The location of Kaanapali Shores is great, right on the beach. Grounds were nice and had 2 decent pools. They have front desk staff 24hrs a day which was great since we got into Maui late night. This actual condo suite was just ok. The kitchen was fully stocked (even had ice packs) and there were beach towels, chairs, and a cooler to use which was convenient. The bathroom is really small and the shower head is really short so not good if you are taller than 5'5. The suite is older, which you cant quite tell from the pictures. The view is amazing and can be seen once you open the door. But if you look down, there is a dirty stream that you see, along with construction equipment.

Great unit; clean and appreciated beach chairs and basic paper products and initial toiletries. Loved the resort, well kept and loved the beach front bar and restaurant. Had small issue initially with tub plug but contacted manager and they were very prompt to respond and resolved within the day. Would definitely stay again!

Just got back from a trip to celebrate our 29th anniversary and we had a great time. They had everything we needed to enjoy a day at the beach if the weather permitted. We got a lot of rain but went in January to see the whales. We couldn’t believe how many we saw, even from our lanai. Every time we had any questions, we got prompt replies. Thanks for everything!!

Really nice place. Nice pool. Nice beach! Right across street from nice grocery store and shops. Pools were beautiful. Restaurant on property was very reasonable considering it was Maui on the beach. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Wonderful experience!

We loved staying here! We always choose this resort. It has so much to offer! although this room was further back from the beach, the views were amazing! Lots of whales. The first time we stayed in a studio- it was laid out so well! and the decorative upgrades and large screen TV were nice surprises from what the pics show. Great use of space! We would stay here again in the future!.

Kaanapali Shores is a very nice resort. Awesome grounds to explore. Two big pools to swim in, two hot tubs to relax in and the beach is only steps from the pool. The resort has everything you could want. The room was very clean and nicely updated. It has an amazingly huge view of the ocean from the 9th floor. A good size Lanai to sit on and enjoy the view. We shut the screen door and left the glass door open at night to hear the waves. It was very relaxing. The property management was very informative and quick to respond to any questions. We hope to come back soon!

My wife and I were very impressed. The room was clean and exactly as described in the photos. The kitchen had dishes and all the cookware you would need to make dinner. While we mostly ate out, it came in handy with our two year-old who preferred to each plain foods she was accustomed to eating. The view was beautiful. Due to flight cancellations, we had to change the dates slightly, and the property management company was very responsive and helpful. The hotel/resort was beautiful. You are minutes from the beach. We watched the sun set several nights on the beach from the hotel. The pools were a big hit with our daughter. The staff was incredibly helpful. All together, we had a wonderful stay. I would recommend this property to anyone!

There were tiny bugs everywhere in the kitchen area so we couldn’t keep anything on the counter or table. The refrigerator dripped a brown goo on the floor every time the door was opened and I found used masks under the couch. It says there is laundry in the unit and there isn’t. I called the mgmt company to ask about it the first day and never heard back so I didn’t bother trying again about anything else.
The resort itself was fantastic. I would definety go back.

The resort is really nice with all the amenities - great pools, restaurant on site, beach front. Can watch the sunset from the beach. The room is small but lovely and updates with kitchenette stocked with dishes and cooking supplies. Would recommend and stay again!!

Loved the location of this place. However, the first day we were there, our refrigerator, microwave and tv weren’t working. We notified the manager, they sent their maintenance person out, he couldn’t fix it, so he then sent the property maintenance man who also couldn’t fix it. We never heard from the property manager, so I messaged them asking for an update because we wanted to be there if people were in and out of the apartment. Also, not having these amenities, was very inconvenient for us, as we planned to warm up multiple meals and relax and watch movies/tv in the evening, which we currently couldn’t do. We didn’t hear back from the property manager. Once we checked out, they asked if they could improve our stay, we expressed our concerns and frustrations with not having all the amenities available for the week, 4 days later and they still haven’t responded to us. We understand things stop working, but we would have appreciated communication throughout the week, as we had planned to use these amenities frequently.

My husband and I really needed to get away and this property was perfect to do so. We had everything we needed right there in the unit and access to all the hotel amenities. It was nice to have walking distance to food trucks and grocery stores. We hopped in the car and we were downtown Lahaina in 10 minutes. Such a great spot! Highly recommend 😊

We really did enjoy our stay in Maui. The location was very nice but the beach right there isn’t really great for laying out and enjoying the ocean. We did enjoy the pool and the view from our condo was so pretty. We loved that they had pickleball equipment that you could check out and use at the front desk. Overall we would stay here again.

My trip to Maui was for business and I didn't want to stay at the host hotel so found this little gem of a place about 15 min away. It was fantastic to have such a nice space to relax, unwind, enjoy the views, prep my own food and just enjoy my time in Hawaii!

- It is a great place to stay if you want an all inclusive stay and you don't want to leave the condo much. You can go between the beach and pool all day.
- The beach it is on is not that great, it is small and the waves are not that big so it is good for kids and it is clean
- Room was nice, had everything we needed
- Close to grocery stores and 10 minute drive to Lahaina where there is more shopping and more restaurants
- I would prefer to stay in Wailea though, we ended up driving there every day because the better beaches are over there and there are more restaurants to eat at

This was our first trip to Hawaii and the Kaanapali Shores Resort and particularly unit #936 did not disappoint. The suite is newly renovated and almost everything is in pristine condition. The kitchen is outfitted with every gadget you'll possibly need--I wanted to take home that blender since it crushes ice for afternoon cocktails really well! The king-size bed is probably the best one we've ever slept upon. The a/c worked like a dream, the water pressure was great and the whole suite was extremely clean. Also appreciated the handy extras like the cooler and beach chairs and beach towels. There were plenty of fluffy white towels and a thoughtful supply of necessities like paper towel, honey, salt & pepper, garbage bags and soap. We even had an ocean view and could hear the surf. The good thing about the location of this suite is that it's in the 'quiet' wing of the resort. You don't overlook the pool or lobby and there is very little traffic down our corridor so it was like we were the only people there. About the resort: it's a few years old, but it is very well maintained and very, very clean and the staff take obvious pride in keeping it that way. The grounds are spotless and the gardens are lush and gorgeous. We were blown away with how beautiful the grounds were--the grass looks like a putting green! There are two pools--the garden pool is like paradise with plenty of lounge chairs, shade, water features and hot tub. Go early--the kids really like this pool too. The ocean pool is a bit quieter but doesn't have any shade--but it is closer to the bar. ;) There was always plenty of clean, fluffy pool towels as well--they aren't stingy on these. The beach in front of the hotel disappears after about 11am when the tide comes in but it's no problem: walk 20 feet to the left and there's a beautiful beach there. The resort has fun activities. The luao at the pool is fun but get there early to claim a spot to watch. We enjoyed being able to BBQ our dinners. The area by the tennis courts has impressive bbqs. There's a fun atmosphere down there too. The grocery across the street is convenient beyond words. Don't forget your re-useable shopping bags. (we left two in the pot drawer). Plentiful parking in the parkade keeps your car cool. The coin laundry just down the hall was handy and never busy. And dealing with Jan and VRBO was a breeze. WE LOVED EVERYTHING and would come back in a heartbeat! ps: pizza oven down the street is a must-do!
