Kapiolani Beach Park is a nice alternative to the busy sections of Waikiki beach. The park offers lots of shade and nice picnic areas. The swimming at Kapiolani beach is somewhat awkward due to scattered rocks in the water. This is a great place to come for a swim after a busy day of shopping in Waikiki. Good surfing in deeper water.
