Kolea #16F is a beautifully furnished and decorated home in a very quiet complex near A'Bay. Our host is organized, informative and responsive. She provides a well-stocked, comfortable home for all visitors. We could walk to the neighborhood Beach Club, the waters of A'Bay and shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful, comfortable and memorable stay here!

Great unit, great location, management company was very helpful and responsive. There were some details that could have been better such as 5 light bulbs were burned out, oven and microwave did not work and counter units were provided, half the burners on the grill did not work, kitchen utensil, plates, glasses were a bit limited for 4 people staying 9 nights, there was one key fob for the pool (the 2 other key cards did not work and were for the old gate system). Overall, this unit just needs a bit more TLC and attention to details and it could be spectacular. We have stayed in Kolea many times in various units, this one is in a great central location.

The area was really cute with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The unit was nice and clean. The access to the beach club pool and beach was great. No view of the ocean though. We had a few issues with our unit that I reported to our host. Overall good.

Spacious, clean, and comfortable condo in a fantastic complex. Communication with the host was excellent, which made check in and check out a breeze. The unit is a short walk to the pool and hot tub (which are amazing), and the beach is just a bit further. Having the Hilton pool pass was awesome and also easy to use with clear instructions in the unit. I would definitely rent this condo again.

Unfortunately, our experience at this condo was very disappointing. The bathroom flooded twice from under the sink during our stay, shower heads in the master bathroom and jacuzzi tub were broken. The kitchen was not clean upon arrival, and the main refrigerator was malfunctioning and required frequent resetting to work properly. The wine refrigerator and the outdoor refrigerator were also broken.We were uncomfortable to discover a Ring camera on the property that had never been disclosed prior to our stay. In addition, the air conditioning was controlled remotely by the owner from another location. The unit would become hot at night, and an alarm on the AC system repeatedly went off when the temperature was adjusted, making it difficult to sleep comfortably.Families with children should be aware that this is not a kid-friendly property. Due to the maintenance issues, lack of proper disclosure, and overall condition of the condo, after this experience we would not choose to stay here again

This unit was exactly as described. We actually met the owner because she was in town. She's wonderful. We enjoyed the pool and beach, they were so close to the unit. There were so many extras in the kitchen. Everything we could possibly need and then some. It was nice having shops right outside the gate when we were tired from the water. Another wonderful stay at Hale Mermaid in Kolea in the Waikoloa Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this condo. One of our favorites in Waikoloa and so far our favorite complex we've stayed at in Waikoloa. It has easy access to the beach and you can walk to dinner at many local restaurants. We also love Waikoloa because it is easy to go out your door and go for a walk with all the sidewalks, and its close to shopping and groceries. The condo itself was immaculate and has all the amenities we needed, and you could cook a feast at this condo and enjoy it on the lanai. The pool area is quite nice and you are provided with a towel while there. Our hosts were great with communicating with us and we did not have any problems. We would definitely stay again!

Well stocked VRBO and very responsive host! Great location, close to the pool and short walk to A-bay. Some of the appliances showed their age but all worked well. The master and twin beds bedroom stayed a fair amount warmer than the open areas. If you’re looking for a good rental, hands-down this checks almost all of the boxes!

Lots of space for our family of 5. We have kids between the ages of 13-17 so we maybe didn’t need the Hilton pool pass because the pool on the property was fine for the amount of lounging they do. For younger kids, pool pass would be better for playing. We had family staying in the next building over so everyone walked back & forth & had multiple areas to hangout in. Property exceeded our expectations.

We had a few small issues at check in but the property manager was quick to remedy. The condo has everything you need, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, beach toys, plenty of towels. The pool on the property is lovely but they don’t allow rough housing by kids (it’s not huge so understandable). The beach consistently has sea turtles swimming and feeding and the view is stunning. Great location to drive to Kona to swim with manta rays, drive north to Hawi for zip lining or about two hours from volcanoes national park.

This was a very comfortable condo, and as is mentioned frequently, is very close to the beach/pool and trail to the ocean. The location on the island is beautiful, and we truly enjoyed Kolea resorts, with the groundskeeping, nearby restaurants and shops, and nearby beach. While the condo does not have an ocean view, it is easy to walk down to the beach. The area feels very safe. Robert let us have a little extra time on the day of checkout as well.

We love to stay at Kolea and have been visiting every year for over a dozen years. This year we wanted a ground floor unit and this one worked well for us. One thing we hadn't considered about being on the ground was bugs - we were visited by a centipede in the kitchen once evening and a spider by the front door the next night. Both were removed easily. This condo is wonderful! The space is very roomy with high ceilings, great furnishings and comfortable beds. The lanai is also wonderful, and we loved being able to open the doors up entirely to let the wonderful beach air into the condo. The beach toys closet is also fully stocked with everything a family of 4 needs for the beach.My only note is around the pool - travelers should be aware that the pool is a relaxation pool and does not allow floats or balls. While this was a bummer at first, we actually didn't need the pool because there are so many things to do in a short walk or drive.

Kim’s place is a serene oasis. The entire Kokea complex is incredibly impressive. The combination of the Lanai, outdoor grill, fridge, and the wall of glass that seamlessly blends into the wall creates a magical ambiance. I highly recommend trying the fresh catch of the day at Kona Fish. Enjoy grilling while watching the sun set, the sky transform into a pink hue, and torches illuminate the area.We’re already looking forward to our next visit.
