Amazing view to wake up to. Good beaches right out your door. OK pool. Unit is dated and some things didn’t work that well (e.g. freezer, shower, vacuum). Loved having 3 bedrooms and single beds for the kids. Great to have a kitchen and washer dryer. Overall a good stay.

I will look for a different place to stay in next time I visit. Positive’s -Two of the three bedrooms face the ocean so the view is nice when waking up. There are plenty of pots, pans and dishes-lots of beach towels-The host was very nice Negative’s-two master beds are really uncomfortable, and hard as a rock. -The comforter in the master is dingy and has holes. -The sheets were peeling. -I changed my sheets and a crispy bug fell out- A pillow case in the room with the two twin beds smelled horrible like it had been slept in (maybe the pillow) - behind the beds and furniture is dusty and ignored when cleaning. -The main shower did not warm up or have good pressure -The floors felt gross upon arrival. We all take our shoes off in the house so we noticed it right away. -We ended up having a cockroach infestation which gave me the heebie-jeebies, I didn’t sleep well because of this (and the hard bed) The host said they bomb every few months to keep them out but in my opinion that should be happening more often so they don’t pop up on guests.I saw a total of 5 live ones all different sizes and two dead ones in the closet and under the bed.I did notify the host and she had some roach bait dropped off, that helped. I had to wash 3 suitcases full of clothes and spray them out when I returned home to assure I didn’t bring and roaches home. The host did try her best to accommodate the situation. Location was decent, but not great.

Condo was super nice! We had everything we needed for our stay. Kitchen had all the cookware and amenities you could ask for. We woke up to a big window looking out over the ocean. Balcony was great for beautiful sunsets. Wish we could have stayed longer. Linda was great to work with. She answered questions we had immediately. Would highly recommend!

Our family of 4 adults, 1 child and 1 baby thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking from the lanai, the living room, or even both main bedrooms. We're already missing the sound of the ocean waves! Baby slept great - we used a Maui baby gear rental company and Linda was absolutely great with accomodating so our entire stay was enjoyed, stress free. We loved watching the sea turtles, swimming in the ocean and the pool, playing shuffleboard and BBQing on the rooftop and by the beach (do both!) The condo was well equipped with everything we needed, including 2 cooler bags, beach umbrellas, chairs, all the things for cooking, and we barely ever ran the A/C because the cross breeze is refreshing enough. If you're wondering where to stay in Kihei, this is it! Mahalo for the great time! We'll be back!

A group of 6 women celebrating their 50+ years of friendship and 70th birthdays, thoroughly enjoyed this Condo. Getting up each morning to enjoy coffee and breakfast on the lanai was so peaceful. The view was amazing and the turtles were in the fish pond everyday. The condo was just as advertised and all questions were quickly responded to by Linda. Thank you for sharing this little piece of Paradise with us.

We had a perfect time at menehune shores!
Condo was awesome and location was perfect for whale watching from our balcony (we had an ocean front view), walking the beach and the fish pond right out front with sea turtles. Close to town and restaurants.

This condo is about the location and view. Older complex, but so well maintained. The condo was so great with such a great view. We did not even have to turn on the AC, open up the house and the breeze was so nice. Only issue was that the master bath sink was slow. Also, the two bathrooms could use bath mats. The kitchen was well stocked with all you need to cook. Highly recommended this condo and will be back.

Booked because of 3 bedrooms, air and tv in each bedroom(because we had 3 groups and felt it would be nice that each group had a place to get away and relax), and also for the location.
The very large air conditioner unit was located on the patio and blew so much hot air we could not even stand to sit out there enjoy the beautiful ocean view a meal or drink. That was very disappointing because the view is beautiful from there.
TV in the third bedroom did not work. A remote on the night stand gave written instructions as to how to turn on the cable tv. Called unit manager was told the TV was only for DVD's and Videos...we told her there was NO DVD or VIDEO player in the room. Then she changed her answer saying it didn't work because they stapled through the cable line when they put in the dry wall,(should of been fixed then!) after she had just told us there was no cable in this room. Why then have a remote control with instructions how to turn the cable on if they knew there was none?? Manager said it would be checked the next day but it never was.
There was also one strip of the blind missing in that 3rd room which felt very uncomfortable for our daughter who was staying in that room.
The refrigerator ran very hot and it made working in the kitchen uncomfortable. We only ran the dishwasher once and it left everything dirty, even though the dishes had been rinsed before putting them in it. We did dishes by had the rest of the week.
You had to be very careful using the wash machine because, as the instruction state, too much suds could cause flooding in the unit below and if this happened then you'd be held responsible.
We were also told via email with the Unit Manager that there would be a cooler, there was not one. There were beach towels and chairs which was nice.
The unit itself is very nice, and it was very clean. I just think that if you show a tv in each room on your VRBO site, then they should all work, that was misleading. The refrigerator??? they may want to find out why it runs so hot. And the blinds should be fixed.
All petty things, but they would make the place perfect. It is a great location, close to stores, grocery, and dinning, with a nice beach, and swimming pool. The property is well taken care of. The condo itself just needs a little attention.
There was also very loud pounding and drilling under us 3 full days and we were never told this was going to happen, it was so loud we couldn't stay during the day.

This condo was really good for our family of 5. 3 bedroom rentals are rare in Maui and the ones that are around are very expensive. This one was reasonably priced. The view every morning and day is the best part. Direct view of the ocean allows you to watch whales, turtles(they sun bathe in the rock sanctuary next to the condo) ships and people. The condo is a bit dated but had all things we needed to enjoy our stay. There was lots of room in the unit to move around and enjoy. The only suggestion would be to update the couch, living room chair pillows and bed pillows. We found the rooms each had blinds that were good enough to block out the light for sleeping. The condo complex was taken care of extremely well. Everyday crews were cleaning the on-site pool, wiping pool chairs or mopping floors and cleaning the numerous bbqs that are available to cook on. There’s a huge roof top area with amazing views and lots of space for cooking and eating if you choose to eat outside. The location was great as it was next to a few nice beaches and close enough to shops, but not too close to have all the loud commotion of people. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our 5th trip to Maui, but first time to Menehune Shores. The unit was very well equipped with all necessities for cooking/ grilling, and the beach. We were able to watch whales right from the lanai. The rooftop area with the grills was nice too, especially around sunset. The rocked in beach area is only about 2-3 feet deep, which was great for our young children. There were also turtles in that area every morning. This condo met or exceeded most of our families needs, and we will definitely look for this listing again on our next trip to Maui!

This property is located in a great spot near the airport and accessible to many of the places to visit on west side of island. The unit itself has a sunset side view of the ocean with big windows overlooking the water. We enjoyed some nice sunsets from the balcony and could see whales from the deck breaching in the bay. The unit had all that we needed for the stay and was clean and well organized. Amenities are within minutes drive in Kihei or further south in Wailea. We found that the unit was well set up for cooking in the unit with all the utensils we needed, but you will need to buy pretty much everything for the meal you are preparing--spices and other basics were sparse, not even cooking oil was in the pantry. While we were there, A/C was out from a power surge, but the ventilation and the ceiling fans were sufficient to keep things cool, recognizing this was in January.
Down sides are that the unit is on the 3rd floor above the restaurant and near the pool and grilling patio. The lights down there stay on all night and the blinds are so-so for keeping the rooms dark, especially the second bedroom. Travelers needing dark rooms for sleeping should reconsider. The ocean wave noise is constant and it was great to fall asleep to this. There was minimal other noise that might be a distraction to sleepers at night. If we come back to Maui, would definitely consider staying here again.

We had a wonderful stay. Location is excellent. Host very responsive. Beds are comfy and condo is well stocked and roomy. Did not need air conditioning as ocean breeze thru windows kept the temp just right. Loved listening to waves at night and watching whales right from the lanai.

Note: parking is very limited and you have to check in at the office which has very limited hours for your parking permit. Sounds like they will also be limiting parking to 1 vehicle/unit.
