There were lots of things to love about this place. I would give the condo itself 5 stars for cleanliness, view, and proximity to the beach. The amenities were great; kitchen was well stocked and had sharp knives (I was pleasantly surprised); beach gear was plentiful. We had dreamy sunsets every evening and loved watching the surfers. We loved getting fresh coconuts from the store downstairs too! We checked in late at night, and the instructions provided to us were unclear as to where to park. That was a little confusing late at night, but we figured it out.I can't believe no one has mentioned the loud vehicles gunning their extremely loud motors outside the facility. I'm not talking about regular road noise. I'm talking about motors so loud that it jolts you out of your sleep in the middle of the night (especially if you're in the second bedroom). To be fair, maybe there's not much the owners can do except make sure the people in their lot are actual patrons of Kona Bali Kai. There seemed to be a lot of this in Kona. There seemed to be sketchy people hanging around the beach regularly after dark. There were some definite cons about this location, but I can't deny the beautiful, clean beach and access to Kona. I loved being right on the oceanfront. That was special. In spite of the significant cons I mentioned, we still managed to have our best vacation ever. Hawaii is pretty amazing.

Holly was exceptional with communication, check in was clear and easy, and she provided great recommendations for things we inquired about. The property is great, right in town and close to everything, with a beautiful ocean view off the lanai. We reached out with a small issue with the unit, Holly addressed it immediately. We highly recommend staying here, and would definitely stay here again if in Kona. Perfect for families or small groups.

The condo is the perfect location to watch the surfers, view the sunsets, and hear the waves. It’s a mile from magic sands beach and about 2 1/2 miles to town where all the restaurants and stores are. Parking was easy and the pool was refreshing. The fully furnished kitchen was great and having a washer and dryer in the condo was a huge benefit. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was great for my family. A couple things that would make this place even better would be a little more privacy. The sliders to the master bedroom don’t lock and the slider shades in that room are see through at night. Also the window in the kitchen and other bedroom don’t have any privacy glass so it is also see through. The bedroom curtain helped though. Overall we had a great stay and the property manager was very kind and brought us new beach chairs, new boogie boards, a new inflatable mattress and a new steamer. We had an unbelievable stay here and would love to come back.

We had a great stay. I will say that for us, the first night was very warm. We arrived late in the evening so the air conditioning didn’t have time to cool things down for us. We ended up buying a bigger fan for use. There are a couple smaller ones in the unit. We appreciated the cooler, beach towels and other beach amenities! Loved watching the surfers each morning right off the balcony. There was great snorkel a few miles down the road at Kahalu’u Beach Park!

The rental was beyond our expectations. It felt just like home and was extremely clean, well stocked both in the kitchen and bathrooms. Soap dispensers were provided along with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The rental also had several beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler for personal use, beach mat, and umbrella. Holly, our amazing host, provided so much and more. She was in constant communication with us, ensuring we made it safely to the condo and provided any additional information that was useful to us. From the minute we walked into the condo, you could feel the amazing breezes from being right there on the ocean. The views were amazing and the sound of the crashing waves was a perfect way to end each night. We will definitely keep this rental in mind when we return next year. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for your next stay in Kona.

I stayed in Mike’s beautiful condo with my 16 and 19 year old grandsons and their mother. It was perfect. Being so close to the ocean and hearing the waves was a special treat. Each morning, when the tide was out, my 16 year old and his mother explored the tide pools right outside. We all saw at least one sea turtle. Mike was a terrific host, always responsive to questions and gave us very good recommendations for restaurants, excursions, shopping, etc. We cooked in the well appointed kitchen and enjoyed eating on the lanai.Everything was Great! This condo was very clean, well supplied and situated perfectly on the beach. We had a great view watching the surfers and just enjoying watching the waves roll in. For people who may have some mobility issues there is an elevator for the upper floors and this unit is air conditioned.

This was our second stay at this amazing unit. Check in is easy, unit is clean and stocked with anything you might need. Views are outstanding. Beds are comfortable and a/c is always much appreciated. A/C added to the second bedroom is wonderful! We love checking out the tide pools and watching the waves and sunsets. This is a beautiful rental in Kona, HI. My family just spent 10 nights here, and it was great. The ocean view is even better than advertised, and easy to get to shopping and the airport in Kona. The place was very clean, well maintained, with all the amenities the host has listed in the description. We would definitely stay at this property again.

When I book condos, I look for 3 things: 1. Does it sleep and seat the amount of people stated, 2. How well stocked is the condo, 3. Does it have parking. This condo clearly meets the seating and sleeping requirement as well as the parking for us but the stocking of supplies is over the top! There were an abundance of towels, spices, shampoos, laundry detergent, blow dryers, plastic wrap, coffee, sheets, pillows and trash bags. We were there for R&R and cooked almost every night without buying extra supplies. And of course the view was spectacular!

The host Holly was quick to respond to my requests. The condo was well stocked with towels, dishes, pots and pans. Some rentals give you only a small supply of paper towels, toilet paper, laundry and dish soap, this rental gave you more than enough. It was well located to grocery stores.Well worth the money.

This place is worth the view! The lanai looks right over the ocean and has patio seating where you can enjoy a meal or just sit outside as the sun sets. If you're looking for a place to stay in Kailua-Kona with a beach front view, this place is great!A couple of notes to keep in mind—the condo has a nice, small kitchen where guests can cook their meals.We found parking to be easy—just have to be sure to follow the parking permit instructions.The host also provided us with some beach chairs and snorkel gear—lots of places to snorkel on the Big Island.The condo itself is older—there are signs that the space has been used well.There isn't AC. This condo, like many others in Hawaii, rely heavily on the trade winds. If you're coming during the warmer months, expect the condo to be warm, even at night. The host provided an upright fan for the bedroom, but the bedroom will still be hot during warmer evenings. You can keep the front screen door open along with the lanai door to help keep the temperature at bay, but we did get really hot during our stay—it's just a part of the Hawaii condo experience. If things get too warm, the complex has a pool area to cool off, or you can find a beach to cool off at.Where the condo is on Ali'i Drive, we really enjoyed the taco stand that's right down the stairs and a 30-second walk down the road. While we didn't get to enjoy the poke place in the complex, many people have said the place is good!

The deck and view were phenomenal. Open the sliders and the sea is right there in all its glory with binoculars included to help you watch for birds and whales. Also the interior space is quite large for the rate and did include a washer, dryer and dish washer. The downside is that the bedroom is on the street side of the condo and REALLY loud with traffic all night and lights shining into the space despite the mini blinds. Also hot and humid in May with no central air or dehumidifier. We wound up sleeping in the living room which was neither comfortable nor practical. Also the little things like toilet paper and body soap were missing. Toiletries and cooking supplies limited to what was left by other renters. So view, location, and cleanliness great but not so solid with creature comforts.

As many reviews had stated this apartment is a little dated, so that was no surprise, but it’s very clean and well stocked, with lots of beach equipment, if you need that. The road noise from the bedroom wasn’t really an issue for us, the traffic settled fairly early in the evening, so apart from an occasional noisy vehicle driving past it was quiet. The sunsets from the apartment are beautiful and watching the ocean from the balcony is very relaxing.

The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed and having the laundry room was a big plus. Everything that we needed was included and there was even portable chairs, umbrellas and beach items! The view was incredible with the ocean just below us and the large balcony was great. The ad stated there were 3 bedrooms but the pictures showed 4 which was perfect for the 8 of us. We definitely would stay again and the May weather was perfect.
