We were 4 people including my Granddaughter, my adult son and his GF, and myself traveling. The accommodations were perfect!! We had a hiccup at check-in which was related to Vrbo not having accounted for my final payment for our stay. The owners did show I had paid and worked through the issue directly with The Whaler check-in staff and me. Stressful moment for me, but it was resolved quickly.I would definitely stay here again! The condo is beautiful and the views beyond what we'd hoped. There was easy access to beach, snorkeling, shopping and amazing dining. We did not want to come home!!!

All was excellent. The room was nice and as described. View of the ocean from the balcony. Plates, utensils, etc., etc. were available in the kitchen, which was fully functional. Separate bathroom and storage closet. Host provided beach chair, chairs and beach umbrella. Hosts were very nice and very accommodating. Easy check-in and check out just like a hotel. Highly recommend this condo.

Gorgeous condo on K beach on Maui. Looked to be totally and quite recently re-done. (I wish I had the master bath at my home!) Appreciated all the extras with beach chairs (albeit quite well used), board games, books, etc. And loved all the special touches with soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioners in all bathrooms kitchen, containers in drawers for all the “stuff” we bring on vacation and the lovely scent diffusers in the bathrooms. Master bed was so comfortable and we used both the pullout and the Murphy bed for my 17 year old twins and they said both were comfortable. Note: we did leave the pullout open all week bc the coffee table was quite heavy to move. Corner condo provided views of mountains and beach and we literally saw a rainbow every day. A huge plus for us was the included W & D as we like washing our suits and beach towels each day. The kitchen was high end with everything you could need but we mostly used for breakfast and some lunches. We had a slight issue with the internet when we arrived. The staff provided a temp fix until maintenance could come due to the hour we called. The next day it was completely fixed within an hour our morning call. Nice and quiet at the end of the hall as well. Would definitely recommend!!!!

We always stay at the Whaler when visiting Maui, this was our first time in this unit and it did not disappoint! It was roomy and comfortable. Only thing we would change is the sheers in the living room. It is nearly impossible to watch tv once the sun passes over the building. Not an issue for most people who are there for the view as most of us were, but my elderly mother likes to watch her afternoon and evening programs and found it challenging with the sun glare since there are no curtains or blinds. Doesn’t change my 5 star rating, the view alone is worth it

We’ve stayed at The Whaler a dozen times and this was by far our favorite unit. It was as if the owners had just stepped out, meaning there was absolutely everything we needed to feel at home. Imagine having the option of coffee by Keurig or a traditional coffee maker? I always pack Tide Pods and Bounce for the washer-dryer down the hall. Of course, this well-appointed unit also had the same detergent and dryer sheets in the utility cabinet. You never see that! I’m obsessed with recycling and we appreciated the easy to spot dedicated recycling bin and trash bin. I loved the bedding so much that I quickly checked the label so that I might have the same waiting for me in San Diego. Having a second bathroom is a game changer. The view was ridiculous in the best way possible. It was a perfect 10 days and we thank our hosts for making us feel so at home.

Our first time staying in this studio and we were very pleased from the moment we entered the unit. Unit was exactly as pictured, very clean and bright, with an awesome view of the beach and mountains from the balcony. We had mentioned when booking that we would be celebrating our anniversary during our stay and were pleasantly surprised by a bag of goodies waiting for us. We really appreciated this special welcoming gesture. We loved that we were only steps away from the beach, The Whalers Village, and many restaurants. Definitely would like to stay here again on our return trip to Maui!

The view, lanai and location make this an amazing experience. I was concerned this was not oceanfront but the ocean view was amazing and you can hear the waves! It’s like being oceanfront! The Whaler property is very nice with beautiful grounds, nice pool, hot tub, and is oceanfront. The beach is very nice. The location is perfect. The condo is nice but smaller than the pictures reflect. I would say this unit is great for a couple or family of 3 or 4. Jim the host is responsive. I would book this place again.

Great ground floor unit. Walk right out to courtyard and beach. Well stocked kitchen. The sleeper couch is newer than what was in the photos which was nice for the kids. Washer and dryer for free down the hall which is great to pack light. Next to everything. Good beach toys, chairs and umbrella ready to go. My ONLY suggestion is to get a new coffee maker for the unit. But the one in there works great just can’t set a wake up time.

This property is all about location, which is wonderful. The host was very responsive and helpful. Having stayed in several units at The Whaler, I would have to say this is definitely one of the oldest as far as room, configuration, furniture, etc. The description of a recent upgrade is somewhat misleading. The furniture is quite old and mismatched, carpet is very old and the kitchen and bathroom looks to be the original when built (?). Some cheap upgrades would help - replace rusted shower hanger, rusted coffee maker, rip out carpet and tile, etc. Because I booked this last minute, I felt lucky to get something at this location with the court view, and if you’re in a similar situation I would definitely recommend renting this. However, for the all in cost you could do better as far as an upgraded unit if you plan ahead.

The location of this property was great! Past the business of Whaler's Village, and with wonderful beachfront. The grounds were clean and pleasant, and the staff was friendly. The unit's location, and being able to walk out onto the grass and be close to the pool and beach was the best!The only downfall was that the unit is older, and there is obvious water damage in places, with the associated musty/moldy smell that so often comes with ocean/island properties. By opening both sliders during the day, we were able to keep it pretty fresh, but closing it up caused the smell to return. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

The unit is amazing and perfect for your vacation! My family of 4 was very comfortable there. Having two bathrooms is really nice. Everything was clean and as pictured. The Whaler as a resort is ideal. The pool is lovely and the location is ideal. There was a slight miscommunication at check in (our booking wasn't confirmed with the Whaler resort--only the host), but thankfully it was sorted fairly quickly. Sounds like it was a miscommunication between the host and the resort. Other than that, our stay was amazing! Highly recommend.

Nothing needs immediate attention. Some observations - The contractor did a lousy job on the ceiling in the shower. You can look up into the attic and see piping and insulation, which isn't great. Wallpaper is peeling off in a bunch of places, which is just cosmetic but not great. Bed spread is very worn out. I would recommend upgrading to a smart TV to allow guests.to watch programs they pay for.

The Whaler property is very clean and well maintained. This unit is perfect for 2 people to relax and enjoy everything about Maui. The view from our balcony was excellent to enjoy breakfast and watch the sunrise. Or have a drink and watch the Black Rock divers each evening. The beach was clean and beautiful. The Whaler location is so convenient right next to Whalers village where there are plenty of places to shop or eat and drink. The owners were very responsive to our questions. The views from the unit lived up to the pictures in the listing. We had everything we needed in the unit after a trip to the grocery store. We had easy walking access to the shops and restaurants on Kaanapali beach, and the underground parking was easy to access for the days we wanted to go exploring around the area. It was our first time using VRBO for a Maui vacation and I'm glad we made the change. We are looking forward to returning to Kaanapali and this unit in the future.
