Incredible view. Furniture could use an update carpet needed cleaning and hot water was an issue that was reported to the maintenance people. Had a wonderful time. Great condo

We love this corner unit at The Whaler because it has 2 bathrooms and an awesome view of the mountains, beach & ocean! The unit is spacious for the 4 of us. It is equipped like a regular condo. There were beach chairs/umbrellas and blow up mattresses in the closet. It’s nice that each floor has a complimentary laundry room and trash chute. The complex is nicely landscaped and conveniently located next to Whaler’s Village with nice shops & restaurants and 2 resorts over to Black Rock beach. Water excursions are offered right on the beach front. The management company was professional, accommodating, and quick in response. One thing to note, the water in the bathrooms take a few minutes to heat up. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this unit again.

We had a perfect stay at the Whaler. On theme for the rest of the reviews this property sits in the MOST perfect location with the MOST perfect view. Your options for dining, beach, exercise are limitless and if you don't feel like leaving this view, your night is pretty perfect taking in the view. We never left the patio. Breakfast each day overlooking Black Rock was heaven. We also loved how the Whaler's amenities were hotel quality. So beyond easy to park in the garage and just live day to day in this property. We later went down to Wailea in another VRBO and missed this unit and it's vibe and talk about it still now that we are home. The only suggestions we had were: kitchen knives need a major refresh as does the drinkware (cocktail glasses needed), coffee pot and bedding. It is near perfect otherwise and we'd happily return back to this paradise! Such a special unit.

I can't wait to come back to Maui and I will be looking at the Whaler as my first choice. This unit was well-stocked and spacious. The building and its location to the beach/shops is as good as it gets. The mountain + ocean view wrap-around balcony was fantastic as well.

We loved the Whaler 1124. Perfect location on the beach, with Whaler's Village next door and the beach just outside. The unit was clean and well-stocked, and the wrap-around lanai was amazing. The unit has a drip coffee maker, a Keurig, blender, toaster, a couple of beach chairs, and a couple of self-inflating air mattresses to use for beds, in cases like ours where pulling out the bed each night for the kids to just fight in was a pain. Overall we loved our stay, and would absolutely book this unit again when we return to Maui. Mahalo!

We had stayed at the whaler before, but the views from this room were outstanding. We really loved staying here. We have a teenage daughter and sleeping on the pull out couch was no problem, she said that it was very comfortable! Probably one of the best vacations we’ve ever been on in Maui!! We have been to Maui quite a few times, and we didn’t rent a car on this visit or our last visit. The bus system on the island is fantastic :-) So, we just hung out around Lahaina and Ka’annapali beach area and it was very relaxing. Although, the bus system goes over most of the island and that’s how we got around most of the time. This unit was perfect for us, nicely decorated, and very pragmatic. It’s a very nice rental unit. Anyway, being directly on Ka’annapali and being able to grill your own food or cook in the kitchen is a great way to go if you are wanting to be frugal. Of course, we did go out for dinners and some happy hours, but it was nice to be able to grill on the ocean front in the evenings with a good group of people down there it became fun like a little party :-) All being said, we hope to possibly be fortunate enough to rent this unit again. We had a blast!! I want to add that all of the staff, and the groundskeeper’s keep the place looking outstanding!! Everyone at the whaler goes above and beyond and they worked very hard!

Loved being on the beach, walking to restaurants in Whaler's Village, quick trips to Lahaina for restaurants and groceries. Also were multiple excursions that leave from Kaanapali beach, so we could walk to those as well. Free parking in garage under the Whaler. The unit had 2 beach chairs, umbrella, 3 boogie boards, 2 hard sided coolers, and some snorkel gear. This was so convenient and we used those items daily. Loved the wrap around balcony, we watched every sunrise and sunset from there. Huge sliding glass doors (with sliding screen doors to protect against insects) made the unit feel so open and breezy. Then we used AC at night to sleep. So nice to have a kitchen for some groceries, given its too expensive to eat out for every meal. Felt clean, safe. We would stay here again.

The balcony was HUGE and wrapped around the building. We loved having a corner room with the BEST view. Excellent location. The room was also huge and stocked with plenty of towels, hairdryers, kitchen things, and pretty much everything you need. The room was spotless clean, bed was comfortable, and we loved the mirrors! We could not have had a better room. Whaler #1124 is the best as well as the entire Whaler itself. Staff made us feel welcome as soon as we walked it. Check in and everything was a breeze. We would love to come back!

We had a lovely stay. 5-stars.Most of the time we spent on the beaches around the area, so when we were on the wrap-around lanai the low din of the building fan from the building next door wasn't that big a deal. The linens were clean, and there were PLENTY of extra plush clean towels (you have to look in the lower bathroom drawers or closets. Kitchen was great. Very clean. I do recommend for the sake of not looking dated that the owners replace the bed coverlet. It was clean, but really seemed dated compared to the rest of the place.I would stay here again. Very responsive staff.

Pictures don’t do the property justice. The location and the balcony were amazing! Many meals and after the beach lounging happened there daily. The staff was friendly and it was in the center of everything. The place was clean and had lots of stuff for the beach en-suite. The bed was super comfortable too. This was my 3rd time in Maui and the best place we have ever stayed, it trumped the Westin where we stayed last time. If I go back to Maui, I am staying here, you cannot beat that view.
