This unit offers an unusually large deck and spectacular panoramic views of the coast and hillside. Outdoor and indoor furnishings were clean, comfortable and well-designed. Besides quality bed and linens, the carpet was like new and probably the nicest rental flooring ever! Experience and communications with the owner were exceptional at this well-located and maintained property. A definite rebook.

The room was just what we needed! From the kitchen, to the multiple sleeping options, to the large lanai for watching Black Rock at sunset. Jim was a pleasure to rent from and always responded quickly to any inquiries we had. Would definitely rent again.

Beautiful beautiful condo and the views of Molokai, the crescent beach the the black rock are the prettiest we've ever seen. Jim, the owner, thought of every little detail around the condo to make it comfortable. And the chocolates when we arrived were very appreciated!

This was the perfect place to be! Top floor panoramic view of ocean, black rock and the golf courses. Super quiet room! Whaler village next door with food and shops. 5 min drive to Lahaina where there is more shopping and food and the famous Uluani’s Shaved Ice. Owner of VRBO responded to our questions promptly! Daily hot tea and sweet tea on property. Only negative.. pool was small. We would definitely stay here again!!!

We loved staying at The Whaler. The condo is exactly what you see. It was very homey and designed in a Hawaiian theme, which we loved. It was quiet and beautiful view - inside and out. We really enjoyed our stay in this unit. The views from the patio are great. Sunsets on the beach were incredible! Owner was always very responsive. We had no complaints. As many have suggested, this is such a convenient location being close to Whaler Village and Black Rock. We enjoyed snorkeling here and our teenage boys loved jumping off of the cliffs. The pool is very average but staying on one of the nicest beaches in Maui is what makes this a great unit.

The property is in a great location. Make sure you walk down the beach to the Sheraton so you can see cliff diving Monday through Friday evening. The condominium as well appointed however I’m not sure if you would want to stay there with more than two people since there is only one bathroom. They are a great views of the beach From the patio Where we enjoyed evening beverages.

This unit at the Whaler was perfect in every way! Jim answered any and all questions before arrival and was so professional to deal with. The condo has everything you could possibly need for a perfect vacation. The location has the best beach and proximity to Whalers Village with shopping, restaurants, ABC store is awesome. We have stayed on Ka'anapali several times before, but this was by far the nicest condo we have ever stayed in with the best view of Black Rock Beach and sunsets. The condo was immaculate and even though it was a one bedroom we had no problem sleeping six people (4 teens) in the space. The location is perfect right on the boardwalk and next to The Whaler mall. We enjoyed snorkeling and cliff jumping a short walk away at Black Rock and watched a native scale the rocks to light the torches each evening from our balcony at 5 PM (free show before dinner). We always enjoy our time in Maui and wouldn't hesitate to book again with Jim to stay at one of his amazing properties. Mahalo for the best Christmas and New Years our family has ever had!!

The Whaler is located right next to Black Rock, a premier snorkeling area on Kaanapali Beach. Couldn't ask for easier access to restaurants, shopping, beach, water sports, etc. Our unit had excellent views for sunrise, and came supplied with beach/pool gear (chairs, boogie boards, ice chests, etc). We enjoyed looking out over the water and seeing whales off in the distance. Highly recommend it and we plan on making this an annual trip. Thanks.

My husband's wish for his 70th birthday was to go to Maui and see the whales. This amazing condo surpassed all of our expectations. The view is incredible, the furnishings are top of the line, so much space, relaxing and quiet yet so near to everything in Kaanapali walking distance. State of the art entertainment and wifi. This unit is so well stocked that literally all you need is your tooth brush and bathing suits! We will definitely come back again, our best trip to Maui so far!

We had a wonderful stay at this Penthouse unit--easily one of the best in the many times we've visited Maui! The unit has gorgeous ocean views from the large comfortable balcony and from practically everywhere in the unit including the kitchen, dining room, living room, and bedroom. The condo is spacious and beautifully furnished with plenty of linens and comfortable beds. We were impressed with the attention to detail from the clever Murphy bed, self-closing kitchen cabinets, smart TVs, to the great lighting throughout the unit. All the beds are comfortable with quality linens--yes, even the sofa beds. The kitchen is well stocked with quality appliances and a variety of kitchenware (large pots/pans, bakeware, mixing bowls). The grounds are beautiful with a nice Koi pond and daily fish feeding, our young children loved that. The location is superb, directly adjacent to Whaler's Village (less than 5 min walk) with plenty of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. There is a great walking path in front of the complex to catch the sunset, get some exercise, and explore the resorts nearby. The owner was very responsive and is available to answer any questions. This place felt like a home away from home in paradise...we could live here, we are looking forward to returning soon.
