea" sign - really would help. Thanks for a great stay!

Our condo at the Papakea Resort in Lahaina was in a great location - near many local beaches and walking trails, close to shopping and within minutes of most restaurants. The facility is older but clean and well supplied for your basic needs. The view was the highlight of the unit. Our 3rd floor balcony overlooked the peaceful and beautiful courtyard and pool area with a clear view of the ocean surf (still close enough to hear it as well). We had a wonderful time.

Checking was extremely smooth because they have a resort checking desk and location is really great, next to various restaurants and food trucks. Resort charged you a « resort fee » that you pay upfront, which is steep but Hawaii is expensive so no surprise there (this includes parking, pool access, mini putting green, tennis, etc). Apartment has a lovely balcony and view on the pool/mini putting green and ocean. Overall it was very clean apart from dishes that smelled so had to wash things before using. Apartment is a bit dated and lacked light in bathroom and bedroom, but was great for our short stay. All in all we were very satisfied.

My 2 children and I stayed a week at the Papakea resort. The location of the resort and view from the condo lanai were both perfect! The condo was well stocked with all the dishes, beach chairs, beach towels, sunscreen and so many other nice amenities.
The beach is a very short walk and we saw several sea turtles in front of the condo!
Also, shopping, restaurants and grocery stores are a short walk.
I suggest you rent a car to see the most of Maui.
Great place and would love to visit again! Thank you for sharing your Maui paradise with us!

We were in Maui to celebrate a friend’s wedding and were recommended to stay at Papakea - I’m so glad we did! The property was perfectly situated, very clean, and had plenty to do both on-site and nearby. Several food trucks and restaurants within walking distance and great access to the beach.
This specific unit was exactly as described / photographed. Very clean, appliances all worked well (we really appreciated the in unit washer dryer!), and we LOVED being able to see the ocean from our balcony. The host was very communicative in advance of our visit and the on-site management were excellent as well.

We had a wonderful time at Papakea! We stayed 10 nights in E309 with 2 adults and 2 kids. Bottom line, we loved it and would stay again if the price is right.
The good:
-the grounds at Papakea, facilities, etc. are great
-the location of Papakea is great (walking distance to beaches, restaurants, groceries)
-the ocean view from the unit is wonderful (although you can't see the sunset in May/June at least), it sets a little more to the south west, but the view from the grounds is amazing!
-the owner was responsive
-the unit had almost everything we needed (dishes, beach stuff, etc.)
-a/c is in the living area and helps stay cool at night but doesn't reach the bedroom in the back very well. A box fan would help.
-lots of basic food/kitchen items were left from other guests (coffee filters, spices, cooking oil, etc.)
Areas for improvement:
-the sofa bed mattress is terrible-these are never great, but this one needs replacing (with two adults and two kids, we needed to sleep one adult and one kid on the bed and one adult one kid on the sofa bed)
-a few more bed pillows would be great (there were 5 total-I like to sleep with 3 :))
-a few more towels would be great (just enough there for 4, but we had to do a lot of laundry)
-the washing machine doesn't agitate very well
-a few more ice trays would help (no ice maker)
-we ran out of dishwasher detergent and almost ran out of laundry detergent (this should be well stocked)
-we were only given two rolls of toilet paper for 10 nights and 4 people (my opinion is this should be provided)
-all basic soap items were provided except shampoo (this should be basic)
- a deep clean is needed, the floors were pretty dirty

We had a wonderful stay at the Papakea. I stayed with my son (he had the pull out couch) and my fiancé (he flew in mid-trip). The unit was neat, tidy, spacious and had everything we needed. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. We used the barbeque once to make smokies for lunch. We didn’t use the pool as we are more ocean people. I really loved that it was a nice quite/smaller property (as the larger properties feel too busy with lots of people and “loud” - we wanted to avoid lots of crowds this year so this property was great) Loved having breakfast each day on our lanai and looking at the ocean views. Close to shops so we could get groceries across the street and also an ABC store and gas station (if you have a car)
Really missing Maui right now!
