On the day we arrived we were given a non working code. We had to text call and email several times and finally 1 hr later we got a new code. Day 1 of our 7 day trip we had ac issues and told by building NOT to use the ac, we advised the host and was told someone would come to look into it. On day 3 we were emailing and calling and texting the host since no one had come to look at the ac. We could no longer deal with the heat that we were forced to book other accommodations and pay out of pocket again. To make things worse this was our honeymoon and we tried to be as patient as possible but the host Just stop responding last response we got from the host was on Monday day 3 of our honeymoon trip and still yet to hear from anyone. This made our honeymoon a living H*E*L*L

This place made our trip a living H*E*LL. When we arrived the code didnt work after a few calls and text messages we were provide a new code. On day 1 or a 7 day trip we were told not to use the ac as it was leaking into the downstairs unit. We called and sent text asking to be looked into. 3 full days of no ac and NO ONE coming to review the ac issue we were forced to stay in different location and worst part they stopped responding overall. No one everr returned a cal or a text . DO NOT BOOK HERE. OH YEAH WERE OUT OUR ENTIRE STAY AND HAD TO PAY FOR OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS

We enjoyed our stay. The only downfall is the 35 dollar parking and lack of no street parking. We walked 10 blocks everyday so we could park in a cheaper garage. Easy check in and great pool with hot tub! Will stay here again!

Needs a good deep cleaning and paint would make it 100% better. Beds were horrible. Both just form mattress. Was a last minute booking so you get what you get. Communication was fast snd efficient.

Wouldn't give the unit more than 3 stars at best. The only things that were nice about the unit was the view from the balcony and the location. Some of the most notable flaws were the following: 1) bathroom door doesn't open all the way as it hits the toilet seat, 2) only one out of the two stove top burners actually turned on, but heating a pan still took forever using the one that powered on, 3) the shower always had a constant drip from the faucet, 4) the shower floor would creak/pop while walking on it, 5) the floor molding that was used around the base of the tub was both tacky and constantly wet, 6) the AC unit would pool water on the balcony. If you NEED a place to stay in Waikiki and this is the only place available, it will do. However, if you are looking for a high quality apartment, you may be better off paying a little more for something nicer.

We rented this particular room for 8 days. It was in a terrific location, with a perfect view. The room is not as updated as the pictures show. No throw pillows on the bed, and for sure could use a facelift. Dresser/desk all chipped/weathered, bathroom tub and shower head very worn, but very reasonably priced since we were mostly there to sleep and shower. The sheets were clean and the amenities were fine. The pool and hot tube were nice, and the general store was super convenient on the 6th floor. All in all, no regrets and would stay here again. Walking distance to all things, and Starbucks a block away. We really enjoyed our first visit to Hawaii! Thank you!

Pros: Superb location. From the balcony you can see the city, the ocean, the canal, and the mountains. It was beautiful. Check-in and check-out instructions were very clear. The people at the front desks were very helpful and kind. I felt very safe and I had everything I needed for a great vacation.
Cons: The only real complaint I have is that some of the upholstery and linens were stained (the couch had a few light stains on it, the sheets had black marks on them that looked like burn marks or damage from an old dryer, and the shower curtain had a giant bleach stain on it). These complaints however, did not disrupt my fun in the sun by any means. The view from the balcony annd the location overshadowed any negatives.

We found the condo nice and clean. The windows of the sleeping room are no real windows, but plastic lamellas, meaning the noise from outside is pretty loud and as Waikiki is a very noisy neighborhood, I needed to use earplugs for sleeping. The kitchen has all you need besides spices. The pool area and fitness were nice and clean.

We choose this location for my mother-in-law. She was visiting us for her birthday, and it was her first time to Hawaii. The location was great and amenities convenient. She really enjoyed her stay even though it rained alot of the time. They were doing construction on the same floor and we thought the room looked bigger in the photos. But no complaints here. She had a blast!

Overall the property was fine. Not great but not bad just fine.
The light switches were confusing and the amount of electrical expanders was a bit unnerving. For the price I guess it was fair?
The AC made the room warmer oddly, unless it was on fan mode and I couldn't cool down below 80 degrees at night unless I had the windows open. Then it was loud.
It's near shops and all which is fine. If you plan to spend very little time in the unit then you'll be fine, if you want to feel homey or to be able to easily use the TV you won't like. I couldn't even get the Netflix to work.
All in all it was fine. Like I'd give a solid B-.

We only had a few days on Oahu. This location was perfect for access to the highlights. The room was clean, the supplies in kitchen were adequate and the amenities of the building were all there. My only dislike was sleeping on the pullout sofa was not comfortable for an adult. Otherwise it was great. Initially thought it would be too high up but elevators were quick and view was above most buildings.

Nice view from balcony especially at night. Bonus I got to see Friday fireworks from it. There are just a few little things that would make this unit truly perfect - bathroom could use a refresh like new shower curtain. Mattress obviously has some sort of plastic casing under the sheet which makes it less comfortable. But mostly a solid unit in a safe building. Ate a couple times in the cafe on first floor. Would recommend overall.

The location was perfect for walking around, great view from the balcony and the pull out sofa was very comfortable. We did run out of clean towels and TP, the front desk does not supply to Vrbo tenants, we ended up buying our own but could have probably called the leasing agent. Overall no complaints!

The apartment was clean and it was in a great walkable location with a beautiful view of Diamond Head, golf course and the city. It was a little smaller than we thought. The bathroom was so small it was nearly impossible for 2 people to be there at the same time which wasn’t really convenient when you’re trying to get ready quicker.
Unfortunately, the windows did not have protection against noise. We heard every single noise from the outside and it was especially annoying at night when we heard people yelling. Also, when it was windy outside we heard and felt it. We discovered that the windows were like glass blinds and not like regular windows and that’s why we heard every noise. We didn’t sleep a single night without interruptions.
Even though everything else was great we would not stay there again because we were like zombies for our whole stay and we needed sleep to have energy to enjoy our dream vacation and discover the island.

We cannot say enough good about the staff at Pacific Monarch they were friendly & helpful especially Christieann. Our problem was our actual room 1304 when we arrived we were shocked to see torn drapes & a dirty room. Never mind the plastic netting covering the balcony & blocking your view. Would a screen door not have been a better choice. There was no plug for the kitchen sink, no tea towels to dry your dishes & no dish cloth to wash your dishes. Our host Lei Hawaiian Realty did bring us a drain cover that did not hold water to protect the drain & two hand towels to dry our dishes after we complained. We also asked if it would be possible to get some salt & pepper. Our hosts reply was we do not supply any condiments. Really? I must say the shower was excellent we just wish it had some shelves in it to hold your shampoo etc. We did find the bed extremely comfortable but when we stripped the bed to wash the sheets we discovered a disgusting stained mattress cover. To top it all off we came across a couple of large cockroaches in our suite. We contacted our host right away to see if they would spray our room as we had I believe another five days left to stay there. Our host said that was not necessary they would bring a trap over to catch them. The lady arrived with a paper trap with sticky paper inside. She went to hand it to me & I asked her if she would mind assembling it for me as I had never dealt with cockroaches & I had no idea how to use it. She put it together for me & as she assembled it she laughed & told me that if we saw two cockroaches there were probably 20 or more in our room. A few days later our host called & offered to move us. I told my husband that with only a couple of days left I was not prepared to pack up & move. I would have moved if they had offered it when we first contacted them but they did not offer it right away. Pacific Monarch is in a good location & I would stay there again with a different host.

Good location and setup. Beds were very comfortable although pillows were very high and hard. Check in process was very easy and the security is great. The kitchen set up looked good but we didnt really use it. The only negative is the bathroom. It needs a good cleaning, a paint job and some updating. While we were there they were doing renovations and it was sometimes noisy and a little difficult to maneuver through the hallways.

This unit was not inviting as it desperately needed a fresh look. It was a very tiring appeal. The unit did not have any niceties, no decor except for a plastic orchid. The living room furniture was uncomfortable and the king size bed was horrible. We could not sleep on it lengthwise but had to rearrange the sheets and blankets to sleep sideways across the bed. The furniture and particularly the bed was our biggest complaint. For those that rent this unit for more than a few days, it would have been nice if the owners supplied things like salt/pepper, maybe some cooking oil and more than just an itty bitty bottle of dish soap, and there wasn’t any dish towels to find. It was a lot of money for what little we got. Clean and no bugs.

Property owner and hotel reception totally unrelated and reception are a key issuing service and most unhelpful. Arrived 9am after overnight flight but no record of booking passed on and i tried eventually reception tried but host not answering phone so reception refused to hold luggage till 3pm so we had to leave elsewhere . Property Ok but 2nd and 3rd night waft of cannabis smoke on balcony from other occupants close by TV was bust view was not great as on side of building would stay in hotel next time most unhelpful host / reception both tried blaming each other .

The location and the building amenities are great. The unit was clean, but needs some attention to detail. For instance the toilet paper holder needs fixing, along with the toilet flushing handle, the dresser drawers don't work well, the curtain rod is not very secure, the bathtub has seen better days, and the bathroom faucet needs replacing. In addition the hot water in the kitchen faucet has no pressure at all. If it were my unit I would also update the artwork and just give the place a refresher. However, we are very grateful to have stayed there. Thank you very much.

We were happy with the location, value, cleanliness, safety and on-site parking. There were some minor negatives, but we would stay here again. The online photos are accurate. The studio was very clean and comfortable although a bit old and outdated. It was roomy enough for two people. The beds were very comfortable but there needs to be a variety of pillow firmness to accommodate different types of sleepers. The AC unit is so loud on the high setting that we could not hear the TV. The Eco setting was quieter and worked for sleeping. We found the AC instructions in the nightstand on the last day of our stay. An information binder would be helpful. There is a full-size refrigerator with the microwave on the top of the frig. A step stool would be handy for short people. We had a problem with the kitchenette faucet head detaching that appears to have happened before. The building is a combination of condominiums and hotel rooms, which could get confusing. Island Colony is the condo component and Aqua Skyline is the hotel. The building is old, as are most condos in Waikiki, but it is clean and well-maintained. The building is quieter than being on busy Kuhio Ave. The building is a convenient 5-minute walk to the International Marketplace or 6-minute walk to the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. Parking was confusing. It would have been helpful to have detailed parking instructions available before check-in. Parking is $40 per day, plentiful and attached to the building. The price is in the normal range for the area. The entrance and exit gates to the parking area are on a steep, 40-degree ramp. Pull a ticket and park. Before departing, pay the parking fee in the lobby, which gives you another ticket. To exit, you must scan BOTH your original ticket and the paid parking ticket at the exit ramp. The view of the canal (including rowing teams) from the bedroom, and the view of the city and Waikiki beach from the living room are stunning. If you enjoy shopping and dining, the location is 1 to 2 blocks from everything in central Waikiki. Its not really convenient for beach swimming access, as you would need to carry beach equip. a few blocks. The room could definitely use more decor, particularly, the living room has a sparse feel, several pictures of tropical scenery would be nice. The first two days we had to contact property management because the TV was not hooked up, (fixed the next day) and the freezer didn't work at all, this was never addressed, and we had to throw away a couple of damaged items. Also, the microwave and stovetop were not user friendly or intuitive on how to use, it took much trial and error until we figured them out (and located a manual). Bedroom did not have a window cover for the center slider, so there was lights from the city all night, and the AC is very loud (my husband temporarily muffled it). Parking was $40 a night, quite pricey. The pool and jacuzzi area is nice. I would recommend this property for the view and location.

We had a wonderful time at Island Colony. The condo was clean and comfortable with the most amazing views. It was close to Waikiki (just 5 minutes), and had a nice pool deck. Check-in, check-out and parking was a breeze. My only complaints: there was no ice tray in the freezer, so I couldn't make ice, and the air conditioning unit vents to the balcony (but we just turned it off when we were out there, so not a big problem). But other than that, perfect!

The location is fantastic! In walking distance to beach, many restaurants, galleries. The building itself is older and it shows. It’s a basic good option for a place to land to do other things. The kitchen is basic, functional. The bed was comfortable. But there are a few things that could be done to improve the experience, such as add more light in the bedroom, replace the shower curtain and drapes.

We appreciated our stay because it is close to the beach, has a rooftop pool, walking distance to everything in Waikiki and across the street from bus stop. The studio is OK - very basic & small. Was not impressed but it served its purpose of eating, showering and sleeping. The rental agency said they will charge me an extra day because I checked in early but the hotel should not have given me the key then or should have told me I will be charged if I enter a few hrs early. However, IMO this is wrong and I will contest this with my cc company. Wish there was a drying rack for the balcony to dry bathing suits and some beach towels. We stayed 6 nights so we would have appreciated extra towels too. Mini fridge/freezer was fine for us. Floor does get dusty so had to sweep daily. Did not use AC, wifi, sofa bed or TV so can't comment on those. Shower had hot water and good pressure. Wasn't sure how to lock the door from inside though. PLEASE add a dead bolt or some sort of extra security lock in addition to the door knob. The lock on door knob didn't work. Bed was comfortable. Appreciated the coffee that was provided. They also provided dish soap, paper towels and a few trash bags. We were mother & small child. Another adult may have been too crowded and we would have definitely needed to use the sofa bed. Overall, this place worked for us for the 6 nights but not any longer.
