The view from the unit is out of this world.
If you like to wake up to the gentle sound of the waves on the rocks, then this unit may be right for you.

Beautiful views and great location to things we wanted to do. There was a stinky cooler we could not use, one of the Tommy Bahama chairs was broken, along with a leaky face mask and non working snorkel. We could not use those items offered in the description, other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

View could not be beat! Sunsets, waves and turtles! Love the tiki torches on the property at night and close access to the beach with great snorkeling. Everything you need is there and well organized. Owners are great and responsive. Only wish list item would an in-unit washer/dryer. Would 100% stay again!

This resort never disappoints us. Wonderful views from the lanai & overall we really enjoyed our stay in this unit. A couple of items that could be addressed. The towel bar in the bathroom was loose from the wall & the shade on the lanai could not be lowered by the crank as it was broken. We manually lowered it. The air conditioner in the bedroom works great but is very loud. The unit itself is very clean but just needs a little maintenance done. Note: the laundry room is no longer coin operated machines so be aware you need to download an app & load money onto the app or purchase a laundry card & load funds. A little confusing but we figured it out. We will return to Kuleana as we love the resort!

We loved our stay at Kerry and Lynne's condo! It was comfortable, inviting, and everything we needed was made available. The communication from our hosts was outstanding and we even got to meet them while we were there! The view from the lanai was so tempting it was hard to leave to do anything else! But right below us was a beautifully manicured landscape and a small beach full of sea turtles. We made it home each evening to enjoy the blowing of the conch shell and magnificent sunsets. The residents, guests, and staff at Kuleana were kind and cheerful. We definitely hope to be back!

We had an amazing time at the Kuleana Resort! The lanai was phenomenal - best place to enjoy morning coffee while watching the turtles eating their breakfast below along on the rocks. Seeing the whales offshore with the amazing binoculars provided in the unit was an awesome experience each morning. The unit was comfortable for my family of four (two tween girls). We enjoyed hearing the ocean waves lulling us to sleep each night. Great neighborhood location. Definitely recommend this unit and resort - the turtles are amazing to watch and snorkel with! Thanks for a wonderful Christmas vacation!

The last time we were at Kuleana we enjoyed jumping waves and watching turtles. This time we found that apparently storms had taken the sand leaving rough rocks. Actually we were happy about that because it gave us a chance to not feel guilty about lounging around and listening to and watching the waves—just about our favorite activity at Kuleana, and the most important reason we have returned to this property several times!

No real beach to speak of but let me tell you, that is NO PROBLEM because the turtles absolutely love the rocks. 20 or more turtles came to rest and feed every day! Unit was clean and reasonably appointed. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Would stay again!

Kerry and Lynne were such wonderful hosts. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to pack lunches for our daily beach/hiking excursions and for eating dinners/ happy hours out on the beautiful lanai every evening. We enjoyed coffee out there in the Mornings. The sunset is absolutely breathtaking from this Lanai.
This condo was comfortable for our small family of 3, our son is 11.
We loved watching turtles 🐢 and dolphins from the lanai. The “magic beach” with sand wasn’t there during our trip, which is very common at allot of beaches in Maui. It stormed the week we got there so the oceans were very rough and choppy. The “magic sand” beach does come and go and would be so wonderful to be there when it’s there to just beach and snorkel straight from the property.
People did go in from the stairs to the beach on the property but we didn’t feel confident that our son could make it back in safely without hitting a rock so, we didn’t enter the ocean from there. As they say in Hawai’i….”if your unsure don’t go in!”
We’re from San Diego and grew up in the ocean so, we understand it very well, the surf and currents can change in an instant!!
I could’ve just slept outside on the Lanai, the ocean view and hearing the waves crashing was just so heavenly!
This condo is situated on such a beautiful part of the island and close to tons of restaurants, shops and grocery stores when you exit the condo to the left or the right, So very convenient!
My favorite lil hole in the wall restaurant for fish was The Fish Market down the street. They catch and sell it the same day. It’s so fresh and delicious! I don’t even eat much fish at home but I ate here almost daily. When we picked up food, we brought it back to the lanai daily, no need to spend the $ for an ocean view restaurant when you have that view!!!:)
Tip: Times Market and Foodland were the MOST affordable on Maui, Safeway is SO overpriced!
Kahekili Beach (Airport Beach) was our favorite to swim and snorkel daily,
So close to the condo. Also our son loved boogie boarding at DT Fleming beach park, it was his favorite!
The property and grounds at Kahana are beautiful and so we’ll kept up. They even have a filtered water refill machine in the lobby which we filled our own water bottles daily. Bring one!
We will definitely be back and stay here!!

This location was beautiful. Ocean view, proximity to grocery shopping, gorgeous turtles & activities within driving distance were all great.
Sadly, the unit itself was very unsanitary. Especially the kitchen appliances, utensils, cooking pots and pans, bathroom… etc.
Further, the on-sight laundromat was unkept and uncared for as well.
Caveat: The parking spaces are very small & narrow. When parking, double-check that your vehicle isn’t overlapping the white lines as you’ll receive a very unfriendly & nasty written note on your windshield by management.
Overall, the items of concern referenced above in the unit had not been cleaned properly for some-time. For example, the coffee pot was unusable, and had it been inspected, it would have been obvious the appliance needed to be replaced. As such, we took photographs / video to save as a future reminder. In past, we stayed in another timeshare just up the street from this location in Kahana. A completely different experience, in that the building / unit was built in the same year, but very clean & well cared for with a friendly staff on-sight.
Lastly, the owner’s manual and management of the property was relatively strict, yet they failed to adhere in accordance to their own standards. We left the unit cleaner than when we arrived.
This was an honest review. However, the location, view and cost still allow us to grade this trip as a solid “B”.

Clean, well organized and couldn’t ask for a more perfect location. Everything was just as advertised. View was beautiful with perfect sunsets and countless sea turtles within yards of shore. Sand beach was yards away. Close to everything but not too close that you didn’t feel you were in the middle of a tourist trap. Everything worked and one short communication with owner was promptly returned. Good security and very well maintained grounds. We would definitely stay here again if we return.

It was warm in Maui during our stay and only having a wall AC in bedroom made the main room difficult to cool. AC is loud cycling on/off so not good for light sleepers

The condo was perfect! The location was great, close to everything. Stores, coffee and beaches within walking distance. Everything you could possibly need was provided in the condo. Only thing we had to rent was an umbrella for beach days.
The ac unit in the bedroom was great for sleeping. I personally didn’t think it was very loud, but I’m also not a light sleeper.
The view from the lanai was stunning, having breakfast and coffee out there in the morning was perfect.
I love that we had our own private beach. Everything was clean and we would love to come back!

Great location and Kuleana is a wonderful oceanfront property. A few suggestions: microwave tray needs to rotate; TV cord needs to be secured; lanai chairs need to have sharp corner edges repaired or replaced. Also, overhead ceiling fan in living area was not functional.

Amazing experience! Our family of 4 had an amazing time at this condo!!! This listing is exactly as described. The view from the lanai is just incredible!!!! Staying at VRBO's is tricky because everyone is different and words and pictures can paint different pictures. This place was very hot and difficult to cool down because of the way the AC unit was situated in the bedroom that did not allow for the air to flow into the rest of the condo. There were ceiling fans and floor fans but were covered in layers of dust so blowing that around was not a great plan either. If you are electrically sensitive this is not the place for you. The AC unit was super loud (even with my ear plugs in) and radiating a lot of electrical smog. The best part was the view of the ocean and easy access to the ocean so if you don't mind being hot/warm/toasty then this place would be your jam!

The reviews regarding the "beach" are accurate. There is a sandy spot to access the water but not large or dry enough to sunbathe or "play" in the sand and getting to it is a little tricky. We spent most of the time we were there on the patio watching for turtles (saw 1) and whales (saw 1) at breakfast and sunset 2 of the nights. The pool for the complex is very small and surrounded by units (no ocean view from it). The landscaping on the grounds is very nice and well cared for. There is just not a lot to do there other than was is listed above. You have to drive a bit to get to anything - too far to walk. It was further north than I expected. Bed was very comfy. AC is very loud - built in white noise and keeps the bedroom chilly. Only the bedroom is air conditioned so if you want to hear the waves you will need to sleep on the sleeper sofa and may want to use the screen doors and let the breeze flow through the unit which kept the temp fine for us (It was end of March) . The unit is maintained by a cleaning crew and could use a good top to bottom deep cleaning. Think of it as the difference between running your car through the car wash vs getting it detailed. The unit is ready for a detail.
We spent most of our time in Lahaina. One of the days we walked the hotel district between the Hyatt and Black Rock stopping in for cocktails and eats along the way which was a leisurely way to pass a day.

This was the type of place we needed in Maui! Location is in a quiet neighborhood, views for days, and you are able to get to all the major beaches on west Maui within 15 minutes. It is on the edge of the property so you only see other people on the lawn at sunset.
The unit was well appointed with everything we needed in the kitchen (one of the most complete we’ve stayed at) and enough beach gear to set us up for our daily excursions.
The owner was extremely responsive with answers ranging from local eats to additional towels. Overall an excellent experience!

The Condo was breath Taking!
It was the perfect for the 3 of us.
We didn’t spend as much time at the resort as we should of but we made sure to make it back most nights for the most beautiful sunsets.
The snorkelling out front of the condo was amazing!! Lots of turtles (everyday), fish… even better than our experience at Lanai! Everyday we saw turtles playing in the water & whales from the deck.
The resort was very laid back and a small community.
We will definitely try to book for our next visit!

My husband and I had our covid-delayed 25th anniversary get away in this wonderful condo. The location was amazing - ocean front, well kept, close to all amenities. It is a delightful spot for 2 people, perhaps 3 at most. The condo is well stocked and clean. There is a delightful through breeze that eliminates most of the need for air conditioning, and the sound of the waves lapping on the beach is so relaxing. Sitting on the lanai watching the sunset over the ocean never gets old. We will definitely be back.

My family absolutely loved our stay at The Kuleana resort. The condo was set up perfectly and clean. The highlight, of course was the view. The employees we encountered working the grounds were always friendly. It was beautiful, clean and private. I would definitely recommend to anyone I know. It was perfect. I should add that the pool was clean and not crowded at all. I did not see one bug on the whole property with the exception of a bee on a fragrant flower. We could see the turtles from out lanai. I am still amazed at how wonderful it was. I will have a hard time ever going to a hotel again. This was definitely a little piece of heaven.

This condo was right on the ocean! We saw turtles in the water every day. We snorkeled with them almost everyday. There were plenty of beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, cooler, snorkeling equipment, etc.). The condo itself was dated, small, and full of furniture and Knick knacks. The bedroom has no view and no breeze. We actually slept on the pull out couch so that we could get the breeze and hear the ocean. The location and view make this unit totally worth it!

We stayed May10-20 2021. We have stayed in west Maui 2 years ago about 4 or 5 condos down from here. Great location has a small private beach on one side turtle heaven in the rocks on the other side .There are grills for use.. Kerry has beach swimming items and cooler to be used during your stay. Kerry is available if you have any issues .He supplies you with lists for places to visit and restaurants. Tip at least when we were here only sit down high end restaurants were 1pm -2pm,,So use( open table) before your vacation.

Very clean and well kept condo. Unit was well stocked with everything you need, including beach gear and snorkels. Small private beach with soft sand. There are stairs you must climb to get to the unit since it is on top floor but its not too bad. You are rewarded by the amazing views of the ocean. We saw turtles, whales, and wonderful sunsets right from the lanai. You hear the sound of waves at night. Kerry and Lynne were very responsive and provided great advice to maximize your time in Maui. My wife, two kids and myself loved our stay here and hope to come back again soon.

This is our second stay at this property and first time in this unit. We really enjoyed this location on the third floor which gives you an excellent view for watching whales this time of year. We appreciated the binoculars and spotting scope not only for the whales, but also for looking at the moon. My only hesitation with coming back to this property again, and the owners have no control over this, is that the beach area completely washed away on our third night and for the rest of our stay we had to drive to a nearby beach to get easy ocean access. Wasn't a problem for us, but if you have kids I think it may be.

The property and location of Kuleana 718 is amazing! The grounds are immaculate and the view of the ocean is spectacular.
From our lanai (on the 3rd floor) we enjoyed gazing at the beautiful sunsets, watching sea turtles swim along and feed off the rocky shore, marveling at the surfers, and eating our breakfast of Maui-grown papayas.
The sandy beach at this location was a great place to swim and meet other travelers. When the ocean was calm we enjoyed snorkeling at the Kuleana Resort and saw many turtles and a variety of colourful fish.
Kerry and Lynne were onsite during the time of our vacation and we enjoyed hearing their story. They are very gracious and welcoming hosts.

This was the perfect location for our family. The condo was nice and we loved Kuleana resort. It was quiet and everyone is very friendly. We all gathered around in the evening to watch the sunset. It was nice being away from the business of the big resorts but close enough to go and enjoy those areas if you want to. We were only a few minute drive to the board walk and Ka'anapali beach. Old Lhaina was about 15 minutes away, which was a great place to go for some fun shopping and night life. We even got to hear Mick Fleetwood play at his bar. But the very best thing for us was the TURTLES! They were right out in front of our condo. We swam and snorkeled with them every day. They were very friendly and inquisitive, swimming right up to us. Being protected, and not being harassed they are very comfortable around people. This is the only location we found that had lots of turtles, great snorkeling, and a beach. The only thing we couldn't do here was boogie board or surf but there are plenty of other beaches in close proximity for that. There were some people paddle board surfing some days out in front of the resort, first time I had seen that. The condo was nice and had pretty much everything we needed for our stay. Nice appliances, full-size fridge, beach chairs and toys, even binoculars, and lounge chairs for the balcony. Kerry was great and was very prompt in getting back to us via e-mail when we were making the arrangements for our trip. They really have thought of every thing. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Maui.

There were no surprises when we rented the property. Everything was as advertised and that was plenty. From the handy Guides sent to us in advance of our trip by the owners to the smoothness of the transaction, everything was top notch. We had a wonderful romantic time celebrating a 60th birthday at this little piece of paradise.
Most impressive to me was the white sand beach below our room with reefs teaming with fish and sea turtle on either side. plenty of room to swim without worrying about a reef beneath you, while excellent snorkeling immediately adjacent. Pretty sweet!
If the opportunity to return presents itself we will jump on this rental Great price for a great stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Kerry's and Lynne's lovely condo at Kuleana. The place was beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and conveniently located. The unit size was perfect for 2, but might be a bit tight for 4. The beautiful little beach was a pleasant surprise, and the abundance of sea turtles right there a delight. A couple of minutes (literally) down the road is great take out food (3 places in ABC Rental plaza) and a health food market. The beginning of the very nice 'beach walk' is just a minute further, with plenty of restaurants in the area. Maui is the real star (you'll love it), and this condo is a great temporary home and base.

Kerry and Lynne has thought of every detail in this lovely condo! This condo was our home away from home while in Maui! We enjoyed every minute of the cozy King bed and AC to sleep, the walk-in shower is super, the kitchen is just right and has all of the needed utensils, pots and pans, coffee pot, toaster, dish washer, oven, dishes, potholders, etc! The living room is nice size with a cozy sofa and 2 soft swivel chairs and little kitchen table. Books to choose from, binoculars, telescope to view the beauty, the lanai with high top table and chairs with beautiful view of the beach and sunset, and all the beach toys you need! We enjoyed our entire visit! Kerry and Lynne also provided ideas for restaurants, fun sites and things to do along with a map to clearly identify the sites and stops! This information was a Godsend! It was also great having the private and quiet beach away from the tourists and hustle bustle. Being on a private beach that is also a turtle sanctuary was the top of our joy! We loved snorkeling with the turtles and the little fishes in the morning before the surf picked up pace! Although we didn't paddle board we watched from the lanai each morning as the boarders were right outside our lanai. Thanks, Kerry and Lynne for all of your ideas and for opening up your lovely condo to two visiting PA natives! We hope to come back to beautiful Maui! We were relaxed and enjoyed every single minute of our stay! We highly recommend this lovely condo on the private beach owned by two thoughtful and kind owners, Kerry and Lynne. This is a great unit - view and proximity to the beach is excellent. Daily whale and turtle watching from your patio and the beach is very relaxing and not crowded. The location was close to a number of other beaches and places we wanted to go and see such as the ziplining, aquarium etc.

The Nugent's were great with fast communication and the condo was comfortable for our needs. There was just the two of us. We didn't rent a car and were picked up at the airport by CB Taxi for $89 one way. There is a city bus stop just outside the condo which was easy to catch to Lahaina and shopping. Also used Uber. All transportation was very reliable.
We spent much of our time on the lanai looking at the whales, turtles, people snorkeling, and paddle boarding. The beach was never crowded and is not accessible to the public. The condo had all supplies needed to enjoy the beach. Security was evident each day. The weather was warm but we did have a few days of rain during our stay. Our whale watching tour was canceled because of the stormy weather but our money was refunded. I would suggest that if you plan to go on a whale watching tour, to do it earlier in your stay so if there is a cancellation you have time to get rescheduled.
This is a very nice location and would recommend it especially if you are wanting to relax and have the ocean just steps away.
