The view was everything! Jill was a lovely host and great communicator. The unit was spacious and clean, with lovely new appliances in the well stocked kitchen. There is a coffee grinder coffeemaker as well as a Keurig. Appreciated the Brita in the fridge. The building itself is older and the proximity to the ocean creates a salty mist that causes corrosion, which explained some of the reviews. Overall, we thought it was clean and well kept given the climate. We didn’t have power for a good part of 1 day because of scheduled tree work which we didn’t know about until a couple days before we arrived and the saltwater pool was also closed because of high waves, so we had to stay flexible. But we LOVED our stay and felt very blessed to be there!!!

The location is great! Very close to lots of attractions and lots of restaurants. The apt complex is a hidden gem. It has 2 swimming pools (fresh water and salt water) and a small beach to watch sunset. The view of the ocean is great! Check in is very smooth. The apartment is one bed room with 1 queen bed and another queen size sofa bed in the living room. Enough space for my family of 4. The outside locker space has everything to enjoy beach. We enjoyed the stay and will stay again.

Great place, we really enjoyed staying here for 5 nights. Very accessible to the town, beaches etc. Parking was not an issue, worst case we parked outside the compound and walked for 2 mins. The pools were good, although the salt water pool was closed due to rough waves - minor disappointment but not in anyone's control. Very calm and nice flora in the place. Absolutely will stay here again.

This is our second time staying here, and we enjoyed it just as much. Close to Kona but quiet. The bed is comfy. The lanai with plants was really nice to sit out in the mornings. Two outdoor pools! One fresh and one salt water. You could watch the sunset from the saltwater pool, which was at the sea wall. So great views of ocean. The saltwater pool was so good didn't even try the fresh water one. Property is well maintained. Condo was light bright and had a good vibe. Grout needs a good cleaning in bathroom and kitchen. But rest of the kitchen and bath were in great condition. Only warning, if you have neuropathy in your feet, pebble bottom shower is not for you. Condo was well appointed with beach items to use. There was a laundry room available and inexpensive to use. I would stay here again!

This condo was the perfect place to have a small get together with friends and enjoy the ocean views. My friends and I had a lovely time together. We had dinner on the lanai, movie night and a delightful breakfast. The space isn’t huge but the view was spectacular and made the smaller space totally worth it.

The condo was well-equipped and had everything we needed. It is far enough out of Kona to be away from the noise but close enough to walk. This particular unit is close to the both pools. Communication with the host and property manager was outstanding!! Very responsive and even provided pointers on sights! I highly recommend staying here.

The apartment has wonderful views of the ocean. But it is a little dated. Finding parking can be tough. And most importantly the second bedroom is really small and has a sliding temporary door. Great for kids room but not enough if sharing between two couples.

Everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend this place and would not hesitate to stay here again. Had a problem getting into the condo but was quickly fixed. The location is great and the grounds were kept in very good condition. There are two pools one fresh water and one salt water near the ocean. Ate most of our meals on the lanai. A/C was great and worked well. Can’t say enough good things about this place but as you can tell we loved it.

When we checked in, the power to the unit was completely out. We were not informed about this until after we had already landed. We later learned from neighbors that the outage had already been ongoing for several days prior to our arrival.Because there was no power, there were no lights, air conditioning, or elevator access for the first several hours of our stay. We had to carry all of our luggage up to the third floor in extreme heat, which was extremely difficult and not what we expected when booking the property.A few days later, the water was also shut off for half the day and now the air conditioning has gone out and was still out of order when we checked out today. These repeated issues have had a major impact on our stay and overall experience.. We were also told that attempts had been made to contact us regarding these issues before arrival, but we never received any calls, messages, or notifications warning us about the condition of the property.We understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen, but the lack of communication and repeated disruptions during our stay have been very disappointing.

This condo is beyond amazing. The lanai is the best part. We enjoyed sitting out everyday and listening to the ocean. I staked claim of the daybed. It was the first place I went upon waking. Everything was clean and fully stocked. The property was very quiet. Parking was plenty and rarely did we have to park at the front of the property. We did go in the off season. The only complaint I have about the place was the small curtain in the queen size room. The light from outside shines into the room. Once you fall asleep it doesn't matter but getting to sleep for me took a bit because of the light. Bring a sleep mask and it won't be a problem. If we ever make it back to the Big Island I will be booking again. I absolutely loved it.

This is the condo that i certainly will rent again. Itnis clean, updated and the location is amazing. I am giving it a 4 star rating only because i feel they were very stingy when it came to the amount of items that are nessesary. I got 2 trash bags for 3 trash cans and a nine day stay, 1 roll of TP, 1 roll of papertowels and 4 dishwasher pods. I expect to buy groceries but not to restock a unit just to leave it. Other than that the kitchen is supplied with plenty of cooking utensils, dishes, pots and pans. Dont hesitate to rent this unit, just be prepared to buy essential supplies.

The condo was very clean and comfortable. I loved that the pool was just steps away from the back door. The kitchen was supplied with everything you need. We enjoyed our time here. We loved the evening walk down to the end of the property to watch the sun set.

Great location, close to stores, restaurants, beaches. You can watch the sunset every night at the sea wall by the pool area. Plenty of parking inside and outside of the security gate, Washing machines and dryers are located outside the unit and require quarters or you can download an app to pay. 1.50 a load. The condo complex is nice and quiet.

This is our third visit to this property and it is the best of all the places we have stayed in 50 years of visiting the islands. The accommodations are excellent and the view from the Lanai is wonderful. Everything is upgraded in the condo and our hosts Dave and Erica have been excellent. We will be back next year

Good location, close to town. Property is nice for a home base that's more reasonable than some other properties that would be considered more on the luxury side, but the grounds are well maintained and the place well-stocked, so no complaints (except maybe no AC in the bedroom and a very loud fan ticking :-) Overall, really enjoyed our stay and had good communication with the host.

We enjoyed the visit. The building is quiet and though it is an older property, it felt very comfortable, clean and safe. The owner left lots of instructions, and we loved having a washer and dryer. There were snorkelling equipment we could use which was great. The location is good; easy to get to the center of Kona and to the beaches.

Overall we had a great stay at Casa De Emdeko. We knew going in that we were paying for the view. The house met our needs, but could use some maintenance/updating in general. Tvs were very old, duct tape over outlets, outdated decor and furniture, etc. Overall, aside from aesthetics, no major complaints. The grounds were very well kept with beautiful landscaping and the view from the lanai is 5 stars.

This was our first time in Hawaii and this place was perfect. Everything we needed was already here. Fresh towels, beach towels, chairs, you name it. The view was so beautiful. Every morning sitting on the deck watching the ocean with our coffee and listening to the birds was a blessing.

First, let me just say that the online photos don’t even do justice to how beautiful this rental is. The lanai is everything! We had breakfast on it every morning and spent most of our time watching outriggers sail by and we even spotted a few dolphins! What an experience! The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything you could possibly need. The owner’s communication was thorough and prompt. Would love to stay here again!
