This condo was the perfect place to stay on the big island! We booked other more expensive accommodations for part of our stay, and regretted not just staying here the whole time! The condo itself is wonderful with great AC and hot water (which is hard to find other places on the island) and you get beautiful sunset views each evening from the deck. The pools and lounge areas are incredible and the community members are so kind. We truly had the best honeymoon here!

Everything was perfect. The unit is exactly like the pictures. Location is great. Close to town but far enough away you don’t hear the hustle and bustle of town. Sitting on the lanai having breakfast looking out at the ocean was a dream. We took a video to watch mornings at home while having breakfast there.We only used the salt water pool right on the ocean edge. One could walk right into the water. WiFi was fantastic even while out on the beach area. We couldn’t have asked for more. The management company even called our first day to be sure everything was as expected. One day there was a slight issue with a toilet and they responded immediately. Can’t ask for more than that. Kitchen and entire condo was very well supplied. Planning to return hopefully next year!

We really liked the view, the cleanliness, the welcome package and ease of getting in and out. We were close to restaurants and lots of different beaches on either side. Brent left a fish guide so that we could identify the fish and eels that we saw after snorkeling. We came on a shoulder season but we were very impressed with how quiet it was and we were on a middle floor. It was just right for us!

The host was very amenable and allowed us to check in a few hours earlier due to an early flight from Maui. Location was 10 minutes to some of the best snorkeling in Kona and 10 minutes to a lot of nice restaurants. However, on more than one occasion we ordered takeout for breakfast or lunch and ate on the large balcony with a gorgeous ocean view.

Vacation for family of 4. Great location-short drive to shops, restaurants, but far enough away so the area was quiet and not congested. Walkable to the Ali'i Marketplace. Condo was well stocked, had everything we needed. The cooler and beach items helped with packing for day-trips. The saltwater pool was a highlight of the property. Beautiful views just steps from the condo. Host Mike responded to messages quickly, check-in/out went smoothly. Highly recommend.

The condo is beautiful - very clean and comfortable. It has a gated entrance to aide in security. The kitchen is well-stocked. There are two lawn chairs and umbrellas available as well as a small cooler in one of the kitchen cupboards. It is close to everything in the area. We recommend Huggos On-the-rocks for a nice sunset dinner. The property management met us at check-in to show us everything and make sure we got settled in okay. They even left an awesome welcome gift, including a fruit basket. I would highly recommend this property.

Really like the area, condo is older and very dated which was ok. The biggest inconvenience was the water was turned off on the entire complex at 9 am. We were getting ready in the morning and check out was at 11 am. Made a good trip end with alot of difficulty. Property manager should've have disclosed this prior to booking.

It was so relaxing and marvelous. The only thing that could’ve been a little bit clearer was what items were going to be furnished in the condo. We overpacked!’lol the saltwater pool that sits next to the oceanfront was just amazing. I took a life-size sugar skull floaty and just floated around in our off time while visiting the Big Island. My dear friend recommended Casa de Emdeko and I went to sleep each night listening to the waves which was the exact same thing that I woke up to. The tranquil of pleasant environment was exactly what we needed.I am 61 years old but I felt 21 the entire time! Thank you so much for the experience of a lifetime!

Complex and unit itself was older. There was gated parking which was good. Other parking was available. Nice to be on second floor & close to ocean (distance from elevator had 8 steps/16 stairs from another direction) Very nice ocean view from lanai which was very comfortable. Complex had small beach and 2 pools. Grill area was nicely landscaped. Check in worked fine. Appreciated welcome basket with coffee, cookies and candy. Nice to have air conditioning although temperature needed to stay at 75. Additional fans appreciated. Notebook provided had good information. Lots of instructions and additional notes for many things throughout unit. Succinct few pages on counter would be good like ones sent. Bathrooms updated but rest of rooms were dated particularly kitchen. Very basic kitchen alliances and items. Dishwasher did not fully dry dishes and limited dishtowels provided. Nice to have Brita water purifier. Internet was not consistent. Unable to use TV in second bedroom at all during stay. Would have been nice to have luggage racks for suitcases. Did have some coins to use for laundry. App was not easy and had to spend 20 to do 2 loads of laundry. Bedroom lighting dim. Good size dining room & Living room. Enjoyed hearing waves at night since we were so close to ocean.

Beautiful place to stay. Parking was a little hard. Small parking lot. Several spaces were used for other cars that had covers as if they were being stored there. We had to park outside the gated area because no spaces available at night. We stayed for 9 days. There was hot water issues 7 of the 9 days. However the owners were understanding and credited us a few days back.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at this property. The complex this unit is located in is beautiful and has two pools, a huge outdoor eating space, plenty of room to lounge by the pool or ocean, and 3 large grills available to use. Unit 336 was everything I was looking for in a trip to Hawaii. We had stunning views of the ocean from the living room and balcony, comfortable and clean bedrooms, and living area, a kitchen for making breakfast and dinner if you wanted, washing machine and dryer, and air conditioning. A lot of places in Kona didn't have A/C and I almost booked a place without it. If you're visiting in July or August, you definitely want a unit with A/C!.The host was responsive to all of our questions and there were tons of beach items available to use as well: beach chairs, pool noodles, cooler, snorkel gear, beach mats. We loved our time here and would love to stay again in the future.

The only reason we are down grading the property is due to the water issues. Intermittent water shut offs and no hot water for 3 days. We loved the property and hoped the water issues would resolve but unfortunately the entire complex was having issues and by the 3rd day we were desperately needing a hot shower. However the property was very nice, large kitchen with everything you would need, wonderful lanai, beautiful sunsets, nice bed and quiet. When we shared our frustration with the property manager they were more than understanding. We would definitely rent from Knutson Properties again just maybe not this complex.

This property is perfect! Although no direct beach access it has an amazing pool and sandy "beach" right on the ocean. There is a lovely lanai area with BBQs and tables near the saltwater pool. The condo itself was clean and well appointed in the kitchen as well as snorkeling and beach gear. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location is ideal as well

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING we needed to make our stay comfortable and inviting had been thought of and was available. The home clean and welcoming. Thank you for the generous “care Package” with its delicious coffee, macadamia nuts and treats. We were pleasantly surprised by this unit. There have been some updates that aren't reflected in the photos and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property is a beautiful ocean front property with two pools and a great beach area and cabana with grills. I've stayed at Casa de Emdeko once before and I prefer this unit as it's ground floor and has easy access to parking and you can walk right out the lanai to the pool. Since it's in the middle of the property it's just a short walk to the beach and salt water pool. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the Kona area. Mahalo for sharing your space with us!

We had an amazing stay at Casa Kona! The property is beautifully maintained, and the condo was a perfect fit for our family. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the upgraded bathrooms were a fantastic touch - modern and spotless. We especially loved spending our evenings on the lanai, relaxing with a glass of wine while taking in the stunning ocean view. The location is ideal - within walking distance to the local market and a nearby resort with a great restaurant and bar. The oceanfront pool was warm and very enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again!

Our condo at Casa de Emdeko was great! We really appreciated the air conditioning, the garden and partial ocean view, the man-made beach right on the ocean, the big table on the balcony, and more. We really wanted to stay somewhere that we could see the ocean and the sunsets without having to cross a street, and this was the perfect place. It was very clean and comfortable. Finding it and getting into the condo were super easy, although there were lots of different emails and texts from different companies that made finding information a little confusing at times. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice unit. We stayed in this complex 10 years ago 1 floor down and 1 unit back. Had an issue with the air conditioner in this unit but that was solved as soon as possible. The water was also cut off for part of a day but not the owners issue and was fine. We took our Grandson but would be perfect for two couples. We would stay here again.

What a find! The location of this condominium is superb. Within a short drive into Kona, coffee plantations, & southern beaches. The condominium grounds were well maintained with beautiful trees & shrubs. This is a gated small condominium unit that we assumed was built around the 60’s, which lends itself to a charm that you cannot find. And with a renovated unit, it’s the best of the old & new. At night, the place comes alive and residents congregate around the saltwater pool & gazebo & await a resident to blow the conch shell as the sunsets. Our kids awaited this every night. The permanent residents & guests were all extremely nice. The saltwater pool was larger than depicted in the photos and well maintained. We would stay here again simply for the beautiful views from the lanai and the many seating options. The condo is well maintained & clean. The kitchen is well stocked with smaller appliances & condiments. We found the large kitchen appliances to be a bit dated with the oven and stovetop tricky to operate. Completely not a big deal when compared to all of the strengths this listing has to offer. We would stay here again & have been recommending this listing to our friends interested in visiting The Big Island.

The property is gorgeous and the condo is perfect if you want a simple place to lay your head down at night. Close drive to pretty much everything you could want or need. The pools and beach on property are a nice convenience if the waters are rough. I enjoyed sitting out on the patio while reading or just watching the birds and lizards. It was really convenient being able to walk out the backdoor straight to the pools and/or beach. Having a door code rather than keeping track of a room key was a huge positive. Parking is not guaranteed right outside your room and you could have to park outside the gate if the lot is full. The kitchen had all the dishes we needed to make small meals. There were beach chairs and other small beach items in the hall closet we used when we went to Magic Sands. The condo was clean and updated.

We stayed in this condo for 2 weeks; we felt right at home. The remodeled bathroom is very nice, the space was good, and the lanai was amazing. You have a nice filtered view of the ocean, a swimming pool outside in the courtyard, and palm trees swaying everywhere. We had three in our party, and we had plenty of space. Communication with Knutson and Associates was easy; check-in and check-out were easy. As far as the condo goes, it has everything you need to feel like you're at home: pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and seasonings. The only recommendations I would have for the owner or the managing company are to replace the mattress on the couch, as it is very flimsy and hard for a 16-year-old boy to sleep on. Also, the air conditioning sweated so badly it dripped the entire two weeks we were there; we had to put bowls down for the condensation. We notified the management company, and that's all we could do. The two pools were great; the one by the ocean is a saltwater pool, and the one in the main garden is a freshwater pool. It was nice to wake up in the morning and swim in the saltwater pool and then go to the freshwater pool to rinse off. We were lucky enough to be in the saltwater pool when the waves would crash over into the pool. The owner has supplied many beach and adventure items in the house and in the storage outside the front door: snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, towels, mats, coolers—anything you would need for a good time is already there.

If you’re booking this condo, it’s for the view from the lanai (balcony). Being so close to the ocean meant we could hear and see the waves while enjoying our morning coffee — truly a highlight. The pool and lounge chairs right by the water were also fantastic. The shower was good and we never had an issue with temperature or water pressure. The beach chairs and umbrella were a nice bonus, too.
On the downside, the air conditioning never cooled the space below 73°F, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. The kitchen was equipped with basic tools, but you’ll want to bring your own seasonings and oils. It worked fine for simple meals, though using the oven heated up the entire condo so much that we ended up turning it off halfway through cooking and have a cold meal instead.
The mattress was quite firm and didn’t stay in place well; if you sit on the edge, the whole thing tends to tip up. The couch in the living room was also on the small side for two people — fine for short sits, but not the best for relaxing on a rainy day.
Lastly, I received several texts warning about bugs, which made me uneasy about the possibility of cockroaches and other pests in the unit. It definitely took us out of vacation mode.
Overall, for the price we expected some less than ideal conditions. If you book this spot, come for the view and the soothing ocean atmosphere, but be prepared for a few inconveniences along the way.
