Great location and view. Only thing was that the building only has 1 elevator working, and since this is a penthouse, it takes 5 minutes or so just for the elevator. Also there were roaches in the kitchen sink area.

The apartment has great views but is a bit rundown which doesn’t show in the pictures. We had leaky air conditioning units right from the start of our 3 week holiday. We had no air conditioning during the entire last week. The owner never apologized nor gave us any kind of compensation for us managing the numerous groups of people that tried to fix the air conditioning units. He just told us to reference the contract. All maintenance workers told us the air units had never been serviced. Also no refresh of towels or sundries during the 3 week holiday. Very disappointing experience!! DM if you want to see pictures.

Wow, this place is about as close to a true 5/5 experience as you can get. I stayed here for a week while attending a conference. It's a 12 minute walk to the conference center; a 20 minute walk from Waikiki; a 20 minute walk from Ala Moana mall--in short, this place is the definition of a "walkable" location in Honolulu. But there's more! You want to rent a car? The cheapest car rental place on the island (Island Car Rental) is based in this very building! You want to go diving? Aloha Scuba Diving moors it's boat directly across the street. Want to stay inside with friends? The hosts provide a copy of Exploding Kittens, which is always a hit. The room has an incredible view of Honolulu. And to top it all off, the toilet also has a bidet--perfect. This place almost instantly felt like home.I only had two cons for this place: Con 1) The ice machine in the freezer would not stop producing ice, even while it was overflowing resulting in ice constantly falling out of the freezer when you opened it. Yes, we tried raising the lever to stop it. No, that didn't work. Con 2) The water in the shower does not stay at a consistent temperature. It oscillates around wherever you put it, meaning that you will always be going from a little too hot to a little too cool in perpetual cycle while showering. I realize this is probably not under the owner's control, but it's worth mentioning.But don't let those cons deter you. The fact that those were the only downsides should highlight just how incredible of a place this was. If I travel back to Honolulu, I would try to get this specific place again!

Booked this place because it advertised for 4 people. We were on top of each other and had to live out of our suitcase due to lack of storage. There was no dishwasher which wasn’t a problem but they only had one dish towel. There is laundry/dryer on the floor but make sure you have money to use it. I was grateful we were only there for a weekend. This would be fine for two friends. The pillows could use pillow protectors as they were disgusting. There was blood on the mattress protector for the pull out sofa. Beds were uncomfortable and the walls/windows were really thin. It could also use a new paint job and a deep cleaning on the bathtub.

If I was asked to rate the room it would be 5 stars. The maintenance was questionable. At least one elevator didn’t work on several days. One day neither elevator worked and I needed to walk down 20 flights of stairs. The pool was fine. The jacuzzi worked for one day. Hubby and I loved this condo unit. Jack's communication was excellent! He provided a lot of info, recommendations, etc. The queen bed was comfortable. The AC worked well. The WiFi worked fine too. The kitchen was nicely equipped for our week long stay. The unit was very clean. The views from the lanai were marvelous (marina, lagoon, sunsets, etc.). The unit is on the north side of the building, so we found it to be surprising quiet for being right at the marina and above two restaurants. We went to the Harbor Pub and Charthouse restaurants (located below the condos in the same building) multiple times. Both restaurants have a great vibe and delicious food/drinks. Waikiki beach/shops are walking distance away, and lots of things to see. We watched the Friday night lagoon fireworks from the Harbor Pub. Parking was 33 a day, with in/out privileges, which was very convenient. We highly recommend Jack's condo unit.

This is not the fault of the owner but the very small lanai was closed for our visit and had been since 03/03. Workers would go up and down on a scaffold w/ bags of cement. Sitting at the table having morning coffee and turn to see some guy looking in the patio door at is no bueno. Would've been nice to watch the sunset from that lanai. When this work is done, I'd recommend this place.

This VRBO was a nice, simple place for my 10-days in Honolulu with a gorgeous view. It had the basic necessities, but for a longer stay, it felt a bit bare-bones. I had to purchase things like salt and pepper, and there were no extras like spices, condiments, Tupperware, or lotion. Only four K-cups were provided for the entire stay, which felt limited. It’s clearly set up more for short visits or guests not planning to cook much. I was out and about most days, really only coming back to sleep—but even so, I still felt like a few more basic supplies would have made a difference. Laundry was a bit of a hassle—no clear instructions, and the laundry card (eventually found on the door) was only loaded with 3. A single wash was 2.75 and drying 2.25, but the app required a 10 minimum to reload. I ended up air drying my clothes to avoid the extra cost. On the plus side, the property was nice, parking was easy, and the pool was quiet. The provided beach gear was a great bonus and really appreciated! There were a few inconveniences like slow elevators (one was broken for a few days), a day with water shut off, and two days of pool closures for maintenance—not the host’s fault, just something to note. Overall, a nice stay—comfortable, clean, easy/walkable area and good communication—just could use a few small touches to feel a bit more homey.

This property is in an excellent location. There are grocery stores: Food Pantry {2 1/2 blocks away} and ABC Superette {1 block away}. The bathroom is spacious with excellent lighting. The bed is comfy. These are the Pros. The Cons are it is a noisy unit due to live music from the Chart House. If you are young and are out until 10:00 - 11:00 pm, then you are golden. If you plan to in for the night by 8:00 pm then there will be loud street noise until after 11:15 pm. The Host knows this as there is a noise canceling machine, plus 2 pair of ear plugs next to the bed. In addition, the Lanai was closed due to Maintenance Repairs. It had been under repair since March 11th, but the owner didn’t bother to share this information. For a May 2 - 4th booking, this would have been nice to know.

The location right next to Waikiki beach and the marina was great. We loved the corner window for that beautiful view. The furnishings were very nice. The kitchen was well equipped. The bed was comfortable. Everything was clean. Our only problem was wild swings in shower temperatures that ranged from scalding to freezing. I’m not sure what could be done. Maybe it’s a building problem. I would definitely stay here again if I found myself in Honolulu.

We were disappointed that the "lanai" was off limits due to ongoing remodeling on the building's exterior, but the owner/manager graciously offered a nominal refund. We needed accessible accommodations and this worked nicely for us. For this holiday my mom was using her ewheelchair and a rented rollator. She was able to move about without issue. The condo had all the amenities just like a hotel. The bonus for us was the washer and dryer. The condo was a perfect location for walks along Waikiki or exploring the rest of Oahu by car. We loved our stay and the condo was a big part of that. If I had any questions, and I did, the Host was easy to contact and all my questions were answered promptly. I highly recommend this listing.

Staying at the Ilikai Marina was a great choice. There were 3 chairs available for the beach, beach towels, and plenty of bathing towels. The bed is incredibly comfortable. The view out of the lanai is gorgeous and right on the marina. Great location and you can walk to many things, including the beach of course. Unfortunately, after booking the Vrbo, we were informed the lanai would be under construction and we were offered a cancelation or discount and opted for the discount. I’m still glad we stayed here especially after the reasonable discount, however I will note the lanai is the only way you can “open a window.” The window in the bedroom cannot be opened, so we were sad when we stayed that we couldn’t open up anything for a breeze! Small price to pay for an otherwise great space.

All in all, the beachview condo would have been a pretty sweet pace... but, for the entire 2 week stay, construction on the building was going on and the prized tiny Lanai was completely unavailable. Closed Due to Construction! We could not even open the door to hear the ocean or et fresh air! The workers were going up and down in front of the Lanai at all hours and the Hammer drills were obnoxious, you couldn't even hear the television! The ad stated it had a grill on the balcony that was an obvious misstatement and was the very reason we chose this condo because of our special diet. The rugs.. including the bathroom rug are absolutely filthy and grossed me out to walk on them. Netflix would not connect on the television as stated in the binder. The attention to detail in the binder of instructions was incredible except for how to properly operate the shower. We didn't use the beach toys so I can not comment on them, but for children it would be awesome. I feel like I should receive at least a partial refund for the inconvenience of the work being done on the building and the Lanai being closed. We should have been warned and given an opportunity to change our plans!

Couple things..The shower goes from extreme hot to extreme cold..A hand held shower would work better. The soaker tub was not working so was mislead on that as it was advertised on VRBO. Very noisy. There is a pub on the main floor alots of traffic with revving of motorbikes and cars..The windows are likely the original windows. Remy is an excellent communicator and took care of anything we needed (which was just to add parking because of our last-minute plans). I chose this property for the easy walk to the convention center, and it was great - 10 minute walk. The property is accurately photographed in the listing and very clean, updated and has everything you need - towels, kitchen goods, AC, a small but adorable balcony looking out on the marina. It was much more modern than other rentals I've stayed in. 4 people could stay probably, but it was just me and it was just the perfect amount of space. Noise is minimal, which I enjoyed compared to staying in the middle of Waikiki. I went into Waikiki everyday taking the path along the beach and it is a lovely 15 minute walk. There is no washer/dryer in the unit but it is available on another floor. I did miss having access to a fitness facility but for everything that this place offers, the stay was totally worth it. Very affordable and reasonable compared to staying in hotels, in my opinion. The property manager was readily available and helpful, making the overall stay a very pleasant, seamless, effortless process. The neighbors pretty much left me alone if I ran into them. The only thing I questioned was the lone single deadbolt lock on the front door of the apartment, which is code-accessed going in and out. However, I think every unit in the building has this format, so I doubt there's anything that can be done.

For this panaramic view, WOW. Amazed I got such an amazing price too. It had all I needed space and amenity wise. Close to a lot of restaurants and attractions. Loved the parking was included too.Sadly there was this awful incident that happened. I had an unexpected visitor barge in on my stay. The nerve of this stranger had me talking the host's ear off but I was valid for my response. Because it happened on my 2nd day, it made me worry the rest of my stay. Thankfully there were no more issues. Also the shower was a bit small for my tastes.Overall this stay was good. If I wasn't unpleasantly surprised, this stay woulda been perfect. It has taught me to bring some kinda door stopper or nosiemaker to alert me if anything comes in unannounced. Hope no one else runs into what I did.
