This was the best Vrbo we have ever experienced! The property was exactly as pictured, and Holly was friendly, a good communicator, and left all sorts of nice extras for our stay! Attention to detail and available options in the condo made for a wonderful stay. The sunsets were unbelievable - right off the lanai, looked like postcards! Highly recommend to anyone!!

This property over-books a gorgeous view and has surfing nearby that you can see from the lanai. The property was super clean and well stocked. Beds were very very comfortable. The second bedroom had two twins and our son who is 6’4” said the bed was really comfortable. The only suggestion is that room has an older window that doesn’t shut well. So he wore ear plugs while sleeping. Otherwise he mentioned a lot of road noise during the night. We would definitely rent this again if we return to Kona. Thank you to the host and for stocking this so well especially the island treats.

My husband and I spent a week at this condo. The view is amazing, beyond words! It’s about as close to the water as you can get without being on a boat! Watched surfers, sea turtle and fish in the waves and beautiful sunsets right from the balcony! Location was close to shopping and restaurants. The volcano and Black Sand Beach was a bit of a drive but well worth it! So many snorkeling spots very close to the condo. We had a four wheel drive and we’re able to access some remote beaches too. So appreciate how well equipped the condo was, shampoo, soaps, laundry detergent, beach chairs, cooler, rain ponchos and umbrella (light rain at the volcano) binoculars, spices, paper towels etc. wow… well thought out. Master bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows. Second bedroom is on the roadside of the condo, we didn’t use as our college kids stayed home on this trip but it would have been fine for them. Kitchen was well equipped and we used the grills down below a few times, perfect. Super quiet complex with a view second to none.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holly’s condo. The two bedroom condo was perfect for our family of four. The kitchen was fully equipped with absolutely everything one would need to prepare any meal and having laundry was a huge bonus. The air conditioning worked perfectly and parking was plentiful and easily accessible. We spent many hours on the spacious lanai enjoying the sea breeze and listening to the waves crash on the rocks. Every night we were treated to an amazing sunset. The location made it easy to explore nearby shops, restaurants and coffee farms. The host Holly was easy to work with and provided detailed directions and recommendations for us. We hope to return someday!

The location was perfect, and so was the view. Things that I like to know when I'm looking for a place are as follows:
1. Perfectly equipped, the kitchen (tools and even spices) the bathrooms, laundry liquid. What I learned is, it is a luxury to have such a huge quantity of towels, there were SO MANY, bath and beach and I never knew how much I would love this. The only downside (probably covid related) they are missing masks in the toy closet and no cooler so bring or buy. Very comfortable bed, however I dont know why they have synthetic sheets in a hot climate.
2. Other conveniences. Parking was easy and shaded because its under the building. Pool was clean and pretty quiet but doesnt have a view of the ocean. They didnt have a working wash off area near the beach for sand. BBQs were awesome, when you find a working one (the complex maintenance diligently clean them daily but apparently dont check to see if they are working so we had to walk to other units with food etc.) The plethora of fans were AWESOME.
3. Communication was good enough. Check in with a code was very easy. Great instructions for the property, and notes for specifics left for us in the kitchen e.g. water in fridge was broken but very thoughtful and perfect to have brita in the fridge for us. I did send a mail in advance requesting some recommendations for dinner but the response was delayed and didnt contain that type of info, so do your research in advance.

This condo is beautiful, super clean and well stocked and just as pictured. Holly was super responsive when I needed to contact her in attempting to resolve an issue. The views are amazing and we slept listening to the sounds of crashing waves. The only drawback for us is 1 of the 2 Community grilling areas is directly below this unit, which attracts a lot of people; which turns into noise. The property did strictly enforce the 9PM noise curfew after I called.

The unit is on the top floor (4 stories only) with perfect non-blocked views of the ocean. Close to the action of Kona but far enough away for quite nights. The whole unit is nonsmoking which I liked too. Highly reccoment. Thx for a fabulous stay!

Had a great stay at this condo. Four of us had plenty of room. The view of the ocean is great, we had breakfast on the lanai every morning and watched the whales. We saw a couple turtles as well right off shore. The location is close to town and is convenient to explore different parts of the island as well.

This place exceeded expectations in almost every way. The unit was furnished very well for our family of 6. Plenty of towels, dishes and beach chairs, umbrellas and snorkel gear. The view from the balcony was perfect with very comfortable seating and a table for meals. Plenty of parking. The tide pools in front of the property kept the family entertained many times.
The only downside is the hot tub by the pool is quite small. There is an elevator but we used the stairs most of the time.
We would definitely return to this unit.

Condo was exactly as described and pictures. Traveling with 3 teenagers, this condo was comfortable and well equipped. Loved having laundry on-site! Spent many hours just relaxing on the lanai, in the pool or on property grounds. Holly was very responsive with any questions - only had a slight problem with air conditioner but she and her maintenance staff worked quickly to get it resolved. Would highly recommend Kona Bali Kai (unit 421) and Holly!

The place was great.
The ocean view off the balcony is burned our minds. Sleeping with the slider open was awesome. The location was near shops and restaurants and farmer's markets but away from the crowds (we had a car - not walking distance from town). The unit had nice towels, coffee, sunscreen, washer/dryer... felt comfortable and welcoming. Really like a friend's personal place, not sterile or uniform.
The only negative, and it's a small one, is there is only 1 elevator in the facility. The unit is on the 4th floor and at an end of the facility, so if stairs are an issue for you, heads up.
We had a simple concern and Holly was available and helpful. Like the unit, she was great. We loved our Kona getaway and the place was a big part of our experience.

We were impressed the moment we opened the door. Everything was exactly as pictured in the VRBO ad. We used the lanai overlooking the beautiful beach every morning for breakfast and coffee. This unit has been well taken care of and seems to have been renovated in the past few years. The air conditioning system kept us nice and cool on a few humid nights and was well appreciated. The neighbors were quiet and friendly. Holly did a great job guiding us through the check in process and recommending local restaurants for our stay. We're already looking forward to a return trip and would not hesitate to stay again; would fully recommend it.

We had a delightful four day stay here. The unit was clean and just as pictured on VRBO. The views from the balcony were amazing, and we were able to see several pods of dolphins as they passed by.
The unit is about a mile or so from the little shopping area/restaurants north of the condo, and was a short drive to one of our favorite lunch spots (Magic’s Beach Grill).
Only slight issues for us: 1) There was no beach at the property (but there were a couple of public spots not too far away), and the unit was a little dark (even with all the curtains open).
All in all, a good stay.

Spent three nights here after three nights at Volcanoes National Park. Perfect apartment if u want to see and hear crashing waves from bedroom and living room. Opened both sliders onto spacious lanai and were in heaven. HWonderful meals at Magic’s Grill, Papa Kona’s, and Fish Hopper - all less than 10 min away. Apt is clean and well maintained in a modest condo complex on the coast. Walked on the rocks around the tide pools and enjoyed gorgeous sunsets from our own lanai. Would definitely stay here again.

The condo is even better than advertised as the patio faces the pacific so you have gorgeous sunrises over the mountain out the front door and amazing sunsets right off of your patio. The property is well maintained and easily accessible to shopping. We had our two grown sons with us and the 4 of us had plenty of space. I would highly recommend this condo.

We loved the ocean front location and enjoyed watching the waves, turtles and surfers from the wonderful balcony. We found it easy to take day trips to northern beaches, Hilo and Volcanoes National Park from this location. We enjoyed relaxing in this comfortable condo and took advantage of the AC on especially hot days. It was well stocked with paper supplies and household products. We especially appreciated the beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers. The condo complex was well maintained with security on the premises. We found convenient shopping in Kona and in the Keauhou areas. If we are lucky enough to return to the Big Island in the future we would choose this condo again. Mahalo to the owners!

Note: The Kona Bali Kai complex itself has the feel of a 1970s condo complex (as do many of the condos in this part of Hawaii). Holly's unit was nicely updated and the older feel did not impact our stay in the slightest.

The condo is clean and comfy... and stocked with everything you could need! We used the beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels and cooler provided! That is so convenient and appreciated! You don't even have to worry about buying toilet paper, laundry/dish soap, salt/pepper... it's already there! The views from this condo are amazing... so amazing that it is hard to pull yourself away from the lanai' to go sight seeing! We didn't use the pool area, but it looked nice and clean. My husband loved the gas grills on the property. We watched the maintenance guys clean them and cover them up for the night. They are very well taken care of and it was nice to be able to use them. Margie and Holly are the best, anything you need is addressed right away. Thank you so much for everything, we can't wait to return!

This was a wonderful unit. We saw dolphins off the coast our first morning there and sea turtles below our lanai every day. The fully stocked kitchen was incredible. There was even a rice maker so my 14 year old made us chicken fried rice one evening. Towels, beach chairs this condo was what we were looking for and Holly was available if we needed her (which we didn’t). I highly recommend.

This condo unit was everything and more! Clean and well appointed with views that the photos just don’t do it justice. Centrally located we found it to be convenient to everything in Kailua-Kona. It was a wonderful place to stay and made our family trip even more complete. The lanai became our gathering point in the morning watching sea turtles in the tide pools and the surfers down the shore. At night, when the skies were clear the lanai made a great space for stargazing. Holly was responsive and helpful with all our inquiries. The process was flawless. Highly recommend this unit if going to the Big Island. We will certainly look to see if available the next time we visit.

This was my fourth trip to Kona. My previous stays were at Kona Coast condos, and the Royal Kona. This condo, situated right between the two an Ali’i Drive, was so much better! The unit has absolutely everything you will need. Plenty of beach towels, beautiful kitchen, comfy beds, clean and nicely decorated bathrooms, etc. Even beach chairs, umbrella, and beach cooler! But the best part is the lanai. The view from the top floor lanai is breath taking! Each morning, we awoke to the waves crashing on the rocks and the birds singing. We spent part of each day sipping our coffee, watching the waves, and searching for turtles. There is a small bit of sand that we set up for our afternoon, and watched the turtles play. Later, back to the lanai for the most spectacular sunsets. Beautiful condo, with all the supplies, and perfectly situated with a spectacular view. Can’t wait to come back.

Pros- location is less than 10 min to grocery store and town. Very convenient. Comfy beds. Well-stocked kitchen WITH coffee grinders (a must in Kona). Excellent view for sunsets and watching surfers and sea turtles from lanai. Very clean. Outside grills by ocean were cleaned daily. Convenient parking under building.
Cons- can't really think of any. I was grilling at about 9:30pm one evening, and the security guy told me that grilling stops at 9pm. He was wanting to lock up the propane tanks. He let me finish, and was super nice about it. But, if you plan on grilling, don't do it very late.
