Host provided basic necessary items like extra extra bags, rice cooker, parking is included, beach chairs and boogie boards. You can only wash clothes till 10PM due to quiet hours although the washer and dryer is not loud at all. The neighbors are louder than the machines.

Nice place, excellent location, great view! 1 bedroom, comfortable King bed, kitchen had everything one needs to cook. Property management is very professional and helpful. Liked not needing a key. Parking is included, which we appreciate. Has beach chairs and towels.Cons: No screen door, so door must be closed the whole time to keep out the birds! BIG BUMMER, cos I like real air. We never use A/C in Hawai'i, otherwise. Also, REALLY high up. We didn't know what to expect, but it was kinda scary so we didn't eat on the lanai (another thing we always do). No dishwasher. Laundry down the hall. Guests are told to throw all food out before leaving, so there's only salt and pepper (unlike other rentals with lots of random spices, sauces, oil, vinegar, etc). No cooler for beach. All in all, a nice place.

Overall great stay! Location is a short 4 block walk to the beach with multiple restaurants close by. Parking space was a must have if you want to explore the island! View from the lanai was amazing - ocean and Diamond Head views. The building was a bit run down with smelly carpets and the pool area was a bit boring. The condo itself was good. Great view and pretty much everything you need! Only a few cons: I would advise you clean everything in the kitchen before using since we did find multiple dirty dishes and utensils. It would have been nice to have bbq tools to use at the condo grill area. Fhe city is loud all night long - bring ear plugs if you wake up easily. The bed was super hard and uncomfortable. And 2 of the provided beach chairs were broken.

Small quiet condo with peekaboo views of the ocean. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The carpet and curtains definitely need to be replaced - the blackout curtains in the bedroom have so many holes that they are definitely not blackout anymore. The carpet is very stained and would be more hygienic if they change it out for vinyl or tile - BUT it didn’t ruin our stay. The kitchen was well equipped! Small but doable. Having a toddler it was a must that we found a place with a kitchen table and bathtub. Ample closet space and lots of hangers and a large dresser. You can’t beat the location - couple mins and you are at Waikiki beach and the area with the barrier break which is great to swim with little ones. The free parking was a must. The heated pool was lovely. We have stayed at the Waikiki Banyan before and we found the Waikiki Sunset to be more quiet and faster to get in and out of when it came to parking or accessing the elevators. This alone I would choose the sunset over the banyan. This condo is right next to the elevators and was so quiet! One thing we found quite unsettling was that the windows in the bedroom opened completely up and they are large windows - no lock or system to prevent a child from falling. One issue we found was that the water temperature for the shower/tub was always unpredictable- some days it was only cool water and some days it would get hot. Otherwise nice quiet cozy place.

Great location and the rental had all necessities and extras from cooking to beach gear. Great view of Diamond Head and enjoyed sitting and working a little from balcony. The parking pass was icing on the cake. Cannot undervalue when cost of parking is about 45/night and we were coming and going at no cost and as we pleased. This rental unit is great and highly recommended. We had 3 adults, a 4 year old and a baby and was comfortable! Thanks for a great stay

The room has everything you could need and it’s a corner unit. Nice view of the zoo trees, diamond head, and slivers of ocean. Close to the laundry room and trash shoot. Easy walking distance to the ocean. Only complaint is that it needs new beds. The bed in the sofa is NOT recommended for anyone. The king bed feels broken on both sides. The air mattress did not come with a pump.

She was very responsive when we had questions, she offered things for us to do local or within a short drive, as well as nearby restaurants and shops. We, three girls, stayed at Waikiki Sunset in May 2026 and truly enjoyed our stay. The exterior and building looked a bit old, but the property was very well-maintained. The room was spacious and comfortable for the three of us.The location was also perfect — only a few blocks from the beach, yet far enough from the center of Waikiki to avoid the heavy traffic and crowds. We appreciated being able to enjoy some peace and quiet while still having easy access to everything.There were a few minor issues during our stay. The electrical outlet in the bathroom did not work, so the washlet was unusable, and we had to dry our hair outside the bathroom. However, the property manager, Byron, was attentive and responded to our requests very quickly. He even called us outside of office hours to assist us, which we greatly appreciated.Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at Waikiki Sunset and would definitely like to stay there again in the future.

I was so happy with the Waikiki Sunset property. I've stayed at many properties in Waikiki because our daughter lives in Honolulu and this is by far one of my favorite places. I regret booking this unit and would not recommend it. Pay attention to the bad reviews — you might get stuck with a crappy unit too! It seems that the realty company has a show unit they used for the photos because my unit was not as pictured, yet there are tons of positive reviews. The unit I stayed in was very run-down and poorly maintained. The couch and throw pillows were very stained, there were stains on the carpet and curtains, the toilet ran nonstop, there was a mark on the bathroom wall that looked like blood, and there was only one lamp (in the bedroom) so you had to use overhead lights in the living room at night. I told the host about the toilet multiple times and they never sent anyone to look at it. I contacted them right away about moving to another unit or getting some money back. They didn’t have another 2-bed unit available but offered a 20/night refund. I also asked for a free late checkout. I messaged them about it for the second time around noon on Monday and they did not respond until 30 minutes after the standard checkout time on Tuesday, at which point we had already left. Communication with the host was difficult as they seemed to be in a different time zone. Vrbo’s customer service was helpful and gave me some additional money back. I’ve rented multiple places through Vrbo and this is the worst experience I’ve had. The only positive things I can say are that it was very close to the beach and the AC worked well.

This property is a good value. Great location… Just two short blocks to Waikiki Beach. Parking was included and convenient to the unit. There were even beach chairs provided. We love the view. I would suggest that the cabinet doors need attention, and it would’ve been nice to have some starter coffees for those who arrive late in the day. Thanks for a wonderful time!

The kitchen was just the cooking appliance ances. They were in great shape. I guess I have been spoiled with seasonings, spices and coffee. One packet of coffee was left there for our use. We wound up purchasing coffee, seasonings and spices for our cooking. We did leave some behind hopefully for the next guest to use.The bidet toilet was a nice surprise in the bathroom. It was a new experience for us. However there seemed to be a leak next to the toilet. It stayed wet constantly.Overall it was a great experience and we will return. Thank you.

Finally, a Hawaii condo with a modern feel!This was our seventh condo in the islands but the first that didn't have that standard dated island look. You know the one; tan tile floors, wicker chairs, wicker tables, wicker picture frames, wicker pots and pans, wicker, wicker, wicker. Nope, here you had a huge modern kitchen countertop with clean white walls, vinyl flooring and just enough furniture to fill the space. Not cluttered. It's one thing to see it in the pictures, but quite another to walk into the unit. It was refreshing to say the least!The king size bed slept wonderfully, and in fact, I didn't say one time while there that I can't wait to get to my own bed. That was a first!The shower-head was a dream. It had umph. And upon close inspection I found is a Delta, not some cheap throw-in. That shows the level of class the property managers are operating on. The kitchen is well-equipped with new appliances and just enough space to move about. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. The location of the building is prime, the parking was convenient, and the building facilities more than adequate.There are swim fins and lawn chairs to take to the beach on the balcony, and patio furniture out there to just sit and chill.In closing, I'd rate the unit a 6 out of 5 if I could. The humans at Captain Cook Property Management know what they are doing, and will be the first I look to for our return to the wonderful island of Oahu in the fall.

The unit was exactly as pictured. It was clean, had a beautiful view and everything we needed for a weeks stay. The beach towels and chairs were great to have. There was even a cooler and umbrella in the closet. We didn’t have a car and could access everything we needed. There’s a small market nearby (236 grocery) that had basic groceries. We walked to the beach everyday. We didn’t use the pool but it was very nice along with bbqs if you wanted to grill. Communication was clear and easy. We felt safe and would recommend this property!

This was a very nice place with a terrific view of the beach and within easy walking distance. The unit is very attractive with appropriate gear for the beach including a cart on wheels which was very handy. Parking was very accessible to the unit although it could be a little tight. The unit does not have a diswasher but that was a small price to pay for the attractive unit. One of the nicest vrbo rentals I have done. I was traveling by myself which afforded me plenty of room. It is not huge but well laid out. Perfect for two more might be pushing it a little but with the pull out couch can sleep six including two built in bunkers. Highly recommended

Wonderful location! Minutes away from anything we needed. The place was clean, the bed was very comfortable (one of the things I look for!), the towels were fluffy, and the unit was supplied with everything we needed. There were even chocolates! The only unfortunate thing was that there was remodeling going on in the unit upstairs, so jackhammering each day was annoying. But we were out most of the day doing stuff, so not a huge problem. The folks we interacted with on the front desk were very accomodating and the property manager was prompt in responding and VERY considerate.

Comes with everything you need to cook a simple meal so you can save a few dollars.Check-in could have been smoother. We stayed for 9 days and couldn’t have loved this condo more.The condo is beautifully remodeled and thoughtfully stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed including a coffee maker with filters, blender, pots, pans, Tupperware, and a water filter. We made most of our breakfasts and a few dinners with no issues. The couch was comfortable, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, which makes a big difference. The bathroom had great extras like a quality hair dryer with attachments, makeup towels, beach towels, laundry pods, and even bug spray and sunscreen. The patio also has a beach wagon, chairs, and an umbrella. We chose this unit over higher floors to avoid long elevator waits and were glad we did. Our favorite moment was walking in at check-in to music playing and a thoughtful Hawaiian treat basket from the host.The location ended up being perfect. It’s at the quieter end of Waikiki, making it easy to get in and out by car. The beach is a 5-minute walk and never felt too crowded. We walked to restaurants and shops most days. One night we took an 8 Uber to the far end of Kalakaua Ave and walked back, stopping at different bars and shops along the way. Our favorite nearby spot was Tikis Grill & Bar, and Duke’s Waikiki is also a must.Courtney was excellent with communication and clearly puts a lot of care into her guests’ experience. Would definitely stay again!
