This is the extension of Kaanapali beach past Black Rock. Many confusingly group it with Kaanapali Beach, conveniently ignoring the 250 yards of lava rock and hotel that separate the two. Kahekili beach is still situated within the Kaanapali resort, but has a distinct character of its own. There are fewer hotels (although much new construction) and consequently the beach is far less busy than Kaanapali. Kahekili Beach Park offers beautiful fine sand and great swimming. There is no snorkeling here, including the southern section where the black rock lava outcropping is located. Swimming around the outcropping to get to Black rock (and the north section of Kaanapali beach) is not safe as the deep ocean waters are prone to currents (plus it's a 650 yard swim)..
