The condos was just as described, the views were amazing, the community pool overlooking the ocean was a great place to unwind each evening with other families with kids playing and enjoying the sunset. We will definitely look to come back to this condo on future trips.

Beautiful home in convenient location, walkable to Hilton Waikaloa resort. Loved the layout and spaciousness of this 3B/3Ba unit - perfect for 4 kids and 2 parents. Great beach toys, including 4 boogie boards for kids to play at nearby beaches. Ocean Club was beautiful and we had a nice dinner there. Also we cooked breakfasts in the unit’s well-stocked kitchen. Great communication from hosts!

Hali Kai is a great location with pool, gym and dining on premises, the Ocean Club food was a pleasant surprise! The condo appliances were top notch and except for the ratty carpet which has been noted by other guests, the condo was very nice.

This unit is one of the nicest we've ever stayed at. The complete ocean view from both lanais was beautiful. We saw whales every day and watched the sunset every evening. The unit had everything we needed such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher tabs and laundry tabs, beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, and a stocked kitchen from spices and oils to cooking utensils and more. The pool is very close and looks over the ocean. It has a bar and restaurant and you can order from from your lounge seat. We walked to the King and Queens shops a few times (it's about 1.75 miles) or took the 2 minute drive. The check in and check out process was seamless and the rental company was very easy to communicate with and very quick to respond to my questions. David from the complimentary concierge service was helpful in booking excursions for us. Everything was perfect and I'd definitely stay here again!

Spacious, well appointed and all the amenities you could need. The owner is responsive, friendly and accommodating - allowing us to get in early and stay a bit late! The pool area is like a resort, and includes a bar and restaurant with awesome staff. You will want a car to get around to all the beaches and attractions. Only wish we had more time to enjoy - highly recommend!

Everything we needed more!! The space was perfect for 2 couples or a couple and 1 or 2 kids or guests. Easy check-in & out. Neighborhood is immaculate and so was the condo. It’s also thoughtfully stocked with beach and everyday living items. AC was great, parking is easy, and this unit is close to the pool & fitness center. The lanai is wonderful - we watched whales from it! All in all a great stay!

This is by far one of the best VRBO experiences we’ve ever had. John & Diana have beautiful space that they graciously share with others. The condo was clean, super well laid out, parking was easy, Ocean Club a huge bonus (we used the pool, gym and restaurant) and great location. This is our go-to lodging in Kona and this has become our favorite unit.Lovely unit, very well maintained, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. They have everything you need, including boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella, towels, and snorkel gear. There is usually oil, spices, and some other basics in the cabinet - this time there also was some rice and various other things. Coffee provided, as is a selection of teas.The view from the lanai is unbeatable - we saw whales and enjoyed watching the waves. The pool and pool club are great for food and drinks, and lounging. 49 Black Sand Beach is a 15 minute walk along the shore.

The room's location was great, with a nice view of the ocean. The upstairs room had a problem, causing them to wash their floor late at night and into the next morning. There was water flooding their lanai and onto our patio on both days.

Above all, Allyson, the concierge, was quick to respond, super helpful, had so many recommendations and helpful resources and was literally one of the best I’ve worked with (I’m a travel agent and have worked with many). The condo was great, had everything we needed, and was clean. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 star is the carpet is very dirty (lots of stains from previous renters and my baby’s clothes were black from crawling around on the carpet). Even though the carpet was dirty, I was pleased there were no bugs. The AC was wonderful, the area was nice and quiet, and the layout worked great for our family of 5. We were very comfortable. We really appreciated all th fun beach toys, chairs, snorkeling equipment, balls, and other sports items. Out of the owner’s control but very important to note is how strict the pool area is. This is not a property for school aged children. The pool is great for babies and adults. The pool staff is ridiculous strict on school aged kids. Absolutely no jumping off the sides of the pool, no throwing balls, no flotation devices over the age of 7 (no pool noodles), and the staff is on you the minute they see something. What’s projected from the beach club is “kids can be seen but not heard”. We will not stay at Haali Kai again for this reason. Again this had nothing to do with the owners of the condo. The condo was wonderful as were the hosts.

Not a good stay experience at all. It was shocking to find hair left on the bed sheets, meaning they likely weren't changed properly. We also spotted a cockroach in the kitchen. It felt very unclean and made us uncomfortable. Housekeeping needs major improvement.
