Great location BUT… perfect location for us! Parking is right next to unit which is a bonus. Pool and beach are nice but rough current outside hotel makes it dangerous if you want to swim out far, which was a disappointment for us. ( This warning is posted before you walk onto the beach.) There is a lot of construction right below you( not owners fault) that starts around 6:30 and goes late!! You won’t be sleeping in late! They are remodeling the units below you. Unit is nicely stocked with beach things and very clean. Down sides are that the seal is broken around the slider so you get a loud whistling when the wind blows. No tissues in unit. Our biggest issue was the unit didn’t lock! The keypad didn’t work so the first night we had to pack all our stuff and take it with us when we left. The owner was on a flight so wasn’t able to help us quickly. Once he heard about the problem, he had a key sent to us so problem was fixed. He was very helpful. Just very frustrating at first! Restaurant is open now and menu is ok.

Amazing condo and price for what you get! Location was amazing, resort staff is friendly and helpful, and room itself was everything we needed. Beach is a 5 minute walk from the door, and town is a ten minute drive. There’s tons to do right around the hotel if you don’t have a car too. Check in and out was easy. Overall would absolutely recommend!

Great location in Kaanapali....short trip south to town of Lahaina and also quick trip north to snorkeling at Honolua bay and also beautiful Fleming beach. The room itself was comfortable with quality king bed mattress and everything needed in kitchen items, as well as beach chairs and toys in closet. TV was the only thing hard to work (only when trying to get live local stations for weather, etc.) The Spectrum box would not turn on but the Roku allowed viewing other channels and movies, etc. Hey it didnt matter because who comes to Hawaii to watch tv anyway? There were a few bugs in the bathroom, but understandably its Hawaii/tropical and the resort did a quarterly pest control the last day we stayed. The resort property itself is very nicely maintained, pools, gardens, shops, beach area are all very nice. And the easy parking in/out right by the door! Fantasticly convenient.
Definitely would stay again! Thanks Don for the welcome bottle of wine, as it was my wife's birthday also during our trip! Mahalo!!

The room wasn't bad! I wasn't thrilled with all of the construction equipment or the porta potty right off the balcony (not the property owners fault) and we did have a couple things we had to figure out but all in all this wasn't a bad place. There were 5 couples on this trip, we were the only ones staying at this property. Of the 3 properties we all stayed at, the grounds here and the amenities were the absolute best. We had a wonderful time and really cannot wait to come back again. We'd stay here again for sure!

This unit met our expectations. The owner was very quick in getting back to you if you had any questions. It was very close to shops and restaurants or a quick drive to downtown Lahaina. There is a nice walking path to black rock beach if you didn't want to drive or pay for parking. We didn't really use much of the unit's amenities such as the kitchen or cable tv cause we were out most of the time exploring so I can't really comment on that. This place definitely has everything you need and I would recommend it to anyone.

The resort is replacing all the railings on the balconies. I spoke with one of the construction workers and he said this project will go into the summer of 2023. This particular condo has already been replaced, so we were able to sit on the balcony, but the condo has its balcony on the side where all the construction and delivery vehicles and the workers and their vehicles start at 6:30-8:00 am with back up beeps, loud talking, trash hauling, and where all the back of the house stuff happens. It’s kind of like going to Disneyland and knowing how it all happens and looks so great at the expense of seeing the back lot. Dirty. Noisy. Wakes you up early.
The condo was fine. The bed was very firm and comfortable. The kitchen was good for 2 people. We did some dinners and found everything we needed to prepare food. There were plenty of towels for bathing, but only two beach towels. The resort beach towel shack gave us a few more on our word to return them. (we left them on the balcony for the cleaners to decide which ones to keep)
When we arrived, we found it impossible to open the screen doors to the balcony because of all the dirt and sand buildup. We removed the screen doors, cleaned the tracks with vacuum and washing, oiled the tracks, and re-hung the screen doors. Then they were great. The condo appeared to be tidy and stocked, but not super clean. The baseboards were dirty. The switch plates were dirty. The corners and under the sink were dirty/dusty. On top of the fridge was very dusty. We could not use the (new?) TV at all for lack of any internet connection
The beach is right out front of the resort so that was what made us really content. We really loved the beach chairs and snorkel gear that were provided in the closet. Thanks for that!! We aren’t the kind to sit by the pool as much as sit by the ocean and enjoy the surf and the breeze and dip in the waves. The pool was nice but we love the beach.
Overall the condo was fine. Just not as clean as I am used to.

We really enjoyed the location of the unit. Comfy king bed and useful amenities. Nice pools, great beaches and boardwalk. While the construction of new railings prevented our enjoyment of the balcony, they were almost finished when we left!

This condo was perfect for us. It had everything we needed to enjoy the kitchen as well as keurig coffee available for a relaxing morning. Also included is everything you need for the beach such as chairs/towels/beach toys/cooler. Don was a great host and responded to our inquiries per email almost immediately. It was also easy to walk right in from the car. It is nice to not have to have a key as it as a keypad. The best part is it is connected to the beautiful resort. You can step outside to the pool about 20 steps off the elevator which then follows to the shore.

This cute, beachy condo was a lovely stay! We really enjoyed the property and amenities, and it’s so close to the beach. We would’ve loved to be able to use the balcony, but the ocean view combined with the tucked-away feel of the condo was a great combination of peace and quiet.

This lovely studio was more than enough for my stay in Kaanapali
for six days. The unit was clean, spacious, and kept me very comfortable. There was plenty of kitchen space and equipment for my needs--light prep to make breakfast and lunch before going out on my daily Hawaiian adventures. The air-conditioning kept me comfortable in the evenings. The king sized bed was fantastic and I slept quite nicely in it. Toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, toothpaste and more were provided. There was also a cooler, some beach toys for kids, a couple of small boogie boards, a cooler, two Tommy Bahama beach chairs, and snorkeling equipment! These things really came in handy and were super awesome to have, so be sure to check out the closet before going out to buy beach toys and gear because what you need may already be there. The balcony was also peaceful and gave a little bit of a beach view. It was actually lovely and I was able to catch ocean view sunsets. What a great way to wind down and end the day. The owner, Don, was also very prompt in his responses. Check in and check out were a breeze. The door uses a code, so there's no need to fumble with or worry about losing a key card.
Besides the room, the hotel's property was pretty fantastic. The Aston Kaanapali Shores exceeded my expectations. All the staff were super courteous and really exuded the aloha spirit. The reception staff, groundskeepers, security staff, and pool staff were all wonderful. The two pools were great. Jacuzzis were awesome. The poolside bar even has Mai Tai's to go for when you want to have a nice little drink in your room to close out a lovely Hawaiian evening. Having a gym really came in handy (opens at 7 am, closed on Sundays). And of course, having the beach right there is absolutely incredible. There's plenty of other services nearby as well. Pretty good little coffee bar in the lobby, ABC store in the gas station nearby, food truck park just outside the hotel, and I highly recommend you go to Honokowai Farmer's Market for apple bananas and açaí bowls. If you have dinner reservations at Merriman's, it's less than ten minutes away!
I'd definitely stay at this property again and loved Don's vacation unit.

Our stay at the Aston Ka'anapali Shores was brief -- only two days. The property at the Aston was lovely, and the pool was enjoyed by our little kids.
Don's condo was as described, with the exception of the pull-out couch which was not as pictured. After getting in touch with Don, he was able to help us sort the issue. The kingsized bed was new and comfortable, and the unit was clean and ordered on arrival. We did not fully utilize the kitchen, but it was serviceable for our basic breakfast needs.

Overall this condo is okay for the price.
Pros: very clean, owner communication was excellent, pool area(s) are nice, comfortable bed.
Cons: poorly stocked kitchen. If you are really excited to check and and have a glasses of wine on the Lanai, make sure to bring wine glasses because this unit doesn’t have them. (There is a corkscrew).
It’s a condo, so it loud. You hear pickle ball being played all day.
Parking was not clearly explained. You will be charged $9.95 a day, which I was aware of, but you have to ask for a pass at the front desk.
Good luck watching TV, it’s also not explained.

Everything you want in a stay. Full kitchen so with a kid it was nice to cook, balcony had scenic view of river/ocean. Best part of you park at the top of the parking structure. 1 ft away from your door… incredible for a lot of luggage! (Hidden secret you don’t read about)

Likes: bed & sofa bed mattress was comfortable, no sagging. Parking close to condo.
Dislikes: NO free parking; I did not know it was not included until I got to the property. For the rate charged, parking should be free! Walls paper-thin so you could hear others next door. Air conditioning was not cold; need to be fixed. I would not reserve again.

The location of our unit was perfect! Easy to get to and a short elevator ride and walk to pools and beach. We celebrated our daughters 8th bday! We had a great short stay in this unit with a partial ocean view.

Everything from the reservation process, working with the property manager when we had a schedule change, to checking in and checking out was first class and very easy. This property was very clean and well equipped. The proximity to everything you would want on the west side of Maui was perfect and exactly what we needed and we were looking for! We can’t wait to visit again!
