We loved the oceanfront ground floor location of this unit with easy access to lawn area overlooking the ocean/beach. A well stocked kitchen. We had a couple hiccups with an appliance or two but the owner was extremely responsive and worked to resolve our issues quickly. Access to in house laundry was convenient.

We've been to Maui several times, and this was our favorite trip - the condo was perfect with beautiful views, all the amenities needed, a gorgeous beach, and a shuttle to take you to the Whaler's Village. We appreciated having beach chairs (in the unit) and towels provided by the complex. It was a relaxing vacation to celebrate our anniversary!

This unit is really nice. We liked the 2 bedroom split and both mattresses were comfortable. The unit is clean and well kept. MKV is a really nice resort with a great pool and beach right out front. Castaways had good food and all the works were really nice. Trolly was a fun ride with the kids. They had the best complimentary coffee in the lobby every morning which made each morning very enjoyable. I highly recommend this unit at MKV.

Barbara's condo. She is quick to respond and is extremely helpful.
The condo itself has everything you'd need for your beach vacation including beach chairs, snorkel masks, etc. and the resort is ideal in that it is located along the beach boardwalk so walking to other resorts, restaurants, bars, etc., is easy and scenic. The resort itself is quaint and has all one could ask for including a lei greeting upon check in, free am coffee, and a beach side restaurant! The staff is very friendly.
One thing that I did not pick up on when researching, was that the condo lanai is only about 2' wide, but there is a beautiful dining set immediately adjacent to the large sliding doors so you almost feel as thou you are outdoors. And the view is beautiful. I loved the rattan furnishings and the beautiful local art on the walls. We tried to extend our stay but sadly the condo was already rented out...

We love Maui Kaanapali Villas, and have stayed there many times. This is the first time we rented a unit more than once as the view is so amazing. Maui is in the process of recovering, and we felt very welcome. Awed to see and hear about the recovery and what happened to so many people with the fire last August. Several local people said the tourists are needed now, and there were fewer tourists than usual. We had a great time!

Pictures don't do this awesome studio justice! The space was perfect for the two of us. A very comfy king bed, ample size dining room, large bathroom with separate tub/shower. Loved the location - steps away from the smaller pool and very close to the larger one. Hot tubs at both were amazing. Beach is steps away from the larger pool and sunset was gorgeous with chaise loungers on the grace right by the sand beach. Jeanne was awesome! The special touches in the unit were too numerous to mention! We loved it and will be back!

we have stayed at the Villas many times and Maui a lot but this was our first time VRBO and all was good easy to check in all was as expected. the on premise laundry was not working which I wish we had known about as we would have packed differently but found an off site one that was ok. rented a cabana from Chuck at the Beach shack for the week.

We enjoyed the property for the big living space, nice kitchen appliances, boogie board and beach chairs available. The property was close to the beach and not too far from Whalers village or other restaurants.
The air conditioning unit was out(not the owners fault). It took 3 days to fix and then made a lot of noise. Fans were provided which helped.
The front desk people were helpful, and we made use of the daily coffee service in the lobby.

Couldn’t recommend this property more between the location/amenities/cleanliness and comfort we didn’t want to leave. Location: the ocean with great snorkeling and whale watching is steps from your living room. Amenities: we enjoyed walking over to Castaways for breakfast in the morning and there is a beach rental shop to rent paddle boards/ kayaks on the property as well, Captain Steve is a great source for where spots to snorkel. Comfort: extremely comfortable and cozy condo. Beautiful furniture and artwork/ comfortable couch and extremely comfortable bed. We are very grateful for our time in Maui and hope to be blessed to stay in this condo on our next visit.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this condo and resort! The ocean view from the condo is exactly as pictured on the photographs and I loved waking up to it every morning and eating breakfast on the small balcony. The location and beach cannot be beat! We loved how close it was to everything in West Maui and enjoyed snorkeling right outside the resort. The resort is lush and beautiful and the pool/lounge chairs were never crowded. I would definitely recommend this property!

It was our first time for my husband and I to visit Hawaii. Barbara’s Condo was perfect for our visit.
We went snorkeling every day on the beach across from the Unit, saw plenty of fish and swam with turtles! Easy walk to Whaler’s Village where you can find plenty of Restaurants. It was nice to enjoy breakfast watching the Ocean. We even saw a whale one morning! Getting free coffee every day in the lobby was lovely! I loved having a kitchen for the times we didn’t feel like going out. Barbara was the perfect host giving us detailed information about everything we needed to know.

This is a great location. The two pools and beach access are nice and the space is very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and were close to a friend’s wedding. I didn’t spend much time on the lanai because we were too busy but that might feel a little noisy for some for is proximity to the road but it’s a really great spot. We had friend who reserved ocean front but liked our beach access better.

This condo was beautiful! It accommodated our family of 4 perfectly. The main bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The pullout couch fit our two kids (8 & 12) wonderfully!
I loved the openness of this condo with the sliding glass doors. It was bright and cheerful. Everything was clean and the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils we needed. It was an easy and short walk to the pool and beach.
MKV is our favorite place to stay. It’s beyond charming and has the best beach, friendly staff, is kept clean and never feels crowded.
We would definitely stay at this condo again! Our kids said it was the best vacation they’d ever had. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

I had no warning nor follow up on multiple requests for communication about the air conditioning being broken. I walked into a boiling hot room with afternoon sun. I had to use box fans rotated throughout the day to keep it cool enough to sleep at night. The 2 of 3 vents by the front door were broken, limiting my ability to ventilate. The stopper on the front door didn’t work so I couldn’t get cool air in that way.
The layout, kitchen, view and balcony were great. Just should have had a response or been given a discount for my stay.

The unit is very nice, great for 2 adults. The pullout bed is just fine. The larger property has 2 swimming pools and we found the one near us to be super warm and inviting, and almost unused! The nearby beach has great snorkeling, we saw several sea turtles. We saw whales from along the walkway; there's a great walkway running from Dukes to the north down to Whaler's village in the south with access to many restaurants and shops without driving. It doesn't have some of the amenities of the huge resorts nearby but it's also 1/3 the price. Have a great time, spend less money! If we return to Maui, we'll happily stay here again!

Our experience with this VRBO was terrible. We went to check in after a long day of traveling and the hotel had no reservations for us with any room. The hotel tried calling the property manager many times and never got a hold of him. I tried calling and sending a message but also got no response. They figured out what room we were in based on the listing pictures. We got up to our room and the place did not seem to have been cleaned. The bathrooms were gross, the kitchen had garbage still in the trash and the floors everywhere were dirty. We absolutely loved the location but did not enjoy working with this property manager. Will not stay here again.

My husband and I just spent 12 days at Barbara's place and it was everything the photo's show and more. The property is right on the beach with miles to walk on paths or sand in either direction. It's close to Whalers Village Shops and many restaurants & cafes. We never used the trolley but it was running all the time - great option!
We enjoyed the properties pool with attached restaurant and bar (live music several nights) and time on the beach (chairs and umbrella in unit) or the property chairs in the grass. There's swimming, snorkelling and paddleboarding on the beach right infront so although there's lots to explore on the island, you don't need to go anywhere.
The sunset views were stunning from the beach or the room and it was whale season so we saw whales everyday!! - That was amazing!
The room was perfect! Well stocked, great location and huge windows. Groceries were conveniently close. Barbara was a great host. Always accommodating (thank you for the late check out) and quick to reply.

Stayed MKV before so knew location and amenities were great. Central AC for entire complex was out starting in late January. Would prefer that Hawaii Life had disclosed that when they found out. Probably would not have changed anything since we had made full payment by then. Replacement AC units were supplied but were noisy so we did not use them. Love the old school vibe of location/property..plenty of grass and pool space without the crowds of the mega resorts.

The Maui Kaanapali Villas are beautiful right on the beach. Good food, not crowded and quiet. It lost one star because of no ac and no laundry due to mechanical problems. Overall it was fantastic.
