We very much enjoyed staying here. Location is great, can walk to everything in Kona. Beautiful view from both the living room and bedroom. Condo is right on the ocean, can watch the sunset from the balcony. Kitchen is well supplied with everything you need to cook with.

We had an amazing stay. The condo was exactly as listed. Cleanliness is very important to me- it was very clean. We do sanitizing anyway. The Kitchen was well stocked. The king bed was very comfy. Nice bathroom/shower with lots of hot water! Everything you want to visit the beach. Even a fishing rod!! A Couple blocks from Shops, nightlife and free trolley. Very walkable and safe. Condo has a Saltwater pool, tables, umbrellas and chairs/loungers. The best thing- the condo balcony is almost over the ocean. Right in front of you You can see fish and other Marine life. Really enjoyed the stay.

My wife and I came to Kona for her to compete in the Ironman World Championships. The condo was perfectly located close to town and right on the race course. We loved falling asleep to the crashing waves. It was a perfect place for us to rest up after enjoying our days out on the beach. I would highly recommend it for any couple looking to get away!

Definitely would stay again. Couch pulls out to bed. Had everything needed in the condo. Only thing it didn't have was a cooler. AC is great. Second floor, but has an elevator. Shower was awesome!

First, I want to say that this condo has the most wonderful view from the lanai and bedroom. We spent lots of time on the lanai watching the waves and spotting the yellow tangs in the water. Although this is an older building, the condo was clean and well-appointed. My only complaint would be that the central air-conditioning wasn't working. I am pretty sure this was known by the property management company, as there was a free-standing air-conditioning unit in the bedroom. This wasn't a problem for us, as the bedroom stayed nice and cool. We kept the fans going in the main living area and the door to the lanai open most of the time. This kept that area cool enough for us, but the outdoor temp was only about 75. If it were to be hotter outside, the condo would likely be toasty. I think it would be appropriate for the property management company to let the renters know ahead of time if the AC isn't working. Many of us specifically look for units that have central AC because that is an important feature for comfort in hot weather.

Nice, quiet building, convenient to restaurants, shopping, and access to highways to get everywhere on the island. Beautiful view of the ocean. Perfect size for 2 people. The condo could use some updating, but it's in good condition. Tracy was quick to respond to any communication. I would suggest that they provide more than 4-5 wash cloths for 2 people for a 9 day stay. The only thing we really didn't like was that the central AC wasn't working while we were there. They let us know it had broken, but it was after the cancellation period, so we were kinda stuck. They had an AC unit in the bedroom, but it had to be very cold in the bedroom to even start to cool off the rest of the place. So that was frustrating. I would consider staying here again, but I would look around a little first, possibly for a newer building.

First, I will tell you the positives. The view from the lanai is absolutely fabulous. And the shower was nice. Done with the positives. The air conditioning was broken. When I signed my contract, it had advertised that it was air-conditioned. We did have a room air conditioner in the bedroom, but that was all. The condo was not what we expected. The TV did not work. In fact, it turned on in the middle of the night and woke up my husband. But we could not get service all week. The condo is very outdated. You could tell by the front door , that was shabbily worn down. The furniture on the lanai was falling apart. Even the garbage can in the kitchen was broken! The bedding and sheets were of a very poor quality. However, the mattress was nice. I am just being very honest. This is not what we paid for. The lanai is a mess!! The table is falling apart at the bottom of the design fabric. What was originally a”skirt” round the glass top is now a piece of cheap rope hanging down! Two of the chairs have arms which give way when I sat down or got up! The glass top is very much in need of a good cleaning. The screen door has holes in it and salt has worn down the exterior! I do not complain very much or write negative reviews. In fact, this is the first negative review I’ve ever given a verbal property. I just don’t want people to be misled. OK cement.

A great property on the ocean in a excellent location. Quiet and peaceful with a saltwater pool. All the amenities for a worry free restful retreat. Convenient walking distance to shops and restaurants. We had an enjoyable walk for are daily exercise each day. The location is one of the best in Kona, you will love it.

Enjoyed unit 205 at hale kona kai. Clean comfortable and well stocked and kept. Obvious owned by owners who care and invest in their condo unlike other condos in this complex. Ive rented from several entities who manage at hale lona kai and this company seems to keep better care of the units than others. I also appreciated the company's booking site, which saved me the 500 dollar vrbo extra charge. The welcome gifts were also nice and not something I've received from other companies who manage this condo complex. Great stay, i will be back.

Being that close to the ocean and centrally located to town was definitely a huge benefit.
Though it’s an older building they have done a nice job updating this unit. There are a few things that are showing signs of the salty air affecting it (totally normal), and the mattress could be updated, but overall I would totally stay there again.

Our stay on the big island of Hawaii was great. We found the property to be very nice. Great view from our room. Very nice pool located next to the ocean. Easy walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping in Kailua Kona.

I have stayed in Kona multiple times, and this is a great little unit if there is 2 of you. The views are amazing, and the bed is comfortable. Nice TV in living room. Updated shower that's very nice. The unit has all the necessary things to make a comfortable stay. The furniture isn't the most comfortable, but who goes to Kona to sit around! The walk way was was torn up when we arrived but the contractor didnt make any noise. I would buy this unit if I could!

It was fully disclosed that the building is having issues with their system and that a portable would be provided. All very accurate. We just run a bit hot so the one unit was great for the bedroom but the rest of the place was very warm. Otherwise, satisfied with our stay.

The unit was clean and well stocked. It was very small though, perfect for two people - specially if you were going to be out seeing the sights (and you get along well - lol)! I emailed Tracy and got a fairly prompt response. They were very accommodating to my request for early check in.
Downside…there’s no laundry in the unit, it is pretty small, there’s no jacuzzi or hot tub. I can deal with that!! I’d definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved the location. The A/C broke building-wide but we were notified in advance and were offered a discount if it was still broken when we checked in. It was and the refund came immediately! I really appreciated this as I have heard about challenges with other rental Apps. They also installed a portable unit in the bedroom (thank you!). Our early arrival proved a bit confusing, but everything worked out just fine. Condo could use a refresh and a deeper clean. Bed was bouncy and TV in bedroom wouldn't work (remote batteries maybe or previous guest pushed buttons they shouldn't have). Overall a fantastic stay! Thank you!!!

Stayed here for a short holiday from the mainland. Wanted to place as close to the ocean as possible and we got it! You could literally toss a tennis ball from our balcony right into the ocean (of course we did not). Breakfast every morning on the balcony watching the tide come in was so perfect!
Condo is within walking distance to all kinds of restaurants, bars, shopping, you name it. It is except with everything you will need from classes and plates to starter items such as dishwasher detergent and paper towels. They also have a soft sided cooler right now Oceanside picnics you’re dreaming of. I would stay here again and again.

This condo was within walking distance to the old Kona downtown. Was quiet and peaceful with only the waves hitting up against the rocks as the only sound. Was a nice enough condo but could have been a little cleaner, looked like it hadn't been vacuumed very well. All in all a lovely spot to spend a week getting out of the NW rain!

My husband’s only request was we be as close to the ocean as possible and this fit the bill! Everything we needed was within walking distance…restaurants, the Farmer’s Market and the beach. We were lucky and caught several sea turtles lounging out on the rocks, dolphin pods swimming by and even whales spouting out in the water! The unit is fully equipped and has beach towels, sand toys, chairs and umbrellas. We will definitely stay here again!

When we first drove up and walked up the stairs I thought I had made a mistake. But upon opening the door and walking in I noticed it was clean and well taken care of. Nice place right on the ocean. I have to say it was the little things I appreciated. For example having beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, tin foil and cling wrap available made our stay nicer. A lovely lady even made a special trip (after she left for home) to our unit to drop off some needed items. Very much appreciated!! Not a fancy place but sitting on our lani and seeing the waves roll in was a beautiful sight. Close enough to walk into town to go out for dinner etc.

What a beautifully decorated condo and fabulous location. We loved watching and listening to the waves crashing right under the lanai. Everything was perfect. Just the right size for the two of us to spend a romantic break together. Close enough to town to walk to shop or get something to eat, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Also really liked having a marked parking place with no hassle parking. You will love this place!!!

Unit 205 is beautifully decorated with new paint, furniture and updated shower. The lanai furniture is the most comfortable we have ever used at HKK. Kitchen cupboards are clean; the dishes are delightful; but there are no storage containers. On the down side, there is no central air conditioning and the bedroom unit is really noisy. Books are musty. Cooking gets really very hot in the late afternoon. The second problem for us is that there is no indoor dinner table and no light on the lanai. In January, sunset is early; dark comes quickly, so eating outside is not favorble at night. For these two reasons we would probably choose a different unit. The management is efficient and eager to help. An on site office person would be a plus. HKK is a great place overall in a fabulous location.

We chose this condo based on the location and it did not disappoint. Tucked in on the coastline between the Royal Kona Resort and the Kona Reef, the lanai was essentially over the ocean and we were steps from downtown. The unit had great beach towels, chairs and boogie boards in addition to an extremely well appointed kitchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The condo is centrally located to everything in Kona, nicely equipped and is perfect to watch the dolphins and sunset. Easy walk or drive to town and hosts were very responsive and made everything easy. We would definitely return.

The condo and location was perfect for my wife and I. We spent a week there and loved the sunset views and the accommodations. It was furnished in sort of a Tommy Bahama motif and there is enough space for the two of us. We did not do much cooking other than a simple breakfast, but I suppose you could. We preferred to walk the short 5 minutes to all the various eateries that Kailua-Kona had to offer. There is also an assigned parking spot which was nice. The property manager, Tracy from Kona Now was very helpful and was open to a last minute booking (6 hrs beforehand), as we wanted to upgrade from our previous location. All in all, I am happy to recommend Hale Kona Kai #205 and hope to return next year.

If you want to sit on your lanai (balcony) and watch the ocean waves come crashing in on the rocks right below your unit, look no further. This unit is perfect along with the gorgeous sunsets every night. The unit is well-maintained with a new walk in shower bathroom, a king sized bed with a ocean view from the bedroom as well and a queen size pull out sofa in the living room. The unit does have a full equipped kitchen so you don't have to eat out each night but if you want too, there is some great restaurants in walking distance. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

We loved this cozy little cottage. It was great to sit out on the porch every night to play cards or read right on the water. Everyone around us was quiet and pleasant. Will definitely be returning in the future and recommending it to others.
