This property was perfect for our stay The layout was spacious enough for our family. The kitchen is very well stocked and has everything you could want or need for meal prep/cooking. A full sized washer and dryer made laundry so easy as I’m very used to seeing the compact versions in units. The unit has nicely updated bathrooms and the beds were quite comfortable. We spent mornings and evenings enjoying the stunning views from the patio. An unexpected bonus was a large selection of board games, cards, and books. The location is great, and it is an easy walk to several nearby beaches, a quick drive to restaurants and shopping, and exploring. Communication with the property management was fantastic! Every email had all the pertinent information, and all my additional questions received prompt replies. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed over the new year holiday and while the location of the property was great the unit is showing its age in many locations. The chairs outside by the table are old and paint is falling off. There is very little places to sit on patio which is the best part of the unit and huge. We had to find the 4th chair that was hidden under the stairs. The labels for the switches have faded away so they are hard to read. The showers both seem to be in need of new doors and a deep clean. The bedding and rug did not match the pictures. The plantation shutters are mostly broken. Overall the location is excellent and watching the sunset and the waves crash on the rocks tried to make up for the condition of the unit. Overall would not stay again especially for the price.

I have been using VBRO (and formerly HomeAway) for over a decade and have always had very positive experiences. No complaints with VBRO. However, this property was the first I've ever rented that was managed by Vacasa, vs a private owner, and this is my first bad review. The condo property itself & location were nice. However, I've never been in a unit that was so poorly stocked. We were a party of 6 staying 8 days and were provided just 3 kitchen trash bags, one roll of TP in 1 bathroom and 2 rolls in the other. Only 5 coffee mugs. There was one pasta pot (fine) but every other pot & pan was about 6", barely large enough to cook or 2. More troubling was, we went to use, what was a large, nice rice cooker only to find it had been put away, uncleaned and was moldy with rotten rice and infested with little flies. I called/texted the numbers provided for local assistance but received no response. Only after messaging via VBRO that I received any response and then it took over 48 hours to come pick up the cooker (which we put on the porch) and replace it with a tiny one. I also texted the local contact about more trash bags, but never received a response so we improvised with our opened Christmas boxes. The master bath also has no actual towel bars but just cheap Command strip hooks so towels never dry. Master bath shower fixtures also old and corroded with a handle missing. Long story short, I will continue to rent via VBRO but never again a Vacasa managed property.

The lodging is roughly as expected given the provided pictures and amenities listed in Vrbo. The location was a big plus; you are right next to Poipu's ocean cliffs, the southernmost point on the island, so you have unobstructed views of sunrise / sunset via a short 3-5 min walk.
However, our trip experience was hampered by an unresponsive host experience. We found a large cockroach in the lodging upon return from our first dinner in Kauai. The hosts told us to expect critters given the tropics, although I've been to Hawaii twice before and this was the first time I've had a cockroach problem. We immediately communicated to the host that we'd like to be moved to another, cockroach-free unit, if possible. We communicated via the Vrbo app, which we got no response despite multiple follow up messages over the app, and texted another member of the host team that came to meet us when we were moving into unit. Again, no response from that individual. We had to find the local Pipou Reality (host company) office, located a town over, and knocked on their door during business hours, but still had no response. There was a business card hanging in the window of the office which we called the number on, and then finally, after calling the number 3-4 times, someone picked up and heard our case (they did nothing, but hey at least we got a response!).
All this to say this: stay at your own risk. The lodging is fine, but I wouldn't trust the management team to solve any problems that arise

Condo over all was clean and had amazing beds. Down side is we were not made aware that the lanai was not usable until we arrived and seen note on the door. At the time of the booking it was available. The hot tub at the complex was down also. After stopping for a weeks worth of food, to save money amd eat in. We ended up having to throw most of it out. As the refrigerator went out the following day. So cost more money to eat out. They did have a cooler, but no where close to get ice. The unit is up stairs which wasn't bad. Overall it was an okay unit. Just a few frustrating things that will keep us from booking again.

The kitchen has all the features necessary to prepare wonderful meals and we enjoyed the use of the barbecues too! Poipu beach has been a favourite place to enjoy snorkelling and it’s a short walk away. Most evenings included a swim in the pool after dinner. We have explored the island and enjoyed the shopping in various areas including a craft show. We have many memories of time well spent on the island and hope to return sometime in the future. We absolutely loved this condo!! The host was amazing at suggesting everything to do, see and eat in the area. The condo is spacious, clean and there was champagne and snacks waiting for us upon checkin. Although no AC, sleeping with the windows open and listening to the waves was so so peaceful. You can walk to Poipu beach to snorkle and see the sea turtles, you can walk to food and coffee, as well as jump on the beautiful heritage trail, that takes you to the Hyatt Beach and to some cliffs with amazing ocean views. You are smack in the middle of Waimea canyon and Hanalei beach, one hour in opposite directions. We saw whales from our balcony and enjoyed every morning on the porch. I would absolutely stay here again!

We booked this unit in Oct 2023. I wanted something truly oceanfront, so that even when we were having a lazy day, I could just step outside and watch the waves. We ate breakfast every morning on the lanai, and saw dolphins go by on multiple occasions. There were always turtles in the water, and the rock formations gave us our own smaller version of the “spouting horn”! Very private end-unit with limited to no passers-by. Nice walking distance to poipu beaches and other resorts. I would not recommend the unit to anyone with mobility issues. It’s a long walk from the parking lot with multiple sets of stairs, including down to the unit itself. Clean unit, could use a mattress topper and more comfortable pillows in the master.

We had a great stay! The location is excellent. The property amenities were very nice. The condo was quiet, comfortable and well equipped. There are beach towels/chairs/cooler to use. The condo unit is a ground floor, so you don't get the trade wind breezes. The ceiling fans were running the entire time, but they are not high enough velocity. We ended up purchasing a Vornado fan at Walmart to help move the air better. Would love to have had blackout curtains on the primary bedroom as there are outdoor property lights on all night.

This was our first trip to Hawaii so we didn’t know what to expect. We opened the front door of this property and saw straight through to the magnificent ocean view from the lanai. We sat looking at that view every sunrise and every sunset. The location in Poi’pu is perfect, close to great restaurants and shops. Everything was clean and well organized when we arrived. This rental was perfect for us. Location is great. Close to so may restaurants, shops, beaches, site seeing and excursions! Plenty of parking available. Somewhat private and very quiet! The condo itself is well stocked with all you would need to prepare a home cooked meal. The AC units and ceiling fans in the bedrooms work fantastic! They were much needed during our stay as it was very hot. The living room and kitchen on the main floor do not have AC as advertised in the listing, but really this was not a problem. There are ceiling fans throughout and an extra fan that we used in the living room in addition to opening the windows and slider for the little time we did spend hanging around in the unit. There is a walking path that runs alongside and beyond the condo right along the water. Beautiful cliff walk with crashing waves. It’s a very nice walk in the right shoes. Great photo opportunities here, especially at sunrise and sunset. Also, you are walking distance to at least 3 beaches! There are 4 nice Tommy Bahama beach chairs with back pockets as well as 4 beach towels in the unit. The half bath on the main floor with full laundry was a nice perk. Upstairs, the two bedrooms both have attached private full bathrooms, which was great for two couples. There is ongoing construction outside the complex, also mentioned in the listing, but this had absolutely no impact on our stay and we still had a fabulous view of the water from the lanai. Would absolutely stay here again!

The photos of the property are accurate. The owners have added two portable AC units in the bedrooms which is helpful cooling the unit down on hot days/nights. Nice hot tub and pool in the middle of the complex. Great views toward the ocean with crashing waves on the rocks and Spinner Dolphins swimming by. Overall we were very happy with our stay and Evelyn at the property management company was very helpful during our stay.

Very comfortable, well furnished, quiet condo. The 3 bedrooms/bathrooms worked perfectly for our group. Terrific views of the ocean/sky through windows on each level. Watching dolphins was a special treat. Pool & hot tub were refreshing/relaxing. A quick walk to beaches, paths, stores, etc. Communication with property management was quick & helpful.
We will definitely recommend this condo to others.

Words cannot express the outstanding view from the lanai. Dolphins were occasionally visible, huge splashes from waves hitting lava rocks is almost indescribable. Condo was very clean and offers comforts of home. The condo location offers so many advantages to restaurants, beaches and road system to all areas of the island.
Excitement level will be high when you open the front door and see the ocean view.
Evelyn, the property manager is wonderful. Very attentive and responsible. Highly recommend this condo.

We loved our time in the very comfortable space. My family of four (including two teenagers) felt we had all the accommodations we needed. The location is ideal. We were able to walk to Poipu beach, the nearby shopping village and a lovely hiking trail that was past the Grand Hyatt. The kitchen was fully furnished with a large fridge. There were beach chairs and umbrellas in the large walk in closet. It was amazing to see both the sunrise and sunset from this location.

This was our first trip to Kauai and the condo location was perfect. It is located very close to beaches and nice walking trails. The condo unit was very clean and was loaded with everything that my wife and I needed. The property manager was very responsive with any questions that we had. I would recommend this condo to anyone that is planning to stay in the Poipu area.

Great Stay, would stay here again. The unit was very clean and comfortable, and Evelyn was very responsive to any questions we had. Excellent location between several great beaches.
I made the mistake of assuming "Air Conditioning" meant Central A/C as I am used to. I was disappointed it was only portable air conditioner units with window vents in the upstairs bedrooms, which are loud to sleep with, but that's on me for not clarifying further. There was no A/C in the downstairs living area, just a fan, so when you came home from a day out it was very warm downstairs and opening the patio and front doors never really cooled it down.
The upstairs carpet and baths could use a refresh, but was otherwise comfortable as long as the a/c unit was on.
None of these are dealbreakers--we'd stay here again.

The condo was perfect - It was comfortable and had plenty of space for the 6 of us. It was well stocked with everything we needed. And it had a beautiful view of the ocean. I was very thankful for the AC in the bedrooms! They did a really good job of keeping the whole condo a comfortable temperature.
We didn’t really need anything during our stay but the one time I texted the property manager she was quick to respond!
We would definitely stay here again.

Loved this place. Location was perfect Beach's both directions. The pool and hot tub great for relaxing. Comfortable and beautiful the bedrooms really nice. I would stay there again also I would recommend it. We used the lawn chairs several times. Had a really nice time.

Great location overlooking ocean. This is a corner unit and fairly private. (The only unit better than this one, would be the top floor) Although, much of the complex is a little dated/worn... this condo was freshly up-to-date and beautiful. A/C is plus and porch is extra large. This two-bedroom has a bigger feel to it because of the large living/kitchen areas. Not all condo units in Hawaii have their own washer & dryer, but this one conveniently does (another bonus). Owner also provided boogie boards, snorkeling gear, and beach towels. We would stay again!

Our first time to Hawaii, and it was magical! Waking up for a cup of coffee with a view, then a quick walk down to the most amazing snorkeling beach…. What a perfect way to start the day! We will definitely be back! Mahalo!

We’ve been to Hawaii more than a dozen times, and this condo is definitely a find, and a value. The unit is well maintained/upgraded, and very tastefully decorated. The bed is very comfortable. The furniture and the kitchen appliances seem new. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware in good condition. Even the beach chairs and umbrella are quality.
The Makahuena complex itself is a bit weathered, and pretty bare-bones, but the grounds are nicely maintained. There seems to be a mix of mainly visitors with some residents. The complex is situated on beautiful lava cliffs that the waves crash against endlessly.
If you come, make sure to visit Poipu beach at sunset to watch the Green Sea Turtles haul themselves onto shore for the night.

This was overall a fantastic place to stay. Easy to access, amazing views and home away from home. We had a few things that need to be improved on. Dishwasher was broken and toaster didn’t work. The bathroom tile could use some cleaning and one of the three shower valves was broken. Overall, we had an amazing time and will return to this property next time!

My husband and I and our friends really enjoyed our stay in the condo! The bedrooms were on opposite ends of the hallway so it was perfect for two couples. The king sized beds were comfortable. We watched breathtaking sunrises every morning from the lanai. (There was construction in the lot next door but it wasn’t blocking the views). We all enjoyed the beautiful pictures and artwork in the condo. We visited Kauai Coffee Company so we were happy the condo had a coffee bean grinder, coffee pot, and Keurig to sample our delicious coffees we bought. The kitchen had quite a few spices, salt and pepper etc. plenty of dishes, pots and pans, wine glasses, blender, tea pot & I even found a pitcher for my fresh brewed iced tea. We appreciated the washer and dryer and downstairs bathroom. The “beach” closet had everything we needed for a day at the beach, a cooler, chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear and really nice beach towels. The grounds to the condo are very pretty and manicured. The pool and hot tub area are well kept and clean. We used the Weber BBQs on the grounds, Although it was a bit of trek from the second story condo to the bbq area we didn’t mind. Everything was comfortable, clean and enjoyable! We had the best time! We would stay here again! Thank you for hosting your beautiful place!

The whole unit stayed cool and we were really comfortable.
The pictures dont fully do the view justice. You can feel the gentle thud of the bigger waves hitting the rocks just steps outside.
You can watch a sunset while having a glass of wine in the evening.

Location is definitely the main positive. The unit itself is quite old. The two smaller bedrooms in fact had a “wet” smell. The manager was easy to reach and was accommodating. Overall, if you’re looking to stay in an oceanfront place without forking over top dollar, this is the place. Just don’t be expecting the ritz carlton.
