Reviewer Portrait

The following executive summary is based on a comprehensive and impartial AI analysis of guest reviews. Keep in mind that all units are individually owned, and review scores among units can vary considerably.

Travelers consistently praise these Waikiki condos for their prime, walkable location and strong value versus hotels. Most units sit a 10–15 minute walk from the beach and close to Ala Moana, Hilton Lagoon, shops, and a lively food-truck scene. Many reviewers highlight secure buildings, easy elevator access to coin/app laundry, and lanais with lovely Ala Wai canal and mountain views (fun for watching outrigger canoes). Inside, the units are generally well equipped for longer stays—full kitchens, plenty of towels, beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, coolers), and often comfortable beds—making them especially convenient for families. Hosts and managers are frequently described as responsive, flexible, and proactive, with several guests noting smooth communication and helpfulness around late checkouts and small issues.

The biggest tradeoff is urban noise. This area is busy day and night, and older jalousie-style windows don’t insulate much, so traffic, sirens, and loud vehicles are a recurring theme; earplugs or running the bedroom A/C as white noise help many sleepers. The buildings themselves tend to be older; while a number of units are updated and very clean, others show wear or have occasional maintenance and housekeeping lapses (think dated bathrooms, scuffed finishes, or a ceiling tile that needs replacing). A/C performance varies by unit (some rely on portable units) and, rarely, an elevator or building system is down temporarily. Pools are small and more of a dip-than-destination.

Set expectations and you’ll likely have a great stay. If quiet is a priority or you want resort polish, these may not be the best fit; if you value space, a kitchen, and location, they’re a solid choice. Confirm parking before booking—some units include a secure spot (often compact or across the street), while others require paid garages—and clarify check-in details early to avoid late-night hiccups. Pack earplugs, consider a white-noise app, and enjoy the convenience: stroll to the beach, grab dinner at nearby food trucks, and start adventures with easy access to buses and highways.

Perfect location on a very nice one way street, I walked everywhere, so convenient.Parking spot across the street was great, my 2 sons live here so they were able to park when visiting me or when picking me up…the hosts were available via VRBO and responded to messages almost immediately, although I didn’t need to bother them as the check-in instructions were clear and simple. I started a month and it felt like home. The bed was so comfortable I slept better than at home even with some noise…excellent experience. Also we could see the Waikiki fireworks on Friday nights perfectly from the back balconyThank you so much Loan and Lewis

I stayed at the condo with my mother and my children. The walk to the beach was not too far. Having the food trucks near by was also nice. We didn’t spend too much time in the condo. Pretty much just to sleep and shower but it was perfect for us. We did want to cook at the condo more but there were little ants or something in the kitchen so we just ate out. The balcony door didn’t lock so keep littles away.

The location was great for shopping and food. The room was easy to get to being on the third floor. We are used to city noise, so being on a low floor didn't bother us. Our only issues were the drop tile ceiling in the bathroom could be cleaner and the A/C above the tiles was very loud and shaky. I had to lift a tile and wedge the shaking piece of the compressor in place in order not go crazy while inside. Note for the next guest: The WIFI name and password is listed on the router, it is not what is written on the welcome sheet.Overall, I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Oahu, but something to dampen the A/C compressor shaking and noise would go a long way.

Surprised how cool the condo stayed even in late summer. 7/11 is 50 steps away which was great. Only downside which they do mention is no easy parking. The garage we frequented was 45 per day which does add up. Great value for the area and we enjoyed our trip.

Location was perfect, the apartment was clean, everything we needed was available, the communication was good, one small point (and the owner can do nothing about it) it’s very loud on the streets during the night, specially in the weekends. Overall we had a perfect vacation at the condo.

Overall, this is a great place to stay in Waikiki. I would recommend it to friends and family if they were determined to stay in Honolulu.O'ahu, as a whole, is a bit overpriced as far as the islands are concerned, and I think it has to do with it being the biggest tourist destination. Unfortunately, this includes this property. I think the place should be charging maybe 80% of what it's charging now, but I could say the same for the whole island. This isn't a read on the owner - they are priced to market - just an observation for those considering O'ahu. The view of the ridge from the patio is lovely, and you can just make out the ocean from one of the bedrooms. Unfortunately, the ocean view bedroom also has the upper floors able to look into your room, so we opted to keep the curtains drawn. You are a 15 minute walk from Kahanamoku beach, which is an excellent spot outside of the Hilton Hawaiian Village, so ocean views are not really necessary. The place is well-stocked, and the onsite condo manager is quick to respond if you find anything is missing (we were missing trash bags). Laundry is shared by the floor and costs 6 per load (3 per wash, 3 per dry). We noticed some bugs, but this is to be expected on a tropical island. To reiterate: great place to stay, if a little overpriced for what you get. I can't give 5 stars because it didn't blow me away like a couple other places I've stayed, but I think the vast majority of travelers will be very pleased here.

Check-in was super easy. The accommodation was clean and well-equipped. The accommodation was in a great, central location. The shower fittings are broken. The toilet wobbles when used. It says there are three bedrooms online when booking, but there are only two. The third bed is in the living room. Not ideal for families with small children, as the husband is very concerned about traffic and noise.Balcony needs repairs

Convenient location for a great price! The host was very kind and accommodating and we liked having beach towels and accessories (and aloe) available for our stay, as well as a parking spot. The space is not large, but it was exactly what we needed and having the communal laundry right around the corner was convenient.

Monica was wonderfully responsive when we had questions. Comfortable beds, and unit was well-supplied with everything we needed for our stay. Thoughtful touches included disposable rain ponchos and beach towels. Loved the balcony with view of mountains and the canal.

We loved being able to walk to Waikiki Beach with the wagon full of thoughtfully provided beach gear. And we were right next door to terrific food trucks. Very convenient, and the hosts have numerous nice touches in their decor and hospitality. Thank you!

Great walkable location. Walked to Friday fireworks, Waikiki beach, stores, food and shopping. Having access to assigned parking was convenient also as parking in the area appeared to be very limited. Really enjoyed the units air conditioning. Property had plenty of "extra" items around (ie. coffee, shampoo, lotion, etc) in case you ran out or forgot something. Definitely appreciated the boogie boards, beach umbrellas, extra beach towels and camp chairs that were available for our use. Also, this unit was very close to an available washer/dryer. It was an end unit so there was not unknown foot traffic coming past our door and no next-door neighbors. You could see the ocean from the front door, and we had a great view of the canal from our balcony & living room. Balcony had table & chairs also. Excellent communication with the managers of this specific unit.

Dan is an excellent host. Very responsive to any issues. The place was clean, located in a good area that is in walking distance of pretty much anything you’d want to do in Waikiki. There were also a couple beach chairs, boogie boards and a cooler available which was great for going to the beach. We made use of the well-equipped kitchen to prepare breakfast and picnic lunches to take to the beach. Definitely great for those looking for a place that allows you to spread out a bit more than a hotel room.

Condo was great! Need to replace the missing window in the kitchen. Parking was awesome. Pool was very cold. Loved all the amenities in the residence. Site manager was fantastic! Appreciated the evening and night security person. Communication with owner was fast and accurate. She really cared. Loved the balcony and all the views. Close to everything.

July 2025

We had a great stay overall. The apartment was spotless, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The location is fantastic—close to everything we needed—and Dan was an excellent host, always responsive and very accommodating. One thing to be aware of: the building is right on a major road, and the windows don’t block out much noise. As light sleepers, my wife and I had a tough time getting rest at night due to street noise and occasional loud music from passing cars, especially late in the evening. If you’re a deep sleeper, this may not be an issue, but for anyone sensitive to noise, it’s worth considering. That said, everything else about the stay was wonderful, and Dan made the experience easy and welcoming.

We stayed for 8 nights in early July. Family of 4 with 18 and 22 year old. Dan the owner was extremely responsive and helpful. His description of the property is accurate. It is in a great location walking distance to the Food Pantry grocery and to quick markets as well as the food truck park. We also walked to the restaurants and shops about 15-20 min away for a nice evening meal and shopping. For car rental next door in the Monarch Hotel lobby you can rent through 808smartcar. They are a great deal and you get a deal on parking 25 instead of 50 dollars a night. The cars aren't the latest and greatest but they get you around. Our best part of the unit was the Balcony, roomy and breezy. Laundry is at the end of the hall. Beach supplies are great and we did use the chairs, we went to Waikiki beach which is about a 15 minute walk go further down behind the Army Museum ( a must visit and free!) the beach is nice there and has a great cocktail stand run by the military on the beach. Our favorite beach was Waimanalo Beach Park, lots of parking and a local gem.

The apartment had a few things wrong with it . The bed was unstable it was almost falling apart aswell as the remotes for the aircon and tv that was in the room which had no remote. The shutters on the windowa were faulty. Aswell as the aircon was not secure.

Location is wonderful - walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants.Communication with hosts is fabulous - plus the check in instructions were detailed and included pictures, and the book at the apartment upon our arrival was also helpful.Apartment was well-stocked, there were even ice cubes in the freezer when we arrived. We also appreciated the beach towels to borrow. We didn’t use the boogie boards, but there were some there. Bonus of a couple of welcome gifts that were also appreciated. We had rented a car, so appreciated having a FREE parking spot. We walked once we arrived. We didn’t use the laundry facilities, but there was a coin operated washer and dryer available on site. Both bedrooms had a/c which helped with the heat and also with the noise since it is a typical city apartment with typical Hawaiian slat windows. We only turned it on briefly, as we didn’t spend much time in the apartment, but it seemed to work well.Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

June 2025

Family of four stayed in this well equipped, centrally located property (10 min walk from Waikiki beach, 20 mins from Ala Moana centre). Building and parking felt very secure and the unit had everything we needed. The king size bed for us and separate beds for the kids was a treat. Owners were really responsive and helpful and clearly wanted people to be comfortable. Like others noted, the surroundings are very noisy, mostly due to loud vehicles on the main roads - perhaps pack earplugs if you are a light sleeper. That’s not the fault of the owners, but the reality of being in the centre of a city.

Good size & close to beach. About 10 min walk. Only complaint is the noise level. A lot of noise comes through the windows and doesn't stop till late at night. Other than that, overall the place was great.

It was an amazing place to stay great pool nearby; and allowed a late checkout for us since our flight didn’t leave til night. It can be a little nosey but you are in the middle of Wakiki so it makes sense.

Had a great time staying at Waikiki Cozy Apartment. Love having the food trucks so close and to be able to walk to everything in the Waikiki area. I agree with other guest that said the street noise is loud, but we wear ear plugs so we slept fine. Our host were amazing, always checking in and making sure everything was perfect. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!Jason from Colorado, go Buffs!!!!

We had a fantastic stay! There was a great view of the river and the mountains. The host was great and responded quickly to a question I had. There were beach supplies for us to use which was a great surprise! The building is very secure with a guard up front at all times. Highly recommend for families. It was a great alternative to paying for two hotel rooms. It was also within walking distance from the beach, shops, and restaurants. We rented a car for a couple of days to drive around the island, but we were good without the rental for the rest of the trip.

June 2025

Worked great for our family of 4 adults, with one sleeping on the on foldout couch. Great location for walking to a lot of eateries and the beach. Fairly noisy at all hours, the neighborhood doesn’t sleep! A/C works fine if you keep windows closed, curtains drawn, and bedroom doors open for circulation. Otherwise there isn’t enough of a cross beeeze from the windows being open to keep you cool at night.

June 2025

The parking was inconvenient and directions were terrible … the building itself was rough (no pictures included on the listing) … there was a used washcloth in the shower … there is a drop-down tile / filthy, dusty ceiling in the bathroom to hide an air conditioner (no bathroom pictures on the listing) … the air conditioner is SO loud it shook the walls and woke us up every night … the wifi listed was never found / offered on the list of options to connect to … AND we ran out of toilet paper!

Fabulous location at the gateway to Waikīkī. Close to Ala Moana park/beach, shopping center, Hilton Hawaiian Village/ Friday fireworks. Easy in and out of Waikīkī with less traffic. Two bedroom apartment on the tenth floor was perfect. Nice morning sun with beautiful views of Manoa valley and the Koolau mountains. A/C was perfect for a comfortable stay/sleep after a day in the sun. Would definitely stay here again. Hosts were fantastic, flexible and responsive when we had a last minute change. Would recommend.

The hosts are a delight. For the price, this was a heck of a deal. The building feels very safe, the amenities are lovely.A few things to note, this is Waikiki. It's loud. The windows are the slat type so expect ocean breezes to blow the blinds around. We had quite a few late night wake ups due to unexpected noises. That said, if you're looking for a budget friendly apartment that is close to ALL Waikiki has to offer, this is an excellent option.

April 2025

We came to the island for a wedding but wanted a place to be able to stretch out in with our family of 5 (3 kids ages 12,9,7) and this was the perfect spot. Close to so much stuff that we basically walked everywhere. No free parking, but a paid parking lot was close enough that we were able to leave our rental vehicle to places. There is a rental car place right there that we would probably use if we ever came to the island again. I absolutely recommend this location and we were sad to leave.
