We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was convenient to Kona restaurants and shopping and also to the Kona coffee farms. Nice furniture inside and out. The lanai was very spacious and a good place to enjoy the ocean view. As someone who appreciates good coffee, finding a coffee grinder in the kitchen was a nice touch. A four port charger for devices was in the living room which was useful and not something we usually find in rental properties. There were fans everywhere which helped keep the place cool. It was hot when we visited and the ceiling fan in the master bedroom seemed underpowered compared to the ceiling fans in the rest of the property but the available floor fans helped. Kitchen seemed to have everything you would need. We couldn’t figure out how to turn on the kitchen fan without turning on the kitchen light which was a minor inconvenience. The living room seemed dark with the dark wood and the dark upholstery. Lighter upholstery would have made the room seem brighter.

This property showed the most amazing sunsets. I loved eating breakfast on the balcony and sitting on the balcony while the sun went down. It’s a quick drive to down town area, and a quick walk to a marketplace with a taco food truck. Great location.

We had a great stay at this ocean view condo. The kitchen was very well stocked which made the little bit of cooking that we did a breeze! The host shared a wealth of very useful information that helped us plan our adventures around the Big Island. The beach chairs came in handy for trips to the surrounding beaches. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens). Sunsets and lanai area were wonderful. Nice to be at a smaller property as nothing was crowded or noisy. Condo was really well stocked with necessities saving us time and money: coffee, laundry detergent, first aid kit, ziplock bags etc. You can tell the host comes and stays occasionally and was really attentive. Kids saw turtles in the tide pools on the first day!

This was our first visit to Hawaii big island it was so much fun. Best feature is the ocean view especially during sunset. The condo was clean and well prepared with everything you need for water activities like snorkeling gear and small surf boards. The host left detailed instructions of things to do in the island so make sure to check it out as it will save you research time. There is a parking lot underneath the building, a pool with jacuzzi, a popular poke shack and bbqs.
We will certainly come back!

The property was even bigger than expected and well appointed with all necessities and then some. The owner was communicative and super accomodating especially with last minute changes-additions. The place was immaculate-the only "downside" was that the jacuzzi didnt work at the pool but not a big deal as the ocean was right outside. Hope to get to return-would stay here again and again.

My wife, 3 children aged 10, 12, and 16 all had an amazing time at the Condo! The kitchen had everything we needed, the lanai was the perfect spot for a morning coffee and drinks in the evening, where the beautiful sunstes can sweep all your cares away. We had plenty of beach and water supplies to keep us entertained the whole time. The condo was close to the beach, town, grocery shopping, and the view couldn't have been better. We'll definitely be going back, and staying in the condo again someday. Thanks Mike for a great stay!

Our Grandmothers/Granddaughters vacation was spectacular and this property was especially comfortable as our last accommodation. The well-appointed rooms and totally stocked kitchen were much appreciated. It was exceptionally clean, bright and airy. It was great to have a washer/dryer to take care of laundry. Cool sea breezes flowed through the living room and the constant wave action rocked us to sleep. Relaxing on the lanai, we watched surfers, boats, parasailing flights, local birds and sea life which changed every day. We even saw the "Buck Moon" and the resulting high tide. This is the perfect location for local access to beaches, shops and restaurants and for touring the island to the National Volcano Park, Hilo and activities like Zip Lining. A dip in the pool was very pleasant and parking was secure and always available. Maintenance was efficient when we had one small request. The owner, Mike, was very attentive and helpful. We look forward to visiting again.

Location couldn't be more perfect and the unit itself is easily one of the best we've ever encountered. Extremely well stocked kitchen, very nice updates and every convenience included. This was a wonderful place for our family of four. The condo is right overlooking the tide pools of the rocky coast. The sound of the waves is magical. Easy to find, nice non-crowded pool and hot tub, good kitchen with everything you need. The only thing I was surprised to see was no AC (my fault for not reading all the other reviews closely), but it was not at all needed.

Everything was as nice as they advertise. Check in and out was easy. Mike was a great host. He called to see how everything was going just as we arrived. We had a small problem with the tv in the spare bedroom but just let him know and someone was there to check it out within a couple of hours. There was plenty of beach gear to use and beach towels. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. Had a great week on the island and picked a great place to stay. Will stay here again if we every make it back to the Big Island.

What an absolutely wonderful place! The views from the lanai were amazing and we could have spent our whole time there just watching the ocean and tide pools below. My kids enjoyed exploring those tide pools (we saw turtles, colorful fish, crabs!) and playing in the pocket sand beaches right there on the property. The pool was lovely and warm. The unit itself it well equipped, clean and truly perfect. The ocean breeze goes right through, no need for AC at all, but the fans also help. Kitchen was extremely well equipped and we enjoyed grilling out and eating dinner on the lanai. I would love to stay there again!

We absolutely loved this rental. It had everything we needed. I loved the sound of the waves from the lanai. The distance to town is just a short drive. The bathrooms were roomy. We were there for the Ironman World Championship. My son was a finisher. The space was perfect (king room for us, twins for my son and his wife, twins in living room for our grandchildren). Lovely lanai for viewing and photo shots. The kitchen is well supplied, two good bathrooms and towels. We loved the location. The only drawback for us was no AC. We were aware of that prior to going but didn't think the humidity would be as high. All in all, we really liked the place.

This condo was the perfect location for us. It isn't right in the middle of the tourist activity but is close enough to easily get to shopping, food, etc.. A perfect escape from the more hectic parts of town. And the view of the ocean is simply amazing. We spent every evening sitting watching the sunset which was such a relaxing way to end days full of snorkeling and hiking nearby. The host provided great information about activities, broken out by distance from the condo which was awesome. Parking is free and we never had an issue finding a spot. Overall, this was a dream location for us and we will definitely be back!!

To be honest, its not really a good place for 6 people. Its better for 4. NO A/C (I didn't see that on the listing - my bad). It has wonderful ocean noise at night, smaller place but good price for the week (at the time I booked - 1 year in advance). Back room gets quite warm if door is closed. need to leave all windows open to keep it cool at night in living and master. Great Lanai view of Sunsets. Pool convenient in middle is shaded and nice a warm. Owner wonderfully responsive and helpful from Out of state.

The highlight for us was the large balcony with a perfect ocean view. Any time spent in the condo was pretty much spent on the balcony. The property is also wonderfully stocked with all the beach going essentials you need to have a great trip (chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, snorkle gear!) I will search for this property again on my next visit to Kona.

Lovely place. Perfect for our family of four. Place was clean and the view from the lanai watching the sunset was spectacular. As noted, there is no AC and it does keep cool if you follow their directions but it also means everything stays a little damp and your hair will be always beach wavy! Nothing wrong with that as we were on vacation but I didn’t truly realize how much until we were there. It was hot enough so we had do keep all screen doors open and all fans on all the time.
Little pool there helped me with my kids attention as well! It was a lovely place to be for a few days.

This was a perfect spot for our family of 4 while on the Big Island. Having coffee on the lanai each morning while watching the surfers and the waves crashing was something we won't forget -- just paradise. Our boys loved turtle watching in the tide pool below the condo. Da Poke Shack, which is on property, is fantastic for lunch (not open for dinner). We really appreciated the beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards (although the best ones were broken), snorkel gear, and other beach items. The condo was clean and well appointed with everything we needed (except oddly, a spatula for scrambled eggs?). Thank you!

The condo seems old. The building by the sea is special. One can hear and watch the wave right outside the balcony. Without AC, the condo temperature can be uncomfortable despite the fans. There are bugs here and there sometime, and my friend was afraid of them. The bathrooms are not as clean as most 2-star hotel rooms. The shower curtain in one room had too many stains on it. Wished it was cleaner and it would be a much better value in our opinion.

Great experience! Would stay here again! I’m not sure it is possible to get a better view from your balcony in Kona! If you like the idea of falling asleep to loud crashing waves, this is the place for you! We enjoyed many mornings on the patio watching the surfers and waves. Fully stocked, had everything we needed (even more than expected). We appreciated that the owner truly cared about our experience, from sending detailed emails before check in to calling us to check on our stay. Parking was easy, nice pool area, and barbeques are great for grilling! Had all of the beach necessities! Tips for your stay: If you are coming to Kona for the first time you may want to consider shopping at the local Target. Clean store, easy to find things, felt their pricing was lower than other stores. We made a day trip to the volcano and ate lunch at the restaurant overlooking the volcano. Worth the trip, less than a 2 hour drive. I highly recommend the lava tubes too! We visited many great beaches and LOVED the island breeze luau!!! We will never forget our stay here!

My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here. You can sit on the lanai and watch the sun set every night. It never seems to get old. In the morning you can see surfers to your left, sea turtles in the tidepool below, and the waves crashing on the lava rocks. If it's hot you can let the ocean breezes flow all the way through the place. Inside, the place is fully equipped with just about anything you could need. In addition to the master suite, the bedroom at the other end has two twin beds and it appears the couch could be used as well. After dark, we were able to stream a program we got hooked on back home. We like to cook and only ate out once during our stay. We never wanted for a tool or a utensil. The parking on the first level is very convenient and you can take the stairs or elevator up the two levels to the unit.
Be sure to read the information in the binder that Mike left for you. It's informative and useful. I arrived needing to relax and thought "I don't have time to read that!" but the next day, I took a deep breath, read it, and I was glad I did. There's lots of good information about the condo and things to do on the island. It's clear that your host cares about you and he's quick to respond to any questions. Unlike many other listings, it's clear from the materials on VRBO that you're getting a place with a direct ocean view.

The place was amazing and Mike was a great host making it super easy. The place was clean and very well equipped leaving nothing to need. The parking and access was easy. The condo is right on the shore with tidepools right outside, where we were able to see a sea turtle, fish, crabs and two moray eels (who didn't seem to like each other). I’ll start by saying we were lucky enough to see turtles right out front of the condo, pretty amazing!
Location here is great and running into Kona for coffee, bars, dinner was no problem at all. Neighbors were quiet and respectful. Loved the beach amenities that came with the unit and the outdoor patio. Unit and building is dated which was hard to see in the photos but for having a full kitchen, multiple rooms and washer/dryer we were satisfied. Recommend using the pool for a dip! We didn’t until the very last day and regretted it once we spent time there.

The place was perfect and the view from the lanai looked like a postcard. We saw a pod of dolphins swim by while drinking out coffee on it. The location was perfect for us as it was a little closer to the snorkeling spots and right above Da Poke Shack. Communicating with the owner was easy and helpful. I’ll start off by saying that this condo has pretty much everything you will need. I really liked that about the place. It’s a cute setup and right by the ocean. When we arrived the fridge wasn’t clean so we had to wipe that out. Mike had called me later in the evening to make sure we got in ok. I missed the call but responded by message about the fridge. Never heard back. There’s also no AC. We are from an area that’s 70-75 all the time so the humidity can get to you sometimes when you can’t cool down. Or make it hard to sleep when it’s 80°. Cable tv also wasn’t working so we didn’t have that amenity in the evenings when we were trying to relax. We also had an extra guest charge and we are a family of five. Not sure where that came in when the condo ad states you can sleep six. Other than that, it was great to watch the sunsets and the turtles. There isn’t a great place to swim at the condo but there’s other beaches close by. Restaurants and grocery stores are close by. Lots of people out in the morning walking or jogging the roads was nice. The vibe was nice. Property is kept really clean on the outside. Parking is easy.

If you are looking for an ocean-front condo, close to everything, this is it! The condo is perfectly situated just south of town and close to the sandy beaches. The Poke Shack in the complex is the BEST in town and the long line of locals proves that. The condo is well-appointed and has beautiful granite counters. You also get everything you need for your beach days...chairs, cooler, snorkel stuff... you name it. We will definitely stay here again. The pictures perfectly represent the condo but that view, you need to see for yourself...unforgetable.

This was just the kind of place we were looking for. My wife and I and our two kids (12 and 9) had a great time. With the tide pools, breathtaking view, and the swimming pools there was enough to do on property. Close to restaurants and stores as needed. It was a perfect home base for us during our stay. My family stayed here for one night and we were taken away by the beautiful oceanfront views from the windows and large lanai of the property. It is stunning!!! We had a hard time leaving!
As for the property, Mike really has everything you would need and in good condition too! The renovated unit shows, it’s looks updated and was clean.
When I first arrived I had not been sent a lockbox code and I texted Mike and within 30 seconds he called me to give us the code. He also checked in 30 mins later to make sure everything was going well - great host!
All and all great stay! The only con of the unit is it does not have AC (though for our one night stay it wasn’t a problem and all the fans were sufficient), but if you intend to stay longer and are sensitive to heat or the stickiness that comes from being seaside, bear it in mind.

It was an amazing place! We loved it!
We can hear the waves, look the sunset, surfers, turtles, beach near by. Beautiful we enjoyed every moment.
