Nicely updated, comfortable beds, beautiful property in the perfect location. Unfortunately for our stay there seemed to be some sort of roach infestation. They were the worst in the kitchen, where every time you turned on the light there were 3-4 that would scurry away in the countertops. They were also in both bathrooms and the bedroom. We’re from California so we know they are around, but this was a problem. Also, upon check in there was 1/2 roll of TP in one bathroom and none in the other. Took them three days to bring some up. Last the WiFi was down for all but the last day of our stay. Couldn’t watch movies or do the small amount of work we had to do.

The property was very nice except for the balcony doors. One didn’t close properly and both doors let in a lot of noise which made it hard to sleep. Check-in was difficult as the property manager had not alerted the desk of our reservation. Luckily the wonderful staff at the Whaler solved the issue!

Our unit was clean, very spacious and well stocked. The kitchen had everything we could need. There were plenty of beach chairs, toys, snorkel equipment, coolers, etc. We had a toddler with us, and used the provided stroller every day! There was also a washer/dryer in the unit! The location was perfect... within walking distance of shopping, eating, beach walking, etc. We had an amazing trip, and our room was exactly what we were hoping it would be! Perfect location with immediate access to pool, beach and barbecue area. Great people and beach watching spot. Clean, very well equipped and nice décor. Minor signs of age and use, but nothing to detract from your enjoyment. Responsive owners and exceptional staff at the Whaler. A great vacation spot! Hope to visit again!

Condo was very clean and well appointed. Dry food storage was difficult as no available cabinets to keep items off counter or stove top. I don’t care for clutter especially if cooking. The sofa sleeper was noisy and uncomfortable to sit on. Used available laundry once, near the elevators, which was great. Views were wonderful as we could see whales from the balcony (with our binoculars). The loading and unloading of catamarans on the beach was enjoyable to watch. It was noisy from the restaurant’s below the unit during the day. I did contact Maui Resort Rentals once with a question and they responded quickly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We rented this for our son's family with one 9 month old infant and twin 2 year olds. The unit has great direct access to the grass courtyard area and then on to the pool and beach from the dual openings out to a large patio. It is very accessible and flexible for activities and use. The ground floor location provides great views out to the ocean. My son's family enjoyed having breakfast on the patio. The unit is in good condition and was clean. The fold out couch gave great optionality with their family. A much appreciated bonus was the included beach chairs as well as the large DVD library and games. Also appreciated the extra towel sets and abundance of pillows. The Whaler also has very easy access to local shopping and restaurants at the adjacent Whaler's Village. The host was very responsive and communicative as was the on site staff. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

We rented this for our daughter's family with one 20 month old son. The unit is so great as it opens out to a large patio with direct access to the grass courtyard area and then on to the pool and beach. Very accessible and flexible. Even with the ground floor location, there are great views to the ocean. They (and we), enjoyed having breakfast on the patio. The unit has been upgraded from original construction and is in great condition. The fold out couch gave great optionality with there family. A much appreciated bonus was the included "pack and play". Also available which was great was the boogie boards, noodles and beach chairs. The Whaler also has very easy access to local shopping and restaurants at the adjacent Whaler's Village. The host was very responsive and communicative as was the on site staff. This lovely condo is in a perfect location with beach views and easy access to Whaler Village. The kitchen was well equipped as was the bathroom. The condo is very spacious which turned out to be great because, as luck would have it, we were there when the Kona low hit all of Hawaii with torrential rain and winds causing major road damage and flooding. Julie and her property manager were very helpful communicating almost daily to make sure all was well. Although we found the rechargeable lanterns, Julie sent her property manager by to also make sure the power bank was charged and to move patio furniture to avoid damage. Due to the storm, we were stuck in the condo for the majority of 4 days. If we had been in a smaller unit we might have gone crazy, but Julie's condo is so spacious we felt comfortable as we watched the weather from large sliders in both the living and bedroom (ocean views from both). The balcony is also large so we enjoyed it and watched the whales and weather before and after the storm. She also provided lots of games and beach stuff. We had plans to use the snorkel equipment, but due to the storm we had to cancel that as well as our whale watching trip. Because the condo also overlooks Whaler's Village there will be some noise but it is so convenient to walk everywhere and the views are spectacular. The beach is long and clean and beautiful. You will enjoy a stay here and Julie is an awesome hostess!

We had a wonderful time. Unit was clean upon arrival and stocked with everything we needed including kids sand toys and extra beach chairs. Bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. Living room had a Murphy bed which we didn’t use but there was a pack and play available for our little one. Cindy was quick to communicate and check in and out were super easy. We loved being on the ground floor it made going to the pool and beach a breeze. Looking forward to our next visit thank you Cindy!

From check in to check out it was very easy! The room was clean and has a beautiful view! We seen dolphins a few times From the balcony. there were extra blow up mattresses if needed. The pull out bed in the couch was thin but we put cushions underneath and it was so comfortable for our kids. Appliances were nice and the kitchen was equipped for cooking in or grilling out. There were beach chairs and umbrellas available for the beach and a few sand toys. The bedroom is spacious and wonderful. The mattress was okay but the setting was very comfortable. The bedroom door doesnt open for access to outside. Over all stay was 10/10!

Wonderful location. Condo had a lot of space. Beds and pillows however felt like they were picked up from a free bin at goodwill unfortunately. Also the courtyard pictures are not the view from the lanai. However I would not cross this condo off your list. Whalers village is worth being close too. Also one more note the beach here is lovely but when there are waves the beach is too steep for waves you can body surf or boogie board on. That being said we had a wonderful vacation!

Unbelievable!!! Rent this unit! It is even better than the photos. The whole crew of 20 families we traveled with stayed at the Sheraton except for us, and we were in heaven here! The location is perfection being next to the village. The unit seems brand new with everything you could need, including beach chairs and umbrellas. Beds were SO comfy, bathrooms were immaculate, kitchen was fully stocked and the wrap around porch was insane. Spent all of our time out there. Cannot wait to stay here again!

We were there during the big Kona storm and could not leave the condo as much as we wanted to.
That being said, we were so grateful to have such a beautiful place to be stuck in!
Check in was a breeze. We were given a contact person, and he was very responsive through out stay.

The views from this unit are stunning! The room was beautiful and spacious. The location is perfect, with Whalers Village shopping and restaurants, and Black Rock for the best snorkeling just a short walk away.

We have been to Maui many times and always stay at the Whaler. Julie was by far the best host, her unit exceeds all expectations, is fully equipped and has a large lanai with a fabulous view. You can't go wrong staying in this unit. We highly recommend it.

The view cannot be beat anywhere on the island. The view is why you come here and it did not disappoint! The unit was bigger than it looked online so that was also plus. Yes, it is very dated, but I knew that by the reviews and photos. However, there definitely needs to be some improvements made. For example, the plumbing is so bad that you can twist the water knobs all around. The gas stove burner only had one temperature which was all the way on. The hairdryers had to be from the 1980's and I was afraid it might catch on fire. It wouldn't take much to replace those.

Wonderful place, roomy and clean with beautiful views and the resort is close to everything! They had balls and chairs for beach days which was wonderful! Having laundry in th condo was awesome also. We are a cooking family, so that’s the only thing I’d recommend the condo to have more of: forks, soft spatulas, pizza cutter, sheet pan, etc. I think there were 6 forks at the time of our stay so we had to do dishes every time which is doable, but more would be better. We would definitely recommend and stay there again.

This is a nice top floor apartment with views of both the mountains and the ocean, specifically BlackRock beach. Wonderful views and the Whaler resort is our favorite as it has amazing beach and snorkeling at Black Rock with quick access to the Whalers Village Mall and all of its shops, restaurants, and most importantly the ABC store. That makes getting stuff you need easy. Would definitely stay again.

This condo has been beautifully remodeled and very nicely furnished. The rental process at the Whaler was easy. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning and having the unit ready for us. There is a great view of the beach and ocean from a large lanai. The host is very personable and responsive to any inquiries. We would definitely return!
