Everything was great!! We have stayed in other units but this one was nice ocean front!! It’s not as quiet during the holidays but our second week was exceptional!! Also, we love The Whaler and all the amenities. We are past residents of Maui so we love all the island has to offer!!

Laura and Jim were great hosts and very responsive. When we arrived, the pack n play had an issue and when we reached out, they responded right away (on Thanksgiving!) and had Karen bring over a new with hours! Our unit was very clean and perfect for our young family! Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful condo!! Clean and tastefully decorated. Very well laid out and stocked. The lanai was our favorite place to hang out in the morning for coffee and in the evening to watch the sunset and relax after a fun day in Maui! The view was out of this world!!! Perfect location with the most beautiful Kaanapali beach right out front and right next to all the shopping and dinning at Whalers’s Village! We were able to snorkel right outside the hotel and saw beautiful fish and a turtle. Also snorkeled at the Black Rock area within walking distance. Could not have asked for a better unit and location! Communication was smooth and check in and check out a snap! Would highly recommend and hope to return one day!

Outstanding location and view. I really miss having my morning coffee or sunset rum and pog on the lanai. Friends who own at the Whaler were also impressed with this unit. That said, the living room sofa bed was quite uncomfortable and many of the plates and bowls are chipped. The kitchen could use a pair of scissors.

What a beautiful, comfortable unit! We had everything we needed to feel right at home- from beach to kitchen supplies, they are stocked! We loved being on the 5th floor, corner unit. We could easily walk up and down the stairs to the beach or the whaler. Heather and Charles were very receptive and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back.

Great view for both sunrise and sunset. Host allowed us to check in early which was appreciated after the long flight. The resort has sturdy beach chairs available (covered by the resort fee) which is a great improvement over hauling chairs from your unit.

Dishwasher is not level and not secure. Wall paper is peeling from the walls. Thanks for having beach chairs and an umbrella available for our use. The room has plenty of pillows but short of a blanket or two for the rollaway bed.

This was our 3rd stay at the Whaler and I think this has been our favorite unit. Facing the main garden with the koi pond and getting to see both sunrise and sunset is hard to beat. I preferred being south facing in central tower 1 rather than north facing black rock. Obviously a corner unit is the best view but I liked this central location if you’re trying to be active as it’s nice being close to the elevator & trash chute. Tennis, pickleball, easy pool & hot tub access on my favorite stretch of Kaanapali beach make it hard to explore any other resorts. One day we might have to try the Westin. Whalers village direct access also makes it hard to stay anywhere else on Maui. Will be back soon hopefully

We have stayed at the Whaler multiple times and have always enjoyed our stays. Checking in is always welcoming and any issues are always addressed. The unit was clean and well stock. Clean towels and trash pickup was provided every few days. We plan future trips at the Whaler.

Really wonderful unit and location in the building. Our daughter loved just being able to run out the patio doors and race around on the grass. The extras like the beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler made it super easy for us to go enjoy other areas of the island as well. Would gladly stay here again in the future.

Location and property are fantastic. The room was fine, although we would have loved to have a chaise lounge chair on the balcony. Took full advantage of the purified water in the lobby for making coffee, ice and drinking. Convenient underground parking and elevator access was nice too.

This was a beautiful condo in an amazing location. We loved our stay here! The condo was very spacious, well equipped. The property was fantastic, we manicured, cared for, perks like beach chairs and a nice pool/hot tub. We even did yoga on the lawn and bingo- both offered by the property. Staff were kind and fun. It was a superior experience!

Overall, our unit was good, and we'd stay in it again, but there are a couple of maintenance items that do need to be addressed. There are four fluorescent lights in the kitchen, and two of them are out. They could not get them working, possibly because they were too old or because the ballasts needed to be replaced.The refrigerator has no ice maker, so there's a portable one on the counter. That is the minimum level to be acceptable, but in our case, it was rapidly failing day by day. When the unit would cycle, it was terribly noisy. As our two weeks continued, it got louder & louder each day. The TV was not close at all to the ice maker, but the ice maker got so loud that we had to pause the TV until the noisiest portion of the cycle ended, and then we could resume watching. It was highly annoying. They took it away when the maintenance man came to fix it, and he said he'd bring a replacement. The replacement was also broken, so instead, they brought us a bag of ice. As I initially said, despite those two issues, we liked the unit, and we'd stay in it again.

There isn't a better condo on Kanapali Beach. We were traveling with my 88-year-old mom, who cant walk long distances. The location and access to the beach, pool, and BBQ area were exactly what we needed; it was like having all that in our backyard. Even though it is close to the beach walk, it feels private and quiet. I loved hearing the waves at night, and besides the bathrooms, you have a beautiful view of the ocean or Black Rock from every angle in every room. I was pleasantly surprised to find it stocked with basic spices and oils, and random things that are useful and I didn't need to purchase. I really can't say enough about how much we loved it. It was clean and the beds were comfortable, they provided extra towels and beach towels. Another surprise was finding a closet full of beach gear, including three chairs, a boogie board, noodles, kid toys, and coolers. We didn't need it, but they had cribs, strollers, and little beach chairs for the kids. We will be back. (and I can't wait to come back and use the kids' stuff when the grandbabies finally arrive!) Its perfect for famlies. Sliding glass doors up to a huge grass area for them to get their energy out!

I’ve stayed at the Whaler for many years and the ground floor rentals are always the best! This studio has everything you need and direct access to the beach just steps away. Parking is really easy and private. There’s pickle ball and tennis available as well as beach amenities and a great concierge to help plan. This apartment is clean and comfortable and spacious! We will definitely be back again soon!

We really like the complex and have stayed there before, and while we were generally satisfied with the condo, we were disappointed with two things. The view from the lanai of the whaler’s village restaurant roofs and smells, and second, the master bathroom was a bit dated and the washing machine was out of order and I had to fix the toilet.
