Despite the weather being the worst we have experienced in Kuaui, staying in one of the best units on Pono Kai made up for it. The unit was renovated some years ago but is still in very good condition, although some of the furniture and the bed pillows need replacing if the unit is to maintain its status as one of the best rental units in the resort.The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, glasses and pots and pans. This lovely unit is backed up with a magnificent view over the ocean that you could not get tired of.Contact with the owners was easy and they responded very quickly. We stayed at the unit for two weeks, and had a mid term clean arranged. The cleaner did an excellent job.All together, an excellent unit to stay in. If the unit is updated buy replacing the tired furniture, i would hsave given it 5 stars.

Beautiful view!, we stayed 12 nights, I have to say that the beach is really fun to swim, especially during Spring and summer, during Winter and Fall is not safe.The bed was small, more like a full bed( my husband slept on the couch in the living room ( he could listen to the waves) also the mattress is too soft, the guest upstairs were noisy, I recommend to bring noise cancellations ear buds, cause also the roosters are noisy and that is all over Kauai.The condo had everything and good quality, except the beach chairs, one of them the straps were broken so we couldn’t carry them on our back( we hardly use them)The host responds almost immediately, very sweet and kind.

Everything about the condo exceeded expectations! Shirley and her on-island associate, Cristine, were most accomodating and made every aspect of my holiday top shelf! My favorite part is that the lanai faces due east and it was the most perfect way to start the day with a cup of coffee and the sunrise. The only problem with this holiday and my stay is that it wasn't long enough!!! In all my 64 years, Kauai has been my favorite holiday and I'll definitely be returning (and to the same accomodations) next year! aloha

Everything about this place was awesome. The location was great since it was in between the north and south side so we could visit both without too much time in the car. The place was clean, had amazing ocean views and had everything we needed. Even beach chairs and boogie boards. The location was on a beach walking/running trail which was nice since I was training for a marathon. The hosts were top notch with communication on anything we needed. We would stay here anytime we visit Kauai.

This was a very disappointing Vrbo experience. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin and when the toilet flushes or people are upstairs walking, it’s unbearable The noise it sounds like torrential rain when the toilet flushes and elephants are upstairs stomping when they are walking. We couldn’t sleep. We couldn’t relax. Kapa Beach is not anywhere close to a swimming beach and although our ground level balcony had an amazing view of a beautiful ocean, the noise above us, made it really hard to relax and enjoy the serene views. We asked the people at front desk main lobby. If they could let the people above us know how horribly insulated this place was maybe they would be a little quieter if they only knew how much we could hear everything they did or said furniture moving balls bouncing. The response we got was quiet hours are from 10 to 8. If you have a problem call between this hours. We ended up booking a different room for the rest of our stay at the at Marriott resort just so we could have a place to sleep in quiet for the night. Not a good experience at all not worth the money. The location isn’t great I wouldn’t recommend.

Our stay was wonderful. The view from the patio was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning. The location was also very convenient. We were close to the town of Kapaa and enjoyed walking the bike path that runs infront of the condo. We were a short drive from hiking trails and public beaches.

Our second year staying at this wonderful condo. Stephanie and Steven could not have been nicer hosts. The condo is in a great location within walking distance from many shops and restaurants about 20 feet from the ocean! It is also well maintained and beautifully appointed. Condo was as advertised and very clean. There was a problem with the door codes not working when we first arrived, but the manager resolved that issue within a 10-minute phone call and was readily available if any problem occurred. Area is in the town of Kappa, with a quaint local experience and a lot of interesting shops to visit. Bike path out front is ideal for traveling up and down the coast and a local bike shop is available if the 2 bikes included in the rental do not work for you. Swimmable beaches and restaurants are easy to find during the winter months. We had a wonderful week and would return to the same condo in the future.

For two people, I doubt if you’ll find a safer, cleaner, more bang for your buck than this unit. It is right in the thick of things. You can walk to restaurant shops within a block or two. It’s not a resort by any means, but it’s a very nice condo complex with pool area and times of open space. Being right on the ground floor was great. Huge boardwalk to walk right in front. Owner was very attentive. Unit has everything you could ask for supplied inside. Very nice appliances and comfortable furniture to sit on. If we came back, I would book this place in a heartbeat. They really take pride in their property.

This place is really nice! Unfortunately, when we arrived, we could not get into the unit. We were given a code but it was incorrect. We were outside for more than an hour (with our infant) as the front desk couldn’t help us and VRBO couldn’t get ahold of the manager/owner. Afterwards, they still communicated very poorly. The unit itself was very clean and very accurate to the pictures and it’s just a shame we couldn’t make this situation right and I wouldn’t stay again just for fear of not being able to get ahold of someone if you need to.

The second bedroom sleeping configuration changed less than a week before our trip. While we received some compensation, it did not make up for the inconvenience. The second bedroom now has double size bunk beds. These might be of interest to families with kids, but not to two senior couples! Plus that bedroom has no storage, like a chest of drawers, etc. We moved the one from master bedroom and put it back before checking out.Kitchen mat is a bit of a trip/fall hazard, due to being so thick.

Plenty of parking. Close beach access but better beaches just north and south of Kapaa with lifeguards and restrooms. Close to walkable restaurants. Beach towels and Some beach equipment available. AC in living room only but bedroom kept cool with fans. Bedroom window on walkway so kept window closed for privacy. Pool nice but small for size of complex and quite busy but who needs a pool with the ocean so close! Listening to ocean was the best. The view is amazing.

Perfect location to view the ocean and wonderful sunrises! The unit was just as pictured. The kitchen was very well appointed with most everything you would need to prepare meals. Very clean. The bed was comfortable, a bit on the soft side, but very nice. Lots of fun things in the closet-beach towels, tennis racquets, beach chairs, just bring your own sunscreen (reef friendly per Hawaii) and you are set. A few restaurants within walking distance, quite a few are established food trucks. If you want a little more upscale, you will have to drive to those. Grocery store is about a mile away. We were fortunate spy a few whales in the distance - you do need to know what whale activity you're looking for though, and thanks to the binoculars in the unit, we could see a few tail flips. Despite being a private rental, the resort amenities are available to you-pool, tennis courts, putting greens, exercise room and laundry facilities. A convenient change machine near the lobby will get you all the quarters you need to wash and dry. We did have a slight issue with the HVAC system, but the owner and his on-island contact were very prompt, receptive and helpful. All was well. Mahalo! for a really nice stay.

A perfect stay for our family of 6. I appreciated the quality of the furnishings and the well-stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable, even the pullout in the loft. Communication with the owners was easy. The oceanfront location was amazing—we watched whales spouting and waving from our balcony. I appreciated that even though the balcony was tight we had seats for 6 out there. The resort property is lovely and well-cared for. We love the town of Kapaa and walked there often—food trucks, coffee and shaved ice. It’s also central on the coast making other destinations easier to access. We would be happy to return!

The condo is beautiful, clean, well-equipped, roomy. The best thing is the absolute beautiful sunrises and coastal view. Just walk out the screen door and you are looking at the beach. There is a wonderful walking trail outside the back door also that takes you into town and up the coast. Dave and Nancy were so helpful when we had questions. They responded quickly We felt right at home. The little "town" of Kapa'a has cut shops and eateries. We loved our stay!

Beautiful stay- comfortable and spacious common areas, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Condo with immediate beach access and lovely paved boardwalk for morning strolls to see the sunrise. Pictures do not do the place justice. Excellent amenities with great kitchen facilities and abundance of towels. Lovely to come home after long adventurous days to home cooked meals. We stayed here as a couple but could have easily fit our kids as an easier stay than a hotel. Resort had a wonderful hot tub and pool, laundry, hammocks and sports courts. The north and south were each 40-1:15 min away depending on traffic and we discovered beautiful local beaches within 15 min drive. Wailua falls and kayaking were close. Highly recommend!!
