The location of the Whaler cannot be beat. The beaches in front of the property are awesome for snorkeling. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance eliminating the need to drive. The sunset sailboats pick you up right in front of the property as well. The unit itself had everything you need to enjoy your stay. Beach chairs, snorkeling gear, cooler, and an umbrella. This is the first time I stayed in this unit but the third time I have stayed at the whaler. Great unit and property.

Overall we loved our stay in this condo. You can’t beat the view or location. We were disappointed that the washer and dryer were locked up due to previous guest miss use. Yes, there is a washer and dryer on each floor but we were specifically looking for a unit with those in it. Besides that minor inconvenience , this unit has everything you could possibly need. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, really nice snorkeling gear and we left a clear bottom boat for little ones and several beach towels for future guests. We’ve stayed at the Whaler 5 times and this was our favorite unit by far. We would love to stay in this condo again! Mahalo!

My Husband and enjoyed our stay here for a week. Centrally located to Whalers village, fantastic shopping, restaurants and breweries, as well as close to most of the day adventures. The unit was perfect for two people, three would be a crowd. We enjoyed drinks on the balcony nightly and were able to hear some of the music from Hula Grill. It was a fantastic trip.

Aston at the Whaler is our go-to property in Maui. We stay a few different units and this was by far the best one in terms of being fully renovated and its amazing views. The host was also great to work with and they accommodated all our requests and replied promptly to our messages. My only small feedback is about some leftover construction dust behind curtains that we couldn’t do much and caused us little bit of inconvenience when out little one wanted to open or go behind the curtains. Again, this is something relatively minor given the place went through a fresh renovation recently. Overall, I’d highly recommend this unit and we are definitely looking forward to being back.

We had such a great time in this unit at Whaler’s village. The location was perfect steps away from the beach in Ka’anapali with a low key family vibe: simple pool and hot tub, beautiful grounds and great people at Maui Paradise. Check-in and communication was seamless. The unit was perfect for what we needed and even better than the photos. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed to make meals, and the unit had a lots of little niceties: beach chairs, easy to read books and sand toys for kids. There were only two of us but could easily fit a family of four. We’d definitely like come back!

The check in was easy (just going to the front desk.) Check in is at 4pm. We arrived a bit early and had to wait. We checked our luggage with the valet and He actually put the food supplies into the refrigerator in our room prior to us picking up the key. That was a nice gesture. I don’t have a negative thing to say about this property. Super easy check in, walk out of unit and 1 minute walk to beach, a couple minutes to walk to Whaler’s Village, and around 5 minutes to walk to Black Rock. Plenty of restaurants within walking, but we explored all over the island. Condo has three beach chairs in closet, but lightweight beach chairs are available to grab and take right by beach. Washer and dryer very close to room and free - laundry pods in closet. Dish washer pods under sink, coffee maker and filters. We stay in a lot of condos and this was so well stocked. The beach in front of property was sandy and beautiful, we saw a turtle, dolphins, possibly manta rays and a monk seal! Owners are super responsive. I pray to be able to return to this beautiful place in the future. Mahalo!

We booked this place based on photos and reviews, however feel that neither were accurate. The resort is great, the condo however is dilapidated and dirty. There’s peeling wallpaper throughout the unit, stains on walls and doors in every room, stains on carpets, towels, bedding, and chairs, black mold in the shower and bottom of garbage can, mildew throughout the bathrooms, mold or bugs in the bathroom cracked bathroom lights, huge wrinkles in the carpet throughout, light bulbs that don’t work, sticky floors, beat up trim with chipping paint throughout, dirty dishes left in the drawers, broken lights in the bathroom, chipped mirrors in the bathroom, rust on the fixtures in the bathrooms, and something disgusting behind the toilet. We reached out to VRBO and sent photos the night we arrived, offering to pay for the night but requesting a refund. Also reached out to the owner the following AM, but as soon as I listed our issues to the owner there was no further response from her throughout our week long stay. She did send someone to look at it in person and they agreed it was in disrepair, but we never heard back from anyone. We checked out yesterday and still no resolution from VRBO. Some reviews said the decor was outdated, which we were fine with, as it had a rollaway bed and pull out for the kids. The reviews about cleanliness though are not accurate. Just want to give anyone looking to rent this place a heads up so you don't have to deal with the hassle we are.

Property is a studio well appointed with cooking supplies, lots of spices and such . There was shampoo soap and even some sunscreen. Deck had beach chairs. The Check in was at 3pm no sooner - I was surprised that they required a 35 a day amenity fee that I had to pay before we could get keys. Not sure what amenities were? The listing describes amenities such as pool spa and parking included but no mention that we would have to pay additional over and above what was paid to host in VRBO. The carpets are dated and very stained didn’t appear very clean . The safe did not work and I re-read some past reviews stating same , so it never got fixed. The bed is a Murphy bed but was comfortable and unit was quiet even though it is the first studio right next to elevators. View was nit panoramic but nice when you sat on the deck on one side was ocean other was golf course and hills. Complex location was excellent easy walk to beach and wailers village.

Finished the last 6 days of our 11 day Hawaiian vacation at this beautiful condo. Third time staying in Ka’anapali which is now our favorite location in Hawaii. The condo was perfect for my family of 3 my teenage daughter slept on the Murphy bed and said it was comfortable. The kitchen was perfect for cooking breakfast and fresh fish. The view from the lanai is breathtaking especially while having family meals. We loved the pool area as well. No problems getting a lounge chair and the staff was friendly and helpful. This was our 4th time at the Whaler and first time in this condo. The views from the condo were amazing. We could see the ocean on the other side of Black Rock, the sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening, and lights across the hillside at night. The unit was nicely decorated in a tasteful Hawaiian style and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all utensils needed including BBQ tools, coffee maker, and dish soap and sponge and dishwasher pods. We could have used extra bath towels (as we only had 3 and only 1 to spare while doing laundry) and the unit could use fresh paint in the bathroom and new (or fixed) doors and hardware to the bathroom and tub area.....however, we loved our stay and loved being right on Kaanapali Beach.

We stayed here for the second time and I think we will always choose to stay in this unit if we choose to keep staying at Kaanapali. This time around we had Karen as our point of contact when we checked in. Karen was absolutely on it. We had a minor issue with the garbage disposal not working and contacted Karen and she had it taken care of so quick. From that point on she continued to check in on us to make sure all was going well. Stephanie was also fabulous and worked with us to extend our check out time so that we did not need to leave until it was time to head for the airport, allowing us to fully enjoy our last day before our night flight. As for the unit, it is everything advertised. We slept great. Our teen did just fine on the sofa sleeper. It is perfectly situated with a great view of black rock and I spent several hours on the balcony reading and napping even which is not like me. The breezes were amazing there on the balcony. Thank you Stephanie and Karen for a wonderful time. I wish we could have booked the following week!!

We've stayed at the Whaler several times due to the great location. This was by far the experience we've ever had. This was an incredible unit and came equipped with all the little things you need. From the moment we walked into the room we knew we were in paradise. The view from the lanai is spectacular. Beautiful breezes make this the perfect spot to retreat and relax.
