Islander on the Beach is a condotel resort (some hotel rooms and some condos) located in Wailua, which is just south of Kapaa. Islander on the Beach features a pool and hot tub and beautiful grounds. Although beachfront, the ocean here is too rough to swim in, but good for beach walks. Wailua Bay and river are located just to the south. Less than 5 minutes away is Lydgate beach park, one of the safest snorkeling and swimming spots on Kauai with its man made tide pool. The park also features a playground and fort for children.
