We absolutely loved staying at the Kuleana. The apartment is technically a 3 floor walk-up, but it was more like one and a half floors, the stairways are short. The views from the lanai were simply spectacular, we spent every evening watching the sunset from our balcony. The bed was large and comfortable, everything was clean. The road outside was a bit noisy overnight, but I slept in earplugs and was fine. Only tiny issue we had was the cable in the living room wasn't working, only in the bedroom. Host was quick to respond via text. We never got it working, but were fine to watch the ocean instead. Absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again. Perfect for a couple.

The property was excellent and charming. Clean and well appointed, easy communication with property manager (Miranda).We watched whales breach regularly from our room, and sea turtles swimming just below us in the water. We will definitely be looking to stay here again.My only warning would be if you are sensitive to light when sleeping, bring a sleep mask because one of the bedroom windows looks out into a stairwell that is constantly lit (and the light bleeds through the blinds). Black-out curtains here would be an easy property improvement.

Waking up to an ocean view and listening to the peaceful sound of the surf just outside the balcony door, then watching the sunset as you kick back and relax after a long day of unwinding, what else is there to ask for? The location can't be beat, with all the amenities and supplies needed for our family of four to thoroughly enjoy our stay. This was our 2nd time at the Kuleana resort and it didn’t disappoint. We love it here. Great location to everything we like. The beach onsite, isn’t the greatest depending on tide, it’s either sand or all lava rocks. Pool is great. Close proximity to other great beaches. The place was very clean and enjoyable.Two Minor things 1. The internet in the bedroom didn’t work very well, 2. The air conditioning did great cooling the bedroom. The rest of the house stayed warm/hot Overall would recommend property and unit.Thanks for the home away from home!

Our family of four just returned from an amazing week in Maui. The kids had never been to Hawaii and we hadn't been since our honeymoon on the big island, 21 years ago. This condo was exactly as advertised, especially the incredible views across the property to the ocean beyond. Peaceful, relaxing, close to everything you need- great spot. Our communication with Ed was fantastic. He responded quickly and offered so much great insider info on the island for us. I truly felt like we were honored guests in his home. A/C in the bedroom worked great when we needed it at night, but the breeze kept us cool enough during the day. The kitchen was pristine and had everything we needed. The little beach was perfect for relaxation and turtle watching. We didn't use the pool but it looked very clean and not overly crowded at all. WiFi sometimes got spotty but found if I just reset the switch it rebooted and worked fine.

We loved the feeling of complete peace and quiet as you take in the vast ocean crashing before you. It is a beautiful oasis in West Maui with the best salt water Olympic sized pool on the west side. BBQs were right there and we enjoyed our morning walks to the Bad Ass Coffee Company.

The space is exactly as it looks online, the balcony is quite spacious and was our favorite place to hang out! The views are excellent and while not exactly waterfront, you could still hear and see the waves! We really enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen as we didn’t want to eat out each night during our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, some of the best sleep I’ve had while not at home. Lots of storage space to unpack and get comfy! The area was perfect!! We loved being able to explore the island or just the beaches south and north of our location. There is a very small rock strewn beach on the property that is nice to explore or watch a sea turtle napping! The grills were spotless and great to cook on. The grounds meticulously maintained! 10/10 recommend!

It was nice having such a wonderful view from the condo and the ground are immaculate. Beautiful landsccaping and some benches to sit and watch the sunset if you don't have a view from your condo. They cleaned the pool and pool area every morning. The beach at the property is seasonal, likely only accessible at low tide, which was in the dark when we were there. The host was wonderful. I reached out to her a couple times and she was very responsive telling me where I could find different things (extra sheets and pillows are located in the bottom portion of the tv cabinet). The condo itself was a bit smaller than we are used to, but it had everything we needed. Perfect for a couple or small family.

One of the longer condo shorelines with lots of grass to walk up and down to look out to the other islands and look for turtles and whales. The lighting of the tiki torches at sunset is really special and makes it truly feel relaxing and like this is a vacation not just a stop over. This 1st week in December there were many people who have come back at the same time for many year and became our friends. Great atmosphere . Nice pool and location to many nice beaches. Loved cooking breakfast and eating on our lanai almost every morning. Walking to Bad *** coffee every morning. These become rituals. 2nd time at Kuleana we will go back again.

This property was comfortable and clean, but not without issues. The shower didn't drain, so water rose up your ankles while showering. This appears to have been a long standing problem given the rusty tide mark on the tub bottom. The tub itself is stained and most of the enamel is worn off. We called the property manager Emmett and he was very responsive, drain was cleared the next day. Then the toilet stopped flushing consistently, we had to remove the tank lid to pull the chain/flush. Then we tried to do laundry but the dryer did not work. Another email to Emmett, who quickly responded and fixed the toilet, however the dryer could not be fixed and was not functional for our whole stay. Emmett suggested there would be compensation for the dryer inconvenience, but we have not received anything. The pictures flatter the property significantly, it is smaller and a bit underwhelming when you actually see it, but again comfortable for 2 people (4 would be a crowd) and clean. The AC unit is in the bedroom window and is extremely loud. The view from the deck is wonderful and the grounds are well maintained. While the ad suggests beach access, this is very limited. The "beach" is very small and there are significant rocks. Getting in for a swim would be challenging - and dangerous for those who are not strong/competent swimmers given the combination of rock and surf. We didn't see anyone using the beach as a beach for our stay.

We recently stayed at this place, and it was everything we’d hoped for! The views are absolutely stunning — we spent every evening on the balcony just soaking up the sunsets. The place itself is beautifully decorated, really clean, and feels cozy yet modern. Having air conditioning was a big plus, especially since it got a little warm in the afternoons.
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals, though we did end up trying a few of the local spots nearby. It was the perfect balance between a relaxing home-away-from-home and a beach getaway. If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic escape, I’d highly recommend this spot!

This condo was absolutely gorgeous! The sweet smells of Hawaii were welcoming! Along with the perfect view of Molokia and rolling waves that were sure to help you fade away in paradise, this property had it all, the beach gear for the day, the kitchen fully stocked to grilling steaks, cheeseburgers in paradise, and seafood while watching the the waves roll in! When my husband and I travel we like to go to different places and stay in different accommodations each time. This is one of the first places we've stayed where we know we would come back. It's like your own little oasis and out of the whole complex, I actually think this condo is the best of them all when you consider location on the property and the panoramic view. I am obsessed with Honu (Hawaiian green sea turtle) and we saw them from the balcony every single day popping their heads up and swimming!! What I didn't see other reviewers mention is the star gazing. Oh my gosh this place is just as beautiful at night as it is in the day. I would have slept outside if the bed inside wasn't so comfy!! Watching the moon rise while BBQing in the garden was unforgettable, and I even saw the milky way! I also loved the decor inside the condo, it's traditional and very Hawaiian so you really feel like you're soaking up the lifestyle and culture. A really really beautiful spot with the most incredible view of anywhere we've ever stayed.
*A note* to say that from the description it seems this place is in Lahaina, it isn't. While driving through Lahaina it was devastating to see the damage from the fires. But this place is through the other side.
