Stayed here (5) nights in April 2026: reservation and check in were simple, good communication with staff, condo was very clean, updated and had a gorgeous view from balcony. There were only 3 wine glasses available, but other than that kitchen was very well stocked with everything else not to mention beautiful too !!! Would highly recommend this condo to anyone :-)

Spacious rental with two BIG lanai’s with non-stop whale action almost the whole trip. Tammy the property manager is the BEST and will help with anything you need! She was one of our favorite parts of our trip and one of the reasons we rebooked before we even left!!!!

We had stayed at Makani sands another time in a different unit. It was lovely. We were expecting the same this time and were very disappointed. The unit definitely needs updating.It wasn’t very clean-would not choose this unit again or recommend it to friends.

Easy place to stay. Living room furniture a bit dated but when in Hawaii I’m not there to stay in my room. Overall great location, easy to access and host was genuinely helpful and easy to communicate with! We had a great time even though we were in Maui during some pretty awful weather.

The host was extremely accommodating. We arrived late in evening and the lights were on and it was lovely not to walk into a strange dark place. He also granted us a later check out on the day we were leaving. It was so nice to hear the ocean while sitting in the family room. There was a lovely breeze through the condo and fans kept it cool enough.

The condo, which is essentially a full town house, was great. It was so nice having breakfast every morning out on the lanai as we watched the whales. We also saw the occasional turtle in the water with us right on our little beach. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms and kitchen had everything stocked that we could have possibly needed. All of the staff we came across were so welcoming, and Tammy is an absolute gem. Thank you for the great stay! The weather didn't play nicely for a large part of our trip, so we're already making plans to come back for a do over!

I didn’t receive the email with the code to get in the place until after we arrived. It made for some nervous moments, not knowing how to get in. The place is awesome right on the water. All amenities were appreciated. However, the bed frame was very loud it kept hitting the wall and making noise and the other amenities were kind of weak soap and paper and things like that we’re kind of wimpy.. A big problem was the Wi-Fi was terrible. I had a Zoom meeting that I could not do because the Wi-Fi was not strong enough. I have stayed in these units before and I never had a problem until now. Also because of the bad Wi-Fi we could not watch TV without it buffering

Our host was very accommodating and responsive. The condo is very close to the waves as they incessantly roll into sea wall that fronts the property and the ocean sounds are quite relaxing. I believe there was once an ample beach, but was not present during our stay, so to access a sandy beach you’ll need to walk or drive. There is a nice grassy area outside your door to enjoy the afternoon sun and sea sounds. We were very pleased with the condo interior as it was clean and well kept with ample kitchen small appliances and gadgets. All the knives were very dull. The bed was very comfortable.

The condo was clean and in a great location. The office staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The condo really has one shower. The master bath shower is a deep soaking tub and I actually fell and the bar placed to hold on to came off and hit me. Some of the decor is beautiful but in my opinion way too much stuff and some is very tacky. Furniture is not comfortable.

Tammy had sent an e-mail with all the info that was needed for check-in, office hours & vehicle parking permit.It was dark when we arrived & the hallway to the condo could sure use a light! We noticed that the condo was older than what we expected. Bed was very comfortable! The kitchen was quite small & the amenities where okay, but struggled with the toaster, the lever would not stay down to toast, had to hold it down. Opening the drapes to the lanai with the ocean waves crashing up against the wall was awesome! Condo location was great, just like the picture showed.

The unit was nice and the proximity to the beach makes it even nicer. We enjoyed several beautiful sunsets while having dinner right on the lanai. The unit was well stocked and we had everything we needed right there. It was in a great location near restaurants, shopping, and a cute beach park. The only thing is we didn’t realize until we checked in is that there was no AC in the unit, which is ended up not being a huge deal because you get a nice breeze from the ocean as long as you leave the door and the windows in the bedroom open. Would definitely stay there again.

Amazing views of the beach and ocean. So close to the surf it was like being in our own little cabana but with the option of the porch or right inside. 10-15 minutes walking from food/stores, most of thr beaches also within 15 minutes that we we t to. Lots of turles swimming our little cove, good snorkling or jiat bobbing in the surf. Would love to stay longer and if we get the chance to come back. Older condo, and it looks like DYI on some of the bathroom updates, but all functional, very clean, very comfortable and very reponsive supervisors. Stocked kitchen. Lots of towels. Extra blankets and pillows and air worked fine.

This was a great condo. It had great access to the beach and the condo itself was well maintained. We stayed on three different islands during our trip and this was our best accommodation. There was always enough parking. It wasn't too loud but the bedroom window is right next to the elevator so you could hear other guests. It wasn't that disruptive and didn't change our minds about how nice the condo was. The shower was nice.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Makani Sands and the first time in this unit. My fav unit so far. It was nicely appointed and the sofa bed was comfortable--which is saying a lot for a sofa bed. It is a beautiful location.

Good location. 1st level, direct waterfront access was a game changer!! Unit was clean and well stocked. We had spectacular mornings sitting on the patio listening to the gentle waves and stunning evenings watching the sunsets! Sofa pullout bed was less than ideal from a comfort standpoint. Unfortunately, we had folks above and beside that had zero awareness of others next store or below. with constant slamming doors and what sounded like rearranging furniture and running races from front of condo to back, we were never able to get a single good night's sleep.

We loved our stay at Makani Sands with a toddler. It is conveniently located near restaurants and grocery. Being able to cook our breakfast and doing laundry wasn't something one would expect, but having that flexibility with a toddler is something I was glad about. They provide beach chair, cooler bags, sun hats, beach ball, beach towels etc, so you wouldn't have to worry about bringing those. The benefit of access to the beach privately was something I realized after I left the place. I wish I could go back and soak in more of it. Definitely staying here when we are back in Maui.

Its a nice, not crowded place to stay. Snorkled with sea turtles every day. Use a tide chart to know when to go. Pool was nice to have access to. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was well equipped. Washer and dryer worked well.
