Everything was as advertised- clean, quiet, beautiful apartment. Much better than hotel options! We had a lovely breakfast each morning if on the patio looking out at the ocean. My kids loved the facilities (pool, ping pong table, etc). Hosts were immediately responsive to all of my questions. Very happy with our stay!

The resort is in a good location, close enough to the beach that a brief sidewalk trek will lead one to the ocean walkway. We did not have ocean views from our condo, as it faces the center of the resort leading to the pool area, which did have attractive landscaping. The staff was fairly responsive to our needs.
Airport is a quick drive, though sometimes traffic can be a little heavy, especially if there is construction, of course. There are a few restaurants in walking distance, and the condos have full kitchens.
Our unit which was privately owned had extras in the kitchen, which was really nice. It also provided extras that our friends staying in the same resort did not have in their regular condo, such as beach chairs, a few toys, etc.,and a Roku for streaming which we loved, because we could easily catch up on our favorite Colorado sports teams in the evening.
Overall, our stay was a good one. Beach views would’ve been nice, but we were out on excursions and traveling all around the island throughout the day all week, and had walks along the beach daily every morning. Those are the very memorable moments.

We had a wonderful time staying at Pono Kai Resort! The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our 8 night stay! Shirley and Tony are great hosts! It was our first time in Kauai and it was so helpful that Shirley gave us restaurant/activity ideas, plus a ton of island information. We highly recommend booking with these hosts! Awesome location, just steps from the ocean, and at a reasonable (for Kauai!) price. We had our morning coffee on the lanai watching lovely sun rises every morning. This condo was extremely well equipped, very comfortably appointed, cute, and quiet. We plan to stay here again the next time we visit Kauai. The owner, Kathleen, was very responsive to our requests for information, and had assembled a binder for the condo that contained all the information that you need to get the most out of your visit to this lovely island. We especially liked the central location in Kapa’a, which allowed easy day visits to all the island attractions. It was a perfect place to have one of the most relaxing and comfortable vacations we have ever had!

Such an easy place to walk by the icean or into town for a large choice of food options. We only used our rental one day for a quick trip to Poipu. This condo is amazing!! My family (5 of us) enjoyed our stay very much. Hosts were very quick to respond to our questions. Place was very clean and right on the water. Resort grounds were beautiful with so much to do! On our down time (rainy day) we played ping pong, crockett and horseshoes. We will definitely be back!!

The location is why the high rating. The place has its positives but is older and could use some work. The iron is so old and did not work. The fan in guest room has no remote and hard to figure out. The kitchen was very good and the screen door going out to ocean is very hard to see through. My biggest issue was smell in room like it was just cleaned. Just not a fresh air smell. Having said all this I would stay again but would be nice to have air conditioning

Ocean view was fantastic. Air conditioner didn't work properly after 2 times using it. Called Brenda to tell her about it and she said if might of been the timer was set. We turned the timer off but still didn't work properly. We didn't call her back because we got used to not using it. We did leave her a note stating it should be looked at.I don't think the floors were mopped/swept because there were bugs behind one of the chairs and also found blood spots in the livingroom and bathroom

The condo was perfect! The view of the water is exactly as shown in the pictures, so you could enjoy the sound of the waves. It was wonderful to enjoy the sunrise each morning while we sipped coffee on the balcony. As noted by others, there are only stairs, no elevator. And while there is no air conditioning, the condo cooled off nicely overnight with the ceiling fans, open patio door, etc. I would absolutely stay here again!

This place is gorgeous! It is just as pictured and described with a couple of bonuses. The condo was spotless, the A/C works great, and the kitchen had everything we needed in it - and we cooked everyday.I really appreciated the ease of communication with Kauai Vacation Rentals. Overall, the condo was wonderful and a great value. We will certainly stay again. Bonus: The main bath closet was stocked with everything we needed for the beach (and more). This saved us time and money from having to rent it elsewhere. When we were there this included beach chairs and mats, sun umbrellas, wagon, bogie boards, and a perfectly-sized small cooler.

The room was clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable. It is highly desirable that this unit comes with air conditioning, which is very much needed in Hawaii. The view is impeccable. The location is central to all of Kauai. Getting to any part of the island doesn’t seem very far away. My only complaint is that the television station options are not easy to maneuver and I don’t know if it was available, but I could not get any local TV stations (Honolulu). Otherwise I would highly recommend this rental.

This unit was fantastic in all categories! The ocean view was phenomenal. The unit was beautiful inside with all the amenities one would need. The A/C worked perfectly, also. We could not have possibly asked for a better unit, it was absolutely perfect. If and when we return to Kauai we will definitely rent this unit again.
