We were happy with the location, value, cleanliness, safety and on-site parking. There were some minor negatives, but we would stay here again. The online photos are accurate. The studio was very clean and comfortable although a bit old and outdated. It was roomy enough for two people. The beds were very comfortable but there needs to be a variety of pillow firmness to accommodate different types of sleepers. The AC unit is so loud on the high setting that we could not hear the TV. The Eco setting was quieter and worked for sleeping. We found the AC instructions in the nightstand on the last day of our stay. An information binder would be helpful. There is a full-size refrigerator with the microwave on the top of the frig. A step stool would be handy for short people. We had a problem with the kitchenette faucet head detaching that appears to have happened before. The building is a combination of condominiums and hotel rooms, which could get confusing. Island Colony is the condo component and Aqua Skyline is the hotel. The building is old, as are most condos in Waikiki, but it is clean and well-maintained. The building is quieter than being on busy Kuhio Ave. The building is a convenient 5-minute walk to the International Marketplace or 6-minute walk to the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. Parking was confusing. It would have been helpful to have detailed parking instructions available before check-in. Parking is $40 per day, plentiful and attached to the building. The price is in the normal range for the area. The entrance and exit gates to the parking area are on a steep, 40-degree ramp. Pull a ticket and park. Before departing, pay the parking fee in the lobby, which gives you another ticket. To exit, you must scan BOTH your original ticket and the paid parking ticket at the exit ramp. The view of the canal (including rowing teams) from the bedroom, and the view of the city and Waikiki beach from the living room are stunning. If you enjoy shopping and dining, the location is 1 to 2 blocks from everything in central Waikiki. Its not really convenient for beach swimming access, as you would need to carry beach equip. a few blocks. The room could definitely use more decor, particularly, the living room has a sparse feel, several pictures of tropical scenery would be nice. The first two days we had to contact property management because the TV was not hooked up, (fixed the next day) and the freezer didn't work at all, this was never addressed, and we had to throw away a couple of damaged items. Also, the microwave and stovetop were not user friendly or intuitive on how to use, it took much trial and error until we figured them out (and located a manual). Bedroom did not have a window cover for the center slider, so there was lights from the city all night, and the AC is very loud (my husband temporarily muffled it). Parking was $40 a night, quite pricey. The pool and jacuzzi area is nice. I would recommend this property for the view and location.

We had a wonderful time at Island Colony. The condo was clean and comfortable with the most amazing views. It was close to Waikiki (just 5 minutes), and had a nice pool deck. Check-in, check-out and parking was a breeze. My only complaints: there was no ice tray in the freezer, so I couldn't make ice, and the air conditioning unit vents to the balcony (but we just turned it off when we were out there, so not a big problem). But other than that, perfect!

The location is fantastic! In walking distance to beach, many restaurants, galleries. The building itself is older and it shows. It’s a basic good option for a place to land to do other things. The kitchen is basic, functional. The bed was comfortable. But there are a few things that could be done to improve the experience, such as add more light in the bedroom, replace the shower curtain and drapes.

We appreciated our stay because it is close to the beach, has a rooftop pool, walking distance to everything in Waikiki and across the street from bus stop. The studio is OK - very basic & small. Was not impressed but it served its purpose of eating, showering and sleeping. The rental agency said they will charge me an extra day because I checked in early but the hotel should not have given me the key then or should have told me I will be charged if I enter a few hrs early. However, IMO this is wrong and I will contest this with my cc company. Wish there was a drying rack for the balcony to dry bathing suits and some beach towels. We stayed 6 nights so we would have appreciated extra towels too. Mini fridge/freezer was fine for us. Floor does get dusty so had to sweep daily. Did not use AC, wifi, sofa bed or TV so can't comment on those. Shower had hot water and good pressure. Wasn't sure how to lock the door from inside though. PLEASE add a dead bolt or some sort of extra security lock in addition to the door knob. The lock on door knob didn't work. Bed was comfortable. Appreciated the coffee that was provided. They also provided dish soap, paper towels and a few trash bags. We were mother & small child. Another adult may have been too crowded and we would have definitely needed to use the sofa bed. Overall, this place worked for us for the 6 nights but not any longer.

From the simplicity of first booking the room through check in and during the stay we had no problems. The building has a little store and was very convenient. We had a wonderful stay at the Island Colony #3007 condo. The views of the ocean and of the Ala Wai canal were lovely. The condo is close to many restaurants and shops, and of course, only a few blocks from the beach. Checking in was easy, even at 11pm, and the rental staff is so responsive, just a quick text and whatever you need is taken care of. The condo pool area is spacious and has plenty of lounge chairs, and the sauna is HOT! Thanks for a wonderful, clean space for us to enjoy Oahu. Mahalo!!

Really loved this property and location! Very clean with good basic appointments. Great for walking distance to restaurants shops and Waikiki beach. We really loved the sunrise view of the mountain behind the building from the balcony and the beautiful Mountain View during the day.
The pool and hot tub are a great size and have a good amount of loungers so that you can find a seat.
Some other items to bring with you would include tea towels, coffee filter, salt and pepper and general cleaning products like Lysol wipes and dish soap if you are staying longer than a week. The unit is not cleaned at all while you stay there.
Do NOT overload elevators. Like almost all building in Waikiki beach this building is older and the elevators are temperamental. Do not be shy about saying no if people want to squeeze into the elevator with you.
Overnight parking is outrageously expensive at $40 USD per night.
There was construction while we were there but it did not bother us at all. Pls check before you go that the ongoing construction will not interfere with your plans. For example the pool area was set to be redone.
The futons are older and pretty basic. Good for small children. Not great for adults.
Overall and great place to stay! We had a great time and would go back again!

This unit is great for people who love Waikiki but enjoy having a private space. The units on this floor are all very quiet and the pool and bbq areas are a great addition. My favorite thing was the spacious lanai for a lazy morning coffee or a quiet evening in. If you’re around on Friday evening, it also has great sight lines for the fireworks show!

Island Colony is centrally located. It is close to shops, restaurants and downtown Honolulu. It is easy to walk to the beach and spend the day on the sand. The unit is very nice and the beds are comfortable.

Huge Positives - The location and view were both fantastic, right in the heart of Waikiki with amazing views of the ocean on one side, and the lush Hawaiian mountains on the other. Many activities, shopping, restaurants and beaches are all within walking distance.
Negatives - The suite is pretty run down, and because the doors to the deck aren't sealed, it is very noisy at all times, as is the air conditioner.
Advice - Park on Ala Wai Blvd and save yourself the $40 USD per day they charge for parking at the building. It will mean a longer walk back to your suite, but it was totally worth it for us. Just make sure you pay attention to the signs for the two times per week you can't park there.

Ideal location. Really everything in walking distance 5 -15 minutes. Excellent bus experience can also take you to location of interest, $3.00
International Market and Waikiki Market and other markets where you can buy groceries, prepared meals a few blocks away.
They have bbq’s on the 6th Floor where you can cook up your own food, you got from the market.
I took advantage of the pool, hot tub and sauna almost every day. Hot tub and sauna was great to relax after a day of touring around .
They have a small convenience shop on the 6th floor. Lots of laundry machines, reasonable prices to use.
They have a place on ground level you can buy breakfast.

My wife and I were very pleased with the location and unit accommodations. We were only minutes from Waikiki beach, shopping and great dining options. The view was incredible but sadly the city lights faded out our star gazing. Not as quiet as we would have hoped for - sirens, loud exhaust cars / motorcycles. Ah, city life.The unit was very clean and supplied w/ most everything one would need in the kitchen & bathroom. Padio furniture was in great shape - to include a drying rack. We did notice the following items requiring maintenance: 1. Bathtub was cracked from soap dish to tub plus depending on the time of day the shower water temp madly fluctuated hot to cold. 2. Bathroom sink hot water handle leaks when turned on plus very low pressure - dribble, not a stream. 3. DVD player drawer would not slide out to receive a DVD. 4. The sofa mattress is terrible and needs replacing - felt every cross bar. However, the building had a clean laundry room, good size pool & hot tub, very nice gym, and a great breakfast/lunch dining option on the first floor.Great on-site building staff and Lei Hawaii Realty was very helpful in helping to set up our stay.I would highly recommend this property / unit as long as the maintenance items are corrected.International marketplace was super. Dole plantation was fun especially the soft-serve pineapple ice-cream. Also highly recommend booking a luau w/ TOA Luau. It was the most enjoyable and entertaining luau I've ever experienced. Great location and building, really comfortable for us. Unit is starting to show it's age unfortunately but, hey, aren't we all.
Some small repairs would be great. Most annoying was the kitchen sink faucet that does not like to shut off, the damaged stove knobs, and the air conditioner that makes a horrendous racket and doesn't cycle properly.
Well, that ceiling fan works fine and minor issues certainly did not ruin our stay, which was pleasant indeed.

Wonderful experience in the condo. Was exactly as described. Loved Waikiki, rented a car from the airport and parked in the attached garage. We could walk to pretty much everything, but wanted to tour the whole island, so rented the car.
Did most of our cooking in the unit and used the BBQ’s several times.
Washer and Dryers were handy, and the hot tub was a nice way to wind down.
Especially liked the Magic Bullet blender for homemade Pina Coladas while relaxing on the balcony. View of the ocean, mountains and skyline was gorgeous.

The property is as pictured. The location is excellent. The building is old and it shows somewhat. This unit is clean but it is tired. The bathroom in particular needs an overhaul. The balcony, view, pool, hot tub and bbq area is what makes this a good place to stay as it's central to everything. The only real downside is that owners may smoke in their units and it can be invasive, particularly considering the choice of smoke. Would be nice if it was a non-smoking building. I will stay there again!

We stayed in January 2024 with family staying in a separate unit on 39th floor. Upon our arrival to Island Colony one of our room reservations could not be found by the gentleman checking us in. We tried multiple times to contact Alii Beach rentals, even at their afterhours/emergency number to no avail. This is not how we wanted to start our holiday after a rough day of traveling with young kids. We ended up having to pay out of pocket for the expense of one room that night. I contacted Alii Beach Rentals the next day and they reimbursed us promptly, apologized for the inconvenience and sent the check in paperwork promptly to Island Colony.Our room was clean on the surface but desperately needs a deep cleaning. Furniture is dated/worn. Hydraulics are broken on the bar stools-you will start out eating at counter height but then be sitting on the floor. Glass on the lanai railing was so mucky and smeared, it did not lend itself well to enjoying the view.The mattresses are so worn out they are literally falling apart, they have placed cheap foam toppers on them but they are still pretty awful with no edge support, you will roll onto the floor if you get too close to the edge and you would be hard pressed to comfortably sleep 2 adults in one bed because of this. Balcony door and windows shake so badly in the wind it may keep you up at niteSome of the pros!-Communication with Alii was typically great aside from their oversight with our reservation upon arrival. The view IS amazing and the lanai furniture is nice. Lots of channels on the TV to enjoy some downtime. Kitchen is well stocked for the basics. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. BBQ area was nice and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub-but sadly they close at 9pm. Laundry area is clean and machines work great. Parking is plentiful and easy. Breaky downstairs at 49er was delish. A few minor updates in this unit would go a long way-please start with the mattresses as a good sleep on vacation is prior

I am a returned traveler to Alii Beach Rentals and this property. The location is convenient, the room well-equipped with a beautiful view. However, due to the building's age, street noise is audible even with windows closed. The view and location are excellent for the price, and check-in instructions were clear, making the process smooth. There was a day-long water outage in another room, raising concerns about notification if it were to affect my room. WiFi details were provided, but only the password was included without the network name, which could be improved for guests' convenience.Overall great!

Central location to all the shops, beach. I like the fact you can walk no need for a car.
