My partner and I stayed at this property for 1 week. The contactless check in went smoothly but upon entering the unit, we realized that it was not clean. There were ants in the kitchen due to crumbs left behind, the refrigerator smelled like fish and the toilet was dirty. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink and very little hot water in the shower. There was also a leak underneath the bathroom sink and a bowl strategically placed under the sink to catch the dripping water which tells me this host was aware of the leak prior to our stay. Although we received a great price for this rental compared to other accommodations in the area, we would have much rather paid more money for a more comfortable stay. The location was great and walkable but we will not be staying here again.

This property had all the essentials (wifi, laundry, kitchen/cooking supplies, and a balcony with a view of the island mountains) and was very close to the beach and all of the activities in Waikiki.
The shower pressure as mentioned was very low which meant a little more planning in getting ready due to longer showers but it was terrible. Would recommend for someone looking for a simple stay option in Waikiki.

It was perfect. Walking distance today the Waikiki beach. Also perfect area of all the best shopping and dining options! We were happy we did not have to drive and deal with parking at the Waikiki shopping center. Would definitely stay here again in our next family vacation!

We stayed from Friday night to Thursday morning.
The Managers were kind and helped us understand where to dump the cooler bucket and take out the trash.
It was a good stay, the parking was 10-15 minutes so be aware of that.

Great location, spacy place, awesome communication with the owner, earlier and late check out without problems! Recommend for young people due to the location in the center. Cons - parking (we did two blocks away at Ross, 12$ voucher then comes to $33 per 24hrs). Apartment comes with all - very well equipped kitchen, beach towels, beach chairs, sharp knives! 👍 ..... Could be a little cleaner (sorry). The water pressure is really bad but it is an old building and not the owners fault. It worked fine for us! Overall great!

The place is nice inside but the building is very dated. The only truly bad thing is the water pressure. It is awful and if you have long hair you will need to fill a jug with water to rinse your hair. It’s an old building in Waikiki. If you are going to Waikiki on budget, which is not a good idea, this is a good place. I knew what I was getting into so I wasn’t shocked. There were also a lot fruit flies even though I didn’t have food. I was by myself on business so it was ok. If I had taken a girlfriend, I would have had a problem on my hands.

We stayed for 2 weeks while visiting family and needed something close by and affordable. This place worked for us as it met both criteria. And it has A/C that actually cools the whole place! Nothing super nice or overly clean…it did the job. A few things to note though: the water pressure is terrible (due to the age of the building), a few things were broken or needed fixed (nothing major), and the unit is right over the downstairs bar, so we had many nights of listening to loud drunken rants and yelling, even over our sound machine. That being said, the location is convenient to many things and the price was right.

Cramped than expected. The mattress was not comfortable nor was the couch. I was told we would go through the local market, not the International Market, to get to the beach. A misunderstanding and it was wall to wall people lost of the time. It was just a “just on” experience

The place was exactly like the pictures. I wish it were a little cleaner as I found hair in the shower and the building it’s in is quite old and needs renovations. The place also smelt like cigarettes and I don’t believe it was the property itself but, coming in from the outside. As far as location goes you are in downtown Waikiki so, great access to the beach and places to shop. Also VRBO doesn’t do a great job stating that there is no parking for that particular building so, prepare to pay for overnight in a parking garage nearby.

Condo is literally in the center of Waikiki and so close to all the restaurants and bars it has to offer. The photos and description are exactly as noted in the listing and the bed was very comfortable. The full kitchen and dining table were also a nice feature of the unit.

My parter and I stayed a week at the Hawaiian King in May 2023. The building is classic, old-school Hawaii. The courtyard and pool area is a nice place to enjoy morning coffee. The unit is updated and clean. The included amenities were great! Keurig for coffee and plenty of beach towels, mats, boogie boards and chairs for the beach. If you like the hustle and bustle of Waikiki but want your own little getaway, this is your spot. We will definitely be back!

This suited us perfectly. The condo hotel itself shows its age; it needs some painting etc. While the pool was closed for most of our stay it was because of difficulty finding a new pump. When that was completed, it was quickly cleaned up and was quite immaculate! The unit itself was updated for the most part and had EVERYTHING you could possibly need! There are some wonderful restaurants and markets nearby and it is very close to the beach. The location is fantastic!

The actual unit is nice. The description is exactly what the property is. The building is classic 1958 Hawaii. It's surrounded by high end hotels and resorts with high end shopping and dining. This building is not high end though. It's classic and dated, like me. Which, I thought was perfect for our vacation accommodations. Besides, it's Hawaii. You should only need a place to sleep.

This place is even better than the online listing makes it out to be! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want - rice cooker, food processor, mixing bowls, everything you might use it’s there. There is a beach umbrella and boogie boards in the closet. Beach towels! Extra linens. Right next to everything! This is one of the best rentals I’ve done.

Although this property is in an amazing location, there is no way it can comfortably sleep four people without some maneuvering. We are a family of four and my husband and I had to take turns sleeping in the only bed available with our kids to get some kind of rest. The futon couch is not meant to be slept on nightly. I think this location would be best for two adults only. The entrance is also the entrance to a bar, so you will be passing through a cloud of cigarette smoke when you come in at the end of the day. Parking required effort, nightly, but we did find some. Overall, it served it’s purpose for this trip, but we will not be staying here again.

If you want to be in the heart of Waikiki, this is a great location. It’s close to stores, restaurants, and music. It’s slightly smaller and less luxurious than the photos may lead you to believe. If you need a place to lay your head at night, this is a great crash pad. It’s well equipped with necessities.

The shower head needs replaced, small bugs crawling on every surface. The host did not reply to my emails. And the parking is an absolute nightmare and cost an extra $35 a day at a nearby hotel. Your feet were black if you didn’t wear shoes around the property and the air conditioner was not adequate for the size of the space.

Overall, the property is well maintained and very secure for vacationers/ reaidents. Our condo, was exactly what the pictures/ profile described and the owners were extremely communicative. The location is excellent! The front of building looked dated from the outside but the inside pool area was well maintained and very private for occupants. It's an easy walk to anything in Waikiki. We enjoyed walking to places to shop and eat. We didn't rent a car, which is good because there's no parking around. The building is old, and has an unusual "vibe", but the condo itself is nice. The king bed is very comfortable, but the sofa bed is, well it's a sofa bed. There were 3 in our party, so the space was fine. It was nice to have supplies for going to the beach. We didn't know about emptying the air conditioner condensation bucket, but we figured that out. We tried opening the slider door for getting the breeze in the evenings, but unfortunately, we could smell a neighbor smoking pot. The A/C kept the place nice and cool. We did enjoy hearing the night music from an adjacent restaurant.
The price is great for the location in downtown Waikiki and for providing what you need for a nice stay.

We loved how close this location was to everything in Waikiki. The building is well kept and feels secure. My kids loved the pool and the roku tv. They had no complaints on the pull out sofa bed. The king size bed was very comfy. We had everything we needed and then some!

I love this little place! It doesn’t look like much when you get there but it’s perfect. It’s small but open both doors you have a nice breeze extra bonus because you’re the end unit. I felt safe there and there are quite a few people that actually live there year-round and I found them friendly and not resentful of vacationers at all! Also the Hawaii school of massage is 900 feet away! I enjoyed a 90 minute massage for a very good price! Tim was great! I think I just found ‘my place to go!’

The unit was clean and convenient to activities in the Honolulu/Waikiki area. This was our wedding weekend and the reason we came to Hawaii.
The unit was very small with no room to put our luggage. The pictures were deceiving and made the unit look much bigger than it actually is. There is no parking there so it was a good thing we had no rental car. There was a noisy bar downstairs that allowed smoking and the smoke drifted upstairs. We didn’t feel very safe walking out on adjacent streets as there was obviously illegal drug activity going on.
The AC drip bucket had to be emptied quite often. Still the unit served its purpose so all was well that ended well. I will choose more carefully and ask more questions the next time I rent a place on O’ahu. We did have a great time on our Hawaiian vacation.

Only wish there would have been intructions about where to take the trash out or that we are responsible for dumping the bucket of water under the A/C unit, or else we would get fined. 😬 Other than that, it was a great stay. Everything you need is literally 500 feet away or less. The beach is like right around the corner. Tim, the guy at the front desk, the lady at the convenience store, & the residents were ALL very friendly. We had to buy very little at the convenience store cause everything was already there. Don’t let the bar outside or trash receptacles scare you away from this gem. The studio we had was nice, clean, contemporary setting, quiet, spacious, close to eateries, the beach & shopping and if you forgot something, it’s sure to be there. We appreciated that so much especially the washer & dryer in the apartment. Highly recommend this location.

The good news is that the location is great and there were no bugs that I saw anywhere (whew!). It is not as nice as the photos appear (dirtier and more run down, as others have noted), and the futon is only usable by a single child, and not comfortable even for him. My 10 and 12 year old boys fit on the futon together only if neither moved--it was too narrow! It's not even 5 feet long--my 12 year old could not lie down straight--he had to go diagonal. One kid ended up on the very hard and cold linoleum floor for the week--cranky the whole time. The 10-year old slept on one side of the futon since the crack was so uncomfortable, but it was so flimsy that it flipped over and he was on the floor (his brother got a good laugh, anyway!). They have an air mattress in the place, but no one could blow it up (they said someone had left it--I can see why!). Sad--there is plenty of floor space. If the owners spent $100 bucks and got an air mattress w/ pump, this would be usable for 4. They did provide sheets for it.
I understand that you get what you pay for, but there were a few things that could have made the experience much better.
1. They didn't meet us at the place ontime, even though we sent flight info and talked to him when our flight landed. My boys and I sat in the lobby and listened to the drunks curse while we waited to get in. Not sure why they wouldn't leave the key in the lock box. Not a fun start or good impression.
2. The sheets were old and gross. I like to camp and am not afraid of dirt, but when we pulled off the comforter, the grey sheets looked like someone had sweated all over them and left the stain. I think they were washed--just old and gross.
3.Only 2 pillows were provided for the 4 of us, and even after I asked, they just supplied two clean pillow cases for us to put on top of the decorator pillows on the master bed. Again, kind of gross. Those decorator pillows have had many greasy heads. We paid $$ for our week's stay--they couldn't get a couple of new $5 pillows?
4. The toilet really rocks. Really? Just go tighten the darn thing down already! I was afraid to walk in there for fear of leaks.
The rest was kind of in keeping with the age and condition of the place. The dive bar out front attracted many foul-mouthed, drunken men and it looked like some homeless folks hung out near by (along with druggies?). You do get what you pay for, but this was under the professional meter. With a little more attention, it would be fine.

The property was a great location and a decent price! It’s not as clean as it appears in the photos, wasn’t thoroughly cleaned by their housekeeping. Floors were swept/vacuumed but your socks told the truth about how clean it truly was, etc...But the staff on site were very helpful and prompt in responding to our text messages to fix other issues that came up! Especially considering that it was a holiday weekend. For the great location and price, it was overall a good low cost stay. Be prepared to spend about $20/day for parking though and the futon is not a comfortable bed for an adult (felt framework poking through cushions), but okay for small kids to sleep on I think. :)

From the Dive Bar in the front, the "Front Desk" lock box rack, light bulbs out, broken slats in the vertical blinds where security floodlights kept us from sleeping. A toilet that rocks when you sit on it. Partiers up till 3am. Totally dark back floor level apt. True ghetto appeal. For 2 nights? At almost $400 with fees?
Manager met us at the entrance. Said we could cancel but no refund. I am truly disgusted! As a Hawaiian resident, I see the need to get vacation rentals under control. Never again. This management company should have their license revoked. There should be a place on this site to post actual pictures of this dump

For the cost per night, can't complain about location, right in Waikiki, close to everything. The beach, Diamond Head, Ala Moana and other sights are in walking distance. The Trolley and the Bus stops are just around the corner. The area is a little shady at night with the bar at the front entrance and the noise that comes from it. All in all, if just looking for a place to sleep and convenience, it is affordable. I would not recommend if on your honeymoon.
