What a perfect place to stay on the Big Island! The condo was well stocked with everything we needed (and then some!) It had all the beach essentials you could possibly want. We literally walked across the street to Kahulu'u beach every morning to snorkel! I would absolutely recommend this property to everyone and hope to stay here again some day!

Great location in Kona, made a good “home base” for our trip. Lots of local markets and food trucks near by. Snorkling directly across from the condo was great, we saw lots of fish and a sea turtle. Kona is more laid back and country than Maui which was a nice change of pace. Aloha!

Wonderful property with all the amenities we could wish for! Beautiful ocean & beach view, swimming pool, hot tub, quick 1 minute walk across the street to some of the best snorkeling on the Big Island! (Just be sure to make sure the beach isn't closed for coral spawning) Parking included and a darling gift basket upon arrival. Everything was clean, modern, tastefully decorated and plenty of beach items and towels to borrow during our stay. Excellent location to Kailua-Kona. My family absolutely LOVED it!

Fantastic location...and cockroaches.My husband searched long and hard for a great place for our stay at the Big Island. A huge criteria was being close to snorkeling for my son and I, which this location 100% delivers on.However, we paid for luxury and got a location that had baby cockroaches in the dishwasher, old roach traps with droppings around it on the kitchen floor and adult cockroaches running across the kitchen counter.We reached out to Gail and she had her handy man out right away - who left a big can of Raid on the kitchen counter along with new bait traps (old ones were left). We were told spraying was also done but not near food prep (so I'm thinking base boards...?).After putting away the can of Raid (I shouldn't have to be spraying poison on my vacation), cleaning up and throwing away an old bait station that I saw every time going into the kitchen I hoped for the best. I did not want to leave this location.
Next day, still cockroaches and then finally after day 3 no more bugs to be seen.I received all the excuses possible. Listen, I'm from central Florida - I get bugs and how to control them. The excuses were flimsy. Either the pest control company needs to be fired or the people who manage the location.So - hopefully the group after us doesn't have the same experience (and probably won't since we raised the issue). Maybe take a chance on this location...?Writing this from Waikiki, another condo that is bug free (whew!).

We LOVED staying there! It was a beautiful place and the location was great. The unit we were in was back in some overgrown bushes and so sitting on the lanai was buggy. An upper floor would have been better.

The property was really nice and spacious. Close to the ocean. 15 minutes from Kailua. The host made suggestions on what to do while visiting here. We enjoyed the restaurants and the beaches recommended. The host and property manager were very responsive and amiable. There was a nice pool and jacuzzi too.

The host tried to switch us to a property that was “almost the same” but not registered with VRBO. The narrative about why the switch needed to happen changed daily, but eroded confidence in our ability to trust the host. After the host indicated that they would not be able to honor the original contract, the contract was cancelled.Would not recommend the host. VRBO was very helpful in resolving the issue.

The first photo is not the building I stayed in. From the back building, I could see a portion of the beach.airconditioning was nice.the kitchen lights were not ideal and the stove light was out, so I couldn't see the stove very well, even with the overhead light on. The clock battery was dead. the dryer door needs adjusted, I had to lift up to close it.I loved the cotton sheets! The hot tub was nice

This beautiful condo is directly across the street from one of the best snorkeling places on the Big Island. It was well stocked with beach supplies and the bed was really comfortable. AC made sleeping easy! There is a grocery store and restaurants nearby. Our favorite part of the trip was watching the sunset on the Lanai! We will stay here again!

Our stay on Kahalu’u Bay was the best rental experience our family has ever had! Ben and everyone at the shop were so welcoming to us. It was the perfect place for our family, combining gorgeous views, unparalleled access to surfing, snorkeling and more just steps away, and easy access to all Kona has to offer. The house was so clean and well-appointed. One tip: definitely check in and look at the cupboards before grocery shopping as there was a lot already stocked. Just waking up to watch the morning sun hit the bay as the first surfers went out, listening to the friendly chatter and surf lessons happening right below the balcony, and the friendly welcoming smiles every time we came back through the gates - our family will treasure many many good memories.

My family and I love visiting the Big Island and we had a wonderful stay again this year. Kona Coast vacations was incredibly easy to work with and very responsive. All information was communicated ahead of time and there were no surprises. We love the South Kona area and this condo was perfect for our family of 6. The condo is clean, comfortable and well stocked with kitchen needs, towels, linens, toiletries, etc. My favorite parts of the day were waking up and enjoying the ocean view and sounds with my coffee on the lanai and watching the sunset as my boys swam in the pool. Highly recommend this condo. I would stay here again and I would definitely book with Kona Coast Vacations again.

Absolutely perfect choice for our family of four. When we visit Kona in the future we will likely build our travel dates around the availability of this property! The house was super well stocked with condiments, any cooking utensils and tools we needed and more, plus local wine/coffee/chocolates, all a big hit that made us feel at home. I don’t think I’ve ever seen linens and towels more organized, and even the small details (sound machines, AC units in each of the main rooms) were considered and added up to a perfect vacation. Ben was very responsive and each member of the surf shop staff made us feel welcome and special. Our 13-year old son would have liked to stay and work at the surf shop! Can’t ask for a better view or location if you want to surf, SUP, snorkel, or nap on the sand—just walk across the street and hop in the water. Highly recommend taking a lesson from any of the professionals at the shop. Beds were also all really comfortable and there are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes’ drive if you don’t want to cook (as well as a local grocery store if you do). The staff at the shop also helped us narrow down our itinerary when we were trying to figure out how to structure a couple of days (suggested to combine Mauna Kea and Kīlauea into one long day rather than break it up, which gave us an extra day at the beach!). This may be the best vacation home we’ve ever rented and was a magical introduction to Kona. Mahalo, Ben.

We had a fantastic stay! The property had plenty of space for our family of 5. The location was amazing, the snorkeling across the street was everyone’s favorite part of our trip. The kitchen was well equipped to make meals in if you plan on it and we weren’t far from the grocery store and plenty of great restaurants. We would definitely recommend and will look into staying again if/when we come back.

Pool and hot tub cleaned daily grounds well maintained. Only downside is that it is a 3rd floor unit with amazing views unfortunately, without an elevator. Hosts were awesome to work with. This is the best location! The beach with good snorkeling is across the street; an infinity pool looks out over the beach if sand isn’t your thing. You can even hear the waves from inside! The kitchen is well appointed for making your own food. And lastly you are about midland so traveling north or south is well within reach. Definitely coming back.

Host James is very responsive and friendly! The condo is filled with top of the line kitchen/dining tableware, grilling tools, and glass and plastic dining options. There are snorkels, fins, beach chairs, body boards, beach towels, a number of coolers of varying sizes, and plenty of everything needed. The condo is very nicely furnished and is in a prime location as it is easy to get to beaches, restaurants, bakeries, and the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

What an incredible stay! Ben was the ultimate host. He was extremely responsive and welcoming. His place was immaculate and very well stocked. The main bed was super cozy with a massager and ability to adjust your head and legs. The view was spectacular and we saw spouting whales while sitting and enjoying our morning coffee. The snorkeling across the street is one of the best on the island. We enjoyed watching the sunset every evening. The colors were amazing.

Wow! This was hands-down the most magical place we have ever stayed. We felt so lucky to spend the entire week here.Ben is incredibly welcoming and the house is absolutely stunning & so clean! We spent so much time on the lanai enjoying the view of the ocean and all the thoughtful amenities provided—beach towels, beach chairs, cooler bag, huge closets, super-comfortable beds, and more. It was so nice being able to walk to the beach for snorkeling, then come back for a quick lunch or relax in the house.We rented snorkel gear from the surf shop for the whole week and our son took a private surf lesson (wish we had booked that sooner—it was the highlight of his trip!). Everything was perfect - we already can’t wait to come back! Thank you Ben!

This was a really sweet spot, when your traveling somewhere, you want to be out and about not spending all your time in your rental, but coming back to this one was relaxing, comfortable, and with a sweet view. The pool and hot tub were clean and peaceful. Rest days didnt feel like a waste and the neighbor hood kittys were fun to watch. Gail was helpful and welcoming, we had a little communication breakdown but she reassured me everything was going to be okay. If I were to go back to Hawaii I would like to book here again. I had one complaint and that was the condo upstairs they were very loud but thats not in Gails control and hofully that was a temporary neigbor.

WONDERFUL!!! Right from the moment we arrived, Ben was the most welcoming host we have ever encountered in our many stays in vacation rentals. The house was pristine and had everything we needed. The location was perfectly located for beach access at Kahaluu Bay and quick access to downtown Kona shops via the free trolley. While everyone else was scrambling for parking and we were in the water enjoying the wide variety of fish! Highlight was the turtle that swam right alongside us. We honored the ten foot distance but the turtle did not!! We ate dinner and watched the sunset over the bay every night. Ben also runs the Kahaluu Surf & Sea and his customers were as happy with his care there as we were with our incredible stay. Can't wait to come back and stay again. Perfect vacation!!!! Thank you so much Ben and crew!!!!
