The view from the unit is out of this world.
If you like to wake up to the gentle sound of the waves on the rocks, then this unit may be right for you.
If you like to see turtles from the comfort of the lanai, then this unit may be right for you.
If you like to walk 15 feet to reach the beach for snorkeling, then this unit may be right for you.
Overall, we had one of the best vacations!

Beautiful views and great location to things we wanted to do. There was a stinky cooler we could not use, one of the Tommy Bahama chairs was broken, along with a leaky face mask and non working snorkel. We could not use those items offered in the description, other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

View could not be beat! Sunsets, waves and turtles! Love the tiki torches on the property at night and close access to the beach with great snorkeling. Everything you need is there and well organized. Owners are great and responsive. Only wish list item would an in-unit washer/dryer. Would 100% stay again!

This resort never disappoints us. Wonderful views from the lanai & overall we really enjoyed our stay in this unit. A couple of items that could be addressed. The towel bar in the bathroom was loose from the wall & the shade on the lanai could not be lowered by the crank as it was broken. We manually lowered it. The air conditioner in the bedroom works great but is very loud. The unit itself is very clean but just needs a little maintenance done. Note: the laundry room is no longer coin operated machines so be aware you need to download an app & load money onto the app or purchase a laundry card & load funds. A little confusing but we figured it out. We will return to Kuleana as we love the resort!

We loved our stay at Kerry and Lynne's condo! It was comfortable, inviting, and everything we needed was made available. The communication from our hosts was outstanding and we even got to meet them while we were there! The view from the lanai was so tempting it was hard to leave to do anything else! But right below us was a beautifully manicured landscape and a small beach full of sea turtles. We made it home each evening to enjoy the blowing of the conch shell and magnificent sunsets. The residents, guests, and staff at Kuleana were kind and cheerful. We definitely hope to be back!

We had an amazing time at the Kuleana Resort! The lanai was phenomenal - best place to enjoy morning coffee while watching the turtles eating their breakfast below along on the rocks. Seeing the whales offshore with the amazing binoculars provided in the unit was an awesome experience each morning. The unit was comfortable for my family of four (two tween girls). We enjoyed hearing the ocean waves lulling us to sleep each night. Great neighborhood location. Definitely recommend this unit and resort - the turtles are amazing to watch and snorkel with! Thanks for a wonderful Christmas vacation!

The last time we were at Kuleana we enjoyed jumping waves and watching turtles. This time we found that apparently storms had taken the sand leaving rough rocks. Actually we were happy about that because it gave us a chance to not feel guilty about lounging around and listening to and watching the waves—just about our favorite activity at Kuleana, and the most important reason we have returned to this property several times!

Really pretty little unit in a great location in Honokawai. No real beach to speak of but let me tell you, that is NO PROBLEM because the turtles absolutely love the rocks. 20 or more turtles came to rest and feed every day! Unit was clean and reasonably appointed. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Would stay again!

Kerry and Lynne were such wonderful hosts. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to pack lunches for our daily beach/hiking excursions and for eating dinners/ happy hours out on the beautiful lanai every evening. We enjoyed coffee out there in the Mornings. The sunset is absolutely breathtaking from this Lanai.
This condo was comfortable for our small family of 3, our son is 11.
We loved watching turtles 🐢 and dolphins from the lanai. The “magic beach” with sand wasn’t there during our trip, which is very common at allot of beaches in Maui. It stormed the week we got there so the oceans were very rough and choppy. The “magic sand” beach does come and go and would be so wonderful to be there when it’s there to just beach and snorkel straight from the property.
People did go in from the stairs to the beach on the property but we didn’t feel confident that our son could make it back in safely without hitting a rock so, we didn’t enter the ocean from there. As they say in Hawai’i….”if your unsure don’t go in!”
We’re from San Diego and grew up in the ocean so, we understand it very well, the surf and currents can change in an instant!!
I could’ve just slept outside on the Lanai, the ocean view and hearing the waves crashing was just so heavenly!
This condo is situated on such a beautiful part of the island and close to tons of restaurants, shops and grocery stores when you exit the condo to the left or the right, So very convenient!
My favorite lil hole in the wall restaurant for fish was The Fish Market down the street. They catch and sell it the same day. It’s so fresh and delicious! I don’t even eat much fish at home but I ate here almost daily. When we picked up food, we brought it back to the lanai daily, no need to spend the $ for an ocean view restaurant when you have that view!!!:)
Tip: Times Market and Foodland were the MOST affordable on Maui, Safeway is SO overpriced!
Kahekili Beach (Airport Beach) was our favorite to swim and snorkel daily,
So close to the condo. Also our son loved boogie boarding at DT Fleming beach park, it was his favorite!
The property and grounds at Kahana are beautiful and so we’ll kept up. They even have a filtered water refill machine in the lobby which we filled our own water bottles daily. Bring one!
We will definitely be back and stay here!!

This location was beautiful. Ocean view, proximity to grocery shopping, gorgeous turtles & activities within driving distance were all great.
Sadly, the unit itself was very unsanitary. Especially the kitchen appliances, utensils, cooking pots and pans, bathroom… etc.
Further, the on-sight laundromat was unkept and uncared for as well.
Caveat: The parking spaces are very small & narrow. When parking, double-check that your vehicle isn’t overlapping the white lines as you’ll receive a very unfriendly & nasty written note on your windshield by management.
Overall, the items of concern referenced above in the unit had not been cleaned properly for some-time. For example, the coffee pot was unusable, and had it been inspected, it would have been obvious the appliance needed to be replaced. As such, we took photographs / video to save as a future reminder. In past, we stayed in another timeshare just up the street from this location in Kahana. A completely different experience, in that the building / unit was built in the same year, but very clean & well cared for with a friendly staff on-sight.
Lastly, the owner’s manual and management of the property was relatively strict, yet they failed to adhere in accordance to their own standards. We left the unit cleaner than when we arrived.
This was an honest review. However, the location, view and cost still allow us to grade this trip as a solid “B”.

Clean, well organized and couldn’t ask for a more perfect location. Everything was just as advertised. View was beautiful with perfect sunsets and countless sea turtles within yards of shore. Sand beach was yards away. Close to everything but not too close that you didn’t feel you were in the middle of a tourist trap. Everything worked and one short communication with owner was promptly returned. Good security and very well maintained grounds. We would definitely stay here again if we return.

We really enjoyed the beach, snorkeling with turtles a few steps away and short walk to great restaurants. Kerry is a fantastic host! Very responsive to all our questions. It was warm in Maui during our stay and only having a wall AC in bedroom made the main room difficult to cool. AC is loud cycling on/off so not good for light sleepers

The condo was perfect! The location was great, close to everything. Stores, coffee and beaches within walking distance. Everything you could possibly need was provided in the condo. Only thing we had to rent was an umbrella for beach days.
The ac unit in the bedroom was great for sleeping. I personally didn’t think it was very loud, but I’m also not a light sleeper.
The view from the lanai was stunning, having breakfast and coffee out there in the morning was perfect.
I love that we had our own private beach. Everything was clean and we would love to come back!

The views were perfect and we loved the location right on the ocean/beach. Saw many turtles come up to the beach, which we enjoyed watching. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The bedroom a/c was a lifesaver at night. Overall, we loved it and would definitely stay here again.

This was our third visit to the Kuleana and it did not disappoint. The condo was very comfortable and so close to the beach. The view is breathtaking! We had everything we needed in this unit and truly enjoyed our stay.

Great location and Kuleana is a wonderful oceanfront property. A few suggestions: microwave tray needs to rotate; TV cord needs to be secured; lanai chairs need to have sharp corner edges repaired or replaced. Also, overhead ceiling fan in living area was not functional.

Amazing experience! Our family of 4 had an amazing time at this condo!!! This listing is exactly as described. The view from the lanai is just incredible!!!! My kids snorkeled and saw numerous sea turtles. The owners were always available if needed for questions but I really had none! Book this condo, you won’t regret it! We hope to return someday!!!

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful property for 5 nights. The unit was just as described in the listing - very clean, peaceful, and on a beautiful oceanfront property. We enjoyed breakfast and evenings on the lanai. We also made great use of the beach chairs, boogie boards, and snorkel gear. The check in process was a breeze. Staying at VRBO's is tricky because everyone is different and words and pictures can paint different pictures. This place was very hot and difficult to cool down because of the way the AC unit was situated in the bedroom that did not allow for the air to flow into the rest of the condo. There were ceiling fans and floor fans but were covered in layers of dust so blowing that around was not a great plan either. If you are electrically sensitive this is not the place for you. The AC unit was super loud (even with my ear plugs in) and radiating a lot of electrical smog. The best part was the view of the ocean and easy access to the ocean so if you don't mind being hot/warm/toasty then this place would be your jam!

The reviews regarding the "beach" are accurate. There is a sandy spot to access the water but not large or dry enough to sunbathe or "play" in the sand and getting to it is a little tricky. We spent most of the time we were there on the patio watching for turtles (saw 1) and whales (saw 1) at breakfast and sunset 2 of the nights. The pool for the complex is very small and surrounded by units (no ocean view from it). The landscaping on the grounds is very nice and well cared for. There is just not a lot to do there other than was is listed above. You have to drive a bit to get to anything - too far to walk. It was further north than I expected. Bed was very comfy. AC is very loud - built in white noise and keeps the bedroom chilly. Only the bedroom is air conditioned so if you want to hear the waves you will need to sleep on the sleeper sofa and may want to use the screen doors and let the breeze flow through the unit which kept the temp fine for us (It was end of March) . The unit is maintained by a cleaning crew and could use a good top to bottom deep cleaning. Think of it as the difference between running your car through the car wash vs getting it detailed. The unit is ready for a detail.
We spent most of our time in Lahaina. One of the days we walked the hotel district between the Hyatt and Black Rock stopping in for cocktails and eats along the way which was a leisurely way to pass a day.

This was the type of place we needed in Maui! Location is in a quiet neighborhood, views for days, and you are able to get to all the major beaches on west Maui within 15 minutes. It is on the edge of the property so you only see other people on the lawn at sunset.
The unit was well appointed with everything we needed in the kitchen (one of the most complete we’ve stayed at) and enough beach gear to set us up for our daily excursions.
The owner was extremely responsive with answers ranging from local eats to additional towels. Overall an excellent experience!

The Condo was breath Taking!
It was the perfect for the 3 of us.
We didn’t spend as much time at the resort as we should of but we made sure to make it back most nights for the most beautiful sunsets.
The snorkelling out front of the condo was amazing!! Lots of turtles (everyday), fish… even better than our experience at Lanai! Everyday we saw turtles playing in the water & whales from the deck.
The resort was very laid back and a small community.
We will definitely try to book for our next visit!

Good stay. I confused beachfront with oceanfront . You are definitely steps from the Ocean, but there is not beach access at this time. We saw no turtles :). Our stay was nice and peaceful. View is fantastic. Good for couples.

My husband and I had our covid-delayed 25th anniversary get away in this wonderful condo. The location was amazing - ocean front, well kept, close to all amenities. It is a delightful spot for 2 people, perhaps 3 at most. The condo is well stocked and clean. There is a delightful through breeze that eliminates most of the need for air conditioning, and the sound of the waves lapping on the beach is so relaxing. Sitting on the lanai watching the sunset over the ocean never gets old. We will definitely be back.

My family absolutely loved our stay at The Kuleana resort. The condo was set up perfectly and clean. The highlight, of course was the view. The employees we encountered working the grounds were always friendly. It was beautiful, clean and private. I would definitely recommend to anyone I know. It was perfect. I should add that the pool was clean and not crowded at all. I did not see one bug on the whole property with the exception of a bee on a fragrant flower. We could see the turtles from out lanai. I am still amazed at how wonderful it was. I will have a hard time ever going to a hotel again. This was definitely a little piece of heaven.

This condo was right on the ocean! We saw turtles in the water every day. We snorkeled with them almost everyday. There were plenty of beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, cooler, snorkeling equipment, etc.). The condo itself was dated, small, and full of furniture and Knick knacks. The bedroom has no view and no breeze. We actually slept on the pull out couch so that we could get the breeze and hear the ocean. The location and view make this unit totally worth it!
