We were really impressed with the condo. So very helpful to have all the kitchen equipment we needed. We easily prepared a full Thanksiving dinner for ourselves! The condo was roomy for our family of five to have private space. The beach equipment (chairs, snorkel gear, umbrellas even a small cooler) made it so much easier to dash off to the beaches. The location was perfect to go North or South and so easy to walk to the cute town of Kapa'a. The view was such a bonus! Highly recommend. Communication with owners excellent.

We absolutely adored the condo; it was impeccably clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with an abundance of plates and cutlery for larger groups, various coffee makers to suit anyone's taste, spices, and even tequila shots. Additionally, the condo provided lounge chairs and snorkeling gear. However, the standout feature was its prime beachfront location, allowing you to relish every moment of your stay in beautiful Kauai without missing a beat. Check-in and check-out were effortless, and Brooke and Betsy promptly addressed any of our needs. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone.

Pono Kai is a premium location. The condo is spacious and well equipped. Communication with the owner/manger has been on point with timely and complete information. For a vacation rental this property has a great deal to offer. Mahalo.

This is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath 3rd floor condo. The master bedroom has lots of space for lots of suitcases and so does the loft with two twin beds and a couch. (We didn't need the loft.) It was a good place to do floor exercises every morning with carpet and lots of space. The 2nd bedroom is much smaller, doesn't cool down very easily, has a small full bathroom with a big shower outside of the bedroom. That is most likely the bathroom the people in the loft would use. The balcony is too crowded with furniture and the A/C unit is right there giving off lots of heat--at times too much to enjoy the balcony. But, the view from it is beautiful and steps from the ocean. The common pool area is nice and has lots of covered seating--a nice place for large groups to gather. You can rent your snorkel equipment there in the lobby and it was very decent pricing. We moved on from there after a week, kept our equipment, and returned them on the way to the airport. They knew and were okay with us doing that. It was very convenient. Pacos Tacos right across the street was very good food.

When we had to change our itinerary last minute due to the Maui wildfires and decided to visit Kauai, Betsy and Brooke were fantastic. Extremely accommodating and helpful. The condo was great. Very clean and updated, with plenty of space for our family of 6. Kids liked the pool, and even though the beach access right outside wasn’t what we considered safe for swimming, it was gorgeous for walking and watching the sunrise. Perfect, central location. Highly recommend!

This property was as it shows. Location is ideal to go either direction for activities. Plenty of room for all six of us. Easy walk to food and drinks. Walk in shower is wonderful and large. Plenty of towels and beach stuff. Previous reviews covered it so why repeat repeat repeat. I would stay again.

This was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy a week of relaxation on the island. The living spaces are large and our two families never felt like we were on top of each other. The kitchen is well equipped, so you can cook all your favorite meals. The back bedroom gets a little warm during the day, but when you open up the windows and the door to the lanai in the evening, it takes 5 minutes to cool everything down. Close it all back up and let the a/c do it’s thing. This was the perfect place to come back to every day after exploring the island.

The property fit all of our needs perfectly. It was adequately sized for our large group of 6 and the location was convenient for beach activities, dining, bicycling and surfing. It was clean and well taken care of.

This house was amazing! The beds were all very comfortable and the rooms were nice and spacious. The air conditioning was nice and cooled the whole apartment wonderfully. They had everything we needed, plus more! Four nice beach chairs, beach mats, a couple boogie boards, a beach umbrella, a cooler, towels; And that was just for the beach!
We loved being able to go out on the balcony and watch the sun rise every morning! There was a fun little beach right there that we played at a little bit and The resort had beautiful grounds. It was nice to be so close to the little shops and places to eat. And being in Kapa’a in this lovely condo provided easy access to all the different areas of Kauai that we wanted to explore!
Leading up to our vacation I had messaged Betsy a few times asking for some info about the condo and she responded so quickly!
As you can tell we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it a million times over!

We had this trip planned pre-Covid and finally got to visit! Our accommodations were fabulous w a perfect ocean view. It was conveniently located to groceries, restaurants and shops. It is also half way to visiting sightseeing destinations. The Condo had everything we needed and our hosts answered all our questions and were very accommodating . We did use the loft area for an adult and a full size or queen bed up there would have been appreciated . We thank you for sharing your space w us ! We would definitely recommend this to our friends!

The location of this property is perfectly located half way between the North and South shores which was ideal for our first time in Kauai. The town is great, lots of shops and restaurants that are walkable. The walking/bike path along the ocean right in front of the condo went for miles and is amazing. We were able to see whales right off the lanai every day. I have no qualms giving this condo the highest ratings.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this condo. The kitchen was very well stocked, as we enjoy cooking. It was very comfortable for 2 couples, both bedrooms had king sized beds. The only downside was the lanai was a little small for 4 adults and the compressor unit was located here and blew hot air when running the air conditioners.

We absolutely loved this condo! It was spacious, clean, comfortable and right on the beach. We were so glad we stayed on the east side of Kauai. We practically had the beach to ourselves and we could walk right into town for coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, shopping.. whatever you need! You can hear the waves crashing every night and enjoy a beautiful sunrise each morning. I would definitely stay here again!

The condo was well equipped and quite comfortable. The bed in the master was very comfortable as was the sofa. The dining chairs could have been more comfortable though. We only used the master bedroom, so I cannot comment on the secondary bedrooms. Great sunrise views every morning, and ocean breezes on the balcony while looking at the stunning ocean views. Kapaa Town is a block away with many stores and restaurants. There were some issues that arose during our stay and the owners were very responsive regarding dealing with them. Everything was dealt with to our satisfaction and I was impressed with their fairness and consideration.

Had a great time here. The location was great. The view was even better. The communication was responsive as well. Any time I had a question, it was answered promptly. The complex could use a bit of upkeep but the unit itself was great. The only reason I gave 4 stars for cleanliness because some of the coffee mugs that were hanging were not cleaned. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

This condo is in a perfect location and comes with almost everything you need to enjoy Kauai. All the bedrooms are generously sized and waking up to the sun rise over the beach is amazing! Check in and out was very straightforward. The property itself has a lot to offer, although on this trip we were too busy checking out all the beaches and snorkeling off the Napali Coast!

The location was perfect! We spent time in different parts of the island and this made it extremely convenient. We had teenagers in our group and the town was ideal for them to pick up snacks and head to the beach. Our favorite thing was being able to take breakfast on the beach to watch sunrise. This unit was great for our group of 2 couples and 2 teens. The loft was a great second hang-out space with 2 twin beds and a couch and mini-fridge for the teens. The view of the ocean from the living room and master bedroom was spectacular. You could hear the ocean waves at night. The unit is also right alongside the walking/bike path in Kapaa. The kitchen was outfitted with everything we could have needed. Beach chairs and boogie boards were also available. This place was great!

It is near lot's of shopping and some really good restaurants. It's centrally located so easy to get to the Fern Grotto and the helicopter tours, etc.

We had a super time at Betsy's home on the beach in old town Kapaa. Cute town within walking distance. Literally on the beach with great views. The bike path was out the back door. Home was extremely clean and roomy for our family of 5. We loved every minute!

We did like the set up of the property, it had the beds shown, it gets confusing to check into the resort, but the property is privately owned and the owner is in a different time zone and the person available responded slower than the owner in a different time zone. On the other hand, they had everything you need there. It was well stocked and they had extra for you as well (beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. Beds were comfortable. View was amazing and great location central to the island. Disappointed that the washer and dryers that are available to use are for the entire resort and outside of the unit. (Bring your quarters). Also found dirty sock and underwear in the upstairs loft., so felt the need to reclean everything. Lots to do around the island and the property was beautiful otherwise.

Great location, both within Kapa’a and on Kauai. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, the beach, etc. And easy drive to Princeville and Poipu. The condo is in a nicely-landscaped resort with a pool, mini golf, hammocks and other nice amenities. Plenty of room for our family of 5. And nice to have A/C. The best part was sitting on the lanai, watching the sun rise, and listening to the waves. Would definitely book this condo again.

We could not have asked for a better ocean-front Kauai experience than this spacious condo that easily accommodates six. The kitchen is well-equipped, the condo is convenient to shopping, and the family-friendly resort complex is surprisingly quiet, with friendly and helpful front desk staff.
The Pono Kai is not a "resort" with a spa, restaurant, and bar, and activities for keiki, and the pool is a bit small for the number of units in the property, but for anyone seeking a peaceful, centrally located retreat right on the water, it is a great option. We enjoyed a wonderful and memorable two weeks in our third floor unit, and can't wait to return.
