Really nice location close to (within a short driving distance) the restaurants and bars and stores. Beautiful views. More than enough room for the 5 people we had stay. The condos are very quite: you do not hear your neighbors at all. The beaches within walking distance to the left of the condo are rocky at the shoreline, and the rocked-in area has some big rocks you will stub your toe on as you wade out to see the turtles, but well worth it to see all of the turtles that come up on the beach. The water near the shore is murky on most days. We drove to lots of other beaches within 15-20 minutes south on South Kihei Road. South Kihei Road can get noisy, but it is usually not bad at all.

The grounds at this property are meticulously maintained. The pool, chairs, grill… everything was perfectly scrubbed. The condo itself was well stocked with everything we could possibly need and the pictures are spot on. We loved being able to walk down and see the turtles in the morning. If it is your first time in Maui, plan your excursions for the afternoon so you can enjoy the calm beach weather in the morning.

One of the best units we've ever stayed in. Loved the cleanliness, accuracy of unit description, promptness of May responding to inquiries, how tastefully the unit is decorated/painted which made us really feel like we were on a tropical vacation. Mostly we appreciated all May's attention to detail...like how the unit was stocked: kitchen has everything you would ever want in a rental, including spices, sharp knives (little details...so many times we have stayed in units with dull knives that I always bring a hand knife sharpener when we travel...didn't need it here). One of the very best things is the Brita water filter in the fridge, and the funnel to pour filtered water into our water bottles...huge money saver over buying bottled water daily. And other details like convenient and space saving drawers in the bed frame. Also, Menehune Shores is hands down our favorite place to stay when we visit Maui...central island access for driving West Maui, Hana, Upcountry... awesome sunsets, lots of turtles, morning beach walks. I could go on, but you get the picture...outstanding unit that we highly recommend.

The condo is perfectly located and stockedwith kitchen and beach basics. The washer and dryer were great and we appreciated the quick wash setting. The beds were very comfortable and kept us rested and ready for the day. This was our second time staying at Menehune Shores and love how spotless the grills and pool area are kept. We did have a couple of hiccups but Sharon was quick to respond and communicate. We would absolutely stay again!

Overall a great stay! Affordable and a wonderful location. Only downfall was how hot the unit got without AC. We were expecting the windows open and ocean winds at night would cool it down a bit but even with all the fans, it still was around 80 at night (same as during the day) in the condo. Not the hosts fault because they did advertise accurately just something to know if you are used to AC! Wonderful little beach for kids and if you need an affordable place to stay and are used to warmer weather, this is a great spot.

Pamela, the host, always responded immediately to messages. The unit is PERFECT for couples and the view can’t be beat. We loved eating breakfast out on the lanai. Eating dinner was also nice, depending on what time it was. The sunset can be overwhelming. The location was also great for our planned activities. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Maui! Location of this place is fantastic.. steps away from the beach (which we walked every morning), plus you are a few minutes drive away from the busier areas of Kihei. It's super quiet within the unit.. we couldn't hear anyone above or below us, which was really nice. A/C in both bedrooms living room was superb. Other conveniences such as key code locking, beach supplies (umbrellas, chairs, etc), laundry, and a well stocked kitchen really adds to the value of the unit. We would not hesitate to book again. Menehune Shores is a very enjoyable place to stay. We took full advantage of the pool and there is a bar/restaurant located right downstairs. Just a couple of minor improvements that could be made would be to update the bed linens and curtains in the unit. Also, there is no lock on the patio door, but this isn't a big deal as you are on the third floor. Honestly, don't hesitate to book this place, you won't be disappointed!

We had five in our group and had an excellent stay. There was plenty of room for all of us and everything that we could possibly need was supplied. Location was perfect for us to get out and explore. The views were amazing and though we didn’t use it much the roof was a great place to sit and socialize. We ate at the Monsoon Grill which was very convenient and tasty. Property was just as expected. I was traveling with my elderly mom who uses a walker. It was necessary for me to have an elevator or bottom floor.( It is at least 50 yards from elevator)Beautiful beach view from lanai. Beach chairs and umbrellas were provided. Refrigerator had ice maker and filtered water had I known that I would not have bought a case of water. This place had everything we needed! Highly recommend- already did to my friend! The property itself is a good location and the grounds are maintained (with exception of bugs), but unfortunately our stay in Unit 106 was DISAPPOINTING and the unit is in serious need of a DEEP CLEAN and MAJOR UPDATES. When we arrived, the front door would not open and we were told it had swollen from the rain. Once inside, the floors were EXTREMELY DIRTY and the kitchen counters and cabinets were worn, chipped and outdated. The kitchen supplies were especially concerning, the dishes, pots, and pans were OLD and UNSANITARY, and we did not feel comfortable using them to cook. We were also only given less than a quarter roll of paper towels for our stay. Bugs on counters were also disgusting. The couch had a cover on it and did not resemble the photos in the listing. The master bathroom tub was chipped, rusted, and had an old plastic device sitting in it to hold bath water, which did not feel hygienic for bathing our granddaughter.Both bedroom closets were completely full. The master closet held lamps, a suitcase, and other unknown items, while the second closet was packed with OLD beach chairs and umbrellas. While appreciated, they took up all the storage space.The master bedroom window was BROKEN and taped, the curtains were makeshift and couldn’t be opened fully, and the windows and PLASTIC blinds were very dirty. I did take a look around and other units windows were clean. This unit has potential, but it did not meet expectations for comfort or cleanliness.

This condo was better than imagined. The space is beautifully decorated, very clean, and comfortable. The beds and pillows are like sleeping on clouds. We used the beach chairs, cooler, and umbrella every day! There was a large variety of beach/pool items. We loved watching the sunset off the lanai every night and walking the tide pool in the mornings. The property grounds are beautiful and the staff is friendly. The pool is clean and refreshing. Even the restaurant in the building is amazing! This was the perfect home base for our Honeymoon while traveling around the island. We will definitely be back!

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT property!!! This rental was SUPER clean, and conveniently located so that travel to tourist areas were achieved with little travel time! Beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels and beach towels for the week. We loved having the washer/dryer available to clean wet swim suits and was towels. Parking was very easy although we never got the chance to register the car with the office as they were only open 9-2! We left each day around 8-8:30 and returned around 3-4 so missed getting this accomplished. It would be nice if there was some way to register the vehicle through a night drop box! The hosts had excellent communication and addressed any and all issues that were mentioned! The rental was so near the beach that we walked on it each evening, even seeing a large beached turtle one evening! The kitchen was well equipped and there were beach chairs and umbrellas for use which really made a day at the beach nice! I would highly recommend this property for rental!!!

We stayed after the storms and there were quite a few insects including cockroaches in the sink. we were unable to use the kitchen which was the point of booking a VRBO so our family could spend time together. Great stay at Menehune 505! The condo is very well maintained, clean, and perfect for families. The kitchen is fully stocked, making it easy to cook meals at home. We loved having beach gear (chairs, umbrella, cooler), plus plenty of kids’ games and sand toys for our daily outings.There’s a beach area directly south of the property (a “fish pond”) that’s ideal for small children. The property also offers two separate grilling areas with picnic tables, which are great for larger group outdoor meals.Each bedroom has its own AC unit, which was a big plus, and the rooftop deck is great for sunsets. The pool was clean and inviting. (note: there is no hot tub). Jim was an excellent host—very communicative and helpful, especially during the recent Maui flooding.Highly recommend!
