This was our first visit to the Big Island. This condominium is well located and the common areas of the complex are well maintained i.e. pool, hot tub, tennis/pickleball areas. We could easily drive to the grocery store, walk down to the Magic Sands beach and enjoy the restaurant and coffee bar nearby. The children, ages 6 & 4, were able to play in the sand on the beach and we enjoyed watching the high surf our first week. There are better swimming/play areas within close driving distance.The unit is well supplied with the essentials and well maintained. The washer/dryer were amazing! The outside decks were really nice.We enjoyed our stay, found activities easily accessible and recommend this location and property to others considering a visit to this area. Thank you.

Nothing can beat this wrap around porch with a view of the beautiful ocean. Woke up each morning to do a workout followed by breakfast as I watched the world come to life. Great location to be away from the business of Kona, but close enough to take a little drive to enjoy the shopping and night life. No beach at Magic Sands, but we were able to drive a short ways to find one. Everything from check in to check out was perfect and the unit was everything as advertised and more.

We stayed in this condo for a week and it was a great base for our first trip to the Big Island. I was impressed by how well stocked it was. Other than groceries, we didn't need anything extra. The location across from Magic Sands Beach was great. There were large winter swells during our stay so we didn't go in the water there much, but it was nice to watch the sunset from the beach most nights. We were also close to some of our main activities (snorkeling at Two Step and Captain Cook, manta ray night snorkel) plus lots of restaurants were just a few minutes by car. The condo had an affordable enough rate that we did a side trip with an overnight in Hilo/Volcano area to see the eruption. Coming back to the condo felt like coming home!The condo complex had lots of amenities and we enjoyed swimming and the hot tub most days. The grounds are quite pretty. There is also a pool table, BBQ grills, and tennis courts but we were so busy doing ocean activities we never used them.We had one small issue with the A/C being down our first night, but there were plenty of ceiling fans and ocean air to get by. The host was very communicative before we arrived about the issue and it was taken care of right away. The unit has things like boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas. If you are snorkeling consider bringing your own or renting snorkeling equipment as there was only enough fins for two people. We easily rented some just down the road. We hope to stay here again!

This is a very comfortable unit with plenty of room for 4 people. The unit is a little worn in places and the linens are a little skimpy. The beds are a little firm if that is an issue for you. The owner is very pleasant and responsive.

This rental was perfect for our family of four. 3rd floor unit offers excellent views of both the pool area and beach/ocean. Spacious, well laid out and well-appointed with everything you need from making meals to going to the beach. Joanne went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. Good showers and beds. 4 miles south of Kona and easy access to highway bypassing Kona for those days you go off exploring. If you're an early riser, there are dedicated walking/ biking lanes on both sides of Ali'i drive with plenty of other beaches and shoreline accesses within walking distance to discover. Definitely recommend!

Our criteria for a family of 4 includes:Space: it had two bedrooms, one of the bedrooms has two separate beds for the 2 kids. The living room also has a pullout - not sure they mention that in the description. Proximity to beach: very close to magic sands , although the beach had no sand due to high surf in winter. In summer or other months it likely does. We couldn’t go into the water at all due to how tight it was in Dec- early jan. Laundry: unit had one, not sure why they don’t provide laundry detergent/ it is a small thing - and a huge miss in my opinion. Place is really close to Keahou shopping center - which has nice restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed golfing at Kona club and visiting coffee plantations, especially Heavenly. Small standalone ac units in each room in addition to central one. Generally, the bathrooms are dated and hit water was an issue/ it was generally warm and the bathroom shower operation isn’t good. There are some beach items available / we found the beach umbrella and beach mats useful. Would be great to add a couple beach chairs. We did not use pool or common areas, but saw people using them/ including gas grills by the pool.

Our family of six stayed for 5 nights here. The location was perfect - quick access to down town Kona, directly across from Magic Sands Beach, 15 minutes from Walmart and about an hour from the North Kona coast. The lanai was our favorite part of the condo - the view of the ocean was beautiful and we spent most of our time in the condo on the lanai. The Condo was as advertised, we also took advantage to enjoy the pool, BBQ gills, and hot tub on the property. It was just the right size for our family of 4. We were very happy with the directions and instructions sent by the owners. Having the trolly/bus was a big advantage as it costs to park everywhere. A great location with several of the bays/public beaches withing a short walk or quick drive.

This is the second time we stayed in this unit and we love this spot. The furnishings are a bit dated and the primary bedroom tv was sub-par, but with the view, location and other amenities at the condo complex, we easily overlooked those items. Management company was amazing and very responsive to all of our emails and questions.

This condo is perfectly located within the White Sands Village just a few hundred feet from Magic Sands Beach. The owners have taken great care of this property which made for an amazing family experience on the Big Island. More than enough amenities are here for you to enjoy - Bring your swim wear, grab your rental car and groceries and you’re all set with everything you need. Will stay here each and every time we return, if possible! Can’t recommend enough!

The condo was comfortable and well-furnished. Yet location was just right - on Ali’i Dtive, convenient to almost everything on the Kona side of the island but not too close so you don’t get caught up in the Ali’i Drive traffic jams. And right across the street from Magic Sands beach. Since the condo was at the back of the building, there was no street noise. Our only issue was with the elevator. Yes, there is an elevator, but you still have to walk up a half-flight of stairs to get to the condo. Not a big deal unless you are two old women each trying to haul a large suitcase up those stairs. This was only a minor issue, though . Overall, we had a great time here.

There were lots of pluses to the unit. Nice being right by the elevator and close to pool entrance. The shades on the lanai were great as the sun this time of year shines right in. Everything was neat and clean except prior guests left dishes and silverware not quite clean so we washed them by hand to get the residue off. It was wonderful having a regular coffee maker as well as Keurig as we don't use the pods. Beds were very comfy and we love the location and have stayed at the complex before. We will definitely be going back again.

White Sands is an older property but very well cared for. The pool area was great, but some renovations made it hard to enjoy during the days, but night swims were great. BBQ area is very clean and nice to hang out at. Our condo was on the mauka side just over the tennis courts. Not ideal when pickle ballers were playing, but very peaceful at night! The unit was nicely appointed and had everything we needed and more. Very clean and easy to access. Only thing missing was a little better view, but value for the dollar, hands down a win.

I would give a 10 star rating. The condo was spotless; beautifully decorated/ very comfortable beds; everything you need for cooking is there. Excellent location/views; easy check in with a parking spot available. I loved hearing the birds in the morning. Magic Sand Beach just across the street with brilliant sunsets.

We loved the mid-century modern furnishings. The building was in a safe and quiet area, close to downtown Hilo. We loved waking up to the sounds of the local birds in the park behind us. In all ways an excellent two bedroom condo for the island experience! Just steps away from a beautiful beach, great food and situated to explore the amazing island and its 11 Eco systems. Rent a jeep and have an amazing vacation. We will be back and rent this very well apportioned condo. I'm 73 with a lower back issues requiring fusion surgery in a few months, and my daughter and I have travelled twice before to the big island for two weeks each time. This is my 7th 2 week trip to the BI, and by far the best. Easy access to Magic Sands, very good beds, Lanai on the shady side of the building, decent water pressure, dishwasher, side by side fridge, and two bathrooms gave us more comfort than we needed. The parking spot is a few steps away from the ramp to the elevator, and the room is only 2 doors from the elevator, so everything is easy on the old body. We hit all of our favorite beaches, the weather was great, and the surf low. We befriended the geckos on the lanai during the day, and could listen to the ocean at night when the local traffic is light. I couldn't hike on this trip, but we managed to do a big day in Hilo. Local black beaches were the best snorkeling and vibe, but we got the last of the 40 public parking spots on Mauna Kea on our second last day. Communication with the host was helpful and fast, and it was the best money I have spent on the island. I hope to be lucky enough to get back to this exact unit at least one more time.

Location is amazing with easy access to beach. Pool is fabulous and the unit was as described. Google maps made finding our parking space a challenge in the dark. Josh was very responsive to any questions throughout our stay so never felt alone. Great trip.

We really enjoyed the location of the condo. The shower in the master bathroom could use an update, but other than that the condo was updated and comfortable. We really appreciated having a washer/dryer in the condo.
