We had a wonderful stay here. We loved starting our day sitting on the balcony, and it was the perfect spot to watch the sunset. It was so fun whale watching from the beach, and there were plenty of places that we could walk to for lunch or dinner. There was easy parking right out front, and we were close to lots of other beaches and restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again!

Enjoyed a few days here. Unit is as described and provides what you need. The location is prefect, spent hours watching whales, and generally relaxing on the lanai. Good pool and the easiest access to the beach. Only thing to note is it is a three story walk up but the stairs aren’t that bad, even for an older person like me with bad ankles.

Really nicely laid out unit. Always a view of the waves! We enjoyed the beach and the grass before the beach and had fun playing shuffleboard on top of that. That one was a new one for us. Only negative isn't the owner's fault, but there is a rooster across the street who likes to let everyone know that it will be dawn in about 3 hours. Highly recommend for families and especially young kids. The water is very shallow for a very long way. Good house communication would not hesitate to recommend.

There are extra blanket in case you get chilly, extra pillows and looked like they even had a portable crib and high chair if you're bringing a little one.
Beach is right there. Pool is small, but it does the job if you don't want to dip into the ocean, and the lawn area was great to pull the lounge chairs out on and read in the shade of the Palm trees.
If we do this again, and we will, we will come back and would highly recommend it!

This is our second visit to this unit in 6 months. We loved the unit itself as well as the proximity to the beach and pool and particularly being on the ground floor. This complex is very low key and quiet, which is exactly why we like it. It also makes it easy to meet and talk to people, many of whom were the owners. The unit is very well equipped for a comfortable stay. We will be looking to re-book this unit again next fall.

My spouse and I came to celebrate my 40th birthday, with our the kids! This property was more than we expected. The view and proximity to the beach exceeded our expectations; the pictures on the post don’t do it justice.
Nothing was a far drive 10 min in any direction had everything we needed. Of course we chose to venture farther too.

![Hale Kai O Kihei Unit]()
This was our first time staying in Kihei. For our previous visits to Maui we stayed in the Kaanapali/Lahaina area. We booked this condo based on the 5 star ratings on VRBO. The condo was nicely furnished, the bed was very comfortable and the sofa was nice and firm (compared to other places at where the sofa are really soft with no support). The sunsets on the lanai were amazing and the condo was well stocked with everything you would need. Very fluffy towels, plenty of pillows and blankets, beach supplies, spices and cooking oils, pots/pans, etc. Very convenient walking distance to Times Supermarket and restaurants.
A couple of things to note:
1. There is a coin-operated laundry on the first floor (bring $7 in quarters $2 for the washer, $3 for the dryer, and $1 each for detergent and fabric softener). The condo did have laundry detergent while we were there.
2. You will have to pay 100% of the rental price when booking (we have never had to do this before - most hosts charge 1/3 or 1/2 upon booking and the rest closer to the arrival date. We booked 11 months in advance and had to pay the full cost upfront).
3. There is one airconditioner in the living room. However the bedroom does get quite warm, even with a ceiling fan.
4. The place is comfortable for a couple, or a couple with one or two small children. There is not much closet space.
Overall, a nice place to stay and a quiet location. We walked on the beach, saw sea turtles, and had a very relaxing time.

We stayed here for about a week with our 1 year old. We wanted somewhere nice to stay with a good view given that we knew we would be spending a good deal of time in our room with naps and such for the baby. Pictures are very accurate and the view from the room is perfect. Sunsets from the balcony are gorgeous. The building looks a little motel-y from the road but this unit is in great shape, is well appointed and maintained.
The beach is probably less than 50 yards from the building. The beach is a little short depth wise so there’s not a ton of room but once you’re in the water you can walk out a very long ways which is neat. There was also a lot of neat beach combing here with lots of coral wash up. Waves we fairly calm here even on windier days so a good spot for kids or those less comfortable with the surf.
The room had everything we needed for cooking. and was well equipped for our baby as well with a pack and play with sheets as well as a high chair. It also has all the beach gear you might need, chairs coolers, towels and umbrellas. The only thing we missed is the fridge is not equipped with and ice maker so be sure to grab a bag of ice from the store.
I had a few questions for the host both before and during our stay and they were very quick to respond on both occasions.
Over all very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this unit especially if you are going to spend a little more time than usual in your room like we did.

Property and location is perfect - however, we had disruption of our visit due to maintenance of the exterior of the property (2 days staining exterior door which needed to be kept open, 2 days parking lot line painting, and about a week due to refinishing stone tiles). The owner was lovely and very apologetic but I explained we came for rest and relaxation and the maintenance work negatively impacted our experience. One of the other owners shared that they want to get the maintenance done when they have the owner's gathering during the first few weeks of November. We stayed in the same place last year in early November and did not have this experience. We were disappointed this year as we had such a peaceful and quiet experience the previous year.

This is a cute condo and fine for a couple or single person. The kitchen and amenities are good and the bed comfortable, though I had to wash the sheets in unscented detergent as they had a sickly floral smell which gave me a headache. They need new towels as well, and to deal with the ants which were pervasive in the kitchen. That said, it was incredibly easy to get in touch with their property manager who did their best to remedy the ants. I live on a marsh so know how hard it can be to deal with them, and she did her best. The beach is great for long walks, but it is not a swimming beach -- good for a quick dip, but rough and tough to see the lava rocks. For a swim/snorkel you'll need to go south a bit.
What I did like was this condo was out of the way of uber touristy parts and very quiet. The people who stayed there were friendly. I appreciated the property manager and ease of arriving and departure. Expect an older building with its issues, but for the price, considering Hawaii's prices, worth the cost.

The condo complex is an older building in a quieter area. Our unit has had some renos, new flooring, kitchen opened up a bit. The living area is comfortable, although we spent most of our waking hours on the lanai whenever we were in the complex. Can’t beat the views. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bed is comfy. Appreciate the little things, like the power bar on both sides of the bed to plug your chargers in. The unit is air conditioned, but we mainly used the fans. There’s a pull down blind on the lanai to block the sun. Beach chairs are provided, but we mainly pulled loungers from near the pool area out onto the grass in the shade of the palms. The pool and grounds are well maintained. The beach is very close, and it’s a nice beach for a long walk.
No laundry in the room, but there’s a communal (paid) laundry area. Only downside (if you care) is that the bedroom is not walled in, it’s right as you open the door.
We were lucky to meet the owners who have a second condo there, and they were very helpful in their recommendations.
If you like a quieter place, this is great. We loved the location. Grocery store very close as well as some restaurants. There are also BBQs.

Roopa and Josef were terrific hosts! Communication was excellent. They knew just a bit about the reason for our trip and left such a nice personalized welcome note. Everything was in great condition and well stocked. Many thoughtful touches to make this a great home for vacation. The bathroom and floors were just remodeled and we loved the vibe of the unit. The beach was very chill. Perfect if you want a quiet stretch of sand to relax on. The turtles that would come up must have thought so also! Plus it’s always nice when beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, beach towels, and beach toys are supplied. We hope to rent from Roopa and Josef eventually again during whale season. The views!!! We stayed on our deck for all 11 nights of sun sets, and even saw the full moon set on the water in the early morning. The newly remodeled bathroom was very well done and the unit was in great shape with a wonderful modern Hawaiian feel. The hosts were great and responsive by text or call anytime. We will be back. The condo is equipped with all kitchen needs and nice outdoor BBQ. They supplied all the beach equipment you could want. The complex is very well maintained, clean and safe. The beach is great for long walks, but it is not a swimming beach -- good for a quick dip, but rough and tough to see the lava rocks. For a swim/snorkel you'll need to go south a bit.
What I did like was this condo was out of the way of uber touristy parts and very quiet. The people who stayed there were friendly. I appreciated the property manager and ease of arriving and departure. Expect an older building with its issues, but for the price, considering Hawaii's prices, worth the cost.

I am originally from Maui and moved to Hilo, Hawaii a few years ago. I was visiting friends for the weekend and this was the perfect condo for me. It was all as described and much more. The location, views, serenity, and comfort were stellar. The remodel, furnishings, and decor are impressive. I will book again on my next visit to Maui.

My husband and I found this condo to be perfect for our honeymoon getaway. The location is perfect - just in walking distance to our favorite coffee shop and others restaurants. The view from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking. We especially loved having the private beach right at our fingertips. Our host, Joe, was easy to reach and provided a clean and special space for our special trip. We would come back in a heartbeat!

This is a perfect property to stay at while visiting Maui. The location is outstanding - full ocean view with daily sunsets. Quiet beach with beautiful sand and we were lucky enough to see turtles every day. The property is impeccably maintained by a live in manager who clearly takes pride in the grounds. The unit itself was fabulous! Comfortable bed, bright and clean bathroom and kitchen, clean and tasteful linens and decor, lovely living room and lanai perfect for morning coffee and evening wine. The pictures are an accurate representation of the unit. It is fully stocked with all appliances and kitchen tools to make using the kitchen easy. It also came with beach chairs, umbrellas and snorkelling gear which was great. Joe the owner was amazing to deal with - he was easy to contact, very accommodating and very friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Property was gorgeous, finishes were great, it felt very high end and well designed. Location was ridiculous, walk around the building and you at are at the beach. Beach was so pretty and very family friendly ans you can walk so far out and still be waist deep. We absolutely loved everything about it and would not want to stay anywhere else when we come back. Thanks for the hospitality and thoughtfulness. if i could give it 6+ stars I would.

The property was better than expected. Super clean, high quality features and decor, gorgeous view, steps to a healthy & private beach, and a very short walk to shops, restaurants, grocery and more. We even happened to be here for Fourth Fridays, a community event in the shopping center with live music, food trucks, vendors and more. Our only disappointment was that the beach is not good for snorkeling. We highly recommend!

The condo was well appointed and updated nicely. The check-in/out process was seemless. Parking was easy and close to the unit. The views and access to the beach were even better than I thought. Sunsets were gorgeous. Would absolutely stay here again!

Good location to walk to food and shopping. The sunsets were very nicely framed over the ocean with palm trees and gorgeous light. Overall priced seemed a little steep given the size and worn condition of the unit but the owners have made arrangements for upgrades that will help.

The location and occur management was great but the property itself needs a better AC system and could use a little bit of TLC. The windows don’t fully shut and the curtain blocks the AC. If sitting out on the balcony, the AC unit is very loud so doesn’t make for a peaceful place and hard to hear others.

It has a beautiful view and is so quiet. It also has everything you’d need to take to the beach…although, we didn’t find the boggie boards until after we’d already rented some. No worries though…we could have reached out and asked and just didn’t. It was central to shopping and food places. (Nutcharees..oh my heavens…so good! ..and dangerously close.) We loved that although we had our own beach right out the door, we were also an easy distance to other beaches. The lack of AC, wasn’t an issue to us even though my hubbie has a pretty low tolerance for heat. However, we were here in October, so maybe it was cooler anyway?? None the less, we’d for sure stay again!

It was amazing and paradise with the beach just a few feet away. Conveniently located and safe! Sea turtles on the beach out front!
One negative: the onsite guy who gave me quarters for laundry flicke me my head because i didn't know how to put the two rows of quarters in the washer...needless to say my husband immediately went down to speak to him. His excuse? 'He's Italian".smh. Condo beautiful and clean too. Reserved parking spot.

This was our 2nd time in this unit which has had a very nice 're-do' of the FORMER 1970's look since our last visit! We like the building location because it's near a shopping center, but right on the ocean and off the busy main road in Kihei. Easy beach access. Only adverse item is the lack of a blackout shade on entry door window and wall windows in bedroom to block morning sun - for those who are light-sensitive in the morning. No AC in this unit, but ceiling and floor fans keep air moving nicely. Bed and furniture is very comfy, and unit has all necessary items for cooking...including the new frying pan we left cuz the original 10" one had a rounded bottom and didn't work properly on the glass surface stove!

The location is totally excellent. The property is very well maintained, and Christina was very supportive. the beach location could not have been any better. Close to the Condo, nice sand, many turtle sittings and the sunsets were most magnificent right from the Lanai. Peaceful quiet, good neighbors, made many new friends, and The care taker was not only good at his job but was very informative concerning the local area and things to see. It was a trip planned tor a long time and for me and my family it was a dream trip come true.. Thank you it was fabulous.. Allen

We enjoyed this little condo for our trip. Centrally located to get around the entire island and also located close to food, shops, and beaches. Lanai view and beach right outside are nice and quiet. Stay included a cooler, beach towels, and beach chairs. No umbrella or snorkel gear was provided. All linens provided and even included some travel size toiletries along with sunscreen, aloe, and hairspray. Unit does have an A/C, but there is only one located in the living area/kitchen so the bedroom and bathroom can get warm sometimes. We were comfortable, but for folks that like a very cold room when they sleep, this is not it. Overall, great place and would stay here again!

I can’t say enough good things about this listing. Joe’s place is right on the beach with spectacular views and amazing sunsets. Very clean and immaculate and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. The location in Kihei was a bonus, Plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store less than a block away. We would definitely stay here again!!

I stayed for one week with my husband and we didnt want to leave! Wow, what a great experience we had! The views from the lanai were breathtaking! The ocean looks closer than even the pictures show. Anita was amazing at answering all of our questions. Fantastic communication! She is so personable and helpful. We loved her. The guest guide she put together is amazing. It has everything you'd ever want to know about or do in Maui. The condo had everything we needed and more than we ever expected. Some starter coffee & filters. Butter, oil, spices for cooking, suntan lotion, etc. Even laundry detergent & dryer sheets! We were very impressed. Lots of stuff had labels so it made it easy to find and put back. Anita is very organized & it was appreciated! We loved how close by shopping, restaurants & the grocery store were. The condo was clean and cozy and the AC worked great. Very quiet. The sunsets from the lanai were gorgeous. Saw a sea turtle on the beach right out front while sun bathing. The beach was perfect and not crowded the whole week. This was our favorite vacation we've ever had. Our second stay in Maui. We will be back to stay at this wonderful condo. If I could I'd give it 10 stars. Fabulous! Thank you to the wonderful hosts!

Check in process was extremely easy and the location could not be beat. Walking distance to shops and restaurants was great. Location, access to beach and view from patio could not be beat. The condo worked great for our needs.
The AC unit is in the living room, there is no AC unit in the bedroom itself. They do have tower fans and a ceiling fan in the bedroom and windows that can open but it was still warmer than we are used to.
