Wonderful view and kitchen and bath. No air conditioning, but. didn't need it! Fans worked perfectly and breeze from the ocean was great. Love that it is on the 3rd floor, more privacy! Host was so easy to work with and accommodating! We hope to be back when they have an opening!

This condo is an amazing location and the owner was very communicative in booking questions. I would stay here again. Condo is very nice. Only thing that could make it better would be AC, but the fans do a good job. It was never too hot.

My husband and I had an amazing time in Kaanapali. The accommodations were beautiful and in the perfect location. We were able to watch dolphins from the Lanai, which was amazing. Our room wasn’t ready until about 45 minutes after our check in time, but that wasn’t a big deal. We had a great time overall. Hopefully we will be back again!

Place was exactly as described and worked well for our needs. We were there in early June and it was never too hot without A/C. Given the close proximity to the waves crashing - we would've preferred keeping the patio door open anyways. Thanks!

We absolutely love the Papakea and find the property to be meticulously groomed with such a great family vibe and low foot traffic. It has access to Kaanapali Beach within a short walk! This condo has an amazing view of Molokai and great ocean sounds all day. The bed and furnishings were very comfortable. We had a fantastic stay!

Ocean front is the way to go. This condo had a fantastic view. The lanai was the place to be. The amenities were fine. Would definitely book this place again.

Great location and amenities. We enjoyed our stay. The host was responsive and accommodating to all requests. 4 stars simply due to the lack of AC in the unit. Opening the doors and windows helped but some nights it was still a bit warm.

Nice ocean view from this condo. Saw whales almost every day from the lanai. The condo doesn't have air conditioning but in March/April it was not missed. Nice breeze comes through the unit. Everything we needed to cook with was there for our use. Would definitely stay there again.

What a beautiful condo! Breathtaking views of the ocean from the condo and gorgeous inside too! The condo is well equipped (including boogie boards, golf clubs for the pitch and putt, beach chairs, umbrellas). The grounds are beautiful with a heated pool, and a huge hot tub. We had a blast and hope to be back one day!!

The property was quite nice and we were happy with the condo. It was not ready @ 3:00 as promised. The staff of the larger property were very nice. Stay away from the concierge company the resort uses. He messed up a reservation that left $500+ locked up on my card for over three days. The company, Blue Hawaiian, made promises at several levels to resolve the issue and NONE of those assurances were kept. Plus they charged way more than going straight to the venue. So... nice resort, good condo... not getting in on time was a hassle, associated company a bust.

We stayed at Papakea for 17 nights at Rob Mapes condo - A304 with our daughter staying with us for five nights. Everything was comfortable except the sleeper sofa. It was a super stay. Rob is very communicative and easy to deal with. The condo is exactly as stated. The Resort is THE best! Absolutely an enjoyable time!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay. The room (and the view!) is exactly as described, and is stocked with everything you'd need for the beach. We were really impressed with just how much was provided: boogie boards of various sizes, pool noodles, snorkel gear, coolers, golf clubs - everything you'd need to enjoy the condo, the beach, and the resort. The unit is clean, the mattress is very comfortable, and the shower is lovely. The resort is close to Lahaina and Kaanapali, and within walking distance to grocery stores and a few decent places to eat. Parking and the check in/out process are straightforward and easy.
We were surprised at just how much beach/ocean access we had from the property. Some reviews made it sound like there wasn't a beach...yes there is. It's just small, that's all. There isn't a lot of sand for laying out, but there is the upper grassy area with lounge seating for that. There's also a reef along that stretch of beach, which was fun for snorkeling. Turtles regularly passed by as well, and are easy to see from the lanai if snorkeling isn't your thing.
The only caveat would be the lack of air conditioning. This detail is clearly noted in the owner's description, and we knew about it going in, so this is not a complaint (and it didn't affect our rating). I imagine for most of the year, the room doesn't need A/C. Opened windows and the ceiling fans do cool the unit down a lot, but maybe not enough during August and September. I understand that many don't mind it, and that's fair, but others could struggle like we did. This is a wonderful place to say and we highly recommend it, but for those who are heat sensitive, just be mindful of what time of year you're visiting. We would definitely stay here again.

This well maintained and manicured resort exceeded our expectations. It's not one of those modern stuffy resort hotels. It's much more laid back and had that old school Hawaiian feel to it. Just what we needed, lots of quality R & R !!! Our unit was well decorated, well equipped and the ocean view was just the icing on the cake!! ALOHA!

Great location, equipped kitchen, some beach toys and chairs provided, didn't need anything extra.
Parking was never a problem. Close to Kaanapali and Lahaina town center.
9 day stay in August 2022.
Only one small thing... maybe new flooring in the bedroom for cooling it down, maybe tile?
Other than that, thank you for a great experience, we will be back in the future.

The unit was very clean and well maintained. It had all the necessary amenities to enjoy Hawaii. It was a bit of unknown since the owner didn't know exactly what was available as things can get broken, but it had several coolers, toys, snorkels, bags. No AC in the unit but the afternoon tradewinds cooled the place down nicely. Plenty of fans provided.
The nightly sunrise & sunsets were amazing. The property was beautiful and well taken care of. Highly recommend this unit. We will be back!

We had a great time in A304. It had all of the amenities we needed. We loved the ocean view and were able to see some whales. Close to parking, the pool, the ABC store and some running routes. Papakea Resort is clean, and well kept. I would certainly book again.

Wonderful location and a property. Larger unit than appeared in the photos.
Sea wall means less easy access to the water, but can still go out. No sandy beach means the resort is much more quiet. Super family friendly resort also.
Actually found the snorkeling right out front of the property to be very nice. Good variety of fish.

This was the perfect rental for my wife and I. The sounds of the waves were relaxing to fall asleep to and wake up to. There was always a breeze flowing through the unit, so there was no need for air conditioning. The grounds of the resort are very well maintained and in close proximity to all your basic needs. We definitely plan to stay here again when we return to Maui.

Spent entire time on lanai with beach / waves our front yard! Love the grounds at Papakea. Lot’s of green space! Pool / hot tub so close! Comfy king size bed with trade winds blowing thru without AC very comfortable! We will stay here again!
