We are first timers using a VRBO and checking in was a little confusing. I missed seeing the email with the check in directions. The location was great! Upon arrival everything was neat and tidy, then the AC wouldn't work. I called and within 48hours it got recharged, however every 2-3 days we needed to call to get it recharged again. Then when game 7 of the NBA playoffs was happening; the cable wasn't working. I called and they sent a cable person over promptly to fix it. Unfortunately my team didn't win. Each time I had a question or another problem would come up they were very kind and quick to help, which was nice.The property grounds were well maintained. We used the pool, hot tub, the outdoor barbeque, the outside shower to get the sand off our feet, the beach across the street and there was ample parking spaces. Even when coming back at midnight. The beach across the street was easy to get to. I enjoyed not having to get in the car again, drive again and then find a parking spot. In the kid's bedroom there was sand chairs/buckets, an umbrella, a cooler, swim noodles, a beach bag, board games and snorkeling stuff. In the basket on the coffee table were things to do Hawaii books and a picture book of fish you could see while snorkeling. I never found a cookie sheet while staying their, so we microwaved our chicken nuggets and corndogs.I would stay at this location again, just not this unit until I could confirm the AC was permanently fixed.

Incredible Kona experience at Nalu Hale. Ben is the most thoughtful, nice and kind person. Anything one could ever need in a property was at our disposal, including one heck of a view of the ocean across the street and just as important a very clean and comfortable place. Ben and his surf shop crew took extremely well care of us and were able to enjoy some fantastic snorkeling, paddle-boarding, and surfing just a few steps from the house. Location was optimal with several other beaches nearby and the town just a few minutes drive. Without a doubt THE place to stay as it offered us a combination of amenities, comfort, and laid-back vibe we were so much looking for. Having the grill was a game changer! I'll be booking this place again our next visit to Kona. Thanks Ben!!!

We actually didnt stay here because the a/c unit had broken down the week before our stay. Our host, Lawrence, had informed us of this , and we thought we could make it work, but it was just too hot without the a/c. However, Lawrence was gracious and helped us by issuing a refund for the stay. He was also great to communicate with. Plus the a/c issue wasnt his fault. Otherwise, the condo was clean and very nice. I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing location and host! We loved watching the sunsets from the lanai each evening.Cara's home is beautifully decorated and well-stocked with everything you need from a full kitchen, laundry supplies, and items for beach & snorkeling play at a fabulous beach right across the street. When we had an issue with a strange beeping noise from another unit on the property, Cara was very responsive and reached out several times to the HOA and other unit owners to find the source of the beeping, and itstopped within a few days (this occurred over Memorial Day weekend, and stopped on Tuesday - presumably when the manager returned to work).I would definitely like to stay here again -- five stars isn't enough to show how much we enjoyed it!

Walking distance to the beach with corel and great snorkeling like the listing states. Short drive to supermarket, other stores and activities. The sunset views are incredible! Beach front access to one of the best snorkeling beaches in America. The condo was fully equipped with everything we needed including snorkeling gear. Checking in was a bit of a challenge. Our code wasn’t working. The owner did answer right away and helped us with the process. Checking in instructions and a last minute “security deposit “ was confusing. Pool and hot tub were very nice! Would stay here again and again

The condo was stocked with tons of gear for the daily trips around the big island. The condo was clean and had nice amenities. The manager was quick to respond and help fix issues quickly. The bed and pillows need a bit of an updating, but noone seems to mind since the activities kept us tired. The owners give you a brief summary of many amazing places, but you still need to do some research. The condo is situation just of the street from a great snorkeling spot. Harbor, restaurants, grocery are up the street. We will return if able.

We took his recommendation re: manta ray snorkeling. Amazing! Really enjoyed our short stay here. Close to magic sands beach which provided a full day of boogie boarding and sun for the kiddos. Boogie boards, chairs, umbrella and cooler in the complex were helpful! Didn’t get to try any snorkeling at the beach across as it was closed but still a great place!

Never received check in instructions so had to contact Danielle from the airport to get them. AC not working so my husband spent 2 hours on a sunday fixing it instead of enjoying vacation. Meanwhile, i called and texted Danielle multiple times and was ignored for over 24 hours. AC was the top reason for choosing this condo so very disheartening to not have it with no response. A day later we found out the washer wasnt working. Yet another majn reason for choosing the condo. Finally heard from Danielle and was told someone would come 2 days later to look at washer. Was told washer couldnt be fixed so had to buy extra beach and bath towels and had dirty clothes instead of clean going to next island. Place not super clean. Hair dryer didnt work. We are NOT complainers or hard to please but i woujd NOT recommend this condo. Was told communication was due to a new "system" but yet contact called me back at the airport?? Was given a small refund for hassle but was denied a reasonable refund for all of the hqssle. I just dont want anyone else to have same experience so renter beware!

My family and I enjoyed our time at this condo. It was clean, had everything we needed and was in a great location. Neighborhood was quiet and right across the road from an amazing snorkeling spot. Gail provided extras for the beach including boogie boards, beach chairs, a cooler, pool noodles and snorkel gear. The view from the lanai is great and the kids enjoyed the pool. We were super comfortable and wished we could have stayed longer. I wouldnt hesistate to book this place again.

We loved this place. Very good layout for a family, with a snorkeling beach JUST across the street. Such a great location. Everything worked, everything was clean, the kitchen was actually well-stocked (they all say that, but you never really know…). And as a bonus- beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, etc. All the stuff you want but you can’t bring it on the plane. Just a nice place to stay while touring the big island.

This was a perfect place for our family of four to spend a week exploring the big island. We loved the view from the patio, the pool, having great snorkeling right across the street, and plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. The location was great- close to Kona town but in a more residential area. We lucked out and got to see actual lava flow at Volcanoes park, we snorkeled with Manta Rays, enjoyed a luau and a helicopter ride from Hilo in addition to great beach time.

Rachel and Jason have created a spectacular space with an exception view of one of the best snorkeling areas on the big island. The condo is in a quiet neighborhood, convenient distance to Kona or to 2 Step and easy to get the highway to Kīlauea. The condo is well equipped in the kitchen and also with things you might want for the beach. The bed was extremely comfortable. 5 Stars! Will be my choice of where to stay for my next trip to Kona.

Communication was excellent right away from the time of the booking. The unit is well maintained and includes many essential and non-essential items that enhanced our experience (e.g., full kitchen and accessories, towels and water shoes, washer/dryer with detergent, filtered water, cooler and beach chairs, etc.). The location offered a wonderful view of the beach and ocean as well as easy access to restaurants, shops, and groceries nearby. The beach across the street was enjoyable for snorkeling and sunbathing and we took advantage of private surf lessons conveniently being offered (for a fee) just steps away from the condo. The pool area is a relaxing place to cool down and enjoy some more ocean views. Overall, my family of 4 (with 2 children ages 19 and 17) enjoyed our visit very much!
