Our family of seven stayed for about a week and the condo was perfect. Three bedrooms and three baths. I really enjoyed the fact that there were beach chairs and towels for us to use. Laundry as well right in the condo. Great location, warm pool, And just a lovely experience. Great communication with the owner as well.

This unit was great very spacious had room for us and all of our kids. All the bedrooms and bathrooms had plenty of space. The owner was really good about setting up all the rooms, so everything in this unit function great and we had what we needed to have a great trip. We would definitely stay here again

This was our first trip to Maui and we really enjoyed our stay. The property is as listed, no surprises. It was nicely stocked. The response time of the manager was good. We did arrive quite late, the office was closed, but there was a security guard who gave us our keys and told us to check in in the morning. All went smoothly. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and it cooled the place nicely. We were on the top floor. The views both out the front door of the mountains was breathtaking and the views out the back deck were great as we could see the resort grounds (including pool) and ocean. We could actually watch the whales off our deck (bring binoculars for better look). The grounds are beautifully kept. The pool was a nice decent temperature. We also enjoyed just sitting on the ocean edge and watched the sea life. We used the Lanai area by the pool to sit out at night and play games. We also used the tennis court - just need to book your time with the front desk (for an hour), and those were nice facilities. We were able to walk across to some restaurants (there is a pizza restaurant that is wonderful), get shaved ice, there is a make your pancake house a block away, a BBQ place that was always busy so we never went. If you take a left out of the resort, there was a nice ABC store for souvenirs and then across the street there was a coffee shop and market that sells Vegan lunches (fairly decent). It is a fairly busy resort area and generally felt safe.

The condo was roomy and an amazing view. We saw whales every day from the balcony. There were beach chairs in the room we took to the beach, beach towels, spices for cooking, comfy beds, and the 3 bathrooms were a huge plus! Beach bags, boogie boards, snorkle gear, and beach umbrellas were very enjoyable! Definitely 5 stars! Christine was very responsive and helpful through the process! Will definitely be back to this condo!

We were exceedingly pleased with our stay. The views from the balcony are hard to beat! Our kids loved the beautiful pool, we enjoyed the hot tub, and it was just a great place to stay. There is a great souvenir shop within walking distance from the location.
The property manager was responsive and answered any questions I sent her. She was mindful of making our stay extra special and we really appreciated the care and extra support we were given. There was a hiccup on check-in, but it was my fault. I did not read the initial instructions well enough so make sure and look at those. You check into the front desk building which is to the right as you drive into the parking lot.

We absolutely loved our stay at Papakea over Christmas. Just like the reviews said, the view from the Lanai is stunning. I spent every morning and night out there. We even saw whales from the lanai. We ate many meals on the lanai. The condo fit our family great. 2 married couples, one infant and 2 young adults with mom and dad in the loft. The third bathroom is a lifesaver. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved having the washer and dryer in the condo. There were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, and boogie boards. The resort is so beautiful. We loved the pool, hot tub, and gazebo. We grilled and ate a couple of meals out there. These were my favorite days. We also loved the pickleball courts, the back entrance to the ABC store, and the great location to the grocery store and food truck park. The only negative is that there is not a great beach area attached to the property. The beach in front of Duke's is only a 10 minute walk. Relaxing on the grass in the lounge chairs at the waters edge on the property was one of my favorite things. I loved that the property didn't feel as crowded as some that we passed on the beach. Maui is wonderful. We had the best time.

We arrived on Sunday before the 80 mph winds & the Lahaina Fire, so we were only able to reside at the condo for 2 days. The resort was relaxing, many things were easily within driving distance. The host was outstanding in discussing with us how we could possibly get our luggage back to our home in Illinois if we were unable to retrieve it before we left, discussed several alternatives. We were able to get to our luggage on Friday. The host was great handling this emergency, hopefully it won't happen again.

Loved our stay! Would definitely come back! We’re family of 8, with 6 adults and 2 kids (12 & 14). The kitchen/living room area is a bit cozy. While pictures make it look bigger than it is, it was still adequate space – we weren’t in the condo much. AMAZING ocean and sunset views from the balcony!!! Relaxing for coffee, reading, meals and cocktails! Kitchen was well stocked with spices, cooking utensil and pots/pans. Appreciated the nice touch of having bodywash in all the bathrooms. Numerous beach necessities: chairs, umbrellas, towels, everything you could need!!! Gorgeous grounds!! And the area is quite. A 5-15 minute walk south has you at a number of beaches. Really enjoyed the lounge chairs at the sea wall, wonderful to enjoy the view and have a break from sand! Condo is a short walk away from the grocery store and a number of restaurants. Christine was quick to respond and wonderful to work with! Highly recommend!!!

The unit is nicely organized and designed. Our family of seven adults had a very comfortable stay and ample space for everyone. We appreciate all the kitchen amenities including the available spices present in the cupboard. The beds are quite comfortable. Beach toys are also available which we’ve used especially snorkeling at Honolua Bay.
We would definitely stay here again! The sunrise and sunset views in the balcony are priceless!!!

My husband and I and our 30 thirty something kids plus their spouses (so 8 people total) stayed here for a week in May-it was perfection. Christine answered every one of my questions promptly and completely-also gave helpful advice re restaurants.
The grounds are beautiful-large stocked Koi ponds, tropical landscaping, beachfront, plenty of colorful birds and a small cat colony that we had fun spotting the sunsets!!!
Amenities were also great-we enjoyed a hotly contested shuffleboard tourney, playing tennis and walking along the tidepool, reef wall at low tide. Also enjoyed the Mai Tain happy hour:)
The condo itself was wonderful-it was beyond convenient to have 6 beach chairs and plenty of beach towels provided. There were also two coolers we made use of The kitchen was very well stocked with lots of spices and seasonings. Beds were comfy and showers were luxurious.

The condo is spacious, clean, and beautiful. It has spices and beach gears for us to use. Awesome view from the lanai and the beach. Tons of activities nearby. We (3 couples) loved the weather, the location, and the accessibility to different activities nearby.

What a great place and wonderful amenities. The two pools were great and having beach towels and snorkel gear was key. Sunsets were unbelievable. I would suggest shopping at Costco when you land at airport or Safeway grocery store.

Resort was quiet and peaceful, which we enjoyed. The lanai has a stunning view towards Molokai across the water. Enough bed space for 8 plus 2 more on sofa bed. AC units in all sleeping areas plus loads of different electric fans. Well equipped kitchen. Walking distance to supermarket, pizza place, shaved ice, live music bar. Other thoughtful touches like picnic cooler, beach toys for kids, boogie boards and extra beach towels are all there. Resort has its own activities, 2 pools, tennis court, etc. Easy check-in and check-out. 5 stars from me for the host, the unit, the resort and everything about this stay.

We were a group of 8 ranging in age from 11-75. We were in Hawaii celebrating our mom's 75th birthday, my sister's 50th birthday, and my niece's HS graduation. Our time on Maui was spectacular and this condo provided the perfect amount of space and comfort for our group. The view from the patio was beautiful and a perfect spot for our morning coffee. The pools and beach access were excellent. The host was very communicative and responded quickly to any messages. The location was perfect as well. I would definitely stay here again if I ever found myself back on Maui!

This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed at Papakea. Overall a good experience with this specific unit. There was hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived and the toaster wouldn’t work. But the owner of the unit responded immediately when we reached out to notify her. We did see 2 large roaches. Not sure if that’s common here on the island or if it was an issue with this specific unit. The view is beautiful!

We had a wonderful stay. Was great to have the boogy boards, beach chairs, beach towels all provided. Nice selection of spices, so no need to shop for those things. Had two one year old's with us so rented an additional pack-n-play, highchair and added a gate for stairs. I would say the gate is a necessity if children are staying as the stairs are fairly steep, risers are open at back, and railing gap is quite large. Christine was highly responsive to any questions we had. There is a great beach (no waves) and park for little ones, just a short walk away. Plenty of dining options within walking distance.

First thank you so much for the use of your cozy and comforting home for our stay here on the island. It worked out perfectly for our family and we are so appreciative of the extra mile you went with all of the amenities as well as the extended check out.
All of the bathroom liens have been washed, dried, folded and returned to their spots with the exception of a couple currently in the dryer with all of the bedding we used. Which has been washed and just finishing the dryer cycle.
We wiped down the bathrooms and kitchen with Clorox (exception maybe the bathroom sink off the front door, daughter was in there last).
Really should just need a quick mop/vacuum, bed liens returned and should be all ready to go.
Again we thank you for your hospitality. We have many great memories we will take with us including gathering several times as a larger family to join in meals together while overlooking the ocean.
We are checked out and headed back to the cold.

We love staying at this property. I stayed here with my husband, my mother who is 78 years old, and my two daughters who are 19 and 21. It was just the perfect amount of room for us and we were so happy that my mother did not have to walk up stairs to get to her room and bathroom. It was well equipped with everything we needed. The location of the condo is central to many activities and cool beaches. The view from the condo was amazing! We would stay here again.

This place is huge and so comfortable. Although we stayed with a family of 4, this cond could accomate a much large group. The views from the porch during the day and at night (stars) is magical.
The complex is clean and there is plenty to do for all ages.

We, 5 adults, stayed in this condo and had plenty of space. I believe this condo sleeps 8. You have all the comforts of home, but you are in paradise! All the beach chairs, towels, etc. are provided for your enjoyment. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and is where we had coffee and breakfast every morning. The landscaping at the resort is so beautiful. We also liked the location of the condo which is appx. 8 min. drive to downtown Lahaina. Also, 2 blocks from the entrance of the resort is the food truck plaza -- delicious! A grocery store is 1 block away. Dealing with the property manager, Christina, was a delight. You will be so happy that you stayed at this resort! We look forward to returning and making more wonderful memories!

Perfect for a family and friends. We spent the last two weeks of summer at the condo. The resort is wonderful. We had for teens staying in the loft. They had plenty of room and I appreciated that they had their own bathroom. The location of the condo is perfect. The kids could walk to the food carts, ice cream, coffee shop etc. We also loved the size of the kitchen as two of us could fit in there at the same time. Very unusual for a condo! My family and I would definitely stay here again. The view from the lanai was absolutely gorgeous. My family and I love all the amenities in the room from beach chairs to coolers. All of these items came in handy. I have no complaints, except for the master bedroom shower door often got off track, but it could have been user error.

Stayed in April for 6 nights and had a great time. The view from the lanai was better than I expected. Set up perfectly to have coffee every morning and dinner in evening with ocean view. Kitchen is well stocked with quality pots and pans. Plenty of space, just keep in mind the loft is open to the condo. There is privacy for changing, but will hear everything going on below. Also, the steps are steep, so recommend only those with good balance use upstairs loft area. We put the teens up there, so it was perfect.
Two queen beds in loft, full bath with two sinks made it perfect for sharing.
Having three full bathrooms was amazing. Be patient with the A/C, it took a few hours to cool down initially, but then we were comfortable the rest of our trip. Location is great. Grocery store and dining across the street was nice. There is a food truck area located next to resort with lots of options. The condo has an ocean wall out front. Initially I thought this would be a negative, but it was perfect for watching the sunset, or just laying by the ocean in a lounger reading. The kids took dinner out there to eat a couple nights. The resort is very well maintained and relaxing. To get to the beach, all you need is to walk 2 minutes over to the left and there are full sand beaches, or 5 min drive to the Black Rock area. Everything we needed for beach was available. There were 4 chairs, beach towels, plenty of beach toys, snorkel gear, and beach blankets. The only suggestion I would make is it's probably time for an internal painting and the case on the living room ceiling fan was missing, making it a little loud at night. Easy fixes. I would definitely stay here again.

Just got back home from our 4 night vacation at this location. What a perfect place to stay at. The location is perfect, right at the beach, lovely property with renovated kitchen and baths. The grounds are meticulously kept. My sons loved the pool, I loved the hot tub. The unit was comfortable, clean, everything functioned well. We had an ocean view from the deck and the binoculars were in constant use. I Loved the shower head in the master bathroom. Having a kitchen to cook (which we did 90% of the time) and a washing machine really made our trip easy. We saved money, felt normal instead of sick on restaurant food and we packed half the clothing we would have otherwise packed.
We loved and used the beach toys, the body boards and chairs got the most use.
We learned not to fish from the sea wall (stick to public beach access) and not to hang towels from the railing or leave shoes outside the doors.

Beautifully remodeled 3Br/3Bath penthouse on the fourth floor. Comfortably slept our 8 adult guests and had plenty of accomodations including towels, snorkel gear and cooking supplies. BBQ's out by the pool.
Just an FYI, there is a 17$ a night resort fee that is not included in the VRBO listing. Don't let it take you by surprise!

Aloha! Thank you Christine for sharing your wonderful home with us this summer. Our 2 families of 4 had plenty of space to soak up the Aloha spirit with out stepping on each other. The loft with queen beds for the kids was ideal, especially with their own bathroom. We enjoyed coffee on the lanai as the sun rose each morning and the sunsets as well down by the water. What a view! The whole Papakea property is well kept and the pool temp is perfect. BBQs were great for a home cooked meal. All the chairs, towels, cooler, etc were really helpful and made days at the beach all the more enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Papakea again. Great location to head any directly on Maui. Close to shops, restaurants, and the beach. Mahalo.

Very nice place with a great view from the lanai. Had some coolers and beach gear (umbrella, boogie boards, etc) to help enjoy beach days. Has a nice TV and movie selection. Would like to see better instructions for use of the TV remotes. However, that wasn’t the focus of our vacation so not a big deal for us. We knew there wasn’t beach access directly from this unit so that wasn’t a problem for us either. We could walk just to the south across the bridge over the canal but the beaches there are small and crowded so we preferred Whaler’s Village or public access from the Westin (no parking fee). Great time overall and we would certainly consider stayng here again.

This place was perfect for our group. The place is nice, well kept, and spacious. The view from the balcony was amazing for morning coffee with friends. The bedrooms are very comfortable and large. 3 full bathrooms!!! The place had a washer and dryer and a full kitchen. She also had beach accessories (towels, snorkel, body board, cooler...) available. Highly recommend staying here. Came for a wedding and a lot of our other friends dislike their surrounding places. Extra bonus is that each room had their own wall mounted A/C unit. Location was perfect, have lots of restaurants and grocery store nearby.
