The location was perfect! So nice to be able to walk to the pool and beach and restaurants. The property management was extremely helpful and provided everything we needed for our baby so we didn’t have to bring extra luggage (e.g., high chair, pack n play). The condo was really cute and very roomy. The internet was spotty and we did not use the tv because it wasn’t connected to the internet so it wasn’t usable (no big deal). The only down side to our stay was the heat. I didn’t realize that the condo did not have central a/c- just a (very powerful) a/c unit in the bedroom. The bedroom stayed cool, but the rest of the condo was always hot because there is no cross breeze in that sheltered part of the building. Overall a wonderful first vacation with our baby. Thank you!

Love the location of this property! 4 mins from the beach and pool. Tennis courts and pickleball across the parking lot. Restaurants and shopping very close, walkable. The condo is very clean, with updated bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, big fridge... A few comments and why I only gave it 4 stars. We had inconsistent WIFI, sometimes in the middle of a program we would lose it. No A/C. During the day it was fine, I love the warmth. But, the bedroom doesn't really have any air movement in it. The windows are old and vent at the bottom with no cross breeze. Thank goodness they have 3 fans, we used them all. They also have ceiling fans in every room. It might be worth buying a separate A/C unit for the bedroom...

This unit is a short walk to the pool and, beyond that, a short walk to Poipu beach. The view from the upper deck is awesome and that is where we had our coffee every morning. Was a bit too hot to sit there in the afternoon sun, but we did go out to watch the stars at night.
Lovely furnishings and just enough to prep meals in the kitchen. Would stay here again for sure, as long as I can navigate the stairs in and out of this second/third story unit. Thank you!

We were so pleased with our stay at Poipu Kai Resort. The condo was very roomy for the six of us (4 adults and 2 kids ages 6 and 9). We were convenient to Poipu Beach (5 -8 minute walk depending on who you were walking with). Loved seeing the sea turtles at 5:30 AM and 7:30 PM. Volunteers were so informative about answering our questions. The pool was about a 3 minute walk. Pool key was in a bowl on the entry table. We used the key for the pool overlooking the ocean and the black fob for the pool with the hot tub. The boys enjoyed the upstairs bunkbeds and the outside lanai was the perfect place for Nana to help guide schoolwork. The kitchen table AND the outdoor lanai table were both large and roomy for the meals we cooked at home. Gas grills outside on the property were very convenient as well. We had a couple of questions and when we contacted Heather, the property manager, we received almost immediate contact from her. We did shop at Costco and Walmart for essentials. Visited the north side of the island and lucked out with no rain. Lots of rain on the day we checked out Waimea Canyon, but it was still beautiful. Poipu Kai is the perfect "in-between" place to stay. We also toured Koloa Rum in Lihue. The Sweet Shop should not be missed. It is behind the Rum shop. Loved our stay in Kauai and we would stay here again.

This was a nice place to stay in a very nice area on Kauai. We book this with less than a week before check-in as we were originally scheduled to go to Maui but switched to Kauai due to the wildfires.We did not spend much time at all in the condo. Maybe we would have spent more time there if it was more comfortable. But the lack of air conditioning made it impossible to be inside any more than completely necessary. The complex is very nice with a great pool and access to a couple of nice beaches. There are some nice restaurants in the area as well. We did our best to explore as much of the island as possible.The upstairs master bedroom is great. We did not use the air conditioner at night and just kept the doors open. The breeze that goes through there kept it quite comfortable. We did have to jam something into each screen door to keep them from snapping back and forth. Both of these doors should be replaced.The downstairs bedroom is rough due to the lack of air conditioning. You would need to be really tolerant of heat to sleep there. This bedroom was used by our two children the first night, but it was so hot we just had them sleep upstairs in our bedroom the remaining nights, which really defeated the purpose of getting a rental condo with multiple bedrooms.

The vacation rental is in a great location with walking distance to beaches with access to swimming pools, etc. The kitchen was sufficient to use for breakfast and light meals. The portal A/C was cool enough but could be colder. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the rental. The biggest negative was that this unit was advertised with 3 working bathrooms. The primary bedroom shower did not work. There was a workaround but from communication with management, some renters previously could operate the workaround to get the shower working, and some could not. After a few days of going back and forth, management finally sent out maintenance to look at the shower. Maintenance said they will have to come back to fix and the drain had an issue as well. From a previous review in June/July, the reviewer also said they had drain issues in the same bathroom. So I paid for 3 bathroom house but we had to squeeze everyone into the 2 smaller showers the whole time we were there. So this I am not happy about.

This was a lovely clean condo in a beautifully landscaped resort with several swimming pools and easy access to the shore. We saw many turtles on the beach and it was easy to get into town for scuba diving and other activities. We enjoyed quiet walks around the resort area and swimming in the pools, which were never crowded or noisy.

The property was everything we expected from the listing and more! The location is perfect for exploring the island or staying locally. Poipu beach is an easy walk even with an 80 yr. old and a toddler. The property had everything we needed and the grounds are beautifully maintained. It include free access to the Poipu Beach Club where we spent 3 days. The club has a great pool with a water slide and a restaurant with poolside service. Michael the host was very responsive to my questions and arrival was easy, no check-in office, we went straight to the front door and entered with an access code. Parking is steps from the condo so no lugging suitcases. Our visit could not have been better! Thank you Michael!

We like the area, we have stayed in the Poipu area for 11 vacations. The downstairs bedroom does not benefit much from the trade winds as much as the upstairs master bedroom. The provided fan helped out but it is loud.
We ate out on the patio everyday. My grandaughter was either in the ocean or in the pool. Poipu beach is about a 5 or so minute walk

This is a very cute condo, older but well-maintained. Ample room for our family and we enjoyed the parents-retreat upstairs while the kids slept downstairs.
It is walking distance to the beach, but we chose to drive most of the time. Good street access too so we could explore the island easily.
It's not obvious from the listing, but this condo does NOT have A/C (like most places on the island). It is well-ventilated and has ceiling fans throughout. Just in case that's something future renters would like to know.
Also, we had a roll-out bed for our third child, but there isn't room in the bedroom for it, so that kid slept in the living room. No big deal, but again a detail that's helpful if you have adults or need more privacy.
We would totally rent this place again.

Aloha. After a very long day of travel, opening the front door was welcoming. Everything was as mentioned in the description. This unit has it all! Fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed and spacious closet. We needed to utilize the sofa bed and it was equally comfortable. Well stocked "toy" closet with beach items, game, puzzles and books. The lanei is pretty private for catching some sunshine.The grounds are beautiful and the view from the pool was incredible. AC Unit on second floor does nothing to help cooling the living space on a 1st floor and honestly it's not needed on there but downstairs. It was extremely hot during the day and no breeze. The facility boasts an amazing location and is very close to the beach (1 minute walk). The unit was well stocked with necessities, although we didn't cook in at this unit due to our short stay duration. The unit IS very warm, but there are many fans available and with the right setup everyone was comfortable in the evenings. Great unit for families and we would recommend.

Our family of 4 loved our stay here. It’s just minutes walk to Brennecke’s beach where people body surf & boogie board. If you enjoy early morning walks/ jogs, there is a lovely trail on a bluff to Shipwreck beach. We saw many green sea turtles in the area which is a special sighting. The area is full of happy (sunburned) tourists, condos and plenty of restaurants and beaches to delight!

Our family had a wonderful time staying here. Great location, steps from Brennecke’s beach where our boys had a blast boogie boarding. The house is well stocked with kitchen amenities and tons of beach gear. We felt very at home. Beautiful views from the lanais. A few things need some attention: sliding glass door was so difficult to open and close for ventilation and security. Also, we didn’t use the upstairs much because it was so hot at night, being midsummer. The 2 ac units downstairs were great and thankfully there was a queen pull out bed the boys could use instead of the twin beds upstairs, but the separate beds upstairs were one of the reasons I booked here. There is a second pull out downstairs but we couldn’t get it out. So, a few frustrations that are fixable, but a gem of a place otherwise. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Greatly enjoyed our stay! Unit was a perfect size for 4 and two bathrooms with 2 young adults was a bonus. We had most kitchen supplies needed and the freezer produced ample ice (needed for all the frozen drinks by the pool!). Unit was the farthest away from the pool BUT it actually is a very short, enjoyable walk so no issues with pool access. Pool was always a nice warm temp. The 'pool guard' that comes around should be a little more leinient on allowing you to at least skip a ball in the water when noone else but your group is around :). Perfect location right next to Brenneck Beach - GREAT for snorkelling off to the left (always many turtles) and amazing for bodyboarding!! Also close to the other beaches (Poipu Beach) and resorts, so this is a nice morning walk to see the beached turtles and monk seal.
The only recommendations for improvement would be: (1) install a mini-split air conditioner. The main area is not very comfortable during the day or sleeping at night and it is only a small $2k investment (and no you don't get cool breezes that compensate). The main bedroom has a floorstanding A/C which needs to be on all the time just to keep that one room cool.
(2). Fix the sliding door out to the lanai. We had to constantly be gentle and play with it to ensure it closes / opens properly (also a security risk); although we felt safe always and the grounds staff provided ample security and let us know when/if the door was open.

Fantastic location, exactly as described! But…Master bath shower was entirely clogged and essentially out of commission (3-5 min shower until basin would overflow into floor). Alerted management immediately the first evening within 2 hours of arrival. Five days later, after additional requests to address the problem, it was not addressed and there was zero communication about the problem for the last two days. Master bath AC control panel did not work, so limited to one pre-set setting (freezing and waste of electricity). Washer ruined first set of laundry due to extreme mold smell. We used bleach to try to clean it out so we could keep using it. Has potential to be a five star experience as advertised but needs a little more attention from management to get there.

Very disappointed. We were not told when we booked that it was 14 steps up to the front door and once inside 14 steps up to the kitchen. I am 87 years old and my daughter is 67. My daughter carried all the suitcases up to the apartment. We could not use the kitchen because it was on the third floor and I couldn’t go up there. We ate out every day. We asked the manager to get us a one level and she said she would try. I didn’t hear from her. We did not use the third floor. It was a deterrent to our vacation.

This was a lovely condo with great, organized amenities, including beach use items. Grill was a few steps from the back patio. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and dining. Towels were plentiful. Air conditioners were great in bedrooms. Main part of house was a tad warm late afternoon without air conditioning, but we managed. The location was a nice stroll to several beautiful beaches, but pack a lunch or snacks because it's far enough that our group didn't want to just pop home to make a sandwich. Beds were plenty comfortable. We texted the property manager due to a slow drain in one shower and BOOM- someone was there the very next morning to snake it. The service was very impressive. We'd go there again for sure!

Really is the best spot in Poipu Kai with regards to the beach and the pool and the views. With all the air conditioning and fans going and windows open out was a comfortable temperature --the din created by all these appliances could serve as a sound machine.

This condo is well maintained and perfectly located. Our favorite beaches of the vacation were right here, just a few minutes walk. One beach was a little rougher and good for body surfing and boogie boarding. We saved that one for low tide. Further down the beach was a calm cove and even further down a calmer beach that still had some waves to play in and fish to see with snorkel gear. Brenneke's is right here and a great spot for food and snacks. There is also a surf shop right here to rent or buy gear. However, the condo was equiped with everything we needed for the beach: chairs, boogie boards, mats, toys, snorkel gear, cooler and an intertube floatie. The condo itself was plently large and comfortable for 6 people. The downstairs location made it convenient to hose off all sand before entering condo. Any sand that was missed could be easily vacuumed up before being tracked into bedrooms. Washer and dryer were available so we packed light. We stopped at Costco on the way in to get some staples but previous renters had left paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, sunscreen, bug spray. We were pleasantly surprised it was not buggy here much at all, except for a hike we took inland. Having a kitchen allowed us to eat breakfast and lunch at the condo and save money for nice dinners. We would definitely stay here, again. Best spot on the island and very clean and spacious.

The place is beautiful and very private! Chris was so quick in responding to our questions and ensuring we felt comfortable in our stay. He's literally thought of every detail so his guests can get the most of our their stay here in Poipu. The location couldn't be more perfect with quick and easy access to many beaches, stores and restaurants. Not to mention, you're so close to breathtaking sunsets and beautiful sunrises. 10 our of 10!!! We hope we can come back soon and stay at this gem!

Location was great, close to pool and beach. The upstairs office off bedroom added a nice space for the two kids. The pool/beach toys were so welcome. And the kitchen had everything we ever needed.

First of all to be FAIR…this condo by owner is well appointed, great location, and kitchen fully stocked. Now for the MANAGEMENT side. Vacasa did a minus ONE star job and the owner should consider changing companies! No dishwasher, tiny refridge (big one not working…lost tons of food due to it only cooling to 50 degrees. Dishwasher would not start. So did dishes on my vacation!! YAY! The worst was: after nearly 15 outreaches to Vacasa…turned out the woman in charge of “that part of the island” went on VACATION and then there was NO ONE taking up her job! I was pissed!! Appliance and MANAGEMENT upgrade truly needed.

Can’t beat the location just minutes from beach. Large unit with all the amenities. Had a problem with the refrigerator but the brought in a spare as quickly as could be expected. Lovely lanai and a good breeze through the unit

This is our second stay and we will back again next year. The location cannot be beat with easy walks to multiple pools and kid friendly beaches with excellent snorkeling. The property is perfect for several couples and kids. Two master suites and an upstairs that could accommodate multiple kids or another couple.

Wow. This place was better than advertised. Location was phenomenal. Minutes from the beach and 2 excellent pools and tennis courts and a sports bar. The unit was clean and well stocked for our family group of 6. Really nice patio to sit on any time of day, quiet and looking out at a large green space. Barbq was close and good. Really can’t say enough good about this. Thanks.

We loved the area - the location was just a couple blocks to beautiful Poipu Beach. The condo was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and all the amenities we could need were provided. We had a problem with the refrigerator which required us to change plans on our last day, since some food spoiled. It was a Friday and direct communication with the property manager(s) was lacking. I still would stay again in a heartbeat with hopes everything was in working order.

We arrived after a long flight, HNL/LIH cancelled, a non friendly experience at Dollar Car Rental. To wake up in the condo with a flat tire. After resolved will the car rental, came back to the condo to no hot water. 3 teens, no showers, dishes cleaned or clothes washed. "Someone" told us to go to the Athletic club to shower. (Obviously didn't know our back story). The water heater was replaced after crew spent extra time to find the problem. Hot water the next day! Yay!. Loved the view, beach, sea turtles, monk seals and condo stray cat. We would visit again and suggest Manualoha to friends. In town, Hilo Hatties was not the same. Customer service not great. Food at Brennecks(sp) not great. Aloha spirit seems gone!

We were extremely happy with our stay! It was very clean when we arrived. The pool is an extremely short walk from the lanai. You can see the ocean from the pool which is another very short walk away. There are multiple beaches walking distance or a couple minute drive from this location. There are also multiple shopping centers in the area. If you are staying with littles, you should know there are two steps in the lanai. Our 10 month old is familiar with stairs so we didn’t have any issues! The bedroom stayed pretty cool with the fan on and blinds shut! We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous property, with an easy 10 minute walk to the beach. Welcome goodies were a thoughtful and delicious touch. The master bedroom is a loft, open to the downstairs, allows you to hear the kids on the sofa bed talking at night when they should be sleeping 😉. Not a criticism, but the only spices available are salt and pepper, so bring what you need. We really enjoyed sitting on one of the 3 lanais, especially in the evening. Very comfortable.
