Wish I could give this property 5 stars. Let me start off by stating that this property is ideal if you plan on spending most of your time at the magic sand beach which is right next door & was the highlight of this location. It’s a bit of a driving distance to any shopping centers. The property itself was very clean & had all of the amenities as we like to cook our own meals due to dietary restrictions beach chairs/umbrella. There is a restaurant called Magic Beach Grill right next-door that over looks the beach & convenient for beach goers. There’s a designated parking spot so you don’t have to worry about parking. Our meals on the lanai were breathtaking with the views of the Pacific Ocean & wonderful sunsets. Cons: the unit is located on the 2nd floor and since it’s an older building there is no elevator. The AC in the unit is VERY sensitive, it did not work great for us when we needed it too. The host was very prompt in addressing concerns. However, the AC would not work even if you cracked open the door a little. When we checked in, unfortunately, the refrigerator wasn’t working, which we did not find out till the next day when the host informed us after we reached out regarding the AC unit. He did have a mini refrigerator that was working, however because we did our own cooking, storage was an issue for us. Since the unit is next to a beach & on a main road there tends to be some noise later part of the afternoon. Overall we enjoyed our stay here & would return.

The stay was in the perfect location! There was a great restaurant right next to the condos that has breakfast/coffee, and lunch and dinner. The beach next door was beautiful! Alice was a great host! She was prompt to respond and answered all our questions.

Staying at this oceanfront condo was pure magic. Each morning, I woke to the soothing rhythm of ocean waves and the soft chorus of island birds. The lanai felt like a private perch over the Pacific, where I could watch the waves roll in and spot fish and turtles right from the shore. Inside, the condo was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything needed for a relaxed stay. The location made it easy to explore Kona’s shops, beaches, and scenic drives, yet it still felt like a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to nature’s soundtrack was an unforgettable experience.I must thank for all the facilities and amenities offered within the condo.

I love the little condo by the sea. The slider doors open to a fantastic view of the ocean and the sound of the waves. It was peaceful and quiet. I had everything I needed in the condo. Yet the beach and restaurants were just a short walk away. However, I could prepare myself a good meal in the condo and I and watch the sun go down. It was a wonderful day.

Seriously, BOOK THIS!! You WILL NOT be sorry!!!! My husband and I spent 6 nights at this lovely rental and it was amazing. We saw dolphins our first morning! Enjoyed Kona coffee on the balcony every morning and sunsets in the evening. It is walking distance (across the parking lot) to Magic Sands (very popular beach) so if you feel like going to the beach, a short stroll and you’re there! The rental has EVERYTHING you need for a Hawaiian vacation (so go there first and check it out before you buy a bunch of stuff). Location was close to everything and wonderful. Very easy check out! We just loved our stay here!

The place had an amazing view and was well stocked with whatever we needed for our stay. It is close to many fun places and was perfect for our visit when we came to Kona to do the night snorkel with Manta rays. It’s a small space, but was nicely decorated and very thoughtfully equipped with an amazing view. You can hear the ocean as you fall asleep! Very nice overall.

We loved the unit and the great views of the ocean. This larger unit was helpful for our family of four. Our boys loved Magic Sands beach right next door. They boogie boarded to their hearts content. The condo was well-stocked, including beach toys, chairs, boogie boards, etc. It was the best stocked of the three condos that we stayed at for this trip.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Hawaii and would highly recommend it to others looking for a relaxing and well-located place to stay. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach and a quick drive to Kona for dining, shopping, and exploring. The house itself is spacious and very well-stocked, with plenty of room and little nooks for everyone to spread out and relax.One of our favorite features was the stunning pool at the front of the house. It was a perfect place to unwind with a view of the ocean—truly serene. Diane greeted us upon arrival and gave us a helpful tour of the property, and Michael was quick to respond when we had a minor issue with a ceiling fan. The overall hospitality was appreciated and made for a smooth stay.A few things to note: Hawaii can get humid, and while the home has fans in every room, there’s no AC, so it did get warm at times. Diane lives in a connected part of the house, though we didn’t see her after check-in. The booking process involved several emails and a Docusign contract, which felt more formal than other rentals we’ve used. There are security cameras on the driveway and in the backyard facing part of the pool/hot tub—views are partially obstructed but worth noting.Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful property in a great location with excellent hospitality. We really enjoyed our time here!

Loved staying at Kona Magic Sands. My wife and I were lulled to sleep every night by the sound of the ocean waves. The unit was cozy, but clean, lovely, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The owners were responsive to our needs to. Plus the location was perfect - we had family staying across the street, and enjoyed how easy it was to get everywhere we wanted, both in the Kona region and other places on the Big Island. Loved the accommodations: the turquoise green and turtle motif decor was well thought out with everything we needed or wanted. The sunset views were spectacular, framed by the row of palms all right outside the window and viewed from the bed or dining table. Enjoyed the grill and private dining by the pool. The location is perfect with the beach on one side providing fun body surfing, snorkeling or just spectating and the beautiful park on the other side for yoga, exercise or whatever. The grill offered live music on the weekends and we heard the restaurant next door is excellent ( although we didn’t try it). We were happy to be away from the crowds in Kona but the drives weren’t far for exploring other beaches, snorkeling, etc. Would love to return. Highly recommend.

Overall the room is a bit dated, but it has what you would need (and rooms are undergoing renovation). There’s negatives and positives.Positives: GREAT location, right next to magic sands beach and magic sands grill. Just a 5 minute drive to downtown Kona. The amenities such as boogie boards and lounge chairs are much appreciated. It was fantastic being able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves every night, even with the lanai closed. Negatives: The bathroom is very small to where the shower door hits the side of the toilet when opened. The kitchen appliances are old and the toaster smelled like burning rubber and did not work well. There’s a lot of stuff left over in the cabinets that are expired, such as spices and cooking spray. The amount of TV remotes is crazy (at least 5 or 6) and the directions on how to work it are not clear.

We absolutely loved our stay in Kona, Hawaii! The condo was perfect—it had everything we needed and more. We had a great stay! The listing was very accurate and check-in was simple. The location is fantastic — being able to listen to the ocean at night and having direct ocean access was a real highlight. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, and we had no issues with bugs or outside noise. Parking was easy and convenient. The only small improvement would be cleanliness in the kitchen and main living area, which could have been a bit more thorough.
