They always answer emails, phone calls and address/resolve any issues promptly.Unit #213 was outstanding with an amazing view from a large lanai that was almost over the ocean. The condo was very nicely furnished and equipped with just about everything needed for a most pleasant stay....we spent most of our time on the lanai enjoying the spectacular sunsets and listening to the waves crashing against the lava rocks.The condo is within walking distance to shops and restaurants and we will definitely stay here again on future trips.

It's a nIce area and we do love it there. The condo is starting to show it's age. For the high/increased cost of rent, improvements should be made:damaged moldings around front door and under windows fixed, walls & under furniture cleaned, sheets should be newer and thicker, new pillows, sliding screen should actually slide, coffee pot base very corroded, a few more area rugs would be nice by bed and shower, and the A/C seemed over-taxed or weak.I know the cleaning folks need time to come in, but paying a full day for a unit you can't get into until 4pm and must leave by 10:am seems reason for a reduced charge. Also, if a unit does not have room for it's own washer/dryer, then the ones provided down the hall should be free (and upgraded to more modern machines). Thank you for your time.

Nice place. When we arrived we were told the A/C was not working but would be repaired the next day. The next day we received an email saying the a/c was still out. No communication after that on our 5 day stay. The views are great. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

Condo was a little outdated - appliances and furniture - but overall clean and comfortable, and the location could not be beat!Condo was very clean and well appointed - plenty of towels and blankets, snorkel gear, tote bags, coolers, chairs, etc. view is amazing, many cruise ships all week long - but be prepared for sea-spray! Even on fourth floor, our balcony was coated in salt and wet with sea-spray most days! Crashing waves really made it hard for anything to dry out there.

The view, every morning, afternoon and evening (including an incredible sunset everyday!) made our stay very memorable. The apartment is very confortable, very clean, and beautifully decorated. Kitchen is fully equipped and cabinet filled with essentials (S&P, oil, spices etc) to prepare your next meal with a beautiful ocean view. Perfect for our getaway and conveniently located near great restaurants and stores… we already miss the sound of the waves but we will be back one day!

I love the condo! Great location and price! On Christmas morning my hair dryer blew a fuse while I was cooking breakfast. I text and called management within minutes I received a text and the problem was resolved and my breakfast was done in time for my son’s arrival. Great service!

Everything about this condo was great. The lanai is right on the ocean with waves crashing below you. The location is a few minutes walk from some great restaurants (Hugo’s, on the rocks, Fosters Kitchen) but away from the busier and more touristy north end of town. There is a beautiful tennis center across the street where you can rent a court for 15. The kitchen is well stocked so we were able to cook a couple of meals, and the hosts left some delicious local goodies for us. We would definitely stay again whe we are back in Kona.

Staying here was great for the location. The unit is literally above the ocean, providing a gorgeous sunset view and the best natural white noise to sleep with. Very close, but not directly in the heart of the action of town. Easy walking around to shopping, dining, kayaking and snorkelling. If we get back to the area, we would likely stay in the same building.

This wrapped deck has an expansive vista of the ocean with breakers right below you. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and soaking in the ocean’s beauty.The reservation staff was exceptional and leaned over backwards to help me out when I made an egregious error with my online reservation. Whenever I'm heading back to Kona, I prefer this unit if its available. It sits almost directly over the water and with a wrap around lanai it offers stunning views. A few years ago both rooms were completely repainted and refurnished. More recently, the kitchen was completely redone with new appliances and cabinetry. It's a small point but the unit's assigned parking space on the ground floor is next to the complex's only elevator, so lugging suitcases and shopping bags up to the top floor is easy. The rental agents, Tainya and Tracy, are on site, friendly and helpful.

The kitchen had all the necessary cooking utensils, as
well as many basic condiments for cooking. Enjoyed

The condo location was very good. We have stayed in the complex numerous times for that reason. The unit itself was very dated and needs a complete remodel and update. The guests that were in the unit above us were very loud and stomping on the floor at all hours that made our time in the unit very uncomfortable.

I've stayed in this unit in the past as it is cozy, convenient and quiet. But on my most recent visit I found that it has gone through a complete renovation with a new tile bathroom, new kitchen with quartz countertops new appliances and new cabinetry. The lanai has been upgraded as well which makes for great morning cups of coffee and sunset cocktails. Its a small point but the assigned parking spot is directly under the unit which makes lugging suitcases and shopping bags easy. The rental agents, Taina and Tracy, are on site and helpful and very committed to insuring their guests have a worry free visit.

When we arrived, there had been a leak in the ceiling from a clogged AC unit that required a repair along with an humidifier that ran for a few days. The unit smelled very musty and the manager did the best they could. It was an unfortunate situation so no blame on them. The best thing was the view and corner unit. Outstanding! It was very clean with good appliances and a well appointed kitchen. Great shower pressure! Great location! It's is just a tad dated but again, very clean. Onsite parking included. I would stay here again.

We loved our stay here! The view on the balcony was our favorite part and we loved being able to easily walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. There isn’t much sandy, swim able beach on this part of Kona, so if that’s what you’re looking for I’d look elsewhere. But there is a nice little beach within walking distance that is great to lay out and get your feet wet. The pool is also a great option right next to the ocean!

Mattress topper is not good. Sheets constantly pulled up, topper travels. Furnishings and decor in bedroom and living room are dated. Shower is open concept and hard to keep water from splashing out onto floor.

I recently stayed at Hale Kona Kai with my husband and wanted to share our experience to prevent future renters from encountering what we did and prompt changes. We encountered a serious issue with bed bugs and ended up with bites all over our arms and legs. The rental company continues to deny the incident and told us we had an allergic reaction action, ultimately forcing us to go to our doctor once we arrived home only to have our doctor confirm we were both infested with bed bugs. This can be backed up with pictures of the bites on our bodies. Not only did we have to spend our last days on our vacation inspecting the couch, bed and washing all of our clothes, we were forced to book additional accommodations not knowing whether we would be spreading bed bugs in the process. Since our return home, we spent over a week washing and bagging clothing, steaming luggage, contacting our doctor(s), lawyers and trying to determine how we were allowed to stay in such unhygienic accommodations. The rental company/hosts continue to deny the bed bug nightmare we encountered. Unfortunately, after staying at Hale Kona Kai for 6+ years, we will never stay there again given the blatant disregard for hygiene and renter safety and will continue to pursue legal action as a result of our experience.
