This unit has so much potential to be a 5 star option but it does need alot of updates. Several things need replaced: queen mattress (very worn in/sags), blinds (doesn’t have a good working mechanism to open/shut in main bedroom), screen doors (easily come off the tracks, a bit difficult to slide open/close, gaps that allow bugs in), pillows. We loved the layout, the open living room with wall to wall patio doors was beautiful. It did get very hot during the day but cooled off throughout the night with all the windows and doors open. With that did come a lot of noise so just be advised if traveling with sensitive sleepers or young children. Birds were pretty standard alarm clocks at 6am sharp and the neighbors to the back were a bit loud. Multiple vehicles coming and going including a motorcycle that revved loudly early most mornings. The host was great at staying in touch and answering questions that arose. The shower head broke during our stay and it was replaced very quickly.We enjoyed the pool, no complaints. We appreciated the items by the pool that were available to borrow, such as the boogie boards and beach chairs but it did seem like most of the items like that had been left behind by other guests and several things were broken. Would have appreciated a few things that were lacking such as a water filter jug in the fridge, tissues, Clorox wipes for counters after cooking, additional toilet paper. Loved being able to do laundry.

The property was clean and spacious and exactly as described and shown in pictures. The condo came equiped with the "extras" that were very helpful: beach chairs, snorkel gear, and sunbrella's. What was not listed was the surprising symphony of birds off of the balcony that played twice a day. It was magical! Also, the owners helped me find the place after having flight delays and getting to the complex after dark. Overall White Sands Village is a great location. Close to Kona and across the street from White Sands Beach. The condo offers all the amenities that you may need. The unit has a wrap around lanai. One side of the lanai has tall foliage which adds to the privacy of the unit. Outside amenities include 3 grills outside pool and hot tub and sauna. Karen the owner is very easy to get a hold of. I loved being able to see the ocean right from the lanai! Parking was right next to the elevator so it was really convenient. We enjoyed the pool/jacuzzi/sauna.We thought the bed was a little hard for us (i just prefer a bed on the softer side) but we ended up sleeping on the pull out couch. The owners were super responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

This was a very comfortable place to stay on the big island. This VRBO was probably the best equipped apartment we’ve ever stayed in. I really appreciated the Keurig coffee maker. We use one of these at home and love the five star coffee it makes. The exterior services of pool hot tub grills were all very good. In the evening, we could walk a mere 500 steps to the shoreline to see the sunsets. The beds and bedding were comfortable, and the showers were very good as well. Lots of cooking utensils we would stay here again.

We enjoyed the location and the lanai. Beds were not made when we arrived. Found out 3 days later the cleaners never showed up before our arrival. So bedding there was not washed. Then host asked if cleaners could come clean while we were there. Host does not live in area so there is no quality control to make sure cleaners are doing their job.

We arrived to a spotlessly clean condo with all the conveniences of home. We love the large lanai which is perfect for watching the ocean waves or the beautiful sunsets. The bed was very comfy and the kitchen was fully equipped. Everything we needed for a day at the beach was appreciated - comfy beach chairs, coolers, even snorkel gear. What a great place to stay while vacationing along the Kona coast! Perfect for a family or one or two couples. My wife, adult daughter, and I enjoyed every minute of our four-day visit and only wish we could have stayed longer. The unit is spacious, in great condition, and equipped with endless amenities. We stayed in this condo with our daughter, son-in-law and their 15 month old baby. The unit was comfortable and well equipped. The balcony was really nice and had great furniture and view. The shower in the main bedroom’s bath is tricky. There is a little lever on the shower head and the water doesn’t work if you don’t know about it. Bedroom tv was difficult, couldn’t make it change channels. But overall we had a great stay. The complex was great for spending time with other family members who were rending other condos in WSV at the same time. We had a big BBQ by the pool, the kids swam 2-3 times a day and the young people loved playing tennis. We also loved having meals at the Magics restaurant across the street.

On the 3rd floor the balcony put you right at the tree tops. Perfect for bird watching and still see the sunsets over the Pacific. It is in the furthest building from Ali’i drive so very quiet and private. The condo is very well equipped and updated thermostat and front door lock was convenient. Clean quiet and comfortable is the trifecta for a wonderful holiday.

This was our first visit to the Big Island. This condominium is well located and the common areas of the complex are well maintained i.e. pool, hot tub, tennis/pickleball areas. We could easily drive to the grocery store, walk down to the Magic Sands beach and enjoy the restaurant and coffee bar nearby. The children, ages 6 & 4, were able to play in the sand on the beach and we enjoyed watching the high surf our first week. There are better swimming/play areas within close driving distance.The unit is well supplied with the essentials and well maintained. The washer/dryer were amazing! The outside decks were really nice.We enjoyed our stay, found activities easily accessible and recommend this location and property to others considering a visit to this area. Thank you.

Nothing can beat this wrap around porch with a view of the beautiful ocean. Woke up each morning to do a workout followed by breakfast as I watched the world come to life. Great location to be away from the business of Kona, but close enough to take a little drive to enjoy the shopping and night life. No beach at Magic Sands, but we were able to drive a short ways to find one. Everything from check in to check out was perfect and the unit was everything as advertised and more.

We stayed in this condo for a week and it was a great base for our first trip to the Big Island. I was impressed by how well stocked it was. Other than groceries, we didn't need anything extra. The location across from Magic Sands Beach was great. There were large winter swells during our stay so we didn't go in the water there much, but it was nice to watch the sunset from the beach most nights. We were also close to some of our main activities (snorkeling at Two Step and Captain Cook, manta ray night snorkel) plus lots of restaurants were just a few minutes by car. The condo had an affordable enough rate that we did a side trip with an overnight in Hilo/Volcano area to see the eruption. Coming back to the condo felt like coming home!The condo complex had lots of amenities and we enjoyed swimming and the hot tub most days. The grounds are quite pretty. There is also a pool table, BBQ grills, and tennis courts but we were so busy doing ocean activities we never used them.We had one small issue with the A/C being down our first night, but there were plenty of ceiling fans and ocean air to get by. The host was very communicative before we arrived about the issue and it was taken care of right away. The unit has things like boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas. If you are snorkeling consider bringing your own or renting snorkeling equipment as there was only enough fins for two people. We easily rented some just down the road. We hope to stay here again!

This rental was perfect for our family of four. 3rd floor unit offers excellent views of both the pool area and beach/ocean. Spacious, well laid out and well-appointed with everything you need from making meals to going to the beach. Joanne went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. Good showers and beds. 4 miles south of Kona and easy access to highway bypassing Kona for those days you go off exploring. If you're an early riser, there are dedicated walking/ biking lanes on both sides of Ali'i drive with plenty of other beaches and shoreline accesses within walking distance to discover. Definitely recommend!

Our criteria for a family of 4 includes:Space: it had two bedrooms, one of the bedrooms has two separate beds for the 2 kids. The living room also has a pullout - not sure they mention that in the description. Proximity to beach: very close to magic sands , although the beach had no sand due to high surf in winter. In summer or other months it likely does. We couldn’t go into the water at all due to how tight it was in Dec- early jan. Laundry: unit had one, not sure why they don’t provide laundry detergent/ it is a small thing - and a huge miss in my opinion. Place is really close to Keahou shopping center - which has nice restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed golfing at Kona club and visiting coffee plantations, especially Heavenly. Small standalone ac units in each room in addition to central one. Generally, the bathrooms are dated and hit water was an issue/ it was generally warm and the bathroom shower operation isn’t good. There are some beach items available / we found the beach umbrella and beach mats useful. Would be great to add a couple beach chairs. We did not use pool or common areas, but saw people using them/ including gas grills by the pool.

The location was perfect - quick access to down town Kona, directly across from Magic Sands Beach, 15 minutes from Walmart and about an hour from the North Kona coast. The lanai was our favorite part of the condo - the view of the ocean was beautiful and we spent most of our time in the condo on the lanai. We were very happy with the directions and instructions sent by the owners. Having the trolly/bus was a big advantage as it costs to park everywhere.
