Great stay! Comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning, and a well-equipped kitchen. The best part of the entire condo is the balcony and the ocean view. I was surprised that it was very quiet, considering there are people above and on each side—that was a huge plus! Parking was also great.

Condo facing the beach and ocean. Got to see turtles outside my window. Very clean with all the things needed. Including floaties and beach towels. Salt water pool was great....big and deep enough to swim in. Management firm was great to work with. Very close to great restaraunts and bars. Very laid back place that we really enjoyed!!

Had a wonderful stay at this awesome condo with the perfect ocean view. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants along Ali’i Dr. Condo was well stocked and the bed was so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast on the lanai every morning was fabulous. AC made sleeping at night cool and comfortable. Only concern was how easily a burner could be turned on when leaning against the stove to make coffee, reach across the counter, etc. Happened several times during our stay.

Could have been cleaner… white socks became dirty walking across living room floor. Items in kitchen such as knives holder has not been cleaned in sometime. The lighting in living room insufficient for reading, in the bathroom lighting insufficient for using cosmetics. AC doesn’t distribute air equally between rooms…bedroom cold and living room warm. Parking space along concrete wall difficult to use when space along side and behind were occupied. We were able to use a different space that was vacant. We loved the ocean view and location. Confusing to have two lock boxes. There should be a dead bolt on the door for security. One small bar of soap and two rolls of toilet paper was insufficient… we purchased additional.

Great little condo with incredible ocean view! Location is perfect. There are three ABC stores and plenty of places to eat within a few minutes walking distance. There is also a costco right by the airport if you need to stock up though.

Location was great. Overall cleanliness great. The unit needs some updating. Replace the old carpet with wood or vinyl flooring. Replace the old/worn/dirty cushions on couch and indoor chair. The outdoor furniture was better with no cushions so get rid of those (they were ripped anyway). The working air conditioning was wonderful. The balcony and view was amazing. The bed was very comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at the Tipsy Turtle! This was our first time visiting the Big Island and this condo was perfect! It’s in a great location to drive to other areas of the island, and a short walk into town for dinner and shopping. The condo had everything we needed and more. The hosts left us a welcome gift with water, snacks, coffee and fruit. They even left quarters and soap for a load of laundry. All of which we thought was very thoughtful. The view from the lanai was perfect for morning coffee and cocktails in the evening. Being able to see fish from the lanai and hearing the waves while falling asleep was awesome. We visited Volcanoes National Park, went snorkeling, spent time at the beach, kayaked in the ocean and went for a night snorkel with Manta Rays. Coming back to this condo after our adventures left us feeling relaxed and happy. Thank you!

This was our first time staying in room 405. We enjoyed our stay and the view was amazing. Would I return, yes, would I recommend this to friends, yes.
My only concerns were: The shower head was inadequate for washing hair. Not enough volume. A water filter for the unit would be awesome and connecting the ice maker to the fridge as well. The smoke alarm went off once for no reason, we disconnected it and reconnected it and then no problem.

We loved seeing and hearing the ocean waves from our windows and deck! This is a top-floor end unit and we never heard any neighbors or cars. Kitchen and bathroom were generously stocked with essentials and amenities, and everything was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

we chose this place due to the proximity of things to do in town. It was an easy walk for us to go to dinner or go shopping. The room was clean. There were plenty of towels and beach towels. Check-in was easy and we arrived in the middle of the night.

This was our 4th stay at Hale Kona Kai but our first stay in this unit and it was by far our favorite! They thought of every thing you could possibly need to have available. They even left fresh fruit, coffee, candy and change for the laundry room if needed. The decor is so fun and the balcony was our favorite place to hang out and watch the sunset. The bed was comfortable and the A/C and celing fans kept the place nice and cool. We will be back for sure!

Condo was perched above the ocean with spectacular views. Clean and comfortable. Walkable to Kailua shops and restaurants. The property managers went above and beyond in taking care of us when the unit we originally rented was damaged by the heavy rains. They moved us to a lovely unit. When the TV malfunctioned they replaced it quickly. The kitchen was well stocked but could use new skillets and a few more wine glasses. Would definitely stay here again. The location was 10/10! Ocean views with the sunset were phenomenal. Walking distance to all the restaurants and coffee shops you could need. The room was a great size for the two of us. The shower could definitely use some cleaning/updating. For example, I wouldn’t put my kids in the bath tub. Everything else was great.

From the moment I walked in the door, I knew it was going to be a fantastic week. Expansive views of the ocean from every window. The condo had all the amenities one would hope for while on vacation. I slept on the pull out bed and can honestly say, nothing about it felt like a pull out mattress. With such a small amount of units, we had the pool pretty much to ourselves the entire time. A short walk to town allowed us go for a quick bite to eat or a relaxing cup of coffee. I spent a good amount of time on the lanai. It provides a gorgeous view with those Hawaii Ocean breezes. Cannot wait to go back.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo and would highly recommend it.The views from the balcony and bedroom were absolutely fabulous—we started each morning with mimosas, watching and listening to the waves, which was such a peaceful way to begin the day.The location was excellent, within walking distance to restaurants, cafés, and souvenir shops. We also rented a car to explore the island, and having a dedicated parking spot included (without extra resort-style fees) was a huge bonus.The condo was well equipped with thoughtful extras like a full-size cooler, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, and an umbrella, which made beach days easy and enjoyable. The A/C worked great, and everything felt comfortable and well maintained.We also appreciated the clear communication, including detailed check-in instructions and a thoughtful follow-up message to ensure everything was going well.Lastly, the 70’s Hawaiian décor is exactly as shown in the photos—we expected it and actually loved the charm it added.Overall, a fantastic stay—we would definitely return!
