The condo was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. The views from the lanai very spectacular even with the rain. It was an unusual weather pattern. We had a couple sunny days on the North Shore and many in Poipu. The WiFi was very slow but it works. Condo was amply supplied with toiletries and the like. Will stay again.

Hanalei Bay Resort to me is the premier place to stay in Kauai. It has beach access, incredible views throughout the property and amazing pools. This is my third time here.
I really wouldn’t recommend this property for a family. The dishwasher never worked (though we messaged host twice they couldn’t fix it). The kitchen was missing simple things like sufficient silverware or cereal bowls. One room lacked an a/c unit. And the hot water was a major issue. We never had hot water for more than five minutes at a time.
I can’t say enough great things about the Resort. But at this price, having a hot shower or not having to unload a dishwasher full of dirty dishes would have been a lot better.

Great view of Hanalei Bay and beautiful grounds. Clean room with comfortable king bed. Beach gear, snorkel equipment, and ice chest in closet was nice touch. Parking spots can be challenge in the evening - had to use valet due to no empty spots but hotel staff was very accommodating.

The view from this unit is amazing! Loved spending time on the balcony staring at the mountains and ocean. Short walk down to a beautiful beach (or can get a ride from the resort golf carts to and from the beach). Great pool and hot tub that was never too crowded. Decent restaurant on site with an amazing view. Check in process was easy and communication with owners was great. Short car ride to Hanalei, Princeville, Kilauea, and many beaches. Would definitely stay here again.

Condo was as described, no surprises. Floors were sticky, probably due to the cleaning products. Bathroom fan wasn't working, unfortunately. ACs in both rooms did a good job of cooling us off. Condo is well stocked and ready for you to cook if you desire. This end of the island is absolutely beautiful! The perfect first half of our 10 days on Kauai. Mahalo!!

We really lucked out with this stay as we didn't know the island at all. We loved staying in Princeville with easy access to Hanalei Bay. The resort had my favorite hot tub ever with a waterfall and sand at your feet. Our room was even better than pictured. You cannot capture that view appropriately with a photo. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the shower was very nice with furnished shampoo/conditioner. I appreciated a full-size hair dryer and even a curling iron if your hair can hold curls in the humidity. We talk about where we'd stay if we went back, and I think we loved our little VRBO in Princeville best. It was just right.

We paid for a week upfront and I was surprised at checkout when they charged me $380 for resort fees and taxes. This should have been explained upfront.
The place was wonderful though. Just be prepared for daily fees of $17 for parking, $22 resort fees, 4.71% general tax and 13.25% accommodation tax… all daily.

The view from our patio was spectacular, the beach and most of the grounds were breath-taking. There were a few things that fell a little short if I am being picky. The main pool bar was not open and it doesn't look like they have served drinks there in quite some time. The hot tub was out of order. Food at the Happy Talk was just okay for the price.

Everything about our stay was incredible! We cannot say enough nice things about this property. The unit was beautifully decorated and so well stocked. It seemed like the owners thought of absolutely everything. We really appreciated the poker set for our rainy days and it was so unexpected and nice to have things like bug spray, laundry detergent, etc. already in the unit. Pictures cannot do this view justice. It is absolutely beautiful. The resort itself was so well maintained and everyone we came in contact with was so helpful and hospitable. The golf cart transfers were a really nice and unexpected touch, especially for the return up from the beach. We loved our stay here. We stayed five nights and we wish we would have booked much longer. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

We had a great stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. Its a beautiful and well kept resort in a beautiful location. The unit itself was very clean, comfortable and exactly as decribed, perfectly located a short walk from the pool, Happy Talk and the lobby and also has a perfect view from the balcony. The bed was comfortable and the a/c works well. Dave was great to work with and always quick to respond with any questions we had. We will definitely come back

This unit was exactly as described. The kitchen was well equipped, it was spacious and very nice to have a king in the second bedroom. The HBR property gorgeous, as usual. We enjoyed Happy Talk and time at the pool. The location of this unit has its plusses and minuses. On the up-side--very quiet, private and away from the pools, restaurant, tennis courts, etc. That can also be on the down-side! It was a long, up-hill walk to any of those places. Fine for our younger relatives, not so great for someone with bad knees. The carts did not always make it to us in a timely manor and we had quite a bit of rain, so the hill was an issue. The view was okay, but not nearly as nice as buildings 8 & 9, where we have stayed before. We are spoiled.

Hanalei Bay Resort has a fantastic view of the bay and local mountains. The sunsets were majestic and the sunrises were just as beautiful. The condo is a great size and well equipped for any length of stay. Those are the pros. We do have a few comments that might help the owner and future visitors. The pictures of the condo are not current, furniture and decorations are different than advertised. The nice green plants are gone, table and chairs are different, and flooring has changed. The space is not very colorful, more on the beige spectrum. Couches need a cleaning. Space needs a refresh, painting and repair of holes where it looks like items were removed but not repaired, front slotted windows look to be the original and are quite used, but still work as needed. The shower needs some help too, as mold is visible, along with a proper shower curtain (the current one is way to long and can be a trip-hazard). Some TLC would make it more beautiful to go along with the wonderful view of the bay. Now the HB Resort as a resort. The staff is wonderful and always helpful. The pools and chairs are just what you want to relax. The BBQs and eating areas are complete and clean. The grounds are well maintained, unfortunately the Hot Tub was again out of order along with the restaurant, which seems to be an ongoing issue here. The resort does seem to charge you for everything and those cost add up quickly (and to us, were too high). With all that said, we did enjoy our stay.

We absolutely loved our time on Kauai and at Hanalei Bay Resort. Milo was a great host who did an awesome job providing us with instructions that made the whole process very seamless. The property itself was exactly as described in the VRBO listing, and we really enjoyed the resort overall. After checking in and hanging out for a bit we decided to hike down to the beach for the sunset and it was beyond amazing. The views of the bay and of the mountains is one that we won’t forget. We were only there for a few days, as we were hopping around to some other islands, but we will definitely be back as soon as we can make it work.

We had never been to Kauai before and just had to roll the dice and get some recommendations from friends and relatives. We elected to stay 3 days down south and the other 3 days at the Hanalei Resort. We luckily selected a lovely condo with gorgeous mountain views! We had everything we needed to make our 3 days on the north shore spectacular - and they were. I’m glad we split our time and got a little bit of both worlds. This is definitely resort life/living with tennis courts, waterfall-laden pools, immaculate grounds, lovely private beach access and lovely buildings and units. It’s a little slice of heaven!

Room is dated and seems like they haven't put any money into the condo since it was first furnished. Coffe maker looked like it was bought at a 2nd hand store. For the price you pay once all the hidden fees added up you should just get an actual hotel room with amenities at the touch of a button. The staff for the resort was awesome and the veiw was great. I think its time to put a little money into your investment

We had a fantastic stay in this unit last week! The view is amazing! There is no better view of Hanalei Bay. We spent every morning out on the lanai drinking coffee and planning our day. We love the easy walk down to Puu Poa Beach and 10 minute walk to the path that leads down to Hideaways Beach.
The unit was clean and comfortable - I would definitely rent it again.
