No fault of the property, but with the raging wildfires there was no electricity, no cell service and no internet. As a result, the air conditioning was off and there was no hot water. We had to open the sliders and the narrow window by the front door. The screen blew out repeatedly until maintenance came to anchor it in.
The pools had to close because the filters didnt work. The restaurant was closed and the whole lobby was in the dark. Not a great time to be in Maui!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Barbara’s condo. She was helpful throughout the process. The location is truly paradise with its ocean view. You can walk for miles, snorkel, dine, shop, swim in the ocean, and swim in beautiful pools. We loved not needing a car to get around. Barbara gave us great suggestions and when I mentioned the bathroom sink was draining slowly, within 20 minutes maintenance came and fixed it. The on-site restaurant was amazing too, very reasonably priced and great atmosphere. We also loved the free trolley that took you to Whalers Village. We were also able to pick up the city bus from Whaler's village which took us downtown to Old Laihana. Thanks Barbara!

This was our third stay on the property, the first time we stayed in this unit. It is a very comfortable unit and a wonderful partial ocean view. Would not hesitate to rent this unit for our next trip to Maui.

This was our first visit to to Maui and we couldn’t be happier we chose this property ! Barbara is an excellent host. She’s so responsive and everything ran seamless. We loved so many things about our stay at MKV. The beach is phenomenal and just a few steps beyond the generously sized swimming pool. The onsite restaurant and bar is really convenient, well priced, and the breakfasts were *so* tasty (as were the beverages). The property overall is really chill--if you're looking for relaxed vibes, this is your place. It is *not* a see-and-be-seen location, which was fine by us. Beautiful sunsets, really friendly and helpful staff, and all the amenities we wanted and need. It was hard to leave.

We had a great stay at this property. The resort was very nice, with a very friendly and helpful staff and terrific amenities. With a two-and-a-half-year-old and expecting wife we didn't get too adventurous on the island, but it didn't matter since everything we really needed was right there at the resort. The kiddie pool was the top highlight for our little one, and searching for geckos around the property was a close second! I would definately recommend this property for anyone looking for a perfect Maui get away!

This place has everything, from all kitchen items, utensils, etc., to beach chairs, umbrella, and small wave board! Only steps to a pool, ocean,and resteraunt/ bar. Also a free trolley that takes you to shopping and other restaurants Did I mention the beach? At least 2 miles long, and beautiful. Great Snorkeling on entire beach. Saw a sea turtle, and Dolphins , first day. All beach gear needed can be rented right on the grounds ,by the beach. This Condo/Villa is PERFECT. My Wife and I absolutely loved it. We rented a car, the location is central to everything. The owner was incredibly helpful on all questions, and gracious when we asked for a slightly later check out. We plan on making this our GO TO place in Hawaii. Villa staff were also excellent. The security guard took pictures of us at sunset by, and on the beach. He did not want a tip, his pleasure. Awesome place and experience. The, on site resteraunt has great pancakes, and cocktails. My Wife did not want to leave. Come to think of it me either. Thank you Barbara, for everything, your place is awesome. Till next time.......soon!

We decided we will definitely return to Maui Kaanapali Villas for all future trips. The unit has everything you need, a beautiful view and comfortable furniture. The beach is calm and sandy, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. I loved having the bar right on the beach/pool area. And Castaway Cafe has really great food! Excellent communication with the host.

Walking distance to many restaurants on the beach walk, the best beach right out front, all of the amenities you could want including beach chairs and an umbrella. The staff onsite are friendly. The beach is just a few steps away from the property and also right in front of a great snorkeling spot! The resort is connected to all nearby resorts with a beautiful beach path walkway. It's a 2 minute drive to the grocery store or the harbor that hosts the meeting spot for excursions. Maui Kaanapali Villas is a wonderful gem tucked in the middle of a few much larger resorts. Making it perfect for those who crave less crowded areas but easy access to explore!

My fiancé and I loved our stay. Barbara’s condo has everything you need for a perfect escape to Maui. We loved the property, the pools, the beach and the complimentary trolley to Whaler’s Village! The beach walk was perfect every morning. I’ve stayed in Maui before but this was by far my favorite resort and location.
We had all the kitchen items needed for grilling and cooking, plenty of towels and we used the tommy bahama chairs quite a bit. The view is beautiful from the condo. We can’t wait to go back. Barbara was very prompt with communication and sent helpful tips and recommendations in advance. She is a great host and we loved her condo.

This is our 7th year that we have stayed on this property and in one of Barbara's units. The grounds are inpecable and manacured daily. The staff is very friendly and Barbara the owner is extremely helpful and easy to work with. The pools are kept up daily and are not overcrowded. The Castaway Cafe has great food at a reasonable price...and a good happy hour. You can reserve an outside table for early dinner(5:30) and watch the whales while you eat and get great pictures of the sunset as you finish your last glass of wine. It doesn't get much better. We don't rent a car so we walk, use the green trolley(which is free) or use Maui Bus to get around the island. The Villa's are centrally located and it's an easy walk to the Time Market for groceries(and poke and sushi) or to Starbucks at the Marriott.
The beach is north of Black Rock and is far less crowded then south Kaanapali beach which is down by the Whaler. Barbara has all kinds of beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkels and fins in the closet for guests to use. The room is very clean and comfortable and you can see whales spouting in the morning while you are eating breakfast. We cook about 1/2 the time and the room is set up with enough pots, pans and dishes to do a good job meal planning. There are also some very nice stainless BBQ grills outside that work great for steaks, burgers and fresh fish. All be said this is very nice clean comfortable unit to stay in with a very helpful owner and thats why we keep coming back each year...and are already on the calendar for 2020. We really enjoyed our stay. Nice restaurant on property. Great mai tai party on Wednesday. Clean bbq areas. Room was clean and worked for our purposes. Great view for a partial view, just a bummer that there is not full lanai to sit on. But we spent most our time out of room. Pool was amazing we never had issue getting a chair. Beach at resort was not crowded and was perfect for swimming. The cabana rental guy wouldn’t rent us the last cabana one day because one of the guests he made friends with “may” want it that day. Other than that, resort was perfect.

Just wrapped up a fantastic stay in A-317 at Maui Kaanapali Villas. You absolutely can't beat this condo for it's amenities, location on Maui's best beach, and the price! It can be mind numbing trying to decide on a Maui property with all the choices, so look no further!
Maui Kaanapali Villas is a low density property, more in the older Hawaiian style, on gorgeous perfectly manicured grounds. Great pool, hot tub, restaurant and bar, and a beautiful stretch of beach we think is the best on Maui. You can swim, snorkel, and whale watch and much more from here. Stunning sunsets too, which you can see from the condo, along with a nice view of the water. The unit itself is spacious, and very nicely appointed with Hawaiian style furniture and artwork. The condo has been completely updated with very nice touches including a super comfy king bed. It has a full kitchen with granite counter tops. It also comes with beach chairs, umbrella, and swimming and snorkel gear. It's in a great location with a short trip down to LaHaina, and you walk along the boardwalk up to Duke's restaurant. Many eateries are close by, along with a large modern grocery store. The owner, Barbara, is very easy to work with and very responsive to any questions. This place has it all, you really never need to leave the resort. And you won't find a better deal for the price. We'll be back that's for sure.

To start, the location on the beach, nearby shopping & snorkeling were excellent - the days we were able to enjoy it it was great to have all that be so close.
The rapidly approaching hurricane did cause us some other travel difficulties (having to cancel our road to Hana portion of the trip) and Barbara was great at keeping in touch and modifying our plans so we had a place to stay during the hurricane! The condo itself was a great place to hole up. Whenever we can make it back to kaanapali we’re definitely staying there again!

The condo is embedded into an extremly nice, tidy, clean and well Kanapalli Villas complex. Beach and pool are two min walk and amazing. The view from the pool and beach is one of the best in the world. The Castway Cafe Restaurant is very convenient and good. The room is well mainainted and very clean. Extremly compfortable for two people. A little tight for four (covertable sofa). We will definetly come back (even if it half around the world).

Maui Kaanapali Villas is an affordable, yet well-maintained and pleasant resort. We liked that it is located so close to the beach. It only takes 2-3 minutes from pretty much any spot on the resort to reach the beach. We also liked that the beach has a shaded grass area under large trees with free beach chairs. The pool is also great and comes handy when the ocean is too wavy or windy. Barbara's unit had everything we needed for our stay, including even some snorkeling equipment. The kitchen had a supply of essentials (salt, sugar, cooking oil, etc.) so that was very handy too. As some others have noted, the lanai is extremely narrow (can hardly fit two chairs) so we didn't use it much, but that was ok. The view from the suite is very nice and you can see the ocean pretty well. Overall, a great stay!
PS - for first timers in Maui - don't rush straight to Costco right from the airport. We did that and found that most of their produce is sold in gigantic packaging, so that you won't even be able to consume it within a week. There is a large Times Supermarket within a 3-minute drive from the resort (or you can even walk there), and a Foodland and Safeway in nearby Lahaina. I didn't notice much price difference between them and Costco, and the selection there is even better.

We want to thank you Barbara for our wonderful stay in your unit 517 at MKV. The 5th floor condo is very well appointed, and has a beautiful view! Gorgeous sunsets, and we could even watch whales from the condo! The artwork and color scheme reminds us of the sea with its blues and greens. Comfy bed too! We do a lot of our own cooking, and the unit has all the tools you need to whip up a great meal. The BBQs at MKV are also very nice, immaculately maintained. MKV sits on one of the best beaches on Maui, with great swimming, snorkeling, and beach walking. The unit comes with chairs and an umbrella which we used a lot! There's also a beautiful pool at MKV, as well as the Castaway restaurant and bar right on the beach. Each morning we walked down the Kaanapali boardwalk to get the day started. Very close by we enjoyed the Fish Market for fresh fish and fish tacos, and Okazuya Asian takeout is outstanding. Also loved going to the Seahouse at Napili Beach for breakfast! LaHaina is just minutes away with all its shops and restaurants, and of course the famous Hula pie at Kimo's. We finally did the road to Hana this year, and that was an unforgettable experience. Again, thanks for sharing your beautiful condo with us, we plan on coming back!
