Our first time to Hawaii, and words cannot express how blessed we were to stay in this condo. We had 2 senior ladies. The elevator was a must have. But to get into the condo and see our first sunset on the balcony, we knew we did good in booking with James. We had everything we needed and much more. The location of the property right across the street from Kahaluu beach park made for easy beach access and a great sunrise/sunset view. Having two bedrooms at either end of the condo with the kitchen and living area in between made it ideal for working remotely while others slept. The wifi worked well. The kitchen was well outfitted so cooking was an easy option. The overall condition of the condo and furnishings was very good and comfortable for everyone. The owner was very responsive when I had some questions prior to our stay. We would readily return to this property and rent again next time we are on the Big Island.

This condo was clean, very well stocked and in a good location. There’s a grocery store and pharmacy & restaurants less than a half mile away. Snorkeling across the street was great and a short trip to 2 step to snorkel and downtown Kona to shop.
My only cons about this property would be the picture in the listing shows a building facing the pool and a slightly more ocean front experience that what it actually is. You can see the beach from the balcony and can watch sunsets from there. Also we had a Hawaiian centipede and some roach looking bug in the kitchen. This must be a known issue because we found a can of raid under the sink. Lastly, the washing machine has a big sign saying possible flooding and to be careful using it. I didn’t use it much because that was something I didn’t want to deal with on vacation.

The location, view, and comfort was excellent. We ate every meal on the patio with a view of ocean. We didn’t use the second bedroom, but considered it when the neighborhood rooster would crow early in the morning. It was nice having 2 bathrooms. The king size bed was comfortable and the bedroom was dark. We used the pool one night where we watched the sunset at the beach from within the pool. The beach supplies were a plus, as well as kitchen equipment. The negatives, the beach closed unexpectedly for rereefing the coral for 8 days so we actually had to snorkel elsewhere. We payed extra for the air conditioning, and it was worth it. The unit wasn’t as clean as I would like it, hair in bathroom and I was surprised by a cockroach 3 times in kitchen and shower. I suppose it could be because the doors to the unit don’t have a tight fit and the complex was to be sprayed the next week.

My family and I stayed at this AMAZING property for 8 nights in April for Spring Break. The property has a nice layout, lots of amenities (washer/dryer, beach chairs came in handy), quiet private pool, and is only a two minute walk to an excellent snorkeling beach. You can’t go wrong renting this unit. We’ve stayed in several vrbo’s on the islands and definitely recommend it. The lanai (and lovely view) was our favorite! We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the beach gear. It was nice to not have to rent boogie boards and an umbrella. The complex is small and quiet, with a great pool. Britt was helpful when we needed an extra fan. Overall, a wonderful vacation on the BI.

This place was a real treat: great view from the lanai to accompany meals; nice spacious accomodation. Little things like having boogie boards to use, the pool is actually really nice, with it's own view, and on top of all that, a fantastic location across the street from one of the best snorkeling and beginning surf spots on the island.
It's away from the bustle of Kailua town, but only a 10-15 min drive there. There is a shopping center about 6 min drive that'll have whatever you need.
Really enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again for sure.

This is our second time staying in this condo complex, but first time in this unit. It was clean and had everything we needed. This is the best-stocked condo we've stayed in in Hawaii overall. It had beach chairs, sand toys, the kitchen had everything The furnishings could use an update as they are outdated. Walkable (across the street) to Kahalu'u for snorkeling and surfing, you do need to drive about 3 minutes away for dining and restaurants. Kona downtown is about 15 minutes to the north.

Nice property at a good price for two bedrooms. The unit is on the third floor, which makes views of the ocean better (but leads to climbing a lot of stairs if you are coming and going). The property is across the street from the beach, not on the beach. Convenient location, about 10-15 minutes south of the downtown Kona area. Struggled with the AC setup: You must pay extra if you want AC and it is on a timer that shuts off after a short amount of time. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. If you need two bedrooms at a reasonable price this will work well for you.

. This is our second trip to the Big Island. Previously we stayed north at the Fairmont Orchid, a five star hotel. We enjoyed that trip immensely, but this one was more economical and closer to restaurants and activities. I highly recommend this location. The two bedroom condo was perfect for our needs and was well-stocked with needed items. The only suggestion our entire family had was to upgrade the beds. Unfortunately, they were quite uncomfortable which can cause irritability when you don’t get a good night sleep. All four of us had the same complaint. Even so, the location and overall experience in this VRBO was excellent. The snorkeling in the bay below is some of the best on all the islands of Hawaii. We went to three other locations on the Big Island, and in front of this condo was the best with live coral and numerous ocean life. I would highly recommend staying here and would consider it again.

This is our 2nd stay at this condo and we love it! Awesome location, it is across the street from Kahaluu Beach Park, which has great snorkeling and surfing right next to it. You are also a short drive away from downtown Kona & numerous wonderful restaurants. The condo is really nicely furnished, very clean, well equipped and very comfy. It has a great view of the water off the lanai. The condo complex also has a pool & hot tub, although we did not use it much because the beautiful ocean is directly across the street! We did use the Weber grill, which was great to have access to that. Also the owners provide beach chairs, snorkel equipment and boogie boards, which came in very handy.
The owners are very prompt with communication and are great to deal with! We love this place & hope to be back again!

Owner is smart enough to realize the best owner has THE BEST SITE MANAGER. Britt was wonderful and the property is all the site shows. It was wonderful having my teenagers able to go and come from the beach as they wanted. It was so close! House was immaculate and so comfortable. The third floor breeze made sleeping so comfortable.

I've traveled extensively and, from the moment we stepped into this 2-bedroom unit all of our expectations were surpassed. To begin with, the unit was very clean and Britt left us a very nice welcome note, a place setting elegantly presented, and a collection of very helpful activity and dining pamphlets. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils, appliances and condiments. Also, all of the appliances (kitchen, bathroom, A/C, laundry) were in perfect working order and very well maintained and the beach gear was in great shape (boogie boards and snorkeling gear). Most importantly, the beds were all very comfortable. Lastly, Britt proved to be both very accessible and accommodating to our needs. We stayed at a Hilton resort later in the trip and boy did we miss this property's proximity to the beach and all its accouterments.

Condo was very, very clean which is hugely appreciated. 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, kitchen with spices, dining room, a lovely lanai that looks out onto the ocean, a wonderful snorkeling beach right across the street (snorkel gear is onsite if you want to use), private pool (which we wound up not using), and air conditioning. It is located on the 3rd floor with no one above you. There is an elevator to use if you don't want to take the stairs. Highly recommend this condo!!!! The owners are great to work with. Security deposit is refunded immediately. Will definitely stay here when we return.

We had the best vacation! The condo was just perfect! Clean, comfortable & well equipped! Waking up every morning to the beautiful view from the lanai was so amazing! The beach towels, snorkel gear & beach chairs were an added bonus. There was plenty of parking & the location was wonderful. It is directly across the street from Kahalu'u Beach Park, which was a great place to snorkel & surfing is right next to it. We saw many different types of fish and a few sea turtles, so cool. It is our first-time-experience to stay in a vacation home and also our first time to Hawaii. My husband was not sure if my decision is correct before our arrival since he worries about to stay in a vacation home will have more trouble than hotel. However, I am totally CORRECT this time!
Hee and James always replied my email in a speedy time and Brit took several phone calls from us and solved our questions at the same time! Brit is so helpful to us, she even mentioned that if we do have any question, just call her, don't be hesitate!
The 2 rooms are big enough for me, my husband and 2 kids. A lot of board games hidden in the TV stand storages helped my kids to kill their time. Washer and Dryer are very new. Kitchenware includes everything panini machine, juicer, ricer cooker, almost every kind of seasonings ... and full set of tableware as well which is really exciting to me as I never imagine a vacation house will have such a fully prepared kitchen! I can feel Hee and James have a great taste from the kitchen.
Rooms/bathrooms- Bathroom is Very Clean and Bright with soaps, shampoos, conditioner, and body wash. Master Room bed is very comfy but a little bit soft for us. 2nd Room's bed is good for kids- not too soft or too hard. Both rooms have TV and we watched a little bit for NBA final.
Closets have snorkeling equipment and surf board and toys to build sand castle. Very useful for us! Even has water shoes prepared. Very thoughtful!
Lani has the best view for sunset and the beach with coconut trees, we have one afternoon tea there.
Walking distance to the beach park across the street so we can go to the beach in the afternoon and back home to shower! The location we stayed is very calm and we really like it.
We used the AC but to be frankly just couple hours a day is enough, 4 hour timer is good. Sometimes we just turn on 2 hours and let it off to save the energy.
Just one thing that living room with carpet- which I like it but makes me sneeze a little bit, I tried to find vacuum cleaner but can't find it, since it is not a big deal so didn't call Brit for help.
Really like this vacation home, if I have chance, will definitely come back again!

Pictures of the property are spot-on. The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances and other kitchen accessories. Having a kitchen bar was fantastic for feeding the boys. Great location, close to Kona with lots of shopping and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and having two bathrooms was nice since there were four of us. Sunsets possible from either your private balcony or even from the infinity edge pool. Definitely some of the best snorkeling on the island right across the street.

First, I felt slightly misled by the cover photo expecting to be in the top floor "penthouse" pictured overlooking the pool area. Actual photos of the unit are in the ad though. This condo still has excellent ocean views from the balcony and is in a good location across the road from a great snorkeling spot and close to several nice beaches. The condo is well appointed with all kinds of extras, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, sand/kids toys, extra linens, etc... pretty much everything you need. $10/day extra for A/C is reasonable and if you stay in the summertime I highly recommend or it gets a bit warm inside. Wouldn't hesitate to stay at this property again.

Beautiful home next to the best snorkeling on the island. We spent a week in this lovely place during our kids' spring break. We went to the pool once, but when you can swim with turtles in cove across the street, the pool was completely abandoned :). The house is also beautifully and wonderfully equipped with a bunch of kitchen appliances and beach supplies. Unlike some others, we did use the AC, but only turned it on for an hour or so during the hottest part of the day. In fact, there was only one issue with the place - it's on the 3rd floor. it was a bit difficult to haul large pieces of luggage and groceries up 3 flights of stairs, but that's the price for the beautiful sunset view over the ocean from the lanai.

We truly enjoyed our stay in this well-maintained condo that is conveniently located just across the street from one of the best snorkel beaches in the Hawaiian islands. We very much appreciated the timely and thorough communication with the owners (James and Hee). They are on top of it! The property manager (Britt) was welcoming and exceptionally helpful (she even found a coupon for a local establishment to give to us). The condo itself is well-appointed and beautifully decorated, and included useful amenities such as snorkeling equipment for us to borrow. One minor thing for the building owner to consider is putting up a patio umbrella by the pool for those who want to be outside and enjoy the view of the ocean across the street while being protected from the sun. We stayed here for one week in January. We were very impressed with the location. It is just across the road from Kahaluu Bay ranked as one of the best snorkel locations in the area. The colorful variety of sea life in the underwater world being so close was a real advantage. We could check the surf level from our lanai and see if it would be a good time to head to the water. We usually began our days on the lanai and ended our day there as well. James and Hee were so thoughtful with including so many amenities to make our stay very comfortable. It felt private, yet close to everything we needed. The elevator was extremely handy when bringing in groceries or just coming and going. The surf is too high? No problem. Enjoy the privacy of the pool with view of the bay. There is a grill near the pool and Kualoa Ranch was just down the road with reasonably priced items for grilling. Thank you to James and Hee for our home away from home. We also appreciated the prompt return of our security deposit.

Our visit couldn't have been better. The location and accommodations were perfect. The only downside was the closing of the beach just across the street which had happened a few days before we arrived. Other than that, we had five full days of sightseeing, eating and basically relaxing. The accommodations had everything we needed and a wonderful view from the lanai. We did not use the air conditioner but relied on the ceiling fans to keep us comfortable. Overall the fans worked quite well.

We stayed in this condo for 10 days in late December and found it had everything we needed, all the rooms were comfortable. The kitchen worked well and we were able to eat most of our meals there. There is a grocery store very close by and restaurants too. We loved the view of the ocean from the lanai and that you could walk across to the beach to watch the sunset. My husband and daughter also took surfing lessons at the beach across the road and had a blast.

Wonderful condo. The place was very clean and has everything you need. It is right across from a great snorkeling beach. You could snorkel for the afternoon or just 20 minutes for a quick swim before you head out for the day.
It is located close to a shopping center. The condo is located 4 or 5 miles south of the main shopping area on Alii drive. Its an easy drive into Kona or the trolley runs right by the front of the condo if you prefer that.
The pool area was nice also. There are grills and it overlooks the beach.
We would definitely stay here the next time we are in Kona

My husband and I stayed here with another couple and loved it! The condo is well stocked and the location is great. It's close enough to the downtown area but you still get some peace and quiet. The beach across the street is awesome for snorkeling and you can see all kinds of fish. It was a bonus having the snorkeling equipment and beach gear provided! We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the lanai watching the surf and sat out there in the evenings to wind down. Within a few days of being on the Big Island we started planning on returning in a few years. This condo will definitely be on our list of potential places to stay when we come back!

We have just returned from a 2 week trip here as my husband competed in the Ironman event. We took our 2 children aged 9 and 6. From the moment we booked the accommodation Hee and James were so helpful always replying promptly.
The apartment is literally a home from home everything you need is in there from cooking utensils to beach gear and beach towels. The beds are also super comfy (this was a huge bonus after travelling 27 hours from the UK)
We hired a car from a recommendation from Hee and James which was a huge benefit and again was really well organised.
Kona is a beautiful place and we would recommend a trip to Hapuna Beach, captain cooks cove for snorkelling and the manta ray trip. The beach opposite is great for spotting the turtles and the ice shaves from the van were a huge hit.
All in all a fantastic place to stay. I already miss sitting on the balcony watching the sunset!

Condo was more than we expected, clean and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need.
1 min walk to the beach, fantastic view and lovely pool. Easy to find and close to everything. Restaurants are only 5 miles away or just up the street you can find a handful. You really don't need to bring anything. Fridge even had food in it. Big beach bag, 2 coolers, ice packs and much more.

We were very excited to book our first trip to Hawai'i and found this listing on Trip Advisor, a service we have never used before. From the moment we contacted Hee and James, they responded quickly and were very helpful and friendly throughout our contact with them.
We spent a week in July at their beautiful 2 bedroom penthouse and were impressed by the cleanliness and how well it was maintained. The location was so convenient as it was close to the airport, shopping, and the incredible snorkeling beach literally across the street.
They had so many amenities, from beach gear, to appliances, that were included. As well, there was on-site assistance if necessary and Hee and James made very helpful recommendations of activities on the island. Our family of 4 was comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kona.
We will definitely be back and would recommend this to our friends and family.

We recently stayed at this property for 4 days with our grade school aged daughter. We should have stayed longer. The owners were in touch throughout the process and have a great onsite person to help when you come stay. No need to worry about this aspect of things.
This is a great alternative to a hotel where you will have to park your car a mile away. We were able to park our car right outside the building and easily take luggage/beach items/groceries back and forth with the elevator. We walked half a block to the world class snorkel beach across the street but also set out to locations up and down the coast. This is truly a halfway point to most things you want to see and do. We ate all our meals on the lovely deck and utilized all kinds of things in the well stocked kitchen. The beds and bedrooms are both sophisticated and comfortable. The showers are amazing! The condo is full of beach items. There is a lovely pool and jacuzzi that we always had to ourselves. The view is out over the ocean. It is quiet, beautiful and easy.
We recommend heading down to the bay right at the edge of The Sheraton nearby. There is excellent paddle boarding, more snorkeling and both fishing and snorkel boat tours right there(across from the drive that turns into the hotel). No need to always go into the more crowded downtown Kona area for these things. Our favorite nice meal out was at Ray's on the Bay at the Sheraton! Truly magical outdoor seating at sunset.
Our kid was enchanted, we were totally relaxed, --it was wonderful. We will come back!
***PS-don't forget to add the volcano to your trip. There is no way a brochure or travel book can prepare you to see into a lake of lava on a pitch black night with a sky full of stars above you. I guarantee you want to experience that:)! Rent the condo for the whole week for ease and take a day and a night to head over to the national park. It's a whole different place over there. Like being in the Jurrasic Park movie. Really cool.

James' and Hee's condo is a fantastic place to stay on the Big Island. The condo is clean, modern and well appointed. It really feels like a home away from home. They are very responsive and professional with their communication, which made a first time VRBO.com user, like me, feel very much at ease. They also provided several "insider" recommendations which proved to be fantastic! The condo is just a few minutes away from Kona and is situated directly across the street from a great beach for snorkeling (Kahaluu). The pool is warm and has lovely views overlooking Kahaluu beach park. The entire complex, including the pool area, is generally quiet and doesn't feel crowded. Overall, we were extremely happy that we decided to book this condo and had a fantastic time on our vacation!

We loved the condo and all it had to offer. It was so nice having a fully stocked kitchen, and a lanai that looked out on the ocean! We ate breakfast out on the Lanai every morning! It was the best start of the day. The kitchen is fully stocked as I mentioned above with more than just pots and pans, but also a toaster, electric grill, rice cooker, blender etc!
The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms really clean and large! We opted for 2 nights without the A/C and then caved on the third night and asked for AC. With the tropical weather comes bugs and the screen doors were not enough to keep them out so keeping the doors open at night were not an option. However, the A/C kept us nice and cool and gave us the much needed rest.
Here is the biggest perk... right across the street is a Kahuluu park... one of the best snorkel beaches for beginners. It's shallow and well populated and has a life guard. There is also a section of this beach that offers surfing lessons and paddleboarding. Highly recommended before you venture out to some of the other snorkeling locations :)

We have stayed in units in this complex several times in the past. Always love this complex - great views, perfect location across from Kahalu Beach Park (awesome snorkeling). Nice new units. This unit did not let us down! Beautifully decorated and very clean when we arrived. Britt met us there when we arrived - it was great having a contact on site even though we didn't need anything all week. The owner checked in within minutes of our arrival as well. I must say of the dozen or so rentals we have stayed in over the past few years, this was the best equipped with beach supplies! Good quality chairs, coolers, boogie boards, umbrellas and snorkeling gear. Most importantly, for a family full of desert rats, the a/c is awesome! We paid the extra for it and would do it again every time! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

We just finished a one week stay at Hee and James' condo. My wife and I were traveling with our two children - both in their mid-twenties. Everyone loved this unit!
Location - Directly across the street is a park which offers beach, snorkeling, and a bit of surfing. Perhaps a half mile away is a shopping center. The south end of Ali'i Drive is perhaps 2 miles south and there you can park and walk along the undeveloped coastline.
Pretrip info - Before we arrived Hee and James sent complete information about accessing the unit, things to do, etc. They were very responsive to the few questions I had.
On arrival Britt, their property manager, was there to answer any questions and to be sure everything was good. We found the unit to be VERY clean and well-equipped. We hit Costco on the way into town and found the kitchen had everything we needed for a week of cooking. We have vacationed in Hawaii perhaps 10 times and this is the first unit that had a reverse osmosis drinking water supply. If you've been to Hawaii, too, you'll know how nice that is!
The unit was also well supplied with masks, snorkels, a boogie board, a brand new gas grill available near the pool and (during our stay at least) plenty of parking places. The WiFi worked all the time and easily handled all of us online at the same time.
