Live Upcountry Maui and had our son visiting for Christmas Break, so thought we'd start his vacation off at the beach.
Very nice, clean, well stocked condo that looks like it recently was remodeled. Kitchen has everything you need: Coffee maker (there are a lot of coffee filters currently lol!), blender, InstaPot and fully stocked pots, pans and dishes. Beds, including the pullout couch according to the 23 year old, were very comfortable. There are extra blanket in case you get chilly, extra pillows and looked like they even had a portable crib and high chair if you're bringing a little one.
Beach is right there. Pool is small, but it does the job if you don't want to dip into the ocean, and the lawn area was great to pull the lounge chairs out on and read in the shade of the Palm trees.
If we do this again, and we will, we will come back and would highly recommend it!

We stayed here for about a week with our 1 year old. Pictures are very accurate and the view from the room is perfect. Sunsets from the balcony are gorgeous. The building looks a little motel-y from the road but this unit is in great shape, is well appointed and maintained.
The beach is probably less than 50 yards from the building. The beach is a little short depth wise so there’s not a ton of room but once you’re in the water you can walk out a very long ways which is neat. There was also a lot of neat beach combing here with lots of coral wash up. Waves we fairly calm here even on windier days so a good spot for kids or those less comfortable with the surf.
The room had everything we needed for cooking. and was well equipped for our baby as well with a pack and play with sheets as well as a high chair. It also has all the beach gear you might need, chairs coolers, towels and umbrellas. The only thing we missed is the fridge is not equipped with and ice maker so be sure to grab a bag of ice from the store.
I had a few questions for the host both before and during our stay and they were very quick to respond on both occasions.
Over all very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this unit especially if you are going to spend a little more time than usual in your room like we did.

The property was better than expected. Super clean, high quality features and decor, gorgeous view, steps to a healthy & private beach, and a very short walk to shops, restaurants, grocery and more. We even happened to be here for Fourth Fridays, a community event in the shopping center with live music, food trucks, vendors and more. Our only disappointment was that the beach is not good for snorkeling. We highly recommend!

We had planned to stay in West Maui as we had numerous times in the past. When that canceled we decided to look into Kihei and found Joe’s unit. We were apprehensive as we had never stayed in Kihei but we chose well. It is a well stocked well maintained unit. Joe was super responsive to any inquiries and it’s clear he cares about his guests and his unit. It’s right on the ocean, no road or wires in the way, just the dunes and the waves. There was a nice little pool too and the grounds were lovely. It’s quiet yet within walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and other shopping. Nice condo in a super location. We will return!

On my flight to Maui, I was chatting with an older gentleman who lives on the island. Multiple times he warned me “don’t fall in love”. I responded politely, but thought to myself “yeah, yeah. I live in South Florida. Beautiful women are a dime a dozen”.
The moment I arrived at the Hale Kai O Kihei property, opened the blinds and stepped out onto the balcony, I immediately realized the old man was not warning me about falling in love with a woman, he was warning me about falling in love with the island.
The property was perfect. Zero complaints. Read all the other 5 star reviews if you want to learn about property.
Kihei is the perfect little town. It has small town vibes with a slight tourist influence. No major tourist traps here. All along the SW coast is perfect for experiencing Maui’s tropical waters. Surfing and kayaking in Kihei and world class shore diving in Wailea-Makena. Clear water full of beautiful coral and curious marine life. Sea turtles galore. These waters put the Florida Keys to shame.
My main purpose for this review is to let people know MAUI IS OPEN. The island cries for Lahaina. The town is destroyed, but it’s a very small area. The rest of Maui is drowning as the media scares tourist away from the island.
Come visit. Experience the magic for yourself. But I have you warn you, don’t fall in love.

Unfortunately we stayed the week of the Lahaina fire. We were south of fires, but it was an extremely scary and sad week for entire Maui Island. Despite that tragic event, the condo was wonderful. They have everything you need for your stay. Beach chairs, umbrellas, even yetti cups and coolers. We didn’t feel
Right about be venturing island and stayed because we had business on Big Island the following week. We made the best out of it. Eating local to support islanders.
The place is decorated very tasteful with beachy vibe, it was extremely clean and property was well maintained.
Beach is small, but it was so secluded. We spent our nights under the stars listening to waves crash.
It was close to many shops and restaurants. I would totally recommend this condo and would definitely stay here again. Mahalo!

I can't say enough good things about our stay in Kihei! This condo was everything we wanted and more. The view was glorious! Great location--just steps from the beach and within 2 minutes walking distance to great restaurants, coffee shop, and a grocery store. We really appreciated the welcoming gifts. The condo had everything we needed and more and I mean everything-- beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards, fully stocked kitchen, extra linens, towels, and pillows, a/c, hair dryer, clothes steamer, fully functioning kitchen, toiletries, etc. Washer and dryer available within the complex, but not in the unit if that's something you are looking for. The condo complex was very clean, quiet, and safe. Our unit was completely remodeled and it was so cute! It was very hot during our visit and we were grateful to have a/c in the condo. Thanks for everything--we can't wait to come back!

Was in Kihei for my moms 94 th birthday- she has lived in Kihei for over 40 years. We had a family home that we used to stay at in Maui Meadows, but my mother is now in an assisted living here on Maui & we wanted to find something that was close to her. We found it at your beautiful place. We loved having coffee in the morning on the lanai & watching the sunset. You had everything you could possibly need for a wonderful time. Even binoculars to see the sea turtles which we did see. Look forward to many more visits to your lovely place in the future. Thank you for making it a special birthday & visit.

We only stayed for 1 night but it was amazing. Loved that it was beachfront. The building was a little dated but inside of the condo was beautiful, modern and had everything we needed. All with the unit was great! only reason 4 star is the homeless man that lives on the street right outside the place. Have seen him urinate daily right on the sidewalk, no cares at all. He does pick up his garbage tho.

Great stay on the beach at this immaculate and perfectly appointed condo. Wouldn’t change a thing. Pro tip: walk about 1/4 mi. north up the beach after sunset to watch the turtles come ashore - we saw as many as 25 hauled out on the beach.

For anyone that is considering you must look at staying at Hale O Kai Kihei. The property is amazing with a quiet beach literally at the back door and the view from the lanai lets you see whales all day. This particular unit was amazing with a modern relaxed feel that felt like home. I hesitate giving it too nice a review because it feels like this is a hidden gem that I want to keep for myself. Honestly the only thing that we didn’t like was having to leave, could stay here forever!

The Condo is situated in the best location. Saint Theresa Catholics Church is just a short block away. I was able to attend mass there.
The view from the balcony was wonderful and you could have a walk on the beach. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean. I would definitely like to return to Maui and stay there again.

Great condo in very convenient location; updated, very clean and fully stocked condominium. Right on the water with beautiful sunsets nightly. Beach is a bit rocky but just a short 10 min drive south to better sand beaches or snorkel sites. We appreciated all of the beach amenities (chairs, umbrella, towels, boogie board) to play in the water. The condo location is perfect... out of the busy touristy areas, yet just short drive to West or South Maui attractions. We would highly recommend this wonderful condo.

The condo is spacious, immaculately clean, modern, and beautiful. Lot's of families in the building, yet not noisy at all. Beautiful big homes next door on the same beach. The building is a bit outdated, so when you drive up, you may feel discouraged. DON'T! It's VERY clean, right on the beach, quiete yet with families enjoying the beach and sunsets. The BEST sunsets I saw on the entire island. We even canceled our dinner reservations one night and ordered the famous breaded fish from Da Kitchen (A MUST) so we wouldn't miss the sunset. You are so close to activities and Wailea. I would 100% stay here again. Great location near restaurants, many famous beaches, and activities!

This condo is literally so beautiful! The pictures are real! You open the sliding door and BAM there is the ocean! It’s so nice to be able to grab the chairs provided and walk downstairs to the ocean, with a beautiful soft beach! A turtle even came up to greet us in the ocean just fifty yards out! The water stays shallow for a while so you can just walk and walk and walk into the ocean!
The condo is a GREAT location to all the best food on Maui! We ate at all of the best ones within a 5 minute drive (you could walk, it’s not our vibe.)
The condo itself is exactly as pictured, it’s nice to have the private bedroom in the back and there are 2 air conditioners which both work great! The pull out bed in the couch was great when wanting to take a nap with the sound of the ocean.
LITERALLY STOP LOOKING AND BOOK THIS CONDO! You will not regret it AND all your friends will want to know where you stayed!!

I wish I had more time to write about this wonderful place. Some many thoughtful details. Really well stocked, has everything you might need (minus actual groceries). The AC in the bedroom was great. Even though it’s a small place, it doesn’t feel cramped. The view is spectacular, so much so that people gather outside to watch the sunset (even non-guests). We spent most of our time on the back patio. The beach is great, private, nice for a long walk. There is an area with rocks not far away, my young son made us take him every morning to watch the crabs. Lots of towels, good shower. The whole place is very cozy. The bed is pretty hard, in case that’s an issue for someone. But really nothing to complain about. Highly recommend.

Joe communicated promptly and informatively. The location can’t be beat, with proximity to stores and restaurants. The second floor enabled us to see lots of whales and the turtles up on the beach were a real plus. The unit includes complete kitchenware, bedding for the comfy sofa bed, beach towels, etc. It’s a great place!

I didn't not know about this gem. Such a beautiful place and when I say thank you for any added amenities I really mean it. From little things to spices individually wrapped to q-tips etc. Everything that we forgot we were stressing on having to re buy but because little details like that. It made our trip that much better. I really appreciated the door to the bedroom that closed off so that if we cooked the cooking smell wouldn't leak into the bedroom. The view was beautiful as well as the place. Little details like the instant pot and minimal decorations is was really made this place feel like home away from home. Thank you

One of the nicest condos we have stayed in, tastefully & beautifully decorated. Stocked with coffee, creamer, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry pods, garbage bags. This is a recently renovated - major nice upgrades - 1 bedroom condo that is literally 200 feet from the beach that extends for miles. All new appliances, 2 mini-split Mitsubishi AC/Heaters, new kitchen cabinetry, granite countertops, etc. Major sea turtle sightings on the beach every day. Convenient to the shops in Kihei and Wailea. Very accurate listing and Joe was fantastic to work with. I highly recommend this condo.

The condo is just as it appear in the photos - modern, clean, bright, well appointed with beach access just steps away and ocean and sunset views from the lanai and the main living space. We even saw whales breaching from our lanai! Joe the host has thought of every last detail and offers amenities beyond what you could imagine - everything from an instapot to a curling iron, first aid kit to beach chairs and umbrellas and beyond. The views are gorgeous and we watched the sunset from our lanai or the beach (steps away) every night. The location was very central to our plans and what we wanted to do and see. I enjoyed drinking my coffee on the lanai each morning and watching the boats roll out from Maalaea Harbor in the distance. You will be calm and content here, so book it!

The unit is beautiful. Recently remodeled, done well, and clean. The location is great for what I was looking for, which was waterfront, on a nice beach, quiet, and clean. It checked all of those boxes for me. The downsides are that I could see how it could be noisy if other guests onsite are loud. Sound from the parking lot easily penetrates the bedroom windows, which is too bad. Thankfully it seems like this is probably not an issue very often, and wasn't one when I was there. I would stay here again.

The condo was great!! It was clean, had everything we needed and more. Full kitchen setup plus everything you need for a day on the beach. The building is a little older but don’t let that stop you. The property is well maintained and clean. The condo is updated and in excellent condition.
NO bugs!! It may not sound like much but Hawaii is a tropical island and bugs are very common. So it is noticeable when we go and DON’T see any in out room/condo.
The location was perfect with multiple great restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite sushi on the island (Miso Phat) is only 5-7min walk. There is also a food truck park only a 10min walk. Plus several other good restaurants and a multiple we didn’t try.
We found ourselves rushing back to the condo early every evening so we could watch the sunset. By far our highlight of the vacation was sitting out on the lanai having a local beer or cocktail and watching the sunset.
We will definitely try to book this condo again for our next Maui vacation.

Our stay in Maui was nothing short of amazing. The location of the property is central to dining and all of the major attractions. Beachfront access provided the most beautiful views morning, noon and night. The property is well appointed with all of the essentials... Everything we needed for a perfect beach day was also provided. To top off our stay, Joe, the property owner, was very accommodating and ensured that all of our needs were met! We'd definitely stay here again if the opportunity ever presented itself. 5

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful and clean condo right on the water. Waking up to the sounds of the ocean and watching the sun set every evening out on the balcony made for a quintessential Hawaiian stay. We would totally come back!

This place was absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect for our needs: beach, food trucks, restaurants, church, groceries. The condo’s decor was modern and very comfortable. We’ve enjoyed sunset dinners from the porch- views are amazing. The hosts provided for all our needs. We will definitely let our friends know about this place and look forward to staying here again next time we’re in Maui!!! Mahalo.

Amazing condo perfect for 2-4 people. Wonderfully appointed, an amazing view being on the 2nd floor, super easy parking situation as it's not open to the public, steps away from the beach access/front, west facing to catch sunsets from the balcony and even tons of turtles hanging out at the beaches in front while we were there (respect them)!
Stocked with everything you need for a stay (tons of bedding, kitchen equipment, beach gear etc.) The bed is very comfortable, pullout couch for kiddos, AC kicks which is very important coming in from a sun filled day at the beach
Very conveniently and important for us it was located and walking distance within a block or 2 to: a Times grocery store; resatuarnats like Nalu, Miso Phat, food truck park, shave ice stand and many more more; local coffee spot Akamai.
Kihei can get very windy especially during afternoons but Joe's spot here is the perfect place to slow things down to island time and take in the ocean view 24/7. A true place to unwind, kick back and relax and not have to deal w/ the hustle and bustle of the West side while remaining an easy enough drive to get to the West side when you want. 100% looking forward to staying at Joe's place again. He was extremely fast and communicative when we reached out w/ any questions...basically the perfect host. Again...don't think, just do! Just don't book when we want too ;)

This was a lovely property! This was my first time in a rental property and my first time in Maui. The condo was so nicely furnished and it included everything you could possibly need, including tide pods to do your laundry! The owner thought of everything that would make your stay comfortable. I would definitely book this condo again and again. It’s location is prime and close to all major highways and Kihei area is so cute, you feel like a local. The stunner is the lanai, it was the best part of my vacation.

Joe's condo in Kihei is spectacular and incredible convenient if you're trying to explore the island. If you're trying to hit the beach and kick back, look no further than the backyard right off the lanai. Joe has beach equipment right there for your enjoyment - beach chairs, snorkel gear, umbrellas, towels, etc. Early morning beach walks, afternoon swims, nightly strolls are all right there at your finger tips.
If you're looking for adventure, you can easily access all that Maui has to offer from this spot. My girlfriend and I ventured to Haleaokala, Hana, Wailuku, Makena Beach, Wailea, and Lahaina all from this great home base. We can't wait to come back!

We opted for Joe's place over a high end resort and we were so glad we did! Location was great, close to everything we needed and the updates to this place made it feel way nicer than any hotel room and saved us a ton! We'd absolutely stay here again.
