Love the location. Room was great with the exception of the floors it was as if the mop had not been rinsed off enought an it left a film of durt on floors so we were constantly having to wash our feet. I love the place though and will return. Thanks so much for making the rental process so easy.

Enjoyed my stay 2 years ago at this property & had to book it again. Another great experience. I love the location. I got to listen to the waves crashing all night, so relaxing! No issues. Cute lil condo. Would recommend staying here if you’re in Kona & want that ocean view as well as Magic Sands Beach just 2 mins away.

The unit was very clean and the air conditioning was on and worked well. The restaurant that is located at the had very good food and very friendly staff. the beach was nice to have so close by. I didn't go in the pool but it looked clean and inviting. The bed was really comfy. The only problem I had was the kitchen faucet was hard to get shut off completely. I would definitely rent this unit again.

My wife and I had a great stay at this Magic Sands condo. The unit was as advertised and was immaculately clean upon arrival. The unit was updated which was nice. Our favorite spot was sitting on the balcony overlooking the ocean at any time of the day.
The bathroom was also updated and clean.
Saw other comments saying the waves at night kept them awake. For us it wasn't bad and if anything we slept better at night.
The building itself is older but is kept clean and the location is great. We used the pool several times and then sat poolside getting some sun. Magic Sands beach is right next door and we enjoyed watching the wake boarders riding the waves. The unit comes with a reserved parking site on property.

This place is very spacious (being on the corner). It had everything we needed to visit the beach. Cooler, chairs, towels, etc. We only stayed a few nights, but the reserved parking space was very nice and the beach next door was perfect for afternoons. A major grocery store is just mins away via car. Lots of windows let you watch the ocean, and fish activity.

Literally on the ocean where you can watch the sunset over a classic Hawaiian scene. Very convenient location for both Kona and South coast exploration. Beaches on both sides if you are feeling lazy. The one on the south side has good snorkeling if the ocean is calm.

Bryan was so helpful, the booking process was easy and the space lived up to its photos. It was super easy to find and we really appreciated the extra directions Bryan sent ahead of time. The space was super welcoming, we settled in super quickly. And there was everything we needed; dishes, cooking stuff, beach stuff. And the view was fantastic. We fell asleep every night to the rhythmic waves. And the view! Our stay was spectacular.

A great oceanfront spot at affordable price. Expect some occasional noise from busy street, but mostly quiet and quiet nights. Could use a deeper cleaning, and fresh paint, and shower drain runs slow. But overall wonderful little place and nice older condo complex. Comfortable bed and couch. The remodeled units have higher rates, so I was glad to find a perfectly fine older unit at an affordable price.

My son rally enjoyed his second trip to Hawaii, in part, thanks to the property owner who stocked the unit with snorkeling gear (important for my son). The view and sound of the ocean from the unit was great. The small friendly beach was quite close. But the big island is really big and one week may not be enough to see all its wonderful spots…

The location was really nice. It’s on the water, about 20 minutes from the airport, and less than 10 minutes from the busy tourist area/shopping in Kailua-Kona. There’s a public beach next to the property, and crashing waves/tide pools right out front. The large sliding doors on the lanai were cool.
The unit was a bit just big enough for our family of 4. We didn’t spend a ton of time there outside of sleeping and some meals. It’s an older building/unit, but well-maintained.
My kids liked the pool… which seems weird with the beach right next door, but it was nice to be able to float without waves.

This was our 4th stay at Kona Magic Sands, each time in a different unit. This was probably the most outdated unit we have stayed in. I don’t know if the owners are new to this unit. If so, I hope they will invest in new kitchen cabinets, new appliances, lights and fans. We did notice the new flooring and that’s a start. For my own comfort, the bed was too soft. I prefer a firm mattress for my back so for that reason alone i would choose another unit. As far as property management, the unit was very clean and the property is as well maintained as can be considering the damage done to the sea wall by the surge during bad weather. Damaged areas were well marked. I would stay at Kona Magic Sands again just not in this unit until improvements have been made. All in all we enjoyed our stay on the Big Island.

The unit had all what we were looking. Parking for rental, oceanfront view, kitchenette, and a bed. They were extraordinary additions like beach towels, beach chairs, body boards, snorkel gear, coffeemaker toaster, microwave, laundry (quarters only), pool, etc. The unit is literally next door to Magic Sands Beach, 15-20 minutes to “downtown” Kailua, 2 miles to grocery store, 20-30 minutes to airport, 2 hours (on HWY 11) to Volcano Park and 2.5 hours going back from Saddle Rd. which is a driving experience I can’t explain in little words. We had the most relaxing stay listening to the waves as we go to sleep, breathtaking view of the ocean and sunset. We will definitely come back and hope to stay here again. Thank you for hosting us! Probably one of the best properties in the Kona area if you want to be on the ocean with the ocean views. Property was well described in listing, and found to be very adequate in all respects. Did find the stairs to be a bit of a burden due to age and health. Would have been nice to have a hot shower, but that may be true for the whole building. Loved our ten days at this location and this facility and at a reasonable price.

The condo was comfortable for us even with two teenagers. It is beautiful to watch the sunset every night. We were grateful to be able to use the cooler, beach chairs, and boogie board. We would have tried the snorkel gear but we were advised the surf was too high while we were there. Parking and location is easy.
We ate at the onsite restaurant but also went into town for dinner a few nights. Even though the Magic Sand beach was “out,” it was stunningly beautiful. We drove south to Captain Cook, north to Kohala coast, over to the east side of the Island, and around Kona for adventures. We appreciated having this condo as our home base.

The view was stunning - ocean view on two sides. You might not want to leave the condo! It is bright and spacious. Plenty of storage. The bed is comfortable, but I chose the sofa bed to be next to the window to view the ocean. All the equipment you need to prepare breakfast or lunch (for dinner, better to plan leftovers, take-out or eat out - once the sun is down the cooking area is a bit dim for meal prep) The blue ice in the freezer was great for packing food and snacks when we went exploring. Beach equipment, Plenty of towels. No folding rack to hang suits & towels to dry, but I had an elastic clothesline. We enjoyed the pool too. We ate twice at the on-site restaurant. The Condo is also a short drive to other shops and places to eat. Overall, wonderful and relaxing.

Stayed Feb. 4-14- 2024. Many discrepancies in listing photos vs what we found upon arrival IE: Dining room table & chairs vs 3" square arborite covered table with 4 box type stools to sit on like in a kindergarten classroom very tacky & not comfortable!!!.Other things not as shown- paint colors, sofa,coffee table, wall decorations, spray painted fridge, blue on bottom & black on top!!! Mouse droppings on top of fridge & in cutlery drawer, had to wash it all before use, cutlery was old and showing signs of rust. Contacted owner after return with no reply. Condo definitely requires a complete makeover as does the property itself.

It appears that the road in front of the apartment building is a thorough fair. We did not know that the traffic never stopped. Neither did the noise in addition to that across the street or parking lots evidently for the restaurant and for people using the beach I’m not sure which, it appears that base music in cars is still popular in Hawaii and they are there all day every day I had to walk across the street to beg them to please turn the base on the radios down. We would never have rented there if we would have known, there was a party lot across the street. I think it’s unfair. You don’t tell people people about it.

Nice condo with great ocean view in a reasonable location. Unfortunately the Magic Sands were magically gone and the beach was rocky and gnarly. Kind of rough surf for my taste and ability. We could see lots of yellow tang fish and black ones from the window when the sun came out and the wind was not blowing. Saw the whales breaching from the window and a pod of dolphins.
My main problem was with the mirrors on almost every surface. Confusing for me although I know it is to make the room seem larger. Needs another shade in the kitchen to keep the lights from the highway in front from reflecting off the mirrors and windows. You don’t hear the road much because the surf is roaring almost constantly like a train going by. I got used to it. It’s really close. About 20 feet away. Even though the pictures look like the condo has one, there is no balcony. It was curiously removed to make the rooms larger.
Not a new building but mostly well maintained.
A good stay all things considered.

The condo was as advertised and did not disappoint. We loved the ocean front location and beautiful sunset views. We liked that the unit was very well stocked and had beach snorkel gear, chairs, etc. The kitchen and bath were nicely updated. We also liked the close proximity to some nice beaches and being not too far from downtown Kona. It was also good having the restaurant attached to the building and overlooking the ocean and beach. We would definitely come here again.

I would love to give a 5 star. However, there were many issues that should be addressed for the next guests. These are simple fixes. First, bed sheets are Awful! Old, worn and scratchy. 2. One set of towels are not enough for a couple/week stay (I don't want to wash on VAC). 3. The rattan furniture is old, dusty and very uncomfortable. The details matter. You would get return guests if these simple fixes were applied. As I stated the view is priceless.

Jan was quick to respond when we didn't have hot water. Once we knew it was a breaker issue, we just had to flip it back every few minutes when showering. Minor issue and everything else was great. Convenient, very clean, and well furnished. Owners provide everything you need for comfortable lodging. It appears the condo has been updated with new appliances, bathroom, and bed. The owners also provide quality beach chairs, towels, snorkeling equipment, and an umbrella so you can enjoy the nearby beaches. The western wall of the unit is all glass and the ocean sunsets are outstanding and perfectly framed by palms. We would definitely recommend this Vrbo listing.
(Just so you know, you do not have access to the ocean at the adjacent "Magic Sands Beach" in Winter months when the trade winds scour the sand away from the shore. However, there is still a sandy shelf for sunbathing and other activities. The sandy beach "magicallly" return in the Spring when the winds shift. There are other wonderful beaches north and south of Kona for snorkeling and swimming in the Winter months.)
