Seriously this place is right on the water. It was fun to wake up, open my eyes and see the ocean. We enjoyed watching surfers everyday. The amenities were great. Most comfortable beds, pillows and couch I’ve had at a vrbo. The only draw back is the lack of AC in the other room, but we knew that going in.

This unit is well cared for and in a beautiful location. The lanai is fabulous - the view is incredible! When the listing says "crashing waves" they are not kidding. You are right at water's edge looking down at the tidepools and hearing the waves.
The owners have thoughtfully provided all that you need for your stay - maps and guides, beach towels, umbrellas, and snorkel gear as well.
We would definitely book this unit again.

We spent an amazing Christmas holiday here. My mother lives in Kona and the property was just down the street from her condo. We were in close proximity to the downtown area and the view was simply amazing.
I would highly recommend this rental for large groups as it is in a good location and gives enough room for everyone to stretch out.

Spending time on the lanai will go down as one of my favorite lifetime highlights. There were humpback whales! Dolphins lept into the air! Fantastic sunsets! Waves lapping at the lava right below me!
The location was great for running and walking - nearby beaches were very accessible. There were some issues with fans and lights and screen doors, but that's life on the ocean. The microwave blew up the first night and a replacement was on the counter by noon the next day - really great communication.
If you're looking for the lanai of your dreams, where you can snack on papaya and star fruit while watching leaping dolphins and surfers in the waves. . .I don't know if it's possible to do better than this one. It was the best possible way we could have finished off our vacation - thank you!

We had a fabulous stay! 211 is right by the ocean, and we left the sliding door open whenever we were “home,” enjoying the peaceful sound of the waves breaking. It was close enough to town to have easy access to everything, but far enough that we weren’t overwhelmed by crowds. The beach at the property was fun for tide-pooling (not really a swimming beach), and there were always surfers in the waves just to the south of the property.
The laundry machines in the unit were extremely helpful, and the provided beach towels and snorkeling gear were great to have on hand.
We would definitely stay here again.

This may be the nicest vrbo I've ever stayed at. The inside of the condo had EVERYTHING. The beds were SO comfy, nice big tv and comfy couches, the bathrooms are beautiful (etched glass with designs on each) the best smelling soaps and shampoos provided in real containers, kitchen full of pots and pans and plates and utensils.. even had a full spice rack! The host left little welcome gifts like a can of macadamia nuts as well as chocolate covered nuts and potato chips, (which were all high quality and delicious) even had towels waiting for you on the chaises outside; but the view. The view was so spectacular, especially during sunset. This condo would be worth it even if the inside wasn't as nice because of the view. You are STEPS from the ocean and my fiancee and I loved checking out all the tide pools and seeing all the wildlife from crabs to aneneomes to stuff we couldn't even identify.
If we ever make it out to Kona again, I would make sure to stay here, it is just perfect.

We stayed 15 nights in this wonderful unit and could not have been happier with our choice!! From the moment you walk in and see that view from the lanai you can feel your body relaxing. The unit has everything you will ever need and then some for a wonderful stay. The kitchen is very well stocked and so were each bathroom. Be sure to look in bathroom cabinets because we found a few very useful items either left by owner or previous visitors. Like bandaids, neosporin and bactin! There was also some reef safe sunscreen (we left some of ours too) Loved the hard sided cooler, beach towels,beach chairs and umbrella. We took them on our adventures every day. The unit is very comfortable from the beds to the couches. Think we only used the indoor table for Thanksgiving because the table on the lanai was so great. Loved watching the surfers in the morning while eating breakfast. It's a quick drive into Kona and all the great eateries and a good base to start your daily adventures from. The owner was very responsive to all my emails before and during our stay. Will be back for sure!

The pictures and description of the Penthouse is spot-on! The view is amazing. We sat on the lanai every morning drinking our coffee and watching the surfers and waves. We ate breakfast and dinner on the lanai. It was definitely our favorite part of the place. The place including the kitchen was will stocked with anything you need, the beds were comfortable, and did I mention the views...so amazing. I was concerned about the guest room being warm but there was a ceiling fan and a rotating fan our daughter/boyfriend were comfortable and it was humid during the day/early evening. It was close to shopping and restaurants. Papa Kona restaurant is very good! We ate there 3 times including Thanksgiving! We hope to return soon! Thank you Holly for sharing your beautiful Penthouse!

Initially, everything looked great. But once you tried to use things, you found out there were issue…several. Kitchen light control was intermittent at best (had to use circuit breaker to turn off lights), sliding door to balcony had worn out roller so door was extremely hard to move (was sliding on frame), room lamp broken, WiFi signal very intermittent, no cable TV signal (tech replaced splitter, but this didn’t fix the problem permanently, next day-no signals on most channels again), and no switch for bed lights (had to unplug).

View was great, balcony was awesome, location is perfect. But the condo was DIRTY, incredibly dirty.
It was gross. Dead bugs and a ton of dirt inside the lamps where you have to reach in to turn them on. Didn't want to step on the floor in bare feet, it was so dirty. But the carpet in the bedroom was no better, it needed to be replaced years ago.
Knives all dull, toaster only half worked, no hot water at master bath sink, every surface not dirty was covered with tchotchkes EVERYWHERE. We had to collect all the plastic plants (non ever dusted) in one place, just so we'd have somewhere to place our stuff on surfaces.
No vacuum, just an electric broom (which answers a lot). Down bed pillows were bricks, just awful and gross.
Opened drawers and cabinets and just junk (or litter) would be in it. Light switches that didn't power on anything, overhead fans (kitchen, balcony) and lights (bar lights) that didn't work. One balcony screen door locked, but the other didn't (wasn't even keyed for a lock).
Owners seem nice via email and text, but wow... I would never, ever stay there again and would be embarrassed for anyone else to stay there. It was just pitiful.
I managed apts for decades. I would have been fired for leaving a unit-for-rent in that poor of a condition. It needs not just a deep, deep clean but better performance of people regularly cleaning it.
This Vrbo is why people are turning to using hotels again.

We stayed here for 11 days in Nov/Dec 2023. This is one of not the best stocked properties. There is toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent, spices, nice cookware…just bring yourself and do a little grocery shopping. SUPER clean, beds a comfortable. Money well spent! Right on the ocean. Master bed faces ocean with sliding doors. Will be repeat renters. ❤️☀️☀️

This property over-books a gorgeous view and has surfing nearby that you can see from the lanai. The property was super clean and well stocked. Beds were very very comfortable. The second bedroom had two twins and our son who is 6’4” said the bed was really comfortable. The only suggestion is that room has an older window that doesn’t shut well. So he wore ear plugs while sleeping. Otherwise he mentioned a lot of road noise during the night. We would definitely rent this again if we return to Kona. Cons: Where do I start? I have over 20 photos of dirty & poorly maintained items in this condo. We were very disappointed. The kitchen is poorly supplied. We found a glass with lipstick marks in the cupboard. We found no scissors. Blinds that were hung on one side only. Unusable.Very few outlets BUT WORSE: when we used the blender, it blew out the power out on half of the condo. This happened 2 nights until we decided to use the blender on the other side of the condo. There were many areas where something had been hung before, but no spackling of the holes had been done. AND We came home one evening & found the smoke alarms going off. We called the maintenance office &they told us basically to live with it until the morning, but it was beeping! About half an hour later, they came up & pulled the whole assembly down. We asked them to come early in the morning to repair it. But instead, they came while we were out which we had asked them NOT to do. There were laundry pods but, overly scented. Many VRBOs have enough coffee for your stay, not here. The furniture is typical rattan & hawaiian print fabric but in dire need of cleaning! The bar stools are too tall for the bar therefore they are unusable. Honestly, I could go on And as mentioned I have over 20 photos of the unclean & broken/not maintained items. If I could ask for a refund of part of our money I would. This was my first time with VRBO & Vacasa. Might be my last.

We loved our stay here and thought it a great value for a comfortable condo. The sunset view here is just unbeatable and our favorite of the 3 rentals we’d used. (Here, Volcano, & Ko Olina on Oahu). We stayed in a luxury unit on Oahu that cost more than double a night from this condo and we all commented on how much of a better deal this condo was. We had everything we needed and more. The only con was that the air conditioning is on a 4 hour timer and that was a bit annoying. I’d wake up warm, but would just get up and reset it each night. All the pros were so good that the air conditioning timer wasn’t enough to keep us from feeling as if this was still easily a 5 star stay. We saw lots of fish and eels in the tide pools. Da Poke Shack is right there and was delicious. Parking was plentiful and it was a short drive into Kona. My husband and I walked to town once but it was a bit of a hike there and back. Our first night there we were tired from traveling for almost 16 hours and we used Doordash to deliver groceries from Safeway. It was a quick and easy delivery to the condo. Each morning we sat on the lanai and watched a few surfers. We never used the pool but it looked clean and there were plenty of chairs. Check-in and out was easy. There were stairs and an elevator. We enjoyed our stay and definitely would recommend this condo to others. Actually, we already have told friends how much we enjoyed staying here.

The beach photos in the listing are from across the street and should be removed as it's misleading that this is a beach front property. The unit itself is a bit dated and was very stuffy. The building is behind another and receives little air flow. You're not allowed to turn the A/C down past 75 degrees because it will damage the unit. The shower curtain released a moldy smell whenever it was moved and you could see black mildew spots between it and the inner curtain. No elevator is on site so if you have heavy luggage be prepared to lug it up the stairs. The cleaning fee is almost as much as an additional night stay and they want you to clean and do all the bedding laundry before you leave. Why am I paying so much if I have to do the majority of the cleaning? I don't have a problem picking up after myself and leaving things the way I found them but it seemed like a bit much. Livable but wouldn't recommend.

Easy access to town and restaurants and a great place to relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing! Included all the beach toys too big or too heavy to pack - towels, boogey boards, snorkel equipment, etc. We had fun just outside the door - walking around the tide pools, enjoying the sunsets and watching turtles and surfers. The information in the room from the owner took us to some wonderful snorkeling spots! Awesome vacation!

Great location, easy 5 min drive from downtown Kona and quick access up to Holualoa for a wedding we attended. We will absolutely book this property again in the future - super clean, updated and the beach down below was perfect for an easy beach day. Really appreciated the use of chairs, coolers, umbrellas, etc. The pool at Kona Bali Kai leaves a bit to be desired and the exhaust from the AC unit on the patio makes the balcony for the unit super hot, but it’s worth it to have AC inside the unit :) a great stay and can’t wait to return!

Close to fun beaches, restaurants, able to take walks in the morning in the street walking lane, and watched sea turtles from our balcony! Such a fun and relaxing week. Clean, has plenty of beach towels, has ice, and elevator. Nice big bed in master and twin beds in front bedroom for two separate people, perfect for our family. We enjoyed the hot tub at the pool as well.

Overall a great trip. A perfect location with a wonderful view; literally right on the water! The pool was nice and parking was easy and abundant.
The second bedroom faces the street and the noise can be very loud. The carpets were old and the age definitely showed. While the master bedroom bed was comfortable, I think perhaps the cleaners could have done a slightly better job.

Mike’s communication is excellent. After booking, I received an email with all kinds of helpful information. Directions, restaurants, and activities were all included.
The condo was clean and exactly as described.
We spent most evenings on the lanai, watching sunsets and even saw the “green flash” on 3 of the 6 nights we stayed.
Only saw one turtle once but we watched one evening as a kayaker brought a 3’ blue fin tuna in. Now that is something you don’t see at home.
The bed is very comfortable and we slept very well with the waves drowning out much of the traffic noise.
The lighting the the bathroom could use some work as it is pretty dark in that room.
Despite paying a cleaning fee, you are asked to take out the trash and place towels in the washer and if time permits, put in the dryer.
But that would not stop us from renting again if we ever returned to the Big Island.

If you enjoy ocean waves, this is the place to stay. Outstanding view at waters edge. Very clean and well kept.
