The location was great! Loved that the ocean side pool and garden pool were steps from the lanai door. We loved sitting out on the lanai in the mornings drinking coffee and listening to the waves crash on the shore. Only one downfall (not the owners fault) the ceiling/floors are thin and apparently we had a family with either young kids or heavy walkers above us. We were woken up everyday with someone running across the whole floor above us. Otherwise we had a GREAT week

Great location, directly on the oceanfront. The complex is a bit dated, but the unit was remodeled and in decent condition. Beds were very comfortable. Lots of towels and a good amount of beach chairs and toys. The parking situation isn't great. There are 3 or 4 spots directly next to the unit but were never available our entire stay. In fact, we were never able to park inside the gates at any point during our stay. We had to park out in the liquor store parking lot. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.Communication was bad. Both the microwave and oven were not working from day 1. We received a text from the management company asking us how our first day was, I responded by informing them the ovens were broken. No response. On the final day of our vacation, they told us they would send somebody over to repair. Obviously too late to help us but hopefully the next guests enjoyed the microwave popcorn we left behind!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ron’s condo at Casa de Emdeko. The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our trip. The complex was lovely with a perfect laid back vibe. The location was centrally located and had easy access to stores, restaurants, beaches, etc. We really enjoyed grilling by the oceanfront most nights and watching the sunset. We are sad to leave but will definitely be back!

Very nice accommodations, really everything you need but a teapot. Beautiful remodel, Lots of everything. Check the supplies before you head to the store. Plenty of nice large towels and lots of beach towels that wrap all around you. I would love a nice screen door so I could see the left side of the water and enjoy the breeze an open door would provide, but we are on the ocean so probably would rust. The only thing I would mention is this unit is on the ocean end and the lanai is amazing and the furniture is super well made and comfy but the way Casa is general is designed, it steps down 4-5 steps with every section of the buildings, so although there is an elevator only the units near the street side are actually wheelchair friendly. I would rent this unit again in a heartbeat! Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home! Also, found the Cart in the master closet as we were checking out! You will want to use that for bringing your initial groceries in.

The condo was beautiful and well stocked. The washer/dryer were fantastic for cleaning all our beach towels/clothes. The linens were all high quality and the extra beach towels were appreciated!We loved the "lanai lounge bed" and enjoyed the other outdoor seating as well.This was our 3rd stay at Casa, but this was our favorite unit by far!

This unit is always clean and welcoming. The host provides thorough instructions. Being on ground level is oerfect for us as seniors. A/C works great too. Casa de emdeko needs to work on their entry gates and oedestrian gate to parking lot.

This condo exceeded our expectations. I was initially worried about getting groceries nearby without having to drive, but that turned out to be a non-issue. There’s a deli market just a 2-minute walk from the condo with milk, eggs, cereal, Bisquick pancake mix, maple syrup —everything our kids love for breakfast. There’s also a great coffee shop called Berry Bird about a 5-minute walk southeast toward Ali’s Drive, offering an excellent selection of coffee drinks. Just two more minutes past that is a small farmers market next to Living Stone Church, with a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, freshly baked bread, cinnamon rolls (they sell out fast!), and cookies. Lastly, the condo is actually much closer to the ocean than it appears in the pictures, which was a wonderful surprise.

It's the perfect size for 2-3 people.The room is very clean, and the kitchen is well-equipped, so cooking is no problem at all.There's a pool that feels like it connects to the ocean, and you can see the sea from the room's balcony.The owner responded quickly and was very kind.There's a deli right next door, which is super convenient.This is a place I'd definitely stay again on my next trip to Hawaii Island.

Dryer doesn’t dry well. A/c inadequate. Water sometimes near toilet. Think coming from locked closet. Place was adequate, but not nearly as modern as appeared in pictures. Felt misleading. Suited its purposes. Upstairs neighbors noisy, sounds like moving furniture at 10:30 at night, multiple nights.

2nd Stay & Here to Stay!We just got done staying here again for 8/9 days, and we are always sad to leave. My husband and I joke around that we could buy this unit (it feels like home!) someday — perhaps! We feel very comfortable in this condo. Temperature wise, we were always feeling nice and cool from the hot sun. Everything is updated & simple, the cute décor feels super tropical & relaxing, and the unit is safe & quiet. We love the pools, grills, and other amenities. The fancy shower in this condo is our favorite! Staying here with a toddler is very easy and enjoyable as well. I love that the kitchen is fully stocked with helpful dishes and appliances. We love the closeness to town, and the peek-a-boo view of the ocean from the lanai. Knuston & Associates (property managers) are also very nice about accommodating requests/complaints. Very, very nice place to stay!The only thing I'd like to see in general is assigned parking for Casa De Emdeko guests and residents, but maybe that will happen someday!

This unit is amazing! The wrap around deck and huge living room make it feel extremely spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed and access to the complex and unit was smooth. The waves crashing could be heard all day and night and it was the best view for the sunset! We would absolutely rent this place again :)

We enjoyed our stay at Casa de Emdeko. The saltwater pool and outdoor spaces were spectacular. Good views of the ocean and sunset, including bowing the pū (Hawaiian conch shell) at sunset. The unit provided a great home base to explore Kona and the island. There were some areas of the unit that needed repair/maintenance, but they didn't severely impact our trip. The host was highly responsive and helpful

Before you book…This corner unit, with its wrap-around lanai, offers truly stunning views—crashing waves, incredible sunsets, the works.However, the overall condition of the unit is in serious need of a complete renovation. A deep, thorough cleaning would help, but the issues go far beyond that. We noticed dry rot, chipped paint, sticky kitchen cabinets, dishes in the cupboards that hadn’t been fully washed, and floors that were dirty enough that we didn’t feel comfortable walking barefoot.A major concern was the moths—not just one or two, I killed at least fourty ( no exaggeration ), appearing in both the kitchen and bedrooms. Some even flew out of the kitchen cabinets. Moth larvae can damage clothing and other items, so this is definitely something to take seriously.The master bathroom vanity light bar was coated with fuzz and had bugs stuck to it, clearly untouched for years.When we contacted the local owners representative regarding a few of these issues, the response we received was, “Well, that’s the tropics.” Unfortunately, that’s not an acceptable explanation. At the very least, regular pest control is needed.Note: Property features say there is a hot tub - there is no hot tub on the property.All in all - we enjoyed our time on the Big Island and will return. We just wouldn’t book B238 unless major changes were made. Take care of your unit, give it some Love - it has so much potential!

The location was good. The apartment was good and well stocked with towels & kitchen items although we did not use the pool or onsite facilities. We felt like we did not really have use of the lanai due to the birds making a mess or wanting any food one may have out there. Maybe some type of deterrent would help such as a plastic owl or such. It just didn't feel very clean out there. The mirrors in the bathroom over the sinks need to be replaced or a thorough clean as there was a lot of dust in the crevices as well as mold on the outside lower shower door. As nice as the tropical bedding decor is we would prefer bedding that can be fully washed between guests. Not bedcovers that are reused. Otherwise the property was fine.

Condo was clean and cozy. Check in and out were easy. Hot water was out for a day but water temperature for shower was not cold so it was not a problem at all. Complex was quiet. I had the pool to myself for the entire afternoon. Loved sitting reading on the lanai smelling the fragrant plumerias. Condo super close to ocean and pool was very convenient. Always had parking spot inside the gate. Cute market 7 mins walking distance with good coffee and food. 10/10. Will stay here again next time.

The condo is clean with new fixtures, cabinets and floors. The bathroom is very nice! The decor and furniture are spartan — more like a hotel than someone’s home. The kitchen was adequately stocked with plates, utensils, pans, etc. Lots of great towels for both bath and beach! The in room washer/dryer is a fantastic amenity. Four stars instead of five bc the bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable for me. It’s memory foam and very soft. Otherwise, our stay was a delight.

We loved our stay here and will definitely look forward to returning the next time we are in Kona. The pool and grounds were fantastic. The bed has a bit of a dip but was still comfortable. Sheets and linens great. We loved that we had all the amenities for spending a day the beach. Two things that were frustrating was that the washing machine (with a light load) would shake so loudly we were worried the neighbors would be disturbed. The other was the bedroom blinds that didn’t close all the way. We had to put a towel over a portion for privacy. Hopefully easy fixes. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay and it was nice and quiet here with the convenience of a store for all our needs in front of the property. Thank you!

We LOVE this place! The apartment is literally 30 steps from the sea. The condo feels very cozy, with 2 swimming pools, access to grill, and fresh coffee in front of the apt every morning. Stunning sunsets at the ocean right by the apt. The location is also excellent, close to everything. The owner Ric is the best host, he gave us lots of precious tips, and accommodated every request we had. We are so grateful for everything this place made our honeymoon a memorable one.

We absolutely loved our stay. The condo itself was very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had many helpful items already stocked, from coffee filters to spices. We appreciated the gift basket too - by far the best after having stayed in four other rental properties in Kona previously. The view was better than expected and with a very large lani we found ourselves outside daily. The complex amenities were also unbeatable - the oceanside pool and bbq grills. The air conditioner was perfect too, and if needed, there were fans in the closet.
