Location of this condo is very good, ocean view from upper floor lanai. The condo itself is very old, everything dated, no ac in unit. The worst thing is a lot of tropical bugs can enter condo. We tried to have everything closed, no food was left to atract these pests, but I guess the condo is old and they can find the way to enter. Other than this evening was good.

This condo was even better than we expected. We were surprised once we went into the condo on how spacious and well stocked it was with everything we needed.
The lanai was so nice to eat breakfast every morning and it was just a short walk to go see the sunset across the golf course which we went every time we were at the condo in the evening.
Adam was a great host as he replied very quickly to my messages and was very accomodating and understanding to all of our requests.
We would definitely stay at this condo if we do again to the Big Island. Mahalo Plenty!

We really enjoyed our stay here at Keaulou ... the property was in a great location, close to a Shopping Center that had Grocery and other Stores of convenience as well as a Great Restaurant
( Kinichi ) It was also close to the best Snorkeling we have ever experienced, at Kahaluu Beach! It was also a short walk away from Sea Quest which offered an excursion swimming with the Manta rays one of the highlights of our trip! And a visit to the Hale Coffee Farm.
The TownHouse itself was lovely with a beautiful view from the top lanai. It was so nice to wake up to the sound of birds and the fragrance of Plumeria with Palms waving in the breeze! We love to cook so we found the Kitchen was well equipped with appliances. It also was nice to have a few necessities such as salt, pepper, sugar, plastic wrap and bags. For a Suggestion The Coffee maker worked fine but could be updated for future guests and we found that the TownHouse was not as clean as we expected. We did find that the grounds were very clean and well maintained and really enjoyed the use of the Pool and BBQ. We also appreciated the amount of towels etc. as well as the use of the washer and dryer and free parking for our Car Rental.
We would definitely recommend this Property and we look forward to our next Stay on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii !!!

We have rented this condo 3 times for 3 months because of location. Perfect for us as we paddle for a canoe club that we can walk to.
Condo itself? The complex itself has a great manager, Jay, and grounds are meticulously maintained. The condo - inferior to others in complex. (We have rented in 3 others).
However, Not renting again. Each year fees go up and upkeep of this unit goes down. We are told by owner what a ādealā we are getting. It is very tired. One example: Lanai furniture has never changed-plastic fold up table, sun bleached, discolored plastic chairs. Look around at other lanais in same complex. Amenities- scarce. Fry pans so scratched- unsanitary for use. Coffee pot bottom burned. Towels & sheets threadbare, one thin blanket, garbage disposal kept breaking-we reset each time.When we asked items were supplied. The question being? Why did we have to keep asking. If you have reasonable cleaning standards, they will not be met here. Incidentally, checked area cleaning feesā-highest in area.
We have rented another, comparable, but very updated condo for less money. Regardless of what is said, they are available.
If staying for a short stay/ doable. Longer? Iād look elsewhere.

This was our second stay in this condo. We stayed there last year and we loved it.
This condo had an excellent update with air-conditioning. One was in the bedroom and one in the living room. It's the units on the wall so it's extremely quiet and it works great. It was the best surprise for us. The view from the balcony is perfect. Lot's of palm trees, other trees and so many birds singing. All day, but in the morning it's more loud. They woke us up, beautiful alrm clock. This condo had everything you need. Toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags and even a soap and shampoo, towels and beach towels. Area is quite and the shops are close by up on the hill. Kona downtown is a little drive but it's still close. Beaches are close by. Another thing in this condo was how close the ocean was to go to watch the sunset. You just walk through the golf course, probably 5 minutes and you are there. We highly recommend to go to see the sunset, it's different every time. Pool is nice to use. This area is quite and if you like to relax then this condo is a must. We will definitely stay here again. We have been coming to Hawaii for 20 years, and this condo is our number 1 to stay in. Even the cars, driving on the street you do not hear them at all. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to be back. I would not stay again due to no AC. I would have rated 3.5 stars, but not an option. 4 stars if AC. 5 Stars if AC & Cons were addressed.

Deck lighting abysmal. You canāt see much & no regular candles are allowed.
Clothes washer seal was gross (mold/clogged up). We own this same washer. FL washers need to be left open to dry out, & cleaned periodically. Should be sign indicating so, & that FL washers need to be drain between uses. There was nothing to drain it with.
TV was difficult to use. Batteries dying??
Sliding door to mstr bdrm did not slide. Since no AC you will open it every day, & close it every time you leave.
Balcony sliding screen doors - one bent & in need of new rolls?
Upstairs sink & mirror area - no privacy.
Couch uncomfortable.
Fan blowing on you all night if you want to keep cool.
Screen-door in/out of unit closes harshly.

We had a very pleasant experience. We have stayed closer to downtown Kona several times and enjoyed it but were looking for something a little more private and quiet. The condo complex is very quiet (except for the birds) and it was entertaining to watch the golfers. The grounds staff was attentive and friendly and the pool was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need in the way of tableware, utensils, pots and pans and cooking appliances. There was body wash and some small soaps for the bathrooms as well as starting supplies of tp, garbage bags, laundry detergent and dishwashing soap. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms and the sofa sleeper. I never expect condos to have food items or cooking oils/spices so being able to walk to the shopping center was a real advantage. There is a farmers market there every Saturday morning, several well-stocked stores, great restaurants, and a post office. It is also a very easy walk to the golf course clubhouse cafe and the Outrigger Hotel so the location was convenient for us.

We like staying in condos on the Big Island so we can save money not eating out. We've stayed in Keauhou dozens of times, and discovered one of the best bargains is marinated meats from the local KTA. So having a BBQ was important to us - I specifically asked about this as the listing didnt mention it. Owner stated 'there is shared BBQ'. Upon arriving we found this untrue. Apparently english isnt the owners strong point.
Another MAJOR disappointment was every speck of kitchen basics was gone. Not even salt/pepper. Every other condo we've ever stayed in had a variety of kitchen basics left over from previous guests; salt, pepper, oils, shoyu, rice, vinegar, etc. and i've always been happy to make my own contribution. Not so here. Curiously, there is a spice rack with moldy spices no one ever uses.
The good side - main bed was great, TV worked well (tho it didnt have HBO as the guest guide stated), The lanai was large and great to enjoy watching golfers, The 'guest bedroom' was adequate with its pullout and privacy barriers. The AC was very nice and worked well. Furniture all in decent condition and comfy. We appreciated that soap for the laundry and dishwasher was stocked.
Somewhat disappointed that the only personal soap was a tiny tube of body wash. No bar soap or shampoo - for these sky-high prices that seems like a cheap shot.
The on-site staff were polite and on the ball.

This condo was perfect for our family over Thanksgiving week. It felt like being a guest in a friendās home with all of the kitchen tools, condiments, books, games, coolers and snorkel equipment. The host even left us a huge bottle of water and chocolate covered macadamia nuts. So nice!
Appreciated the ground floor unit and nice lanai. The hose by the front door was nice for washing off sand before going inside. The property doesnāt allow grills but they have a George Foreman in the kitchen. And the master bedroom bed is so comfortable.
The host definitely wants guests to have a good time and it showed. We will be back. Thank you.

Our arrival was greeted by a very stinky garbage disposal. Problem was solved with purchase of two lemons. I feel that each reservation should be treated individually, we were there for two weeks with 3 rolls of toilet paper, one small bar of soap, three dishwasher pods and three trash bags. Even though you recommended that the trash be taken out at least once a a day. This did not make our stay any less enjoyable. Just some recommendations.

I stayed in the condo for a week in July with my wife and three kids. It is something like a three minute drive to Kahalu'u park. We really enjoyed how we could get there so easily, and snorkel there early in the morning - it felt like we had all the fish to ourselves. Another couple minute drive gets you to white sands beach which is crowded right now but has great boogie boarding waves. When we were too worn out for the ocean but when had energy to burn we just hung out at the pool.
I appreciated that the condo is well stocked with beach stuff like towels, bamboo mats, coolers, and chairs and also lots of Tupperware in the kitchen to pack lunches.
The only thing to clarify is the description of the place that it's a 2 bedroom. It is, but one bedroom has an accordion type temporary wall that opens to the living room - not offering much privacy. My wife and I stayed in that room so we could put the kids to bed in the larger master bedroom and still be out in the living room in the evening. Sometimes our kids would wake us up in the morning by poking one head through the main door and another head through the temporary wall.

We have been visiting Hawaii for over 20 years. This condo is quite, all you can hear are the birds. Lanai is huge, plenty of space and the view from lanai is awesome. You can see the ocean and a sunset. Condo had everything for a daily use, all the utilities. During the day the condo stayed colder, with the fans on. We enjoyed our stay very much. One of the best condos we have ever stayed. Everything is there for a beach use even snorkel gear. We had to buy the umbrellas for the beach which we left there. We recommend this condo, and will definitely stay here again. If you like quiet place, then this is the best place to be.

This is a well kept property with everything you need! Located on the golf course, gorgeous sunsets and sunrises (you are allowed walk down to lava beach on golf course after 5 p.m. to watch unobstructed sunset--locals do it daily). Pool is easy to find. Having the AC was great! The washer dryer was new and very useful! Shopping center right up the street with KTA grocery store, drug store, restaurants, etc. Very convenient. It is a very short drive to Kalauu Snorkel beach and a short drive to Magic Sands beach. We would stay here again in a a heartbeat!
This is a top floor unit. The 2nd bedroom with two twins is really best for kids. Our 8 and 11 year olds were happy there. It would be a squeeze for adults, and one wall of the 2nd bedroom is an accordion divider from the living room that can open during the day. King in the master was comfortable and great. LOTS of pillows! The pull out couch would not be a comfortable option for someone's bed for a week. We tried it one night and it sleeps like an old pull out couch. But we didn't need it and were *very* happy with the accommodations overall.
Excellent location, beautiful spot in Kona convenient to everything without being noisy and busy.

Very nice condo, ocean view complex, ocean sounds at night! Right on golf course. Itās an older community but very clean and accessible. A/C was def appreciated! Beds were comfortable, easy check in& out process. Only complaint was the building mngr? Came knocking on door to tell us we had parked on grass and needed to move immediately and implied we may have damaged a sprinkler head. The assigned parking slot is very odd shape and angled from other spots. I was only a few inches on grass and def no where near a sprinkler head. His approach was rude and unprofessional- did he need to make a snide remark along the lines of ā whereād they get their drivers license/sho taught them to driveā. Really?! Iām a 24 year veteran truck driver, but I came in late, in an unfamiliar rental car, parking in a dark parking area that has many shadows bcuz of the upslope. Totally left a bad taste in my mouth. This unpleasant encounter was quickly followed up by a friendly text from the property manager about the same issue. I explained the situation, she was very nice and probably saved the rental. Overall- good locale, well stocked condo as advertised. Long term residents were very friendly with great activitity suggestions.

We had some trouble figuring out all of the Covid documents needed and the procedures required to get them submitted.
But, the 24-hour management company phone line was helpful and someone helped us complete most of the necessary requirements as we were departing on our trip before sunrise ET. We got an extension on the other family members' requirements as they were arriving a day later.
It all worked out and we greatly enjoyed the unit - its spaciousness, layout, and beautiful view, as well as easy access to shopping and restaurants.

Keauhou Palena is great location for a long stay. Lots of varied walking, close to the bay, with snorkeling, kayak, paddle board adventures. Walking distance to grocery store and an excellent coffee/crepe place.
Sunset on golf course facing Lanai beautiful or take a quick to the bay.
Beds are very comfortable, including the sleeper. Kitchen has everything needed. Coffee grinder was broken and Mgmt company dropped a new one at the door. The grounds and unit are clean and well-kept. This unit has A/C in bedroom which was needed first couple nights until getting used to warmer temps than where Iām from.
Very friendly neighbors and staff.
For work - Wifi is great.
TV is smart so can watch your own channels but there is cable as well.
Kitchen has plenty of soap, trash bags, cleaning supplies. Bathrooms - plenty of TP. Very neat and clean. There are Some other supplies in the place left from other travelers.

This unit is spacious, the king bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable, and I loved keeping the lanai slider door open at night for a breeze. Thank you for stocking lots of beach gear for us to use (chairs, cooler, etc.) The arrival and checkout instructions were clear and very helpful. Having the washer/dryer in unit is also very helpful. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful and conveniently close to the dock where I picked up a snorkel tour, though we had to drive to restaurants and other activities. The down side: The listing did not explicitly state that the unit is not air conditioned, which would be fine if it stayed naturally cool, but the strong sun hit the main living space all afternoon and it was uncomfortably hot on that level from about 2 p.m. on. The multiple floor and ceiling fans were appreciated and helped keep the temp in the master bedroom comfortable at night, but the main upstairs level is just too hot in daytime.

We spent a week at this property in March 2021, on our first outing after getting fully vaxxed. The Big Island was a great place to start and this property was perfectly located. It is indeed a big island but this was just central enough to make our trips north and south work well, and far enough from the larger Kailua-Kona bustle. We didn't drive to the Hilo side, and that would have been a bit more of a challenge.
The golf course made for a pleasant view from the lanai, and we played it a couple of times. The walk up to the local shopping center was easy although a number of shops were still closed or limited hours when we were there; perhaps better now. Walks down to the bay were very nice especially early in the day when cooler. The unit was very well equipped and we lacked for nothing during our stay. I will agree with another reviewer about the "second bedroom" being a little misleading with its accordion closure and bordering on the lanai, so not really a great deal of privacy. However we were just a couple and used it for sorting gear for our next outing etc so it was fine. Not sure where occupants 5 and 6 would sleep though, unless you sleep 4 on the king bed. But other than that, nothing negative to report at all.

I have visited Kona with my family including senior citizens, teenage kids, spouse and myself. The condo is same as being described in the details. I would suggest this place to stay for party of four. Our group of six was little crowded. The beds were comfortable, but I wouldn't suggest sofa bed for sleeping. Inflatable mattresses were provided along with pump. We have used the provided camping chairs, and ice chests for picnic anf sunset at the beach. Enjoyed the beautiful rainbow over the golf course during our stay. Overall, it is a nice place to stay, and relax while exploring Kona. Close to harbor for early morning boat trips. Close to beaches for snorkeling and just enjoying the beach. The scenic byway for shopping is within 15 minutes drive.

We had a wonderful stay. The condo was the perfect size and loved having a full kitchen to cook in when we didnāt want to go out. The king bed was very comfy. This place is paradiseā¦ totally quiet, the frogs and rain killed us to sleep almost every night. Loved sitting on both the
Patios. The one upstairs has a great view of the ocean. Downstairs patio is chill, with great views of lush plants and a nice place to relax. We couldnāt get over the lush plants all around us, easy access to the pool, walking distance to the shopping center and Keauhou Bay. Keauhou Bay is beautiful and we loved floating around and chilling in the bay in the mornings. They have night time Manta Ray tours right from the bay. Amazing place I would return to and recognize! We loved it!

Enjoyed this condo. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The fans kept us cool and allowed us to enjoy the breezes. We liked being somewhat away from Kailua-Kona and there are nice shoreline walks (with great sunsets) to take from the condo.

This was my first time traveling during the pandemic. My Covid test results were delayed so I had to get retested, which delayed my trip. Gladys was very understanding and accommodating and I appreciate her generosity! She was very attentive to my emails before my trip, as well as my texts during my trip. The condo was very clean and fully stocked! It is in a quiet and private location with shopping and farmers markets nearby. After I checked out, I realized I left something behind. Gladys was gracious enough to meet up with me to hand off my belongings. Thank you, Gladys for a wonderful stay!

The location is good. Just out of town traffic and within walking distance to the Keauhou shopping center, and farmers market on Saturday, as well as the Keauhou bay where you can catch a snorkel excursion, it also has a nice pool and sunset views. The place is well equipped, lots of kitchen tools and gadgets, chairs for the beach and towels and, the bed is comfy but, donāt look to close or you will see that everything is a bit worn and shabby. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere but, if you are looking for a good value, I think it fits the bill.

Good location away from the older downtown of Kona. Near Keauhou shopping center but not too far from Kona heading back north on the Queen K hwy toward the airport, beaches and other resorts. Nice, small one bedroom property. Could have been better appointed with some of the basics for cooking (like some olive oil - which there was a bottle of, but none in it - or sugar for coffee (none of that)). Otherwise, all the utensils, pots and pans, etc were there. Property was clean and the deck was great for the mornings. Natural ventilation with fans was fine once we figured out which settings to use. One downer for us was that some water infrastructure was being worked on and there was no water from about 9 am to 11 am on two of the days we stayed there. I would expect that that might be compensated for with a small credit - if only to recognize that it's an inconvenience. Generally for what we were looking for, it was really good and the value was there as well.

Gladys is a wonderful owner with amazing hospitality!! I own a timeshare and was not able to use it this weekend and have also stayed in many other condos and resorts. We were surprised to see many extras I have never gotten in other condos. She left us with some delicious fruit, all of the little thoughtful amenities missing from other condos such as extra linen, air bed, lots of towels, body boards, even stocked with kitchen supplies such and plastic wrap, foil and ziplock bags!
Gladys let us know what time we were able to check in (earlier than we expected) and asked if I would like the pullout bed opened up. I answered and said that I did. She called later that night to apologize about not receiving my email on time and offered to stop by to help us. It must have been almost 9pm at night. I just felt everything from start to finish was above and beyond in the hospitality department!! Thank you Gladys!! Sheās the best!!
