The condo in Keauhou Punahele was the perfect location to stay for our annual trip to the Big Island. The condo is well situated to provide a quiet sanctuary nestled next to the Kona Country Club. But close enough to the Keahou Shopping Center and only minutes from Kailua. The unit is well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Very spacious for the 3 of us. Can't say enough for the cleaning crew, they provided us with a spotless condo upon arrival. Our only complaint would be that we had to leave. But we will be back!

Host was very communicative even though he was on vacation himself. First time in this unit but have stayed in theses condos before. Love the BBQ on the lanai. Lots of beach toys we appreciated.

We were hoping for a few more spices in the kitchen besides just salt and pepper and sharper knives but the rest of the dishes and pots were good. Unfortunately the coffee grinder didn’t work. The bathrooms were super nice. Whenever we communicated with the property management, we received a quick response. We enjoyed the pool area. We just wished it was opened a little later. Two of the beach chairs were great but two were bad. We would have really liked boogie boards as well. Some of the shoes and snorkel masks left in the bins were rotten.
All in all a great trip with adequate accommodations
Add $5 per night to the fees and supply good beach chairs. Boogies boards. Spices, oil , sugar, and other basic cooking items and the place would be a 7 plus.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was as pictured, and from the moment we walked in it felt like home. The beds were very comfortable, as well as the living room furniture. Kitchen was clean with great work space. We had everything we could possibly need.
The sunset views from the lanai were amazing! It was also fun to just relax and enjoy watching the birds, and hilariously, the wild goats that come and go on the golf course.
Since we were so off course from our regular schedule at home and work, I woke repeatedly throughout the night. I loved just stepping out of bed and onto the lanai to enjoy the night skies, or early morning coffee as the sun rose.
There were ample supplies of beach toys, as well as a nice size cooler. We especially appreciated this since we were at beaches every day, all day.
We would HIGHLY recommend doing the manta ray dive. It was an experience none of us will forget! You can also walk down to the viewing deck at the Outrigger to just watch the mantas come in.
We like the relaxed and more private location of this property. We put many, many miles on our rental jeep, since we wanted to do a lot of exploring, including hidden beaches.
It was very warm in the condo, but our understanding is that this is the way it is on this island with no A/C. No problem at all. There were more than enough fans to keep us comfortable.
I'll just say, no complainers allowed here, please, because we loved it and want it to stay the same!

Good location in relation to amenities, large condo with great bbq, comfy beds and in unit laundry. Downside was gardeners coming onto lanai and blowing things around and up against the sliders while trying to enjoy a morning coffee. Mongoose use the lanais for a super highway, so watch that they are closed. Stairs down to unit/back up to parking could be troublesome if you have knee issues, but was fine for us. Would stay again, super easy to deal with Knutson and condo was clean, convenient with lots of room. Pool area large and easy access.

You will not be disappointed. Location is centrally located for everything we had planned, snorkeling, coffee tours, national parks and so much history. The sunsets are beautiful from anywhere in the home. It was incredibly clean, comfortable and quiet to relax. Helen is lovely and brought us yummy avocados and coffee and made sure we were taken care of. Such an enjoyable time.

Marilyn was an extremely responsive and accommodating host. The condo was well-kept and well-equipped, in an excellent location. The only two negatives I would point to:
1. It’s something of a tight fit for six people if they are not all from the same family, as the loft bedroom really affords little privacy.
2. The second main floor bedroom runs hot, even with the use of fans. This problem is exacerbated by the type of sheets/bedding that are used, as they are a t-shirt type of material which retains heat. This would be an easy fix.

Though unit is considered ground floor, you do have a set of approx 18 steps down/up from the parking area. Tip to make it easier is a sloping path from managers office if you can't do stairs.

The property is nicely decorated, with updated appliances and nice tropical touches. it has adequate supplies to get you started, the usual shampoo and soap, utensils, cups, plates, saucers, etc. There was no salt or pepper in the shakers but ok. There's a lot of ceiling fans and 2 portable fans. That said there were a few issues too that were mostly resolved, a burned out bulb, blinds that didn't work but were fixed mostly, and the big one is no AC. It gets hot in there if you have to leave and close the windows, especially summer. Overall good experience, nice place but be aware it's hot and no real view.

On face value, the quality and amenities of this condo were great. Super clean, fully equipped, lots of stuff for the beach. Close to road that is noisy, but we still thought value was good. However the reliability was the key issue and why we wouldn’t stay again. Wi-Fi didn’t work despite our efforts to reach out for a fix. Dryer was finicky. On the last day we lost all water and we were switched to a different condo. While we understood this was out of the managements control, it was a lot of effort to move, the replacement condo was not as nice and was hot with less fans. We then discovered the dryer in this unit did not work at all and ended up making trips back to the previous condo at 5 am before our flight out to try to dry clothes (in the finicky dryer!) that we had washed. It was a poor ending to our time in Kona and efforts to reach out to management to make it right were unanswered. This was our third condo in Kona to have mechanical issues that required a changeOf plans which leaves us feeling like the maintenance/management in this area may be unreliable.

We stayed here for a week in late June. This place has great energy, and it is very relaxing. The design of the home is open and gives you an expansive feeling. The master bathroom is fantastic. During the day, we spent most of our time on the Lanai. The pool and the jacuzzi are also a short 30-second walk. We also enjoyed the proximity to the Keauhou shopping center and the snorkeling at two step, Captain Cook's and Kahalu'u. Most importantly the management was very responsive to all our needs.

Vacation rental was 1970s construction with poorly updated craftsmanship used over the years. We had previously stayed there 20+ years ago and it was in better repair then. Overall it was adequately appointed with mismatched silverware/dining ware and well used pots and pans, but still serviceable. The most unsettling problems was the cockroaches, lots of cockroaches. I am sure in Hawaii it is a difficult problem being a hot wet environment. The beds were well worn and lumpy, lanai showed it age as well. In the inflated post COVID pricing this seemed overpriced for the condition. In the end we had a good time, who can't on the big island. Hopefully pricing will reduce back to a more reasonable price for non water front vacation rentals and the owners will find better contractors to accomplish future upgrades.

A short walk to the water, or a couple minutes drive to the most beautiful beaches, restaurants and bars along the Kona coast. The complex, grounds and the pool are all very nice but the condo is beginning to look quite tired and in need of updating. We previously came to this condo in 2016 and to be honest nothing has changed since then.
Some of the linens and towels although clean have staining.
Our biggest and most serious concern are the beds in the loft area.
My daughters used these beds and within a few days my daughter had a painful and stiff neck due to the mattress which appears to be either totally worn out or of very inferior quality. Her neck was so sore she attended a walk in clinic and a local massage therapist.
On returning home the pain had spread from her neck into her shoulder and down her arm and she spent the night in the ER where after extensive tests revealed she now has a long thoracic nerve injury which may take up to 12 months to heal.

That was a very nice touch. The condo is located right on the Kona country club golf course. This did mean that lawn mowers are running every other day very early in the morning just after sunrise. Other than that, all of us and our family enjoyed our stay. The pool was very nice as well as was the spa too.

The property is in a great location and looks exactly as it is listed. The parking spot assigned is very close to the unit especially if you can access it from the lanai entrance. We were given lanai keys during our stay as we were unexpectedly told the front entrance would be closed for sidewalk repairs but then the listing manager told us it was canceled and we could still use the front door access for our stay. The pool was closed for repairs for part of our stay so we didn't use it. The fans and shades kept the rooms very cool without a/c. We only saw 1 lizard in the unit near the lanai doors so it is very well-kept!

They have washer and dryer, which was great. The only issue was the dryer had no heat. We washed our clothes but couldn’t dry them.
We were told that the place doesn’t have AC which we were ok with since we were there in February. It was still a little stuffy at times.
Definitely not a place you want to stay in the summer time.

All was great. Only complain was the neighbours below complained because we got up early! Sorry came from Canada and she didn’t realize we are 4 hours later! Otherwise I suggest not to stay at this location with a child we tip toed as much as we could but unfortunately keeping a toddler from not moving until the lady below us was up was impossible. Otherwise everything was at the location that we needed to cook and stay.

The property was pretty and very clean. Beautiful sunsets…the first impression seemed good. Within moments my 3 year old almost slipped through the balcony as we were exploring our new place. The balcony gap from the floor to the rail is bigger than normal at 5”! I went to lock the screen doors to keep my child safe only to find them broken. The screens were falling out and the lock didn’t work. We found a 4 page front and back list of rules for the property that we were not made aware of when booking. The pool has 24 hour quiet times with things like no loud or repetitive noises or games, no splashing, or toys. No playing on the grass, no beeping your car fob to lock if it makes noise, no talking in the parking lots and more! We rented this unit for our family and young children and we were not able to use the amenities which was very disappointing. If we had known the rules up front we would have chosen a more suitable place to stay. The dryer did not work but it was thankfully fixed promptly. The blinds in the master bedroom were broken.. both of them. A bunch of the cabinet doors were held closed with scotch tape and kept swinging open causing us to hit our knees and heads. A piece of tile fell off from the master shower. The fridge stopped cooling during the night and we lost over $300 of groceries we had just bought. We were told we would have it refunded but it’s been a couple weeks and still nothing. Our stay was stressful and not as expected. So many things went wrong. The property itself is a nice spot, good location but not for families with young children as it is a place for older folks to relax and live. We were very disappointed with our stay and the lack of knowledge given to us about the communities rules. I don’t feel like the property was ready to be rented out as lots of things needed to be fixed.

My family stayed over Christmas for 2 weeks. The condo was lovely and the grounds were very well kept. However the rules for the pool and grass area are not welcoming to families and the permanent residents do not like the tourists or children. This place should be rented as an adult only.

The condo was clean and well stocked. The location was great to walk to the snorkel beach or jog on Ali’i. Lou was very responsive to any communication. We would be happy to return one day.

This property is exactly what we had hoped for. It had all the essentials for a traveler. I appreciated the location from nearby attractions. The check in process was easy. Parking spot was easily accessible. I would stay here again.

Quite spacious for the two of us. Would still be good for four. Apartment is nice but a little tired, could do with updating somewhat. Still we had a good stay and was nice to be on the ground floor and be able to walk out of the front sliding windows. Pool area is pleasant, quite and sheltered.

The property was great and the grounds are beautiful. Nice location a quick drive from lots of activities and beaches. The complex rules are very detailed, so if you are going with kids, I’d recommend getting a copy of them first, specifically if you want to use the pool, but overall a great stay.

We enjoyed this rental and felt it was in a great location, close to shopping yet, far from the congestion. Lack of A/C was not an issue (our stay was Jan). We enjoyed the pool,hot tub, and the view of the golf cource and ocean.

Great condo for a family! It was equipped with everything. We miss those sunsets so much already! Comfortable beds and nicely appointed unit! The grounds were beautiful and the pool was great! There was someone selling the best fish ever just across the road too! Great proximity to Keauhou shopping centre and over to Captain Cook for pizza or tacos!

Everything was as described! Perfect location and property for our family of 4. The condo was exactly as described. The only thing I could suggest is that the blinds in bedrooms need cleaning/a good dusting and I believe the carpets should get shampooed. There were some minor allergy symptoms while spending time in bedrooms. Overall though, an excellent experience.

Our stay was great. Clear directions on how to find the unit and enter. Looks just as the photos show. It was a great property to stay at and be comfortable for a small family or friends while enjoying Kona!

The condo was beautiful and quiet. The neighbors were amazing! We would definitely rent the condo again. The owners reached out to us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked (we cooked due to family with celiac) and it had tons of seasonings which was great. The only thing it lacked was a hand mixer.

We enjoyed our stay here, especially the large lanai! The condo was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained. The pool unfortunately was shut down for half our stay.
The only thing that we missed a bit was having AC, we were usually out mid day, but it got fairly warm. The fans helped to sleep at night and beds are very comfortable.

Our vacation rental was everything we could ask for. We had 3 rooms with each having a bathroom to themselves, a beautiful balcony where you can see the ocean and an open floor layout for hosting and cooking. The condo amenities are great. There is a pool and hot tub just a 2 min walk from the condo. We had one child on our trip which made following the rules of the pool easier. If you have more than one child and they need to get a lot of energy out or a large group that is louder this may not be the space. The community is older and some rent their space and others live either full time or part time. That means some like new people coming and going and others find it hard to live in a space that is not being respected properly. So, just be mindful of the living community and follow the rules. They do have staff on the property that will say something. There is a local snorkeling beach 5 min away from the condo and amazing Poke at Da Poke shop ( only open on Mon-Friday). The owner was so kind and the food was fresh and so good. My 6 year old love Poke. There is also grocery store, pizza place and bar all in the same area for eats and drinks just 10 min down the road. Overall this space was everything we needed. There is snorkeling things in the space to borrow, everything for a trip to the beach and more and we also gifted a little swimmers life jacket. When we go back to Kona, we will be using this space again!
