We stayed at this property for a week to celebrate a 60th Birthday. We thought the property was beautiful. The description of the property was accurate and do give it 5 stars for that. The grounds are immaculate, and the community pool is very nice. The condo itself is very old and we knew that, and we would have gave 5 stars all around, but condo was not clean, mirrors and appliances and balcony doors looked like they had not been cleaned in quite awhile. The furniture is old and cushion covers need to be replaced or maybe atleast washed. We agree with the reviews about the stove, for some reason all the settings and markings are gone, so if you are not familiar with a electric glass top stove you could not use it. We did alot of exploring and enjoying the beautiful island, so did eat out for the most part so it was not a issue for us. The condo is right on the ocean, spectacular sunset views, but there is just a very small rocky beach. No beach is no problem though since there are so many other beaches to visit. Sorry cannot give this condo a all 5 star rating. I think it could be the best vacation rental with some much needed updating and cleaning. Eileen the host was very easy to communicate with in booking and answering questions before we arrived. Had a few concerns about the property and let Eileen know and hope she takes care of them, would make a big difference in our rating.

This unit on the complex has wonderful panoramic views with wildlife visible while relaxing on the lanai. The unit has all the amenities you would need on a vacation stay. Only negatives for us that could be easily solved were the sofa and the lanai are not super comfortable. If it was our place we would also have a TV in the bedroom even if it’s just able to get streaming channels.

This stay was just beautiful! The views of the ocean and the daily rainbows were breathtaking! The unit was small but perfect for 2-3 people. The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our weeks stay! My favorite part was sitting out on the rocks every day watching the turtles swim up to say hello. We would definitely book this stay again. It’s the perfect location!

Maui is a magical place, and this property was a perfect spot to stay to access all of what the island has to offer. Even though it is less central compared to Kihei, the drive was always opposite to traffic, so it was never a problem. The property itself had everything we needed, including beach chairs, towels, and boogie boards! The patio is a perfect place to post up for an afternoon beverage with whale watching, and the beach out front had all of the turtles to swim with. Overall, would highly recommend to stay here. Great value!

My husband and I stayed at Eileen’s beautiful condo for 2 weeks, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary ( 2 years late lol). The views from everywhere are unbeatable! We saw turtles and whales every day from the lanai, and an endangered Hawaiian monk seal beached herself for a nap on the small sandy area! The Kuleana is in a great location for all west Maui beaches and restaurants as well. We highly recommend the condo for all of your vacation needs!

We had a wonderful time! It is great being able to sit on the beach and watch the turtles. We saw whales breaching from the balcony! Debi was an excellent host and communicated quickly. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved this property, everything that you need in the kitchen, the unit was spotless the grounds are meticulously maintained the bbq’s are cleaned every morning and was a great place to socialize in the evenings when grilling up dinner. This is a great location to experience Maui and to get away from the snow. We've certainly seen more turtles than tourists and the whales were in sight (suggest you bring binoculars). The accomodations were nice and being on the water was unbelievable. We recomment this highly.

The unit was perfectly adequate, and the deck views are just sublime. For the price, this is a great place to stay.Minor things with the kitchen being slightly small and the shower having some small issues draining are minor and can be easily overlooked as you are starting at the whales breaching out the top floor view of the ocean that you just swam in.

Refurbished condo in Lahaina. Stairs a little steep especially with luggage, but the climb is worth it! Great views from deck/lanai of the ocean and plethora of humpback and porpoise action. Continuously watching 2-5 pods of whales at any time, bring binocs or monocular to really bring them in! End unit on top floor so minimal noise from neighbors. Bedroom on parking lot side so a little noise with window open. Bar height table and 4 chairs on deck were used constantly and cooler and beach chairs available for use. Full size fridge, stove, coffee maker and sink with counter made snacking great.
Perfect for a couple with king size bed and walk in shower.
Owner was very responsive when I didn't realize that check in instructions were given couple of weeks before. Only issue and really my fault.

The condo is nice as described, but if you are wanting to sit on the patio and watch the whales, not likely. There is a large tree blocking your view (not the owners fault but I would have liked to know the view was "obstructed"). Great for turtle watching however. My email to the property owner about switching to another unit went unanswered, as did my message prior to our arrival inquiring if the unit had beach chairs, cooler, etc. (It did which was appreciated, but we ALMOST bought all that at Costco when we landed).
We've stayed at Kuleana several times including when our kids were young. Not so family friendly anymore. There are a couple full-timers that call security for the slightest noise - security banged on our door 2 minutes after quiet hours because we were talking on our deck. Four 70-year olds playing a dice game beside the pool were told by security to "roll the dice quieter". Kuleana must be Hawaiian for "No fun allowed". We still love it and MIGHT return, but not until exploring other options first.

Property was great getting the parking pass was the only hassle. First night nobody onsite plane was late then nasty note on windshield and nobody there u til later that day! If nobody is available you should be a bit less nasty about parking pass but everything else was perfect thank You!

The property is just north of the part of Lahaina which unfortunately burned down. Many places around here are still or back to operating. Figured I’d point that out since the address says Lahaina.
THE PROPERTY. The condo is not ON the beach, but is situated on a cliff overlooking the pacific and has the most spectacular view anytime of day. The big glass door allows you to enjoy that view whenever you like as well. The condo and the community are quiet and clean which we loved since our goal was to relax. Most of what we did was no further than a 10 minute drive away which was nice. Some like everything to be walking distance but we didn’t mind. I didn’t communicate with the owner only because their welcome email was so detailed and left no questions. Like I said, the condo was clean and everything worked so there was no need to reach out either. 10/10 experience, we’ll be looking to book again on our next trip.

This property is right on the ocean, ground-floor level. We have stayed at Kuleana before, but this is our first time renting Margie's place. In all respects her condo is a great place to stay and Margie was great to work with at all times before and during our stay. We couldn't be happier.

This is our second stay at the resort. The whales and turtles were very active and easily viewed from the balcony! Dont be scared of the small square footage, it seems much larger and well stocked! Highly recommend!

Beautiful views great security, rugs need to be replaced with rubber bottoms, slip too easy. Ocean front,7 steps-good rails.some blew conch shells at sunset. Bed comfortable. Need to work on stove controls, almost invisible,great balcony. Would definitely stay there again.

Had zero issues! Nice view, beautiful grounds and pool, nicely appointed and well taken care of unit. Owner provides prompt detailed instructions and useful information. Besides the coin laundry in the complex, this unit has an over/ under which is very nice. We enjoyed the nice patio set for sunsets and meal times. Lots of turtles, but the small sand beach was seasonally not there, lava rock instead.

The location was perfect and we loved the well kept landscaping which made for pleasant evenings and sunsets. It was nice to have beach chairs, towels, umbrella and snorkel gear. Snorkel gear needs a new mask (it doesn’t seal). The room is dated and small but still good for a party of 2 (not more). Recommendations: Get central AC if possible. We were fine but would have been hot in the summer. Bedroom needs an updated furnishing…especially mattress. There were a few small roaches in the bathroom. The front door upper screen was broken and fell twice. The front could be painted which would really help aesthetically. I would recommend wall mounted tvs to create more space. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. This is a good place to stay if you don’t want to stay in an overpriced resort but still want to be on the water. You don’t get the cleaning services or amenities of a resort but it is a good place to lay your head and relax after a day out on the island. You are close to plenty of shopping, dining, and many beaches. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay, and love the way the plants on the grounds are maintained to enhance the feeling of peacefulness. I love the location of the grills so that you can enjoy the sunset, while you cook dinner and meet new people from different parts of the country/world. A morning cup of coffee on the lanai looking out over the ocean is a favorite way to start our morning. We're very interested in booking again.
