Two bedroom arrangement worked very nicely. View from patio is great; well-kept grass, view of golf course and good walking conditions. Ground floor makes coming and going easy. We spent two wonderful weeks at this condo in beautiful Hali’i Kai, a very quiet gated community right on the ocean in Waikoloa.
We particularly loved sunsets at the ocean-front pool and dinner at the adjoining private Ocean Club restaurant, which had surprisingly good food (we ate there several times during our stay).
The private, well-furnished and tastefully decorated two-bedroom unit has a great layout overlooking the golf course and a partial view of the ocean from the patio - a pleasant setting for morning coffee.
The attentive owners have provided literally everything you might need, from beach chairs, umbrella, towels, tote bag, cooler with pre-frozen ice packs, and snorkel equipment, right down to a selection of condiments and office supplies.
A very nice welcome gift greeted us upon arrival at this spotless unit. The private covered parking space is also a nice feature. I believe Lance & Susan live on-island and use the unit frequently, so they stay on top of any maintenance issues – and it shows!
They seem to genuinely care about their guests and respond almost immediately to any request. We’ve stayed in Kona in the past, but infinitely prefer Waikoloa. We couldn’t imagine a better location on the Big Island than Villa 5B Hali’i Kai, or better hosts than Lance and Susan.

We particularly loved sunsets at the ocean-front pool and dinner at the adjoining private Ocean Club restaurant, which had surprisingly good food (we ate there several times during our stay).

My Husband and I stayed here for a week! Lance and Susan are fantastic hosts. They respond so quickly to any questions we had. We had an issue with the AC not working properly and it was fixed in less than 12 hours. It never bothered us as we were out and about most of the day. The place was the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed at. We went and used the pool a couple of the days we were there and ate at the ocean club beach house for lunch. They literally have EVERYTHING to make your beach days out and about pleasurable! Chairs, snorkel masks and flippers, a beach umbrella, beach bag, cooler bag and ice packs in the freezer!! It was so quiet and relaxing here! I am only sad we had to leave! I will be recommending this place to all my friends back on the mainland. Some other items to note: Kona is about 35 min away, Volcano National Park is about 2hrs from the time you leave to the park entrance. Therefore plan for a long day of driving we packed lunch and explored that whole
Side of the island left at 5:00am and didn’t get back until 10pm that night after stopping in Hilo for dinner. It was a great “exploration” day! Thanks again Lance and Susan!!

Relaxing, Relaxing, Relaxing! Lance & Susan have set up a very cozy, clean, and comfortable unit for your get-away-from-it-all vacation. Did I mention it was relaxing??? Being the very last development before the sea and the adjacent massive Hilton hotel, you will enjoy an expansive & unobstructed view during sunsets off of the lanai with peaks at the ocean. A very short and beautiful stroll along the soft green grass takes you to an ocean-front view and a perfect place to enjoy amazing sunsets with a drink in your hand. Wonderful and very attractive pool and lounge area, along with a bar & restaurant with good food and great live music on the weekends. Everyone working at this property went out of their way to be kind & helpful during our stay. Tennis courts, a basketball hoop, and a putting course just beyond the front door were a great bonus (all equipment to enjoy these amenities was available in our unit, along with pretty much all the beach gear you could ever want). We appreciated the treats and extras left in the the panty and refrigerator for us. But the highest marks are for Lance and his near-immediate responses to any message we sent or question we asked. So helpful. It was a perfect set-up for our family of 3: mom & dad in the main suite and our teenager in the other room with it’s own king bed, bathroom, and sliding door that made it feel almost like a lock-off. Needless to say, this will be our first choice when returning to the Waikoloa area. :)

Everything about our stay was phenomenal. The villa was incredibly clean. The decor was lovely. It just felt luxurious and much more exclusive than the Hilton next door (though we did enjoy walking over and snorkeling in the lagoon).
We could tell a lot of thought went into making sure everything at the villa was just right which made our vacation even more special.
The mattresses were very comfortable, and our family enjoyed the pool and hot tub every night at sunset. The location was perfect, and we will definitely be back to stay here again!

This was our first time at the Hali’i Kai and we hope to be back and make it a regular family vacation spot. The condo was very well equipped with beach gear, towels, cooking gear, and more. Check in and out was a breeze! The hosts were so accommodating and EXTREMELY responsive… like instant replies to a text after our flight got in late. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Met our two adult daughters in Kohola area for a winter family gathering. They are use to resorts, but we wanted to show them the condo option. This was a perfect mix. Access to private pool with bar service, walked to shore with refreshments to enjoy every sunset, and plenty of beach and snorkel options within 20 minute drive either direction.
Lance and Susan were fantastic to work with. Condo was clean, modern, well stocked, everything in working order. This shouldn’t disappoint. Highly recommend. We’ll be back.

The hosts were incredibly responsive and kind - giving Christmas gifts to our children since we were there Christmas Day!! The description is spot on but there was more than that. A nice basket of goodies welcomed us into the well appointed and immaculate home. This is no ordinary rental. It is obvious that this is someone's home and well maintained as such. There was not one thing we needed! We paid it forward by leaving a few unopened/untouched grocery items we purchased as well since we came to a fridge stocked with goodies too! Lance & Susan are a text away with any questions and so accommodating to ensure you have the perfect vacation! The home is conveniently located to pretty much everything. I got my marathon training runs in while my wife enjoyed some peace & quiet on the lanai and my son perfecting is putt on the practice green and his three pointers on the basketball court. We also got a few volleys on the tennis court. The sunset by the pool was magnificent. We did spend more time venturing to nearby beaches to see some sea turtles, diving to see manta rays, and a couple of excursions across the island for some zip-lining and to visit the Volcanoes National Park. One tour operator even does a pick-up/drop-off at Queens Market, which is a 7 minute drive.
This was truly a home away from home but even better!

One tour operator even does a pick-up/drop-off at Queens Market, which is a 7 minute drive.
This was truly a home away from home but even better!

Wow this was a great place to stay!! SUPER Clean, SUPER Quiet and very comfortable beds. The owners have thought of everything and were very thoughtful in supplying snorkeling gear, beach umbrella, boogie boards, basketball, beach chairs, tennis racquets and golf putting gear. Plus a very well stocked kitchen. Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again and have already given our family members the info for the place so they can book it when they go the Big Island. The grounds and pool area with its own restaurant/bar were just icing on the cake!!! 5 Stars all the way around!!

I am late in writing this review. We stayed here from 7/26-8/3. Of course life hits hard when you get home.
Our trip was celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday and our daughter’s 13th. Our 9 year old son was also with us. The hosts left us a lovely birthday gift to get our celebration started right away.
We made one mistake in trying to maximize our time by going shopping for things before being able to check-in. There was so much there already that we wouldn’t have needed to buy. So definitely check-in first.
The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved being able to cook some meals and made use of the BBQ outside. Sitting out on the lanai eating breakfast was our favorite. You can see the ocean a bit and get visits from birds and mongoose (mongeese?)
The beds are super comfy!!!!! The ceiling fans made a huge difference and were much appreciated but the a/c works great too. The overall decor was tropical but felt calm, not cheesy. We loved it.
The hosts were just a text away if we needed anything at all. They are super sweet and helpful and genuinely wonderful people.
We loved the area in general. The area is beautiful, quiet and low-key. The walk to the pool along the grass doesn’t take long. The pool is nice but not deep at all. Our son LOVED it. This is THE place to watch sunsets. The staff there were great and the food wasn’t bad either.
I’m not sure when we will get back to this island but we would 100% stay here again.

Beautiful location, well equipped condo. It was a short walk to the ocean club pool - and the fact that the resort fee is included is nice. It’s close to so many nice beaches within relatively short driving distances. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive. Thanks again for such a memorable time!

My family and I just visited this beautiful condo and we absolutely loved it!! It is the perfect little place in paradise. My wife and daughters made some very fantastic memories during our time there. Some I’m sure we will never forget. The condo was immaculately clean and had everything a small family like ours could need. The Ocean Club restaurant and pool was really fun, right on the water and had beautiful sunsets. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The unit was very clean. The grounds were immaculate! The unit was well stocked with all the basic essentials you will need for a great vacation at the beach including snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach chairs. The owners/managers were very communicative and helpful. I will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay in this very nice, very clean Waikoloa condo. The area is very quiet and the ground floor unit was perfect. The lanai was small but very private with a partial view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen was very well-equipped for a vacation rental and we enjoyed having our own grill. We cooked a few of the nights during our 6-day stay. Also great were all the beach towels and chairs, fins etc. that were provided. The beds were super comfortable and the A/C worked great (very important for husband!) The pool area was beautiful and not crowded but it wasn’t high season so it may get overly crowded at times. Communication was timely and easy with the owners and their descriptions of their unit were very accurate. I highly recommend this rental.

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The property is beautiful and perfectly located with all the amenities we could have asked for, and more. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and everything clean and sparkling as new for our arrival. Located just a short walk to the pool and club house for leisurely afternoons and evenings with a cool drink and some delicious food overlooking a perfect sunset! We hope to come back again to this little paradise.

Stayed in Luxury 2 King villa "3B". Great decor & furnishings,
yet very comfortable. Well equipped with dishes, pots, pans,
as well as beach things to use. The resort was gated, very quiet
& dark at night. We also loved the Ocean Club!
