This is a very well appointed condo with a lanai directly overlooking one of the best snorkeling spots on the Big Island. My expectations were exceeded in almost every way. Plenty of kitchen items. I especially appreciated the snorkel gear and the leftover sunblock from previous visitors. The pool and grill were also awesome. One thing to be aware of is that, while you can hear the ocean from this unit, you can also hear the cars on Alii drive. For me, the beach view outweighed this downside but folks should know that you do hear cars when the windows are open.

This is a beautiful house! It has all the amenities and more. Everything is fully stocked with everything you could need. Very clean and beautifully decorated. The host was amazing and was always in communication. Check in and check out is super easy. The ocean views are amazing and there are several lanais where you can sit and eat. 10/10! We will definitely stay here again.

This was the cleanest, most well-stocked condo we’ve ever stayed in during our trips to Hawaii, right across the street from excellent snorkeling at Kahalu’u Beach Park! The unit is well maintained and has a lot of insulation, so we didn’t have to rely on the A/C to stay cool as much as some other places. The kitchen had everything - there was even a French press and filtered water in the fridge.Gorgeous lanai with comfortable chairs, and the master bed and pillows were VERY comfortable. It’s a quieter complex than some. Property manager and owner are friendly and easy to communicate with. I hope to stay here again!

Right across the street from the ocean and 50 yards from a beach/park. Good bed, well stocked bathroom, lots towels, well appointed kitchen. Convenient location south of the airport. Such a lovely vacation spot. Enjoyed snorkeling across the street. The pool was wonderful! Had our meals on the patio. The condo was equipped with all we needed - from pots and pans to boogie boards and swim shoes in various sizes to AC that helped us manage the humidity. We snorkeled at low tide and saw so many varieties of fish and turtles. Three of us stayed in the condo - hubby, wife and adult daughter - and we all felt as though we had enough space. Beds were comfy. Condo was very clean. Easy parking. Outside of the condo, had wonderful meal at Umeke’s and Ola Brewing. Visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park was very special.

We had a fantastic stay at the condo in Kahalu'u. The host was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The condo itself was beautifully maintained and well stocked with everything we needed. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view from the lanai—truly unforgettable. Its prime location right next to Kahalu'u Beach Park offered amazing snorkeling opportunities just steps away. We absolutely loved our time here and would be thrilled to return to this property in the future.

This was an excellent property. Nice pool and hot tub. 1st floor overlooking the pool and the snorkle beach across the street. Full size kitchen with all necessities. Two full baths with linens. Air conditioning worked very good. Parking was easy and safe. We toured the entire island and had a great stay, Aug of 2025. Also had snorkle gear provided and I swam with underwater camera across the street and got hundreds of coral reef fish pics. On the last day I swam with multiple turtles and got cool underwater video.

While the picture is a bit misleading (pool is on site, but not the view from our particular condo, the beach was viewed) both the beach and the pool were thoroughly enjoyed. The condo itself made us feel "right at home". It is decorated nicely and we found it to be very clean. Kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the condiments in the frig. Bathrooms were spacious and plenty of towels were provided. Pool and beach equipment was so appreciated(as was the iron). Lovely location and easy to navigate the area. We would stay again of the opportunity arose.

Cara’s place was perfect for our group of 4. Spotlessly clean, and located in a great location across from the water. We loved watching the sunset go down from the lanai in the evenings. Check-in was super easy with a code for the door and all parking spots are close to unit. Extremely clean and well stocked. I did ask for sheets to be out for sleeper sofa and we had to look for those and they forgot to turn the thermostat back down after a few day gap, but given the heat and humidity, the thermostat worked great and they set it down about a minute after I called. Beach gear was great. Don't underestimate snorkeling across the street. Kids had a great surf lesson too. Fabulous central location. Parking in town was expensive, but we went farther south for Shave Ice. Pool was great and kids used every day. Fabulous location!

The house was amazing - the kitchen had every appliance and utensil I could ever need. It’s an absolutely gorgeous home. We enjoyed our meals on the deck with the water view and loved walking across the street to go snorkel. The staff in the surf shop downstairs were super friendly and helpful too! We had recently stayed in a rental directly above this one and knew both the location and the amenities available. The location is unbeatable and the apartment itself was okay except for 1 thing. BUGS. The apartment had hundreds of dead bugs all over the apartment and many flying bugs. There were bugs in the bedding, in the fridge, in the bathroom drawers and all over the floor. We spent less than an hour in the apartment and ended up with 4 bites.The property manager first said that that there are a few bugs to there are periodic infestations of black gnats but it's okay since they don't bite (!!) to asking us to identify the specific insects.

Paradise! Even better than advertised!The location was perfect, right across from the beach, close to downtown and shops. The penthouse condo was super clean, tropical and stocked with everything you could want for a beach vacation (they even had a charming welcome basket with local snacks and drinks). The pool and hot tub were fabulous and the pool overlooked the ocean; even my teens loved it. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in house, it made traveling with carry-ons totally doable. Thanks to the owner's great communication, our family felt very well taken care of! It truly felt like they wanted us to have the perfect vacation, which we did!!! 100% Recommend this VRBO!

This rental was perfection. Wonderful condo. Perfectly outfitted. Due to a food allergy, I cooked most meals at the condo…so having a well stocked kitchen is key. There were also beach towels, a cooler, and other beach and snorkeling gear. Directly across from one of the best snorkeling spots on the Big Island. Our hosts were phenomenal communicators. We are first timers using a VRBO and checking in was a little confusing. I missed seeing the email with the check in directions. The location was great! Upon arrival everything was neat and tidy, then the AC wouldn't work. I called and within 48hours it got recharged, however every 2-3 days we needed to call to get it recharged again. Then when game 7 of the NBA playoffs was happening; the cable wasn't working. I called and they sent a cable person over promptly to fix it. Unfortunately my team didn't win. Each time I had a question or another problem would come up they were very kind and quick to help, which was nice.The property grounds were well maintained. We used the pool, hot tub, the outdoor barbeque, the outside shower to get the sand off our feet, the beach across the street and there was ample parking spaces. Even when coming back at midnight. The beach across the street was easy to get to. I enjoyed not having to get in the car again, drive again and then find a parking spot. In the kid's bedroom there was sand chairs/buckets, an umbrella, a cooler, swim noodles, a beach bag, board games and snorkeling stuff. In the basket on the coffee table were things to do Hawaii books and a picture book of fish you could see while snorkeling. I never found a cookie sheet while staying their, so we microwaved our chicken nuggets and corndogs.I would stay at this location again, just not this unit until I could confirm the AC was permanently fixed.

Incredible Kona experience at Nalu Hale. Ben is the most thoughtful, nice and kind person. Anything one could ever need in a property was at our disposal, including one heck of a view of the ocean across the street and just as important a very clean and comfortable place. Ben and his surf shop crew took extremely well care of us and were able to enjoy some fantastic snorkeling, paddle-boarding, and surfing just a few steps from the house. Location was optimal with several other beaches nearby and the town just a few minutes drive. Without a doubt THE place to stay as it offered us a combination of amenities, comfort, and laid-back vibe we were so much looking for. Having the grill was a game changer! We actually didnt stay here because the a/c unit had broken down the week before our stay. Our host, Lawrence, had informed us of this , and we thought we could make it work, but it was just too hot without the a/c. However, Lawrence was gracious and helped us by issuing a refund for the stay. He was also great to communicate with. Plus the a/c issue wasnt his fault. Otherwise, the condo was clean and very nice. I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing location and host! We loved watching the sunsets from the lanai each evening.Cara's home is beautifully decorated and well-stocked with everything you need from a full kitchen, laundry supplies, and items for beach & snorkeling play at a fabulous beach right across the street. When we had an issue with a strange beeping noise from another unit on the property, Cara was very responsive and reached out several times to the HOA and other unit owners to find the source of the beeping, and itstopped within a few days (this occurred over Memorial Day weekend, and stopped on Tuesday - presumably when the manager returned to work).I would definitely like to stay here again -- five stars isn't enough to show how much we enjoyed it!
